I'm so grateful for the Yoga District community! This is a gem of a studio in the Washington D.C. area. Grounding, homey space with wood floors and brick walls. A variety of classes spanning power, hatha, ashtanga and yin flows led by friendly and experienced teachers. Mats are available for rent at an accessible price, especially helpful for someone like me who commutes by foot and doesn’t have a car. Love all around.

Had a great yoga practive with Noah C. The studio is imitate, and it feels like a small community shop instead of a big corporate studio, which is a big win for me! Highly recommend.

This place is truly special. From the first moment I walked into the 14th street studio, I was made to feel welcomed. After two years of practice here, my community at yoga district truly feels like family.

What makes Yoga District so unique to me is not only the welcoming community they have created and sustained but also their efforts to make yoga accessible to the broader DC community. I couldn't think more highly of or recommend more wholeheartedly this studio & its mission.

I have been enjoying taking classes at the 14th street studio. The space is beautiful. And the variety of instructors make every class unique and challenging.

Great relaxing yoga session. Location is a bit small and dated with creaky floors. And price is a bit high for the quality at $14 / session + $2 for a mat. Should include mat in price and lower to $10 max. Other than this, it was great.

I went here for an evening class when I was in DC for a work trip. It was a welcoming environment and they had mat rentals for $2. I would swing by again next time I'm in town.

My Yoga District yogis have transformed my life over the last four years, and continue to do so even though I moved away from DC and now live in the Heartland. As Edgar is always reminding me, β€œthe mind controls the body. My mind is the parent and my body is the child.” That is a powerful concept for me. Maylin is a yin master who helps me reorganize my tissues at the deepest level. Sarah A. is just the best way to start my week on the mat on Monday. Erin H. keeps me poetry-filled and nimble in the hips and shoulders. I am so grateful to all of them.

14th street is my "home" studio. Andrea teaches here frequently and her classes are always a hit. She really understands how the body works and the connections between, breath/movement/mind. I like the smaller morning classes and the bigger classes in the evenings are usually more upbeat. It's a welcoming environment for all. I usually keep a mask on the whole time and have no issues.

Every time I do yoga at the studio, I feel happy. What a wonderful place and community. I have been a member for over five years and I love it.

Yoga District is an awesome studio - it’s not only incredibly inclusive, which I deeply appreciate (being a nonbinary, autistic, multiracial person) but the classes are fun, engaging, and the studio itself is thoughtfully arranged and contributes to the overall relaxing atmosphere.

Friendly, affordable yoga studio with a neighborhood vibe. Lots of movement classes in different styles. The studio is bright and airy, and the teachers are uniformly skilled and unpretentious. I love the free insight meditation class on Sunday nights.

Morgan G., Aabi, Jonathan, and Aaron - all at the H street location - literally saved my mental health during the pandemic and the months after. I love coming to these classes and knowing my mind *has* to be present - it's as much a mental workout as a physical. As a result, I leave class feeling whole and like accomplished. I love this studio.

I have been practicing with yoga district for over 3 years. I used to attend classes in the 14th St. and Petworth studios (sometimes in Dupont) before the pandemic, but have been doing online classes since. I think the online classes were hugely important to me during the lockdown, and helped me navigate that very stressful period. I'm hugely grateful!
I have taken classes from a number of teachers, and they have all been great - even though they offer different styles, they all share a commitment to wellness and are very respectful and warm. I do especially love Edgar's classes - I like his style, with its blend of ashtanga and flow, and a strong emphasis on core strength and balance. He has a very spiritual and passionate approach to yoga practice, is always positive and encouraging. I'm extremely grateful to him for his teaching and guidance. Thanks to everyone at yoga district!
Kind regards,
Malathi

Reasonable prices and lots of different class offerings. The class was accessible and the instructor had great cues and a flow that was a good balance of effort and ease. But overall, I didn't feel very welcome for never having visited the studio before. It was unclear where the class was being held (the building has several floors with several studio rooms) and when I checked in, there was no guidance as to where to fill up water / grab props / use the restroom / place my mat. The teacher did not introduce herself and instead chatted with students it seemed she was already quite close with.

Yoga District is the perfect yoga studio. They have a wide variety of classes, and there is always something available that you would like. The instructors are incredibly clear, and sufficiently demanding. I have been taking classes from Fran at 14th St. for about 10 years, and she never fails to simulate. Her explanations are easy to follow, and she provides many options. And she’s just a great person.

WARNING - DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS
If you are signing up for their one month trial - PAY CASH.
If you have already paid for a *one off* using credit card - check your statement immediately.

They have been taking $97 each month from my credit card since June (from a card I hardly use except for parking) and therefore hardly check up on. I was only in Washington for one week... over $300 for 3 classes is essentially what I have payed for.

I was utterly shocked to see how much had been taken without any contract, permission or authorization. And after looking at Yelp - it looks like this has happened to others.

I was even more shocked that my emails have been viewed a number of times with NO apology, no response, no attempt to communicate whatsoever.

Fraud committed by a company who, in theory, should be running in line with Yoga values. (Like not stealing and doing no harm) feels worse than fraud committed by some big corporate.

As a complete beginner this place has been super welcoming. Not absurdly expensive, chill, and a good guided class that understands that bodies have limits. Every teacher has a different vibe but they all have good skills!

I took an Alignment Flow class (Beginner/Intermediate) on 6/21/2016 at the 14th street location. The regular instructor was out, but our substitute Andrew was absolutely wonderful. I'm not in great shape, so the class was perhaps more strenuous than I was anticipating, but throughout the 75 minutes Andrew was helpful and supportive while leading us through a challenging (for me) routine. Andrew created a safe and positive space, and I thoroughly enjoyed my class -- it left me feeling strong, grounded, and relaxed. I'm not a DC resident, but I would love to take more classes with Andrew, I won't hesitate to return to Yoga District when I visit the city in the future. Also, classes are reasonably priced, and booking/payment was a simple process.

Love yoga district - very affordable compared to other studios in DC. In addition, they truly live the practice of yoga - practicing ahimsa, being kind to others, and building community. I took yoga teacher training here, and I am so happy I did. I have learned so much and have met so many wonderful people because of that experience. looking forward to spending more time with the yoga district family.
