After moving here from Boston in summer 2025, I was nervous that I wouldn't find a new yoga studio homebase like the one I had. However, from the minute I walked into Mimi's studio, I knew this place was something special.

The space is always immaculately clean (and smells great too!), which creates an immediate sense of peace. The community is friendly and welcoming, and the teachers' flow sequences are creative and fun, keeping every practice fresh and challenging.

With a great variety of classes and interesting workshops, there's a lil something for everyone. Highly recommend this studio to anyone in the area.

This is hands down the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is welcoming, the classes are thoughtfully designed, and the variety is incredible—from strength-building pilates (Allison and Jesika) to deeply relaxing sessions (Grace). But Mimi is the absolute best teacher! Her Vinyasa/power/happy hour flow classes are a perfect combination of challenge and release, and she brings such energy, clarity, and care to every session (and love her playlist). I also really appreciate that there are online options available. With my schedule, I can’t always make it to Mimi’s class in person every week—but thanks to the option to join via Zoom or catch up with the recordings later, I never have to miss out. Can’t recommend it enough!

Michael’s Yin class at MRY has become our Sunday reset. Michael curates the prompts for the class masterfully with the music selected for the duration of the yin sequence. Each pose is intentionally paired with a mantra, poem, or prompt to guide you deeper into your spiritual practice. He’s great at providing you with options for the poses, as well and offers hands-on adjustments or props that allow you to feel supported in each pose. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing end to the weekend!

I’ve been coming to this studio and taking Mimi’s classes for over 4 years now and I can honestly say this is my #1 place of zen. Mimi is so nurturing and calm but pushes you in the best way. She takes time to get to know you and your practice and makes sure to remind you of your goals and gives you tools to achieve them. I’m even going to do my teach training with her and George in the Fall of 2025! Do yourself a favor and join the MR community…you won’t regret it!

Top yoga studio in DC! I started going here a year and a half ago after trying many others in the area and it’s only gotten better and better. There’s a variety of different classes and teachers who offer their unique teaching styles and perspective on yoga. Workshops are offered regularly to help deepen your practice and the community is unbeatable. If Smithsonian opens a Yoga Museum, I’d expect MRY to be featured.

I got my 200-hour power yoga teacher certification with MRY and am forever grateful! It changed my life. I've made some of my dearest friends through this community and I leave each class feeling stronger, energized, and more grounded. Also, her retreats are the best! I loved Costa Rica so much that I already signed up for the next one. Mimi is our D.C. guru- I couldn't recommend more! xo

I really love MRY. The studio has a great mix of powerful vinyasa classes that really get you sweating, as well as restorative and yin options for when you need something gentler. The community is welcoming, and the instructors, especially Mimi, are knowledgeable and supportive. MRY has been a safe space to explore and grow in my yoga practice.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a yoga retreat hosted by the talented Mimi Rieger in Stowe, Vermont, during early October. The timing was perfect, as it coincided with the peak fall foliage, offering breathtaking scenery that truly enriched the experience. We stayed at the beautifully recognized Sterling Forest Lodge, which was featured in the New York Times just a week before our arrival. Nestled within 40 acres of pristine land, surrounded by majestic white pines and maple trees and inviting trails, the lodge provided a serene and rejuvenating atmosphere.

From the outset, it was evident how thoughtfully every activity was planned for our group of 15 women, whose ages ranged from late 20s to late 40s. Among us was a mother-daughter duo from Texas, adding even more diversity to the mix. Each day began with a morning yoga practice that was nothing short of magical. Mimi's talent truly shone during these sessions; her expertly curated playlists and expertly guided flows made this my favorite part of each day. Practicing yoga with a panoramic view of the vibrant autumn landscape and view of the vista amplified the tranquility and beauty of our surroundings.

Every meal we enjoyed during the retreat was home-cooked, ayurvedic, and made from locally sourced, healthy ingredients. It was like feasting on nourishment that fed both the body and soul. One of the standout activities was a unique skincare routine featuring organic, plant-based alchemy, held outdoors in the serene setting. Following that, we indulged in a hydro circuit that included a rejuvenating hot sauna and an invigorating ice bath. It was an experience that left us all feeling relaxed both physically and mentally. The first evening was wrapped up with a slow flow yoga session and a soothing sound bath, creating a perfect transition into restful nights.

One of the most memorable adventures was the gondola ride from the top of a mountain, offering an unparalleled view of the kaleidoscopic autumn foliage. We also enjoyed a wine tasting and a shopping spree downtown Stowe, immersing ourselves in the charm of this New England town. As night fell, we gathered around a bonfire for a closing circle, sharing our thoughts and reflections—a bonding experience that brought us even closer together.

Throughout the retreat, we set daily intentions and had the opportunity to choose tarot cards, adding a spiritual touch to our journey. Some attendees were seasoned retreat-goers, while others were experiencing this for the first time. Regardless of their background, every woman expressed deep appreciation for the retreat, mentioning how peaceful and present they felt—and how full their hearts were with joy.

It’s clear that the magic of this retreat stemmed from the incredible presence of Mimi herself. Her warmth, guidance, and passion for yoga created an atmosphere that fostered connection and growth. I eagerly look forward to attending more of her retreats in the future and will certainly visit her studio to continue my yoga journey in the meantime.

In summary, Mimi Rieger's retreat in Stowe was a transformative experience that surpassed all expectations. It reminded me of the power of connection, healing, and the beauty of nature. If you have the chance, don't hesitate to join one of her retreats—you’ll leave with a fuller heart and a soul brimming with peace.

I love Mimi Rieger Yoga! It has become my go to neighborhood yoga studio, and becoming a member is one of the best recent decisions that I have made. All of the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, and I love the variety of styles and flavors that all lead to a great workout and me feeling better than I did when I came in. It feels like a community oriented place to practice, versus somewhere overly corporate with the same exact flow every time.

I'm used to practicing hot yoga in a roomy studio. This was cold yoga and our mats were about 8-12 inches apart. I went to a Rocket session, supposed to be power flow but I didn't find it all that challenging except for dodging my neighbors' limbs. Overall, it was ok but don't think I will be back.

Mimi Rieger Yoga is an invigorating and transformative place that challenges both the body and mind. I love power yoga since blends strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, resulting in increased vitality, improved focus, and a sense of inner calm. I lost a lot of weight which was one my main goals. To get all these great benefit, I go to Mimi Yoga.

If you want a studio that will help you grow your practice and learn to do things you never thought you could, go to Mimi's studio. Mimi has been my main teacher for years! The teachers she's assembled are also amazing. And the sense of community is real. Folks chat, encourage each other, and just enjoy being there. In the world of yoga today, Mimi's studio is one of the few places for advanced yoga practice and learning.
