Gladiator Strong Fitness is a traveling personal training and massage therapy group located in Noma. Providing effective exercise and wellness to residents of Washington D.C and surrounding areas. We specialize in weight loss and fitness transformations. These services are suitable for every fitness level. We tailor each workout with with enough intensity for that client to achieve their personal fitness goals. We host one on one personal training sessions, group sessions and Boot camp. I found Shawn through online reviews nearly two years ago after relocating to DC and having not so good experiences with two female trainers. I’ve trained weekly with female trainers for years so I was a bit hesitant to work with Shawn. But, I got lucky with him. We trained 3-4x a week for nearly two years getting me from pandemic sedentary back into athletic shape. He’s very knowledgeable, professional, tweaked my workouts as needed to keep me challenged and worked with me through schedule conflicts, travel and hormonal changes. Sadly, I only said farewell because I moved away otherwise he’d have me as a customer for life. Book now, it’ll be worth it. Invest in yourself!

Shawn is the BEST of the BEST! He is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. What stands out about Shawn is how he goes above & beyond to completely tailor workouts based on your fitness level, if you have an injury, and your fitness goals. These personalized workouts will keep you not only help you reach your goals, keep you healthy/free from injury, but will also keep you super motivated. He is extremely easy to work with in terms of scheduling and is always flexible. I can't highly recommend him enough more as a personal trainer, motivator, and muscle magician! What do I mean by muscle magician? If ever you are sore in a particular area, he will show you how to perform a certain exercise that will help it feel better during and following your session. He knows the body muscles inside and out like no other! Trust that he is worth every penny for his very reasonable personal training sessions and that you will find yourself genuinely looking to working out with him! You will be in better shape, healthier, and happier because of Shawn as your personal trainer!

Shawn is an excellent trainer. I am very happy with the progress I've made since I started working with him both in my strength and overall endurance level. I am very happy with the progress I made from working out with Shawn! I worked with him both in person and via Zoom when the pandemic hit. He is very adaptable and creative, and customized my workouts based on my abilities and whatever equipment I had available. I always appreciated the flexibility with my schedule. I started working with Shawn before and during the pandemic and he's great! We adapted to challenging outdoor workouts after the gyms closed and created virtual classes to have as many options as possible. He is friendly and knowledgeable but will still push you to meet your health and fitness goals. No yelling or any of that crazy stuff that some other trainers might push and also no filming and putting everything on social media either. He just focuses on you and your progress in every session. I highly recommend him!

I really enjoy working out with Shawn. That’s saying a lot when working out is something I do because I know I need to and definitely not something I do for fun. He keeps things interesting and there is never the same workout twice. Shawn took the time to learn about me as an individual, tailors the workouts specifically to me, and modifies if needed yet pushes me beyond anything I would do on my on. He’s extremely knowledgeable about his craft and I feel like I have a partner on this journey with me. I highly recommended Shawn and Gladiator Strong Fitness.

I’ve never enjoyed working out and still don’t on my own, but Shawn is the trainer I went from seeing a couple times a week to 3x a week and if I had the time, would see 4x a week! He communicates promptly via text and calendar invites for sessions and has been forthcoming with at-home work out plans when I’m traveling and healthy eating habits recommendations. He motivates me during our sessions to give it everything I have that day whilst keeping an eye on my posture, especially because I have constant low back pain. Speaking of back pain, he is extremely knowledgeable in the human body and how it should move compared to how it moves when there is pain in specific body parts. Working out with him, I am stronger and have felt less pain in my back less frequently! He is also a certified massage therapist so when I pull a muscle or am feeling particularly stiff, he will incorporate stretches that will relieve the immediate pain. I definitely feel and see the progress and it’s all thanks to Shawn! Changing my lifestyle to include working out with him is an investment worth spending my money on rather than going to the doctor for pain meds, surgery consultations, and even fad diets. He knows I want to lose weight/inches and he works with me to achieve just that while working to strengthen my back/core because as the professional, he knows the importance of realistic, long term, and lasting results to keep me physically healthy and strong. I enjoyed working with Sean. We worked out three times a week for close to a year, and he was always very professional. Each time, he would have a workout planned that helped push me to get stronger. He's not the type to yell or be aggressive, but he is dedicated, and having him helped me improve my strength and energy.

I easily give Shawn and Gladiator Fitness 5-Stars. I provided my targeted goals during the initial consultation. Under Shawn's training and guidance, I went from 195lbs to 175lbs/20% body fat to 13% body fat, in a little less than four months. Definitely plan to continuing training with Gladiator Fitness!

I’ve been training with Shawn since the beginning of the year (Jan 2019) and the results are amazing! Even though, it’s twice a week, I do other workouts at home (of course I ask him which workouts I should do) and I’ve seen great changes. I’ve definitely gained muscle and shed some weight. Of course, I check weekly, my target areas and everything is changing for the better! I dragged my bestie along and she’d seen results within two weeks of training. I’d recommend him if you’re planning to make a great change physically and mentally. You for sure walk out a different person when you completed your session!

I'm in my early 40s and recovering from microdiscectomy as a result of a herniated disc and foot drop. A very active lifestyle was taken away from me; put on some weight, lost strength and stamina, and confidence took a blow. I hesitated for a long time to hire a trainer because I was pessimistic that I'd find someone with the patience and empathy to understand my situation and explain how and why we'll workout the way we do.
I scheduled an initial consultation which lasted a bit more than an hour. I asked a ton of questions and got quality answers, then did a a fitness evaluation. I decided to initially work with him 2x a week but after the first week, my fiancée got jealous, and Shawn was able to manage dual sessions with us while still providing quality attention.
Oh, and he comes to the gym in our building to train us!
Me- early 40s, avid soccer player and half marathoner pre surgery.
She- mid 30s, very experienced yogi
While we have different profiles and strengths/weaknesses, we had a common goal- improve *functional* fitness to make everyday movement more efficient, mechanically correct, and less injury prone.
My primary goal is not the most jacked arms, fastest marathon, or most powerful squat, but rather be functionally fit to live a happy life. Tj be able to run a 10K instead of a half, to get back to soccer and tennis, and to be able to everyday things like playing with kids. He understood all of that and catered our workouts as such. The weight will drop, the times will get faster, and the fit physique will come back.
If you want to work with someone who takes the time to listen, focused laser sharp on proper form, and manages you as a client rather than a workout session... then Shawn is your guy. I consider him part of my healthcare team, and often compare notes between him and my other specialists.

My experience working out with Shawn has been great! Some words that come to mind when I think about Shawn are: patient, motivating, and flexible. Shawn works hard to accommodate my schedule. I stopped working out for years after rupturing my Achilles' tendon. I lost my desire to exercise and regardless of how many times I rejoined the gym, I had no motivation to workout.
I made my mind up to spend my hard earned money on a personal trainer. I found Shawn from Gladiator and now I'm back on the grind. Shawn is super knowledgeable and very professional. Every workout changes, which is great for the body! Shawn knows his stuff!
I never planned to continue after my initial 3 months but now I'm hooked. I am dependent on the variety and results of my workouts with Shawn and plan to keep up. Thank you Gladiator! Keep up the great workouts!
