My family came from out of town to visit this gym for a 12pm class and the uber could not drop them off in front of the building because the location is NOT in street view. It's in a kind of alley/off street area. Because they are not from the area they were not aware of this and searched the block looking for this location. After finally finding the location at 12:05pm they were told they could not enter and participate in the workout. After explaining that 1) The uber does not drop off in front of the location 2) They are from out of town and not familiar with the area 3) They are using a passport so they would lose that session on their passport, they were still turned away with the excuses of "for their safety" and they wouldn't get to warm up. Absolutely ridiculous. While the person communicated she wouldn't charge them for the session, they now has to catch an uber back. Complete waste of money. While they were indeed late by 5 minutes, some consideration could have been made in this specific circumstance. Especially because they have been to many of the F45 gyms and have never had this experience. Just a highly disappointing experience.

f45 is a great work out and would highly recommend it to anyone but this studio in particular is what makes it great. the coaches are inspiring, friendly, experienced, funny, and bring such good energy to the class. the studio itself is huge and is one of the nicest ones ive been to. the staff are constantly doing fun themed classes, getting businesses to do pop ups, and generally going the extra mile for their clients.
just had my last class here because i moved away and i will sorely miss it!!!

F45 Navy Yard is hands down the best workout experience I’ve ever had. The sessions are high-energy, constantly evolving, and super effective. The coaches are supportive, knowledgeable, and keep you motivated every step of the way. They also play close attention to form and encourage good habits to mitigate injury risks. The community is also amazing—welcoming and encouraging no matter your fitness level. Highly recommend!

I am obsessed with F45 Navy Yard! I started on ClassPass last year and soon joined as an unlimited member. I had always been hesitant to join a boutique studio, and my only regret is I wish I had joined sooner! :)
The workouts go by so fast which makes it feel manageable and I love all the different variations. The coaches here are absolute rockstars and help provide guidance, encourgament, and energy, and I have met so many awesome people. Everyone made me feel welcome and comfortable from the start, which can be an intimdating starting something new. Coaches are always happy to answer questions and... their playlists are always solid.
The community here is my favorite part and I always look forward to seeing my new friends - it also provides extra motivation to get to a class (and hold each other accountable!) So happy to have taken the chance on F45 and look forward to many more great memories and of course continuing to feel strong physically and mentally.

I’ve been going to F45 classes at Navy Yard for the past few months and have absolutely loved it. The classes are challenging, and I love that I’m constantly being pushed to do more than I would have if I were working out by myself. I am so grateful to have found this place to help me get my health back to where I want it. I really love this place and have recommended it to my friends!

I highly recommend F45 Navy Yard! The trainers are incredible and very kind. You always leave feeling like you got a great workout. There is always room to modify a workout that isn't working for you, and trainers are well qualified to help facilitate this. This location also has top-tier management that goes out of their way to help when you need it. Nothing but great things to say about F45 Navy Yard!

I like the idea of being strict about attendance time. But the door was locked when I arrived at 8:30, which was the class time. Look there may be some slight variations in phone times etc so if you’re going to lock the door do what other sensible F45 locations do, lock the door at one minute past the class time, so that there are no disputes like this. It’s one thing to be strict but it s another thing to be abusively authoritarian. Although maybe that kind of behavior is now encouraged these days in this town. Of course they will respond that they didn’t lock until after 8:30, but my iPhone, synced to the global inter web, said 8:30 at the moment I arrived. Easy way to alienate customers and lose business. On top of that the instructor kept insisting that I was supposed to be there twenty minutes before. She also told me she was the only one working. Twenty minutes before there is still a class going on. So I’m supposed to come there twenty mins early and watch their previous class? Which means I spend like 65 minutes at this place and work out for maybe 35-40
Given that they have the intro to the exercises? Come on. It makes no sense. ClassPass, where I booked the res, recommends 15 before. When there would probably still be a guided stretch from the previous class. So what’s the point to go there and watch? I’m there to exercise. They claim there are these reams of paperwork to fill out, yet what they actually mean is a signature on an iPad that takes about four seconds to do. And they wouldn’t even have been able to do that if I arrived when they wanted because they would
Still have had a previous class going on and they only have one instructor according to them. ClassPass also says late arrivals will not be permitted. Late means after the start time, at least at any of the many many other F45 locations I have visited worldwide. In summary: I biked 25 minutes across the city and went especially fast to be sure I would arrive here at the class time. I did arrive on time, at the class time. But they had already started before that according to the globally synced time of an iPhone and they had already locked me and anyone else out at 8:30. Not fun.

Just like all the other people that provided a 1 star review, I had a terrible experience with this "fitness studio" because I got locked out. I showed up for a 12:00pm class and arrived at 11:59am by my watch. According to the studio’s camera timestamp, I arrived at 12:00:30—just 30 seconds past the hour—and was denied entry. Despite people inside seeing me outside the door, no one let me in or informed the trainer.
I've been to at least six F45 studios globally and have never experienced this level of rigidity or lack of basic courtesy. Fitness studios should be about community and support, not strictly enforcing technical cutoffs without any room for human judgment—especially when members make the effort to arrive on time and are visibly present. F45 markets itself as a team-based workout, but there’s nothing team-oriented about how this studio operates. It’s cold, robotic, and frankly, pathetic from a customer service and brand perspective. They could not even simply apologize for the bad experience. And this all happened during my first week trial.
There are many excellent alternatives in the area that offer better value and way better customer experience, so if you're considering trying classes/a fitness studio, try Barry’s in Navy Yard, Orange Theory, Mayweather Boxing, Luma (pilates studio), Solidcore, Urban, or 9Round. They're all within 3-4 blocks from this place. Even F45 Capitol Hill, although it falls under the same ownership of the Navy Yard location, they have an excellent customer service. They are upfront about the door lock policy and tell you that after 3 minutes of class start time you can't come in (as opposed to Navy Yard that lock the door on the second without any heads up). In summary, if you're thinking about joining this location, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. This studio gives the brand a bad name.

F45 at Navy Yard is a great workout studio! I love having Ali, Amy, & Anna as my trainers.
As a deaf client, I feel comfortable and supported by them. They would come to me if my form or tempo is off. They use gesture or type on their iPhone to communicate with me. I’m grateful I have found my gym! ❤️

F45 Navy Yard is more than just a gym, it’s a community that pushes you to be your best. The workouts are intense, effective, and constantly changing, keeping things exciting and you don’t get bored easily! But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible coaching team, especially Head Coach Amy. The team are trainers; they are life motivators, always bringing energy, encouragement, and a belief in every member’s potential. This team and workout completely changed my life, making me stronger, both physically and mentally. If you’re looking for a place that challenges and supports you, this is it!

Workout classes were never my thing but F45 changed that when I joined 2 years and 360 classes ago. F45 gives you 45 minutes of intense, structured workout with exercises changing every class. While many group fitness gyms focus on one or the other, F45’s alternating cardio and resistance training format has allowed me to significantly improve my stamina and strength in a way regular gym workouts never could.
And most importantly - whether it’s coaches or other members, I’ve made so many friends at the Navy Yard studio. It’s made me feel like I have a place in this sometimes transient feeling D.C. neighborhood. It’s a fun, welcoming, and positive community that I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to join.

If you’re looking for a challenging, fun, dynamic, and supportive community-based fitness studio, look no further! I cannot stress enough how impactful this place and its people are. I started going to F45 two years ago to improve my mental and physical health, and I can genuinely say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been, and with each staff member’s help, I feel empowered to work hard every day. F45 is for everyone at every stage/physical fitness level, and the coaches can work with you to modify the exercises based on your abilities or injuries. I’ve never felt so accepted or supported in a gym, and I would highly recommend giving it a try! Get ready to sweat a lot and have the time of your life!!

Where to start! I’ve been at this studio for a little over a year now and it’s been such a wonderful experience. From my very first day all the coaches have been welcoming and motivating. I was lucky enough to go through my entire pregnancy working out with this crew and it was such a beautiful journey, I felt safe and the coaches were knowledgeable about prenatal exercising (shout out to my girl Amy 🫶🏽). The classes can be tailored to your fitness level and are as challenging as you make it. Most of all the classes are FUN!

I've been going to this gym basically since it opened (and candidly, I do work there as a coach now)! But I think that's evidence of the impact this community has had in my life.
F45 programming is built so that you can pick and choose the classes you want to go to - and you will see related results. However, there's so much room to grow and you can go every day if that's what you're looking for.
However, my favorite part of this gym is the community. The members are dedicated, friendly, and actually friends. Granted, it can be hard to start a gym that feels like everyone knows each other. But staff works hard to make sure newbies are welcomed and supported throughout the process.

Huge F45 fan, been one for years. I’ve had the opportunity with the passport to go to a lot of really cool gyms and meet lots of cool people because I travel for work.
I drove 25 min from where I’m staying for a work conference to this location, and was less than 30 seconds late to the start of this class and was locked out.
I thought this was ridiculous, unfair, have never seen this before at the 30+ gyms I’ve been to, and most importantly this was not broadcast on the app. I understand punctuality is important, but the least valuable part of the entire F45 experience is the coaches showing you the workout, before the workout, where it shows you the on a TV screen for the duration of the workout the same movement the coaches showed you at the beginning.
In my 500+ classes I’ve been late before a few times, and at no time have I needed the coach to explain the movement to me. It’s kind of a ridiculous concept, considering as I said before that it is literally on a TV.
Wish them the best, but will never ever come back to this gym and support this asinine attendance policy.

It’s those type of statements …smh. The woman I chatted with over text already has the details for management, but I just wanted to let the public know there is a huge gap in customer service skills, mainly on how NOT to respond to someone who is giving you feedback on your blindspots, even someone who is only there with a promotional package.

The workouts are challenging and there are so many resources available to make sure you reach your full potential and achieve the maximum benefit on your fitness journey. I was very nervous to get back into the workout grind after COVID and after being not so in shape for a while, but Brit and all the coaches at F45 have made me want to come back every day and work harder and get stronger! Each workout is different and challenges every part of the body, and the coaches are always present to help with form and encouragement. Each 45 minute session I am burning anywhere from 500-700 calories, which is absolutely insane! The studio is brand new and is a great spot located right inside the Kelvin apartments. I feel like a part of the family already and I can’t wait to grow stronger and healthier with the F45 team!

F45 Navy Yard has absolutely transformed my fitness journey. The supportive community here is second to none - many people will provide motivating comments and encouraging to each other. Hi! Highly disappointed. I am a current F45 member who was considering switching to the navy yard location. I have a 7 day trial and completed 2 classes already. I signed up for the 6:30 am class this past Saturday. To cost a client over $200 for an unlimited plan your policies and customer service need to be revised.
To give context: I live almost a half hour away and it was raining this morning. I walked into the class at 6:33 am Juan was the coach and as I walked in station 3 was being demonstrated. At the end of the class demonstration I was told b/c there was a wait list and I wasn’t there prior to the warm up I was bumped. I was highly disappointed, I really look forward to my workouts. I felt as if I was being dismissed in a careless way. The lack of client consideration gave me pause and honestly put a bad taste in my mouth. I love F45, but wouldn’t recommend this location.

I joined 3 weeks ago and I’m so glad I did! In preparation for my upcoming wedding, I’ve been enjoying coming to the studio 4-5 times a week. The atmosphere is great and the instructors and so helpful. The playlists are always awesome! I’m feeling strong and confident after just a few weeks. Looking forward to continuing my health journey!

Shout out to BRIT, she’s full of positive energy, kind, caring and a motivating coach. I have a back injury and she always keeps an eye on me during class and offers modification. I absolutely love her classes, and highly recommend her & the studio!

F45 is amazing and the staff are great. I have been trying to get into weight training for a while but couldn't find the right gym, until I came across F45.
I have always been a runner, but never a weightlifter. The staff at F45 are eager to correct my form and make sure I get the most out of each class.

I've never been a believer of boutique, group fitness classes, but F45 has changed my mind! The coaches are inspirational and great with corrections, the workouts are unique, and while you leave exhausted, you're also feeling accomplished. Highly recommend to anyone - try the 7 day trial and you won't regret it.

I spent my first class being taught by the studio manager Brit and she truly made me feel comfortable, welcomed, and capable. Going to a new gym for the first time is TERRIFYING for me. She is a fun, caring, hard coach that will push you past what you thought were your limits.
The following day, I took Juan and Franks class and had a similar experience. They didNOT let me slack and pushed me to the end of every buzzer when all I wanted was to drop. They were encouraging coaches who really focused on my form and always made sure I was comfortable.
Brit and Amy combined are a DYNAMIC DUO!! They were SO FUN - dancing and goofing off with the clients which made the environment so welcoming, fun and silly. It almost made me forget that was about to vomit because of how hard the work out was.
All in all, 10/10 experience and cannot wait to be back in DC to take their classes again.
The coaches are what make a gym for me, and these guys did not disappoint. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! xx

I have always been intimidated by group classes, lifting with people that are stronger than me, but Britt and the coaches have been so amazing! Such an encouraging and motivating team!

My wife and I have been going to the free bootcamps that were offered in the lead up to the studio opening for several months. We enjoyed those and absolutely love the classes in the studio. You walk out knowing you have put in serious work. The classes are tough, but they move really quickly so you don't really have time to realize how hard you're working. All the instructors are incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm excited to make F45 part of my regular fitness routine!

Each workout is a rapid butt kick and you don’t have time to think, you just work.
Brit Jones runs the studio and is excellent. She’s not only a motivating & knowledgeable instructor in the gym but she’s an incredibly responsive manager.
