I have been a member at OTF Union Market for over three years now, hundreds of classes in (I actually began this workout at a studio across the country). There's no OTF like Union Market, complete with the friendliest staff, the most motivating coaches, and an overall commitment to the highest quality workout and environment. More so than most studios, the coaches and front desk staff strive to be inclusive of everyone, and even special touches like remembering what tread station I prefer really helps solidify their exemplary service. "Half the battle is showing up," but it's not much of a battle when I love this studio and community so much.

Clean showers and towel service aren't bad perks either!!

My second place! The best energy, crowd and coaches honestly.

I love orange theory and have been going since 2020 to several studios, and Union Market is by far my favorite studio! The coaches and friendly & fun atmosphere has kept me coming back for the past couple years :-) I feel so comfortable working out here, everyone is down to earth and happy to be here. Coach Jaime, Coach Bree, Coach Jeff and Coach Abi are my usual coaches, but everyone else is super fun!

Workout wise, I love that coaches demo and walk you through every exercise and will correct your form. There are plenty of options to modify if you need to, running vs power walking etc. Overall it’s a fantastic and accessible workout that I’ll keep coming back for! And it is worth the money 👏🏼

I love going to this studio! I have been a member of this studio for over a year and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a workout class that will keep you on track for your fitness goals. The variety in work outs and high energy of the classes helps keep me motivated to keep coming back and to continue my fitness journey. The equipment is always clean and I can usually get the weights I want on the floor. All of the coaches are incredible and do a great job of staying engaged throughout the class!

OTF has gotten me, someone who has hated to work out, to look forward to showing up and trying my hardest. Abi is my favorite coach at this studio. She’s very positive, encouraging, and corrects my form in a constructive way. (The other coaches that I’ve had classes with here are cool, but Abi really is next level awesome.)
I’d probably actually rate this studio 4.5. There are parts of the room where my heart rate isn’t read correctly. And I’ve only experienced it at this studio — I’ve been to a few now. And with so much of the attention being on your heart rate, that feels like a big deal. Nevertheless, I still love it, and I’ll keep coming.

"Release" form is pretty wild: "You hereby . . . assume all liability . . . indemnify, and agree to defend us . . . from liability for any . . . cause of action, suit, demand, and damages . . . arising from or related to: . . . (4) any negligence on our part (including our employees) or on the part of any employee at any other OTF studio." Wasn't going to leave a review about it, but the front desk also doesn't answer the phone, so I'm having a hard time canceling my trial appointment.

I had the pleasure of visiting OTF Union Market this week! The front desk staff was welcoming and very efficient! They had the form I needed to sign right at the front. I was able to quickly sign and was ready to start class. Coach Bree lead a great class! She was positive, enthusiastic, & even did the last core blast with us! At the end the front desk had the birthday sign for my friend that we were able to take a picture with. Thank you Union Market for the great experience & warm welcome!! 🧡

Love Orangetheory! A great workout every time - generally a third treadmill, a third free weights, a third rowing. The heart rate monitor that shows you via screens on your machine what color “zone” you’re in is very motivating. Responsive front desk - if you ever need to call them because you booked the wrong class and need it manually fixed, they’re very quick and happy to do so. I appreciate that this location is right next to a Trader Joe’s so you can get some errands done after your workout. Shout out to coaches Bree and Jeff!

I have been going to Orangetheory for a few months and really enjoy it! The staff are super friendly and helpful. I am very new to fitness so my instructor (I usually have the same person each class) always makes sure to check in on me and help me with my form or answer any questions. Although expensive, I am someone who is easily intimidated and deterred by "regular" gyms so this is worth it me.

Super clean. Well designed.

One of the best layouts I’ve seen in some of the over 40+ studios I’ve seen in traveling. I like the separation of the treads and floor (like a T design). Still feels communal like all studios just not everything shoved into a square and compacted. Restrooms and showers on both sides of the entrance hall. Towel service provided. Nice front entrance area. This studio is definitely one of the larger ones. Feels a bit more upscale.

Special shout-out to Chloe (6:00 AM class) as she is an excellent coach. Encouraging throughout that shows she enjoys what she does. Excellent music selection.

Only reason I didn’t give this place five stars is they haven’t gone through the equipment refresh but probably due to logistical issues and the waiting list that many studios have dealt with.

Highly recommended if you are nearby the Union Station area. NOMA has a feel that it will be the next the place to be given all the development in the area while still holding onto some of the historical charm.

I joined OTF late last year after canceling my membership about 3 years ago. My biggest issue in the past with OTF has been the format, since it's hard for coaches to make sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly, etc. But I have been pleasantly surprised by most coaches from the Union Market location. Everyone from the front desk staff to most of the coaches have been wonderful, friendly, and helpful. I love Kennady, Abby, and Abi. They all take the time to make sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly, encourage people throughout the workout, and are just real pros.

The reason I am giving this particular location four stars instead of five stars is due to a new coach who has been given more and more evening classes who is just not good. I was in his first class (ever) and he did not know what he was doing - at one point he thought we all needed to be on the floor at the same time, which caused confusion in the room. He is very nice, but needs a lot more training. I am likely going to cancel my membership if he continues to teach most of the evening classes during the week since I can't take morning classes due to my work schedule, and this limits my options of taking classes with more experienced coaches who do know what they are doing and as a result I get a better, more challenging workout.

Great location with free parking in Union Market.

This afternoon I took an amazing class lead by Sharné. Her knowledge of the workouts, energy, and charisma was infectious and motivated the class. Even though this studio isn’t in my neighborhood, I’ll definitely be making the trek over to work out with her again.

Went for only one class so far. Can't rate based on that experience. It was well maintained, instructor was very friendly and helpful, cleaned after every class.

Been coming to this OTF location for almost a year. Staff is very amicable - from the trainers to those serving on the front desk - and they take every effort to make you feel comfortable.

Regardless of your fitness goals, OTF has been a good way to keep in general shape. I’ve lost weight, gained muscle, and improved my cardio. Trainers are always ready to provide advice or support, from correcting your form to helping you manage discomfort.

OTF is an investment into your health, so I feel very happy paying for my membership. I don’t have much free time and it’s been a surefire way to stay healthy during busy periods at school.

The front desk people are too pushy when it comes to selling a membership. You also have to buy one of their heart rate monitors (~$100).

Having a gym membership in the city can be very expensive and is very much an investment at these prices. I felt like I was being pressured into spending tons of money before I could fully process how the "free" trial class was.

After leaving without a membership I was called every other day for weeks to see if I would sign up for a membership or do another class (at a reduced cost).

There are other workout studios in the area that I would recommend trying out instead. Most of them are not pushed as much by corporate to sell sell sell.

This location opened up earlier this month and I am impressed! The studio is very large and clean and the staff was very friendly when I came in for a workout today.

I am a member at another nearby studio and I have been to many other studios around the country. I think this studio may be the nicest one I've been to (probably next to the Columbus studio which was gigantic and luxurious).

Coach Brittany is great and super motivating! She has a positive attitude and at one point was cheering someone on who had met a personal goal on the treadmill.

The location here can't be beat and it's conveniently located by Union Market and Trader Joe's. I love Orangetheory and can't wait to come back! Welcome to DC!
