I’m so glad this studio opened in Union Market, and right in front of my building! The space is gorgeous, with plenty of natural light and beautiful décor. The reformer beds are brand new, high quality, and all the instructors are great—each with their own style. My only complaint would be the cleaning system; I don’t love that we have to wipe the beds ourselves, as it doesn’t always feel super hygienic (sometimes you can see dust or hair left behind). That said, I truly love everything else about this studio and will definitely keep coming regularly! 💖

Amazing workout and nice small studio but unfortunately the vibes of the instructors are not great or positive. Any time anyone messes up or has improper form it’s like we’re being reprimanded and the instructors have no patience or positivity.

Love this studio. It’s gorgeous and new. I’ve done HIIT, barre, running, and have previously been a member at Corepower, Orange Theory, and F45. I also have over 200 class on ClassPass under my belt. This studio is as good as any, and one of very few reformer Pilates studios in the city. In my opinion, it’s the best one. Everyone’s going to have different preferences in their instructors. I’ve taken about seven classes at this studio and had 5 different instructors.

Zaina - most intense class, you’ll get a good workout if you catch one of her sessions. I also think she tends to incorporate more advanced movements
Annika - I attended her class during a flood warning and thunderstorm and the rain was POURING. This was all on full display in front of the windows too. She did not flinch! I would say she also has pretty advanced movements but wasn’t as intense as Zaina
Iva - my first class at this studio. TBH I don’t remember how intense it was, but it was a solid class
Eric - he has a solid structure to all of his classes. You always start with leg warm up and end with leg circles at the end. I kind of like his classes most because I know what I’m gonna get. And I also think he does a good job at explaining things for the most part.

The other instructor I was not a fan of, so I’ll leave that person out of my review. Over all, love this place!

I have been going to group exercise classes for 10+ years and I have never left a class feeling the way I did when I left a recent class at Toolbox.

For background, I am new to reformer Pilates and have recently started to take classes at Toolbox in NoMa (which I have largely enjoyed, to-date). However, this instructor (whose name I won’t mention), was rude and judgmental in their feedback delivery, and frankly, made me feel embarrassed and belittled.

People go to workout classes to take a break from the daily grind, to get exercise, and hopefully, have some fun. I can’t compute why it would be acceptable for an instructor (who should be a motivator to people of ALL fitness levels) to want to detract from that experience.

I am not someone to leave a Google Review, but I feel compelled to. It’s a shame because Toolbox is otherwise a fantastic facility with (mostly) great instructors. I hope “rudeness” is removed from one of the adjectives I am currently associating this establishment with.

Eric, Gintare, and Kim’s reformer classes have been challenging and engaging. I’ve taken Eric’s classes for years now and appreciate the knowledge and technicality he brings to class. Great playlists, too!

I absolutely love Toolbox NoMa Pilates! The studio is beautiful, welcoming, and insta worthy. The instructors are fantastic - make sure to check out Gintaré & Kim’s class. They are supportive, clear, and really attentive to form. Every class feels challenging yet fun, and I leave feeling stronger every time. Couldn’t recommend it more! So happy to see Toolbox have a second location ♥️

I am only giving one star for the initial vibe of the place, which was quickly ruined by the rude instructor.

This was a Beginner class and at the start he even asked who was new to Pilates. Many of us raised our hands, which should have been his cue to adjust and guide the new ones in the class. The instructor ( Carlos) was impatient, rude, and unclear with instructions. At one point he said “The back row is from a different class” in a way that implied they were very bad at following instructions. It was truly embarrassing for those students and uncomfortable for the rest of us to witness. His presence felt heavy from the start, like he was having a bad day.

After failing to clearly explain the plank position on the machine, he abruptly said in a frustrated tone “We will not do that anymore, we can go straight to cool down.” This was less than halfway through the class. The session ended after only 48 minutes instead of the full hour.

At the end, he told us that instructors have limits and that we have to listen to what they say, then added that he was excited to see some “interesting reviews” after the class. It completely ruined my Sunday morning. I had planned to sign up after this intro class, but after this experience I will not be coming back.

The instructor Eric was very condescending and rude in the beginner class. He seemed to be irritated and lost patience with us. I’ve never experienced something like this before in a class. The studio was beautiful and clean. Kindness goes a long way. ❤️

Had an intermediate session with Eric today. He was unenthusiastic and seemed bored. He was yawning and texting. I would find the moves he taught in a beginner class elsewhere (except standing work). Surprised they didn’t have a water cooler.

I had my first Reformer Pilates class at Toolbox and it was absolutely amazing!
Gintare was an incredible instructor — patient, clear, and very attentive, especially with beginners. She made me feel comfortable and motivated from the very start.
I had my second class with Eric who is an amazing instructor as well and I feel very happy I decided to start my Pilates journey here.

The vibe, the energy, the studio, and the quality of the training exceeded my expectations.
100% recommended for anyone looking to begin Pilates the right way! 🧘🏻‍♀️✨
