Highly recommend Kylie! I worked with Kylie to address my severe migraines and tension headaches. She took such a thoughtful approach to designing a plan with me. Giving me options and information to choose the plan that was right for me. We ultimately did some food sensitivity testing which I was skeptical about but Kylie asked me to trust her and I’m so glad I did. I started working with Denys a couple months ago with the primary goals of building my body up against the grind of a full-time return to office and to learn to use more equipment. It has been a great start and fun to be part of the gym while they grow. Every week that goes by, they make little tweaks to improve their space and continue to add clients to their roster.
You buy training slots in either 10 or 20 session packages. There is not a discount for buying the 20 pack, but you can access a free nutrition chat if you step up to it. Also, they do not have a mandatory base gym fee, so the training session is the only component to your costs to consider
Denys in particular has a hugely impressive background as a bodybuilder and 16 years of experience as a trainer as well. He is funny, patient, and a great teacher. He is an an expert in his field. His leg day is famous! I was lucky to be paired with him and hope to continue to learning and growing with him for a long time. Feeling much stronger and healthier after just a few months together

I found DCSN while looking for a new personal trainer. I set up an online appointment to meet with Brian and Kylie - they asked me about my goals and what I was looking for to accomplish. After our discussion, they set me up to work with Denys. I have been working with Denys for about 6 weeks 3x a week and it's been a great experience so far. I'm recovering from abdominal surgery and they were able to start me off slow, but I've been able to progress much quicker than what I thought was possible. Over all very friendly and chill vibe. They all are highly skilled and educated in their fields.They are conveniently located in Blagden Alley and the gym is the perfect size, never too packed for your one-on-one sessions. I also recently started nutrition coaching with Kylie and have been impressed with our initial meeting. Looking forward to continue to build and grow here. Was experiencing a lot of indigestion, bloating, and just overall discomfort with every meal. Through working with Kylie I was able to identify exactly what was happening behind the scenes in my gut. She helped me develop a treatment plan and was always there with tips and encouragement along the way. I came in due to back and shoulder pain and thanks to Bryan's personalized training methods, my pain was gone in a few weeks. And despite not being an experienced weight lifter, after 6-7 months of training, I've put on 10 lbs of muscle and am feeling better than ever.

Bryan’s been my trainer and he’s fantastic—super professional, thoughtful, and his programming somehow always feels spot on. It’s dynamic without ever being chaotic, and you can tell there’s real intention behind every workout.

This is my second time working with Kylie. Both times she has gotten to the root of my problems, and helped me to feel better. She truly cares and gives complete 1:1 interactions. I was referred to Kylie through my physical therapist and it's been a pleasure working with her. Kylie explains the science behind what she's recommending and meets you at your pace. For the first time in 4 years (since I had my kids), I’m having normal GI function! In less than a month of working with Kylie on my gut health we had identified several of the barriers (H.Pylori, low “good bugs”, parasite, leaky gut), we developed a step by step plan that I’m following with ease, and I know the areas of my nutrition to put energy into. She worked with my PCP on extra testing and treatment options and all around, I’m feeling amazing. Kylie is amazing and takes time to listen to your needs, answer any questions you have and actually cares about you. It's hard to find a fitness studio that provides multiple streams of physical and mental wellness in such a boutique setting. Bryan and Kylie have created a community that makes everyone feel at home while personally investing in their clients fitness goals.
I have been training with Tucker three-times a week for the last nine-months. Tucker has a rigorous, but easygoing approach to training that creates a highly motivating, yet low-pressure environment. When I do have to reschedule a session, Tucker is always flexible and accommodating. Not only has my overall health, strength and endurance improved, but I have found the experience something I look forward to.
If you are considering 1:1 personal training and want a well-equipped neighborhood studio setting, I couldn't recommend BC Strength more!

Bryan is one of the best trainers you can get in DC! He takes the time to show you how to correctly perform the movements, properly explains the functions, and watches you carefully, making sure that you don't build bad habits that may cause injury. What I love best about Bryan is that he listens to your goals and builds a unique individualized program around you. I've definitely gotten stronger and a lot fitter training with Bryan.

I was ĺucky enough to find BC Strength Training while travelling in DC. Owners Bryan and Kylie were amazingly accommodating and made me feel at home instantly. The gym is very well equipped and suitable for a range of training including powerlifting, strongman and general strength and conditioning. It features quality Rogue equipment including belt squat, GHD and reverse hyper, plus racks, many specialty bars (SSB, multi-grip, axle bar etc), dumbbells up to 50kg, plus plenty of functional items. The team work by appointment, ensuring individualised attention and access to equipment. A very cool workout experience, highly recommended.

I honestly can’t envision anything more I could want from personal training than what I’ve found with Bryan at BC Strength Training. As a new parent, I had struggled to find a health and fitness routine that worked with life as a working mom. I reached to Bryan and Kylie to take part in their dual personal training/nutrition Stratified Strength program, and they have been an incredible team to work with. I am now stronger physically and mentally, I have greater endurance and flexibility, my improved posture has helped with migraine management, and I am making healthier choices for myself and my family. Bryan’s approach to tailoring his program to your specific needs, explaining and demonstrating as much as you find helpful, and preventing injury has let me trust the process as a newcomer to strength training without fear of injury; his care for his clients is evident; and he’s also just a great conversationalist to chat with during training sessions. He has also been super flexible with scheduling and accommodating last minute cancellations due to illness with our little one in daycare. The program is the best investment I am making into my physical and mental health, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

UPDATE: 9 months later and I’m seeing visible improvements in my physical appearance, including toned biceps, slimmer waist, and better posture. I’ve been training with Bryan for the last 6 months. It’s the longest that I’ve ever stuck with a training regimen in my entire life. I was never an athletic kid growing up, but Bryan has helped me develop a habit, interest — and dare-I-say — a LIKE for movement!
We start most trainings with stretches, lunges, deadlifts, presses, curls, planks and a variety of full-body exercises. There’s measurable progress and results. I feel stronger, more energetic, and, most importantly, more confident in my own skin.

I started training with Bryan a few months ago. Like many others, my physical activity had been so reduced in the last year, and I was keen to start lifting again for the sake of my health. I didn't know him before and decided to try him out when I saw one of his local ads. Bryan's set up is all outdoors, and there is enough space to keep a good distance. He practices great hygiene with the equipment and wipes everything down between clients. He is very knowledgeable and I am learning a lot in terms of good technique and form. He has a nice range of equipment and I am seeing my progress and an increase in strength. I had thought the outdoor set up would become a challenge for me during the winter, but I am (surprisingly) enjoying being outdoors in the cold, and sometimes these workouts end up being the only fresh air and outdoors I get for the week - so I am relishing it. He is also a friendly, easy-going guy and we generally have great conversation and a good laugh during the sessions. These workouts have been one of the best investments I have made in my health during this pandemic.

When COVID closed gyms, Bryan worked hard to get equipment that could be used outdoors so that his clients could continue to work out, which not only benefitted their immune systems but also their mental health. He has a full set up and so much equipment that I haven't once missed the gym. He cleans the equipment and space obsessively after every client.
Unlike some personal trainers, Bryan does not give the same basic workout to every person. He individualizes your workout plan based upon your body and your goals. He explains each exercise so you know why you're doing it and how to do it. Not only do I look better, I feel better. I have bought packages with Bryan for both of my parents and would highly recommend him to anyone serious about their fitness.

Bryan is easily one of the best personal trainers in DC. I came up to the city for 3 months for work, and I was keen on getting my body in shape.
Bryan won’t BS you. He tells you it how it is, and he will tailor fit a program that is unique to your needs. I also like that he focuses on movement patterns and takes a kinesiological approach to strength training. This is very important because it helps to avoid injury.
Over the course of these past 3 months, I’ve met with Bryan at a rate of 4x a week. He’s trained me to be much stronger, and I’ve reached weight lifting goals that I could not have imagined coming into this. I also feel and look much better than I did coming in.
As I finish this Summer, Bryan has proved not only a great personal trainer, but also a friend. He’s a really chill guy. You will challenge yourself and have fun at the same time.
