I have been going to SWEAT DC H St. for about a year. My trainer is Alex and I highly recommend him. He is an awesome trainer (and no, I’m not his mother…but certainly old enough to be!). He is fun, kind and pushy in exactly the way that we all need a bit of prodding to get out of our comfort zones! Couldn’t be happier! SWEAT is also super flexible and for me (which is awesome since I am only here twice a year for 3 month periods.

I've been going to Sweat DC's H Street location for close to 6 months now, primarily for personal training sessions with Alex Palmer. The whole experience has been great. It's a fabulous facility with super friendly staff. And can't say enough good things about Alex - he has designed a program that has helped me make huge strides in a short period of time. He challenges me but always in a way that is upbeat & supportive. Can't recommend Sweat or Alex any higher.

Finding a new gym can be one of the most uncomfortable things, especially when you’re not feeling your best and have to show up in front of strangers. But from my very first visit, it felt like they already knew me and genuinely wanted to help. Once I started private sessions, what I appreciated most was how consistent my trainers were. I love SWEAT DC. I used to be afraid of lifting weights, but through this gym, I’ve actually learned how to lift confidently. As a woman of color, I had been looking for a space that truly felt inclusive—and SWEAT DC, along with its founder Coach G, absolutely lives up to that reputation. Recently, as the economy and my work situation have been unpredictable, they’ve still welcomed me into classes in a way that you don’t typically experience at DC studios. I’ve been going for two months and loving it. The classes are engaging, the gains are real, and the coaches are nice. It’s a little pricey if you want to go more than twice a week but otherwise a great way to have a good workout.

Also, there’s always room in the classes to join at short notice, at least as of the time of this review

The best gym in DC! Sweat DC has become a second home! It’s not easy to find a gym like this, that is full of love and support and takes the time to develop a program that really works and delivers results, no matter what your goals are. Love coming to Sweat! I’ve been a consistent member since June 2024 and have seen results better than I expected. The structure of the workouts is very intentional and well-planned. I love how every workout includes mobility and strength exercises that complement each other. Positive attitudes all around with all of the coaches. These classes definitely pushes you out of your comfort zone and make you aware of what you are capable of. I enjoy the classes very much, bc it's straight business, no long rests, no bs-ing around, just straight work for 35-40 mins straight (with some rest of course). You are in and you are out! If you do early mornings, a great way to start your day, if you are an end of day person, then its a great way to end your day and put you comfortably to bed following a long hot shower.

I absolutely LOVE Sweat DC! I started coming to the H St location of Sweat almost a year ago and have enjoyed every single workout and trainer that I have experienced. Everyone is so incredibly kind and encouraging with different levels of ability, body shapes, and strength levels. All of the coaches are top tier with great playlists but I will say I really do love the classes from Bri, Corbin, Hannah, Kay, Raine, & Alex C. The programming is intentional and really builds muscle! If you are new to strength training, join us! If you are experienced, still join us! I promise you these coaches will give you more weight in a challenging way. Highly, highly recommend Sweat DC - H St!

I have worked out at SWEAT on and off since they opened before having to take a hiatus to deal with personal health issues. I was so excited to finally be able to be back in the gym this week with a plan and goals! The new West End location is gorgeous and so convenient! As with the other locations the gym is well appointed, inviting, clean and fun! Everyone is welcoming and encouraging, the staff is kind, patient, knowledgeable and professional, and the overall vibe is so positive! Whether you are a life long gym rat or an almost 50yr old mom to 5 trying to figure out how to prioritize your health and wellness goals there is no better place to pursue that journey! From my perspective SWEAT offers the best of all GYM scenarios - the personal and customized touches of personal training with the community and accountability of group classes and training!

Truly the best gym in DC. Challenging weight lifting workouts which can be tailored to any fitness level and top notch coaches who empower you to be the best version of yourself in the gym and exceed your fitness goals. After being a Sweat DC—Columbia Heights member for over a year, I was thrilled to see this (much closer to work) location open up. Sweat DC is the most welcoming, un-intimidating, fun gym I have ever been a part of. Which isn't to say the workouts are easy (I am the best kind of sore when I work out there)—just that the coaches make every class accessible to every body type, fitness level, and experience level. It't the best parts of community fitness without the cult-like intensity of *other gyms*. I cannot recommend it enough no matter where you are in your fitness journey.
