I signed up for their intro week and let me tell ya, I just reached half way through my trial and I have fallen in love! This studio is not only perfect for hot yoga but every instructor is so eloquent and more than happy to help in any way. I love the vibe of this studio and am so lucky I found my new shala 🥹💖

I had Lara for my first Bikram class and she made it so accessible that I actually went back for more 😅 I've been practicing here for over a year now and over 100 classes. Very welcoming community and wonderful teachers. Personally, as someone who has practiced Iyengar yoga for a long time and loves the strict discipline, I appreciate the more traditional approach of teachers like Allison. I mostly take the 90 minute classes and ALL of their teachers and kind and knowledgeable. Thank you for having me!

I will start out by saying - I absolutely love Hot Yoga Capitol Hill! Lara and Lashone are so warm, loving, and phenomenal instructors. Unfortunately, I have to give 3 stars due to an experience I had here with Allison Key a while back that ultimately left a bad taste in my mouth where I chose to go elsewhere to another studio. I have chosen to come back, only because Lashone and Lara are my favorite instructors despite my awful experience with Allison Key. I had a 6am Hot yoga class with Allison Key, my first time experiencing her which I was originally super excited for as I was trying new instructors at the studio. Allison starts out by yelling at me for going upstairs without checking in with her first, but I actually did not see her - she was dressed in a yellow raincoat (I thought she was a crossing guard). She yells at me and belittles me and says “well i’m asking if you’ve been here before because Ive never seen you before” and she says it not only with a nasty attitude but also a disturbing facial expression. She even stops in the middle of the class to call me out to say “phones are not allowed in this class, next time leave it in your locker” while I was not on my phone at all - I’m in the middle of a yoga pose and my phone is far from me. This completely ruined my morning as, again, this is a 6am session so she is the first person of the day I’m interacting with, which regretfully set the tone for my day. As a yoga instructor, you are also a energy worker, and a teacher which ultimately makes you above me, I do not trust her as an instructor. We all have our bad days, but that was a lasting impression that I regretfully had of her.

Best studio I’ve found in DC. The owner/instructor is so warm and welcoming and kind. They have two showers and plenty of bathroom space upstairs. There is fresh pressed juice for sale by a local vendor at the front desk. The best part is they keep their class sizes small and have marks on the floor to indicate where your mat should be so everyone is plenty spaced out. Other studios in the city pack in as many people as possible, giving you under 6 inches between mats, with strangers on top of you.

Wonderful community of students and excellent teachers. I always feel seen and appreciated here. They have a variety of classes, but my favorite is the 90min Bikram 26&2 class.

Just traveled to DC from Europe and had back pain and a tension headache as a result. Went to 90 minute hot yoga with LaShone on the morning of Christmas Eve. It was super; she was great and atmosphere felt very friendly; back ache is gone - and I will definitely return.

No doubt this is a 5-star studio! I purchased the new student unlimited pass and did the Hot 26 express with Allison and Yoga Sculpt with Amber. I can tell the Hot 26 class is quality but it wasn't for me. I enjoy vinyasa style more than bikram which is why I've returned to yoga sculpt every Tuesday evening! Amber is a fantastic instructor from her voice, to directions, to her overall just welcoming and warming personality. I cannot recommend her classes more. My one recommendation for the studio would be to upgrade the cubbies on the first floor to have locks. There are lockers upstairs but I don't always want to go upstairs to lock my phone.

Hot Yoga Capitol Hill has been my yoga home since moving to DC two years ago. Its an incredibly tight knit, women-owned community studio with a great range of offerings (classic hot yoga, vinyasa, hot pilates, piyo (pilates/yoga combo), barre and more). I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

The studio needs better ventilation. It started to become hard to breathe like there wasn't enough oxygen circulating in the studio. I had to step out to the back and catch some air and then return to the class a few times to avoid passing out. Seemed like it could be a safety issue for some folks...

No other real complaints, instructor was cool, atmosphere felt chill and unpretentious could use some renovation and repair here and there. For $40 for the month it's not bad. Not sure if I would pay more than that though...

I love this studio so much that I had to come back and write a second review! I have been attending classes here for a while now and I can really speak to the atmosphere of the studio, the quality and care of the instructors and the benefits of practicing hot yoga.

HYCH’s studio is so comfortable, welcoming and inviting. It truly feels like my home away from home. The studio is cleaned daily and they offer showers that makes it convenient, especially on days when your schedule is packed. They have a new water filtration system for practitioners who bring their own bottles and other beverages that you can purchase. Sometime after a hot and juicy class there is fresh fruit waiting for you in the lobby ☺️.

I have grown to love all of the instructors at the studio. They really get to know you in a way that is conducive to helping you grow in your practice. They are always very supportive, friendly, and encouraging. Each instructor is always helpful and given me clear instructions in order for me to take and benefit from postures. I really love all of the diverse teaching styles. Yoga at this studio has really transformed me mentally, spiritually and physically!

I have been at the studio for about a year before moving - I am quite addicted to the heated room and work out almost everyday (when I have time twice!), this to say that I have been to several studios and Hot Yoga Capitol Hill is just the BEST studio for variety of classes, quality of instructors, price/quality ratio, cleanliness of the space, sense of community. Lara, the owner, seemed to me a very kind woman who is not afraid to experiment with her business and to constantly improve it. Lara has assembled a dream-team, all teachers are superstars, I am not exaggerating... I recommend Rebecca, Alison, Jessie and David for hot yoga, Ari for vinyasa, La Shone for EVERYTHING!, Cincere for hot pilates. Last but not least, Mariam for HIIT Barre, this class is unique in the area and one of the best full-body workouts you can ever have in 60 mins, it incorporates props and work small muscles and core... Mariam has years of experience and it shows when you take her class. The studio is a big family, worth trying even if you are not a regular in the heated room.

I love the energy and vibes of the teachers and participants. I have attended two classes with Kayleigh and she had been pretty amazing. She is great at pushing me when she see's the opportunities and supporting me when I need it! I look forward to sweating because you you all!

I stumbled across this place on groupon and am so excited that I did! I began on Tuesday and have been attending everyday!
I have had three instructors thus far, my first instructor was David G. He has been very instrumental and influential in what I have learned. He has corrected me on my form and provided me with a ton of support. He has a great pace.
I also had Allison K and she too has a great tempo and energy. She also has a nice sense of humor.
Most recently, I had LaShone W and I truly appreciated her! Her yoga has a different flare. One, her class had music. Then he sets, pace, target areas- were pleasantly different from the other classes that I had participated in. I loved it so much!
I love how much I sweat, make sure you come here ready to be drencheddd.
The studio is a perfect size. The locker room is pretty small. There's one bathroom stall, three showers, one bench...Theres maybe 12 or so lockers (Ive always been able to secure a locker). There are towels and water available for a small fee but i suggest that you just bring your own.
There's street parking available, H street can be a struggle sometimes but it usually works out.

New Year’s Eve was a great class as are all classes at H Street. Journaling intentions, meditating to the celestial sound of a live gong, 90 minutes in my yoga practice ending at 12am was an inspiring way to bring in the new year. The yoga instructor, staff and participants aided in a wonderful experience. I am grateful for being able to participate.

My daughter and I thought that we were going to enjoy a hot yoga class together, but this class was horrible! I wasn’t sure if we paid them by the instructor’s (Allison) rude treatment of us her students. While the class states that it is designed for all levels, it does not cater to anyone who may have to take a break from the 105 degree room that smelled of odors not pleasant to the nose or pass out. Upon returning to the class, I attempted to at least practice some of my own slight moves only to be told to just lie still. The instructor did not even demonstrate the moves so I was following a student who must attend regularly. Then when we left early, again, she followed us and told us in a scolding voice what to do with the mats! We had a different idea in mind!! There are better hot yoga classes out there in DC!!

I've been going to this studio here and there for years now. It was great to begin with but I can tell you for certain that they are continually making new updates-keeping it fresh and interesting. I know a lot of folks new to Yoga are nervous about it so if its your first time I'd highly recommend the SPA yoga class that happens Friday and Sundays. It's the best place to ease into yoga and also incredible for avid practitioners. You won't find a kinder staff.

I'm usually fine with hot yoga, but this room was so hot and so overcrowded that I started to feel faint and had to leave. The instructor berated me for leaving as I stumbled out, when I couldn't even walk straight. I proceeded to pass out in the main lobby, and when I woke up realized she had not come out to check on me, nor did any other employee. I was shocked by how I was treated as a student.

First time going. Signed up for hot 26 express. From the moment I came in the woman at the desk was rude and gave off such Negative energy. Talking over you, not offering any details to new customers. She even told a customer in front of me to “re-write her name on the waiver so that it’s legible” after slamming her credit card on the counter. She was extremely unwelcoming and short. I was super disappointed when I realized she was also the instructor for the class. Amber’s pacing was fast and she never hesitated to call people out for not doing a move to her standards and TELLING you when you could drink water. Any class that Amber is teaching I will be sure to stay away from. Also don’t choose this class if your a first timer, due to her pacing it will not be the easiest transition. HOWEVER Alba made all th difference! I was optimistic enough to try another class (bought a month pass) The Spa yoga was AMAZING! So relaxing, candles lit tranquil music, very zen. I will going back Just because of this experience with Alba.

The place it not fancy, Ive had better amenities at other studios and for the price, i dont see why they cant offer more - colder water, better floors.

I laid my mat on the taped part of the floor and when i picked my mat up after class the floor glue tore my mat.

The teachers are great and friendly and they have a great frequent student program.
