I’m usually a [solidcore] girl, but I really enjoyed working out under the red lights! It was a great change of pace from my usual reformer routine, and I’ll definitely be adding this into my rotation. The class wasn’t intimidating at all, and the pacing was just right, challenging but manageable. The music is definitely loud, which doesn’t bother me since it’s similar to the [solidcore] vibe, but if you’re not into high-energy or louder spaces, that’s something to keep in mind. I love that they have a shake bar to help you refuel afterward, and the showers are a major plus! Navy Yard already has so much to offer, and this is definitely another great addition. Overall, it’s a 10/10 for me.

Would give 6 stars if possible. Great staff. Great coaches, and the MPH Hydrator slaps. Never thought I would enjoy “being told what to do” during a workout but the coaches are great and they make the class fun.

Loved Kirstin- such a fun class and loooooved her energy! I usually hate running but she made it fun. It was my first time at Barry's and Jason at the front desk was also super helpful! Will be back!!

Highly recommend! Nice and friendly staff.. Jayson was attentive and made sure my first class goes smoothly and he gave me a quick tour to the facility. The instructor, Jorge, was great! I had a great time and the welcome note was a nice gesture.

Updated to add the Theraguns have arrived :)

Excited to have Barry's in the neighborhood! The lobby area is a bit smaller than other studios I've been to which makes for a bit of a chaotic class change but otherwise lovely staff and a great class! Oddly the coat rack in the locker room is like only 4 feet high so winter jackets are all sitting on the floor. Seems like a rather odd design flaw. Also didn't notice any Theraguns like other studios have so not sure if they are just not there yet or they don't plan to have them at all which would be a bummer.

Barry’s is a fantastic HIIT workout done as a group to outstanding music playlists. David’s Monday afternoon classes are the best! Make sure to book early as it will absolutely fill up.

Excited to have a Barry's location closer to home after going to the Dupont studio. While the new space is more intimate than Dupont, they've maximized it effectively. Being in their soft opening phase, they're actively fine-tuning the experience.

The workout quality remains high, with standout instructors like Nazinga and Chris delivering challenging, energetic classes. Some of the newer instructors are still developing their signature styles, which is expected with any studio launch.

A few minor adjustments would enhance the experience: additional seating and hooks in the women's locker room, and raising the height of the coat rack. These are easy fixes that would make the space even more functional.

Overall, it's great to see Barry's expanding in the area. With a few tweaks, this location will be on par with their established studios.

Does anybody else think it's weird that those 6 reviews all mention very specific things?
7am, blaring music, park...it's like they have a group chat or something...
Let's read between the lines.

I have been looking forward to this studio opening for months! I took class today for opening day and took class with Jorge - 10/10 vibes! 🥵 They really went all out for opening day complete with free coffee, tequila bar and brunch! Can’t wait to come back next week!

All the previous reviews are from an outdoor workout from people who never attended a class at this new gym. I just left the actual class and it was wonderful (as all Barry’s classes are). Excited to be a regular at this location now.

I was super excited about a Barry's opening directly across the street from my building! At least I was, until this morning when I woke up to reverberating bass blasting and a woman absolutely freaking out SCREAMING into a microphone at 7am. I had to run to my window, it almost sounded like a second insurrection was happening outside.

This is a neighborhood. People live here. What they did today was downright disrespectful. Barrys has alienated the entire neighborhood before they've even technically opened... I will never be a customer

I woke up this morning to bass from their 7am Thursday morning outdoor workout vibrating my walls. There were 3 people in the supposed “class” and yet the instructor was yelling over the loud speaker even after being asked to turn it down. Clearly this business has no actual respect for the community or the residents surrounding its newest location and is already starting off on the wrong foot. With as many people that also complained to the Capitol River front Yards park, I doubt they will be issued a permit for whatever that was this morning again either.

This 7am wall shattering outdoor class better not be a recurring thing. Extremely rude to be so loud that I can hear the instructor nearly word for word through my apartment walls. Have some awareness.

I woke up today at 7AM to an inanely loud outdoor fitness class disturbing the entire neighborhood with only three people participating. This gym thinks it is appropriate to be screaming and yelling into a mic and blaring workout music, yelling "3,2,1" over and over at 7AM. If this is going to continue to be allowed and the police can't stop it, I'm not renewing my lease and I'm moving from the neighborhood. An absolute nuisance and completely disrespectful to working people that just want some rest in the morning.
