My experience at Thesis has been excellent. Since joining nearly a year ago, I’ve seen significant gains in strength and pushed myself in ways I couldn’t have imagined. The facility and equipment are top-notch, and above all, it’s been such a pleasure working with my trainer, Nate. He is extremely knowledgeable about all things strength training, and his positive attitude is infectious. His approach is very collaborative (e.g., working with you to determine your goals, incorporating exercises that you like) and motivating. Without his support, I would not have made nearly as much progress. I highly recommend Thesis to anyone who is interested in strength training, regardless of whether you’ve done it before or not.

I recently started working with Natalia and the results speak for themselves since a few short months I’ve reached my heaviest bench and now easily do weighted pull ups. The gym and all trainers continue to be supportive and make the environment fun, again I would highly recommend Thesis.
I recently joined Thesis and have been blown away by my experience. As someone who has struggled with finding the motivation to work out regularly, I was skeptical about personal training gyms. However, Thesis has exceeded all my expectations. The trainers are incredibly supportive and make working out fun. They take the time to understand my goals and limitations and design workouts that are challenging yet doable.
One thing I love about Thesis is their holistic approach to fitness. The trainers don't just focus on working out but also provide nutritional guidance and support. They've helped me make better food choices and develop a healthier lifestyle overall.
The gym is also fantastic. The equipment is top-notch, and the smoothie bar is a nice bonus. The physical therapist on staff is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped me manage a chronic injury that has held me back in the past.
Oh and free nitro coffee !!
But what really sets Thesis apart is the community. The staff and other members are all incredibly welcoming and supportive. There's a sense of camaraderie and encouragement that I haven't found at other gyms. It's what keeps me coming back.
Overall, I highly recommend Thesis to anyone looking for a personalized and comprehensive approach to fitness. The trainers, facilities, and community are all amazing, and I'm so glad I decided to give them a try

The only gym I’ve ever been to that has gotten me to consistently come back. The trainers are fantastic — I’ve worked with Nate and Emily. I joined the Thesis gym two months ago and have been thrilled across the board. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. My trainer (Nate O.) is fantastic and I am seeing great results both in terms of strength gains and weight loss. Thesis has been wonderful, and especially my trainer Hannah! I was starting from the point of never having lifted weights before and being very intimidated by the gym. Hannah has taught me so much about how to properly exercise, and I feel much more confident now! And I’ve seen great results—I feel stronger and have lost weight. The training comes with nutritional help as well, and I’ve found sticking to Hannah’s advice has been very effective and sustainable.
I would highly recommend Thesis! The trainers are nice, push you (safely) to improve, and the gym is good quality and in a convenient location.

Having joined Thesis a few months ago, I would fully recommend anyone joining. The facility is always clean and organised, and all of the trainers are incredibly kind and supportive. I have been working with Evan, and he is an upbeat and positive trainer who has always been responsive to any questions I have. Having come to Thesis with some injuries, Evan has been incredibly mindful of planning with those injuries in mind and helping me rehab them while still creating challenging sessions. Compared to where I started, I have certainly improved and am in a healthier state, and I would recommend both Evan and Thesis to anyone looking to achieve the same.

I have had the best experience with Thesis, in no small part because of my trainer, Anthony, whom I recommend to anyone considering a personal trainer.
Previous to joining Thesis as a client, I think that I had stepped foot in a gym less than five times throughout my life. I was completely starting from scratch and I am sure that if I had tried to do this all with the wrong program, I may have not continued. Thankfully, the owner, Ori, takes the time to figure out what you want from the experience and pairs you with a trainer accordingly.
Anthony has been an absolute godsend. He manages to both meet me where I am at and still push me. He knows when I need to be challenged and tested and when I need encouragement and support. It is a testament to the fact that Anthony, and seemingly all the trainers at Thesis, take time to get to know their clients and what will work for them.
Something that has been important to me is to learn and understand what I am doing and how to do it correctly. From day one, without me even needing to ask, Anthony took on that same goal. He has been so committed to helping me learn form and technique and so patient with me throughout my steep learning curve. He answers my many repetitive questions and is deeply knowledgeable about human movement and the exercises that we do.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that Anthony makes the experience genuinely enjoyable. I try to gripe and grumble throughout my workout because I have never ever been someone who enjoys exercise, but Anthony handles it with such good humor that the whole thing just ends up being joyful. That's the vibe of trainers at Thesis generally; yes, they are absolutely incredible at their jobs, but they are also just really good people and enjoyable to be around. It makes it a delight to be there.
All said, if you are considering joining as a client, I would tell you that it is absolutely worth it. I fully recommend working with Anthony, and doubly so for anyone who may be hesitant to start their fitness journey.

I’ve been training at Thesis for over two years and still look forward to every session. I started with Ori, the owner, who helped build a solid foundation, and for the past 9 months I’ve been working with a new trainer who’s been equally great. The workouts are challenging and I am held accountable towards reaching my goals while still having fun in the process. It’s a no brainer that Thesis is the place to go for personal training.

Thesis has helped me consistently meet my health and fitness goals. I came to Thesis after having worked with another prominent trainer in DC for 4 months with no results. Ori, my trainer at Thesis, has been patient, flexible, responsive, non-judgmental and more invested in my success than I am.
With Thesis I have lost 18 pounds in a little over 3 months while also working 50-80 hours a week - I have minimal time for cardio, food prep, etc. but Ori has worked around my crazy schedule and lifestyle. Thesis trainers are constantly in communication with you: they help me choose what to order at restaurants in real time, checkin throughout the day on my activity levels and recovery after a tough workout. Scheduling is pretty easy because they're always responsive and with enough trainers that there is almost always someone available if I need a last minute change - no excuse not to train!
The team is so friendly and welcoming but don't let you take it easy when you're in a tough workout. Ori has pushed me to my exact limit - never over and never under. I came with injured knees and back and tight hips. Despite multiple physical constraints, Ori has found a way to train me with minimal pain. As much as I hate exercise, the trainers at Thesis help make my hour-long sessions go quickly and I have come to look forward to the routine.

I've been training with Evan at Thesis and it's been fantastic. I had my apprehensions as someone with no weight training experience but Evan made sure to tailor the program to my needs. I end each session feeling a little bit stronger than the day before, thanks in no small part to a well designed training regimen and Evan making sure I push my limits.
Nutrition is another arena where Evan's knowledge and guidance have been phenomenal. By regularly checking in on my progress and educating me on the consequences of my food habits, Evan ensures that I stay on track while also teaching me how to adapt my diet to accomodate days when maintaining a strict diet is difficult.
The gym itself has a lot of equipment and is well organized. Combined with the fact that the other trainers at the gym are all extremely friendly, I look forward to every training session.

I had never done any strength training before and wanted to build a solid foundation to set me up for success for the rest of my life. I also wanted to regain strength in my right leg after an injury. Britinni is the perfect trainer. She taught me the importance of proper form so I could get the most out of every session.
Early on in our training, I was managing a health condition that required some modifications. Britinni worked with me to strike the right balance between getting a productive workout and staying within safe, recommended limits.

Great facility with top notch equipment. Very clean. The trainers are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I worked with Nate and he made a great workout and diet plan, checking in regularly to make sure I was making progress towards my goals. The biggest difference between this gym and other personal training gyms is that the owner actually cares about his customers. I was laid off right before I joined and was struggling to find a job, but the owner immediately offered to make accommodations so I could work out with them and still make the payments. He's very thoughtful and personable, and puts customer satisfaction first. Highly recommended.

I have been at Thesis now for 6 months and have absolutely loved it. My trainer, Emily S, is kind, attentive, knowledgable and has helped me to accomplish my goals. I work out with her three times a week and genuinely look forward to it. This is the first time in my life that I have worked out consistently and I owe it to this gym and Emily. The gym atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and everyone is so kind and encouraging. Coming here was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my health.

I would like to take a few minutes to write a review on my experience at Thesis Gym. It may be a little long, but there are so many wonderful things to say, I want to make sure not to leave anything out.
After years of working out at various chain gyms in the DMV, I decided it was time to look for a program that was tailored more for my needs. A Google search for Personal Trainers brought me to Thesis Gym. The "LUXURY PERSONAL TRAINING SERVICES" caught my attention, so I decided to call and make an appointment.
On my first visit to Thesis, the owner Ori greeted me and gave me a tour of the facility. The gym is spacious, equipment is state of the art and the restrooms are immaculate (very important)! He did not give me the typical sales pitch. Instead, it was a simple, relaxed visit to see the facility and what they had to offer. He provided everything I needed to make an informed decision.
By the end of our meeting, I had decided to become a member of the Thesis family. I say "family" because everyone greets me by name and truly seems to have my best interest at heart. Even if they are not my primary trainer.
On my first official day at Thesis, we did not work out. Instead, it was a fact gathering session. I met with one of the trainers "Tall" Evan and we spent about an hour talking about my health, my goals, getting my weight and body composition and even my blood pressure (never did that at a gym before!!) After that, we started building a plan on exactly how I would approach each of my goals.
Can't leave out that we also discussed my dietary likes and dis-likes. They took that information to start building my customized meal plan. Why is this important? In order to accomplish my goals, nutrition is a MUST!! Thesis took out all of the guess work and gave me a road map of exactly what to eat and exactly how much.
Now for the really good part... My AMAZING trainer, "Big" Evan, Evan Davis! "Big" Evan had already gone over my goals with "Tall" Evan, so he knew exactly where we needed to start. Outside of the typical goals of losing weight and building muscle, I also wanted to lower my blood pressure and improve my flexibility. In just one month, Evan has helped me lose 6 pounds, build 3 pounds of muscle, lover my body fat percent by 3% and lower my BP from 147/87 to 127/82!! I even notice dramatic improvements in my flexibility.
When weight training, Evan pushes me to levels that I never thought I could go. He corrects my form on each exercise, so I get the most out of the movements. We have daily check-ins on the Thesis App, he holds me accountable for my meals, my daily weigh-ins and the assigned cardio I do on days when I'm not at the gym. My journey is just starting but I am soooooo pleased and excited with my progress. I have no doubt that Evan will help me meet and most likely surpass all my goals.

I recommend Thesis and Emily directly. I appreciate their ability to create a personal program to meet their athletes goals, whether those goals are general fitness or sport specific goals. When it was recommended I increase my strength training to meet my marathon goals, I sought assistance and I’m happy I did. Emily has provided motivation and accountability, as well as flexibility to adopt around my running schedule. I have been working out with Christian at Thesis for the last six months, and I simply can't say good enough things about this place, the people there, or the results you get if you stick to their work. From the phone consult with Ori (the owner) when I first put in my information online, to my consultation with Sean (the gym manager) on day one, and now to working out with Christian, it's been an overall amazing experience that's lost me 30 pounds and over 10% body fat. The best thing that could have happened with Sean pairing me with Christian — who's been my workout and diet sherpa, my therapist, and my understanding friend on days where I may have fallen a little short.
Ultimately, this was a great place for me to get myself on the workout train for the first time in my life, and I'm grateful that they've taken the time to really invest in me as much as I've chosen to invest in them. I can't say nice enough things about the folks at Thesis or the facility, and I'd recommend their services to anyone interested in investing in themselves and their physical fitness.

I’ve been training at Thesis with Ori (the owner) for over two years now and can’t say enough good things about the trainers, the gym, and the community they’ve created. At first I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find the time for personal training due to the demands of my job, but after just a few weeks my training at Thesis became the priority and I slowly started adding training sessions each week. I now train 4 days each week and look forward to each session.

I've been training at Thesis for 2.5 years now and it's been an incredible experience -- I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to improve their fitness, longevity, and overall wellbeing. I've trained at multiple gyms before, but none have stuck until Thesis. It's because of the quality of their trainers, the community they've built, and the comprehensive nature of their training programs.
I train with Britinni, who is a wonderful trainer. She takes my training very seriously and is thoughtful in crafting my training plans. She is very attentive and focused during our sessions. She has a holistic approach, taking into account my sleep and nutrition and adjusting my plan and sessions depending on other factors. She has built my training plans based on my specific goals and needs, and she has worked with my PT Ethan to make sure I'm training in a way that builds muscle while preventing injury. She is encouraging and tailors her approach to specific cues that work for me and based on what motivates me. She pushes me to achieve great progress, while also being gentle on days I might need more recovery. I had been intimidated by weight training before joining Thesis, but Britinni has made me feel more confident and capable in the gym. Also, I'm vegetarian and wasn't sure how I'd reach protein targets but she built an impressive list of meal options and snacks that make eating more enjoyable and satisfying.
I've also trained with Nate, Woody, Emily, and Anthony, who are all excellent trainers. My friend has trained with Evin and Lauren and has great things to say. Also, I brought my mom in to train with Marvin while she was visiting, and I was impressed with how much he was able to do in a single session. He showed her the proper form for exercises tailored to her age and specific needs, and was also able to make thoughtful suggestions for nutrition, sleep, and recovery. So basically they're all great trainers.
Beyond the training, Thesis also feels like a community where all the trainers know my name and the goals I'm working towards. It feels nice to walk in and be greeted by a warm smile from Cortez. Sean does a great job of managing the gym and will check in to make sure my training is progressing in the way I want. I was sold on the gym's method from the first time I met Ori, and it has not disappointed me since.

I would highly recommend Thesis DC and specifically my trainer Britinni to anyone looking for help with strength training. I was looking for a trainer because I keep hearing how women lose muscle mass and bone density as we age and that it’s so good for women to lift heavy weights. And I actually had noticed (thanks to DEXA scans) that I was slowly starting to lose muscle mass. Since I have no experience lifting weights and didn’t want to injure myself, I decided I should get a trainer.
I’ve now been training with Britinni for 9 months, and I could not be happier with it. In our initial meeting, she listened to my goals and then created a workout and nutrition plan personally tailored to help me achieve them. Britinni pushes me hard, having me lift more than I think I can. While she makes me work really hard, she also makes it fun, and I really look forward to our sessions together. She also helps me by keeping me accountable for my eating habits and exercise outside of the gym. She gives me tips to stay on track while I’m on vacation or just away from my routine.
Importantly, I’ve seen results from working with Britinni. I feel stronger, other people have noticed the changes, and my most recent DEXA scan shows great progress compared to the one I took before starting the program - after only 3 months, I had already lost fat and gained significant lean mass/muscle.
In addition to training with Britinni specifically, the gym is great - clean, nice facilities, and all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. When Britinni has been out of town, I’ve trained with others (Woody, Anthony, Evin, and Trevel), and they all were really great too. The gym always has a positive energy and is very well run.

My experience with Thesis overall and with my personal trainer, Nate, has been fantastic! It had been some time since I had worked out and I was nervous about getting back to the gym. However, my first consultation with the gym’s manager, Sean, put me completely at ease. He took the time to get know me as a person, as well as my fitness and nutrition goals. Best of all, he paired me with my amazing trainer Nate.
Nate met me where I was fitness and nutrition-wise. He developed a meal plan tailored to my lifestyle and will even modify it when I’m traveling or during the holidays. Since training with Nate, I feel stronger and more confident, and am totally on track to meet my fitness goals. He definitely pushes me to be my best but always provides positive, helpful feedback. My workouts are actually fun with him—something I’ve never experienced before and I always leave the gym with a smile. I can’t recommend Thesis enough, especially with trainers like Nate there.

If you have a busy lifestyle where the value of one of your hours is worth quite a lot to someone else, I would highly recommend Thesis and training with Marvin.
High quality training, responsive team, and a centralized, well-organized, metrics-based approach to helping you reach your goals. In 2 WEEKS - my body fat percentage went from 22.4% to 19.2% I also feel like I have more energy every day and am comfortable just standing (watching dogs play in creeks, in a queue, etc) for much longer periods!
Marvin is a superb trainer, efficient, and a problem-solver. I don’t know how he does it - probably science and experience but it feels magical - Marvin knows which movements and exercises lead to reaching your goals and experiencing tangible results in and out of the gym. I wanted to be able to sit and stand comfortably for long hours at my desk and Marvin has delivered and then some on those goals! I am getting results without pain and without injury and it’s kind of astonishing.
Marvin’s books are almost always full, but he always manages to find time for my sessions - even if it means staying until 9pm when he came in at 6 that morning. He is committed to learning and improvement and genuinely cares about helping his clients lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
I also traveled to Japan recently (Nov. 2024) with my dad, who is strong, but he’s also almost 70 years old. We had a much more active trip than expected - practically backpacked half the days of our eight day journey. I don’t know how I would have managed if not for my training with Marvin. I was able to heft my own bags and even carry my dad’s wheeled suitcase when the ground was uneven. Thanks to Marvin & Thesis DC, we were able to see more and enjoy more of our bucket-list trip through Japan.
The facilities may seem small to the eye at first, but it is truly a full-service experience. And when you walk in, you feel welcomed. It’s not bro-ey or clique-y. The whole team is truly good vibes all around. I see people of all walks of life coming in to train and the trainers are enthusiastic and helpful. When the gym is busier, it feels busy (ofc) but not crowded and there’s minimal if any waiting for equipment.
Other things worth mentioning:
— Thesis takes a scientific and metrics-based approach to training and most of this information is organized and easily accessible on a Thesis-specific app. The app is *actually* user-friendly and convenient, which I appreciate greatly. The app has all my training sessions, video tutorials, progress and nutrition tracking. When we train, Marvin keeps track of the weights and reps in the workouts section, I track my meals, and every 2 weeks we have a check in that includes a full body scan. I don’t use the entire app to full capacity, but I love that I can track a meal with just a picture and a caption with the relevant macros and Marvin can easily see what I’ve been logging.
— The Thesis app also makes it easy for me to contact Marvin, schedule (or reschedule) sessions and see my full training schedule.
— There are lockers with digital codes inside and outside of the locker rooms. The gym facilities and locker room are clean and feel luxe. (I am sensitive to dust and mold so clean is a big must for me!).
— Transparency in the sign up process. Getting personal training was a big jump and an investment for me. I appreciated transparency around the process and I didn’t feel bamboozled. There’s no pushiness or upselling once you start either.

Before him, my trainers tried to fit me into a regimented routine without acknowledging my personality traits and how they sometimes clash with a traditional structure. Marvin understood this immediately, and since we’ve been matched, I’ve improved my strength training, increasing my bench press by 49 percent and surpassing a quarter above my weight. I love Thesis, and especially my trainer Melvin! When I first started at Thesis, they worked hard to match me with the right trainer for my needs, which wasn't easy. I used to be very athletic, but during peak covid, I slid into a lifestyle that was beyond sedentary - perhaps "inert" is the right word. I also developed some medical issues (reflux) that made my first several workouts tortuous. Melvin stuck with me and helped me brainstorm ways to adjust and accommodate the workouts to my current reality.
With Melvin's guidance, I dropped from 18% to 14% bf in the first couple of months. My workouts are fun, challenging, and no longer cause for reflux issues. I love coming to Thesis and seeing what he has in mind for me each time!
The gym space itself is super clean, really well stocked with all the right equipment, and always upbeat. I see people at all stages of their fitness journeys at Thesis, and everybody is met where they're at and guided toward their own goals. The vibe is great, the leadership is great, and Melvin is an incredible trainer that I am so glad I found!

I’ve been training here with Lauren and I truly have nothing but amazing things to say. She has been incredibly responsive to my questions, quickly addressing all concerns with weight not dropping or my quick gains, she offers insightful commentary on my meals, and quite honestly has been awesome to work out with. Each session has been really hard work and I’ve been seeing so much personal growth. I can’t recommend training with her enough.

Arriving for 6am workouts was not what I expected this Fall, but it has been one of the best decisions I made this year. Working with Trevel has been excellent. At our first goals meeting, he helped refine my loose goals into detailed goals and then talked through strategies to achieve them. Since then, we’ve made great progress and I am seeing great results. Trevel brings a quiet intensity to our workouts; knowing just when to keep pushing me and when to step in. As for the gym and other trainers, everyone is at their own stage on their fitness journey, and it is a positive, friendly group and you can tell people are happy to be there. Lauren understood not only a body's challenges coming back from childbirth, but also that grief can also impact the body. She designed an evolving routine that has seen me regain and exceed my pre-pregnancy strength and mobility. The workouts are challenging but achievable, built to help me find and expand the limits of my strength. Lauren has been conscientious, knowledgeable, empathetic, and encouraging; everything you want a coach or trainer to be.

Thesis is a great place for personal training. On your first day, the CEO conduct a free evaluation of your current capabilities, strength, weaknesses, technique and takes time to understand your goals and concerns (either strength improvement, weight loss, muscle gain, agility, specific exercises you want to perfect, any event your training towards, etc). I have a lower back injury and they really took time to explain how we can work around it. You also get a body scan and explanation around body fat percentage, muscle mass and how exercise and diet work together.
My coach, Emily, is amazing! She takes time to explain the technique, is really responsive, encourages to keep pushing and keeps me motivated. The progression is amazing! I could definitely not have improved my technique and increased weights on each exercise as fast by myself (and I have exercised my entire life).
The gym is pretty spacious, very clean with nice locker rooms, showers and even a sauna. I go during off-peak hours (8-10am) and it is not too crowded (granted cannot attest for other times of the day). Everyone is very friendly and encouraging. It is pricy but you get al lot of value and it is on par with personal trainings at other gyms, but you get very personalized approach and no crowds! Definitely recommend!

I was fortunate enough to have Thesis recommended to me by a new colleague. She detailed the rigorous approach her trainer exemplified. That alone was enough to entice me into contacting Ori, the owner.
Ori’s response was almost immediate and our initial conversation was detailed and thorough. He spent equal time asking about my goals and what I was looking for alongside information about the gym and the team’s commitment. The phone conversation was just the first introduction. Ori followed up with a sixty-minute evaluation and baseline. I felt like I was being taken seriously throughout the entire intake.
That comprehensive intake ended with Ori matching me with Evan. I’ve been training with Evan for two weeks. In that time, I’ve lost almost seven pounds and have already improved in my strength training. That, alone, is a testament to Evan’s commitment to my progress, but it also manifests via his consistent check-ins and continued pushes in the gym. I’m new to weight lifting and it shows - Evan has made it approachable and patiently demonstrates each exercise before he corrects my form when I take it on myself.

I've been training at the Tysons location with Justin Bobb and it has completely rejuvenated my approach to fitness and my motivation.
I came to Thesis on 15 years of training myself and a lifetime of playing sports and challenging myself physically. I was skeptical that there was very little more that a personal training program could do for me. I was totally wrong.
The equipment is state of the art, the facility is spotless and the wholistic training and nutrition program has been game-changing. Justin put together a program that was perfectly tailored to my needs and goals. He is scientific about the exercises i am doing, the rep counts and the tempo. It has unlocked a whole new level of growth and performance that i didn't think possible. He's also there to encourage and push me to my limit and never beyond.
In just 6 weeks i am stronger and leaner and am seeing gains that would have taken me months of disciplined training to achieve on my own.
I cannot recommend thesis enough to anyone looking to level up their fitness, whatever their starting point.

I've been working with Marvin for about 6 weeks and have quickly lost 11 pounds and added muscle. I expected the rigorous weight lifting to give me aches and pains at my age, but I've been pleasantly surprised. He monitors my form to ensure that I don't end up with sore joints. Instead I feel stronger with improved mobility. He pushes me beyond what I think I am capable of, but he hasn't been wrong yet. A list of all of my positive thoughts about Thesis Fit:
- Emily W is an absolutely incredible trainer! She listens while I talk through most of the session about random things, while I ask questions about equipment we are not using, and she checks in with how I am doing outside of the training sessions. She is also very attentive during the session making sure my form on every rep is spot on and encourages me to go heavier or do another rep or two. She also created workouts for me to do outside of Thesis in my home gym and tailored the workouts to fit what equipment I had available.
- I started training about a month ago, after delaying for a few weeks due to traveling, and Ori and the team were incredibly understanding and not pushy after my free assessment while I got everything in order before joining.
- The facility is incredibly clean and I have seen the cleaners every time I have been there and I greatly appreciate the effort they put in to keeping the facility clean and tidy. In addition, the training staff is very respectful of the cleaning staff which I greatly appreciate.
- Sean, the manager, is incredible and very friendly and gives me a hug when I arrive which I greatly appreciate and it makes my day. During my training session, every trainer is incredibly friendly and supportive and one trainer even gives me a fist bump and says "Hey Ms. --- [job I am applying for]" which makes me feel very good. Cortez is also incredible, very friendly, and helps create the incredibly positive atmosphere all around.

I started at Thesis about 6 weeks ago, I definitely feel better, stronger, and skinnier than when I started. Haven't done my official measurements over again. Either way, my trainer Marvin has given me detailed diet advice, pushes me hard during my workouts while protecting me from myself, and always paying close attention to my form. The gym itself is really nice, I don't hesitate to shower there. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming for everyone of all fitness levels, its a great community and I am excited to keep going.

Coming back to update this review to add that I've recently been training with Justin, and he is the GOAT. He's a fantastic trainer, and I'm so glad that I recommitted to Thesis.
Thesis is the absolute best fitness center in D.C. I would highly recommend this place to beginners and advanced lifters alike. Personally, I am really early in my fitness journey, and I can already tell that I will be incredibly successful based on the support and accountability from the Thesis folks, especially my trainer Anthony. Before joining Thesis, I lost 24 pounds but started noticing I was slowing down. Since joining Thesis, I have lost another 8 pounds, and I am getting stronger every day.
Unlike traditional gyms, you don't work out by yourself but instead workout with an awesome personal trainer. I know for advanced lifters that is super important. But, I think beginners really benefit from personal training as well. For example, beginners tend to waste a lot of time figuring out equipment or even pushing themselves with progressive overload.
My trainer, Anthony, is incredible. He knows so much about proper form and fun workouts. He knows exactly how to motivate and push me, and I attribute a lot of my success to him.
Anthony also watches my form like a hawk. That is true of other trainers that I have interacted with too (Ori and Tijani). Most gym trainers are "watching you," but they are really just looking at their phones. Thesis trainers will literally get on the floor and make sure your knees are bending at the right angle. They care a lot about your success.
In addition, there is an app that keeps track of all your progress and allows you to frequently communicate with your designated trainer. I find that to be pivotal to keeping me on track.
Definitely reach out to the owner Ori if you are interested in joining. He's great, and he will not try to sell you on something you don't need. They are flexible, and I have never really found that with traditional gyms.

Highly recommended. I started training with Marvin in January 2024. I was looking for a gym that can help with enhancing a specific sports performance. I am glad to have found Thesis and Marvin. I went from zero to 4 pull-ups in under 2 months. With their guidance on nutrition, I am able to lose fat while minimizing muscle loss. So far, I’m very happy with my experience with Thesis. I'm sharing my incredible journey with Thesis, which has truly transformed my life. When I first joined, my motivation was to overcome the challenges of Covid weight gain. Best personal training option in D.C. The gym itself is organized, squeaky clean, and stocked with every amenity that an individual requires. Other experience add-ons include a protein shake bar, coffee on tap, and a phenomenal locker room. All of that being said, the actual standout element of this business model is the people. I am relatively new, but every person that I have trained with and/or interacted with is an educated, motivated, detail oriented individual. And as I am sure many people know, those qualities are not always a guarantee in the gym/personal training space. My main trainer is Lauren, and she is phenomenal (bar none). She walked me through Thesis’ intake process with zero judgement and created an entire regime that took in every single concern I raised (from nutrition to injury list and all the points in between). Workouts have been the perfect mix of intense but obtainable (even if you are not sure you can do it, Lauren is 100% sure you can and gives you every opportunity). Thesis trainers are with you every step of the way, and there is a level of individual concern and care that is unmatched anywhere else.

Delighted to have found this place, Lauren’s an incredible trainer and makes the oft tedious process of fitting sessions into an overloaded schedule well worth it. Beyond just being pleasant to be around, she’s wonderfully knowledgeable in seemingly all things health and fitness and has such a solid read on the mechanics behind your movements. A really well rounded coach. It’s a smaller gym so provides more of an intimate setting which is exactly what I was looking for. All of the other trainers/staff I’ve encountered seem lovely, too. I’ve been training with Lauren at Thesis for over a year now and can’t rave about her enough. She demonstrates her knowledge and experience in our sessions and hands down has the best (and most painful) finishers so you really feel a good burn!
Anyone with low back issues has experienced the slight trepidation about pulling a muscle right before you lift a heavy weight. But I trust Lauren. With her adjustments, close eye and feedback I’ve been able to achieve personal records on a regular basis and continue to lift heavier weights. She takes into consideration my back issues but still pushes me to the max—this is why I enjoy our sessions.
Relatedly, food and nutrition can be touchy subjects and I’ve appreciated her support, candor and compassion. She is straightforward in her suggestions but takes the time to understand where I’m coming from.
Lauren is an excellent trainer and person. She makes late evening workouts a lot of fun and it’s been a pleasure working with her.

She does an expert job at tailoring the program to meet my specific needs, taking into consideration health concerns and ensuring that I am progressing week over week in spite of these challenges. She is great at pushing me with each exercise to meet my potential, while ensuring exercises are done safely--and that I am learning about proper health, nutrition, and exercise techniques to support great habits long-term. Training at Thesis is really good for all the standard "stay or get in shape" reasons. Trainers at Thesis can accomplish more. When I started training with Anthony I was recovering from shoulder replacement surgery. I had a limited range of motion in the affected arm. I also had weak, underused muscles. After 6 months the arm with surgery could move as far as the "normal" arm. I also could do pushups, etc that I wasn't able to do before I started training.

LOVE this gym! I was looking for a personal training experience that helped keep me accountable after developing some bad habits during COVID.
When I first reached out for more information, I connected immediately to Ori’s approach to fitness and personal touch. It really set the stage for a positive experience. Ryan and Britinni have pushed me to lift heavier than ever and I can tell my body is responding to it. I love having someone beside me to help correct my form, push me harder and celebrate the successes in getting stronger and healthier. Britinni texts me to check in, especially when she knows I have a happy hour or something that may get me off track with my meal plan. Also love that you can order a protein shake and grab it on the way out or grab a shot of cold brew if you need an extra boost of caffeine. Oh and the gym is incredibly clean. Anthony from Thesis might have saved my career. Coming in hot with a back injury, and weighing in at an all time high of 192, I needed help. My job depends on my ability to run around a sports field with about 60 pounds on my back. Physical therapy was helping, but I needed to lose weight- and get stronger. Thesis paired me with Anthony. A rock star trainer who has recovered from his own back injury. Before we did any type of working out we talked about my goals- for me, it was to get to 175 (I honestly never thought I would see 185, but hey- it’s good to shoot for the stars) and develop core strength to ease my back pain. Anthony developed a custom nutrition plan for me, as well as a workout routine he affectionately named “Back pain be gone.” We started slow, Anthony always made sure what we were doing was not aggravating my back. We would adjust certain movements to make sure we were working out in a way that was not further injuring myself. Something I would not have been able to do on my own. He also held me accountable on my diet in a way that motivated me to do better, but never shamed or guilted me when I had a weak moment and crushed a cheeseburger. I’m happy to say that in 4 months I am down to 174 pounds. I’ve never been stronger, my back is significantly looser- and I haven’t had this much energy since high school.
Make the investment in yourself. You won’t regret it. Thesis and Anthony helped me achieve the results I needed to not only feel good about myself, but to continue on with my career.

I’ve had other fitness experiences prior to Thesis that were great, but they don’t compare to what I’ve found here. I was honestly skeptical of the nutrition aspect given my dietary restrictions. I haven’t been here long but I can say Marvin has been the best fit for me. He’s the most knowledgeable and encouraging trainer I’ve ever had, and I appreciate him giving me both the technical answer and the regular person answers to my questions. In the beginning I even sent him things that I could eat and he gladly talked through it with me/allowed practical substitutions. The program is really designed to keep you focused on the right things like nutrition and activity levels. The technology and apps they use track body composition and make sure you are headed the right direction.

I’ve been going to Thesis twice a week for almost two months now and can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s exactly the system I have needed to turn around my fitness and nutrition. I’ve already lost about ten pounds and gained quite a bit of strength and flexibility, both of which had been subpar from sitting at a desk all day at my job. Justin has been an excellent trainer, helping to teach solid form with well-designed routines that are specific to my goals and have led to significant strength gains and prevented injury. He’s also been a great accountability partner on the nutrition side via the app. This is the best I’ve felt fitness-wise since I injured myself training five years ago and it’s only been a few months. While the initial goal was a sort of sprint to get in shape for my wedding over a five month period, the routine feels sustainable and now kind of an essential part of my week, so I expect to stick with it for the foreseeable future.

When Thesis opened in my building I was interested in trying it out. More than a year later it has become an incredibly positive part of my weekly routine (3x per week). I'm been going to Thesis for around four months now and absolutely love it. While primarily working with Justin, every trainer takes a truly personal approach to your goals, lifestyle needs, and focusing on the overall picture of health. Working with Justin has helped me work on all of my goals, while managing multiple injuries and factoring in non-gym factors, including meal planning, stress, sleep, and mental health. I came to Thesis with apprehension after quite a negative experience with an injury somewhere else in DC.
From the start I have to acknowledge Ori’s patience on guiding me through their process and methods and waiting for all my recovery to be completed. I never felt pushed to join, I always felt they were ready when I was ready to join.
I joined in September 2023 and I have worked with Quentin Ogren as my trainer since then. I can’t say enough good things about him. He’s knowledgeable, always on time, very responsive, extremely attentive to my feedback and adjusts my movements and program based on that. He always checks on my areas of prior injury before starting any session, and puts exquisite attention to all my movements in the gym. The group of trainers at Thesis is very consistent, no turnover which is exceptional in this industry. Equipment is top notch, facilities are well kept and everyone is very friendly.
One of the biggest reasons for me to be at Thesis, and staying, is the attention the trainers put to the form of every single repetition. The quality of each session is unparalleled and after experiencing other places in DC, this is the best there is in personal training in the city.

I have been working with a personal trainer at Thesis for a year now. My trainer, Quentin, is an amazing coach and motivator. He makes the working out experience fun and enjoyable. Since February of 2023 I have lost 40 lbs and increased my muscle mass. As a man in his 50s, I am fitting into clothes I haven’t fit into since my late 20s! What you need to know about me is that I hate exercising and always have. The folks at Thesis are all great people and I know all the trainers. They all encourage you while you’re working out and I feel like I have made real friends along the way. Cortez handles the schedule and is very responsive if I need to alter the schedule for any reason. If you want a fun place to workout and make steady progress in an encouraging and empowering environment, give Thesis a try.

The facilities and people at Thesis are top-notch. Everything from the bathrooms to the workout equipment is clean and well-maintained. The trainers are all friendly and have great attitudes. I've been working with Nate and he's given me definitive and personalized steps to reach my fitness and nutrition goals. I have been going to Thesis for over 3 months and the gym and trainers are absolutely amazing. The equipment is top notch and the facility is always very clean. I look forward to the training sessions every week.
I train with Quentin and I can not ask for anything more from a personal trainer. From Day One, he understood my goals and put me on a training and meal plan that I can consistently keep up with. For the days of the week that I do not go into Thesis, Quentin gave me great at home workouts to do with my own personal equipment. In addition, Quentin adapts the training schedule if I am traveling for work or have an injury/sickness. I have seen tremendous improvements in my strength since training with Quentin and I feel great.
I highly recommend Thesis for anyone looking for a first class experience to achieve their fitness goals!

Joining Thesis Fit has been a transformative experience and I’ve only just begun. In just one month I’ve dropped weight, developed a better relationship with food without cutting out what I love, gained energy, and feel my body getting stronger. My trainer, Nate, is very detail focused making sure my form and technique are always on point. He’s kind and fun to train with but definitely pushes me to the limit and I always leave feeling invigorated and proud of the work accomplished. My biggest struggle has always been keeping myself accountable with my exercise and nutrition and Thesis Fit checks that box with daily support and guidance through their easy-to-use app. It’s a really safe space for those who dread going to gyms - nothing but friendly, encouraging and attentive staff. The gym itself is a very clean environment with high-end equipment, a smoothie bar, and a beautiful locker room with private showers. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my choice in gyms and the progress I’ve made so far. Joining Thesis is one of the best decisions I’ve made to continue my recovery after a car accidenf. I was initially aloof and skeptical of Thesis’ concept; but coming in my first day, folks (shoutout to TJ) made me feel welcome and supported, so it was no brainer that I should sign-up! From their app to the customized meal plans, I have the structure that I’ve been missing to continue being better!
It’s also great that Thesis matches you with a coach; and I couldn’t be more thankful that Nate is the coach for me! He’s the best! He challenges me to push myself while making sure that I’m careful enough to not be injured or get hurt. Workouts with him are 🔥; and it’s great to have a coach like him that looks out for you!

I have been training with Thesis for about a month now and must say that I saw results much faster than expected. All trainers, in particular Nate, are fantastic. They are incredible at tailoring the workouts to everyone's specific needs. In my case, I have a slight disability in my right arm and my trainer adjusted my workouts accordingly. I really feel very well cared for. Apart from that, I really like that Thesis uses an app to keep me on track with my goals and one can reach out to their trainer through the app at any time, e.g., when I have questions about my meal plan, etc. It has been an amazing experience and I can highly recommend Thesis to anyone that is looking to become fitter, healthier, leaner & happier!

I decided to go to personal training class because I gained 20lbs last year from stress at work. I couldn't fit in the jeans anymore and I'm going to travel out of country for vacation in November so I have to be back in shape. The personal training classes are pricy but it's worth it. I already lost 14lbs since April. My coach is Lauren and she always challenge me during workout and encourage me when I thought I couldn't make it at new weight. This journey has been great with her.

I found this gym through Instagram and as the multitude of other 5 star reviews attest, this place is excellent and exactly what you perhaps didn't know you needed. I'd been on a health journey for awhile, trying to move past a few injuries and Thesis has not only tailored my program to strengthen those areas, it's made me much stronger overall. I train with Ben and he's always one step ahead in terms of making adjustments to my program to ensure I continue to make progress. If there's an element I absolutely hate or just can't seem to get right, he'll continue to try a variety of other options until we find one that works. There is certainly value (and undeniable results) from having a program custom tailored to your needs.
In addition, the app makes it really easy to continue with your program when you're not at Thesis - from meal plans to viewing weekly "homework" or just one-off questions for your trainer, it's all right at your fingertips. The facilities are also top notch - clean, fresh, inviting. I train at night and there's always plenty of space so it never feels over crowded.
