5th St. Gym was opened in 1950 by Chris Dundee and his brother Angelo (Muhammad Ali's Coach) became the head coach and trainer a bit later. It was relocated in 2010 with Angelo returning part-time until his passing in 2012. The gym is still located on 5th Street and trains professionals, amateurs and mostly locals who want to learn to box for fun, exercise, get in shape, lose weight, gain some confidence and learn to protect themselves in today’s environment. The gym currently houses several champions and has had over 20 world champions since its opening.

Incredible boxing gym—truly one of a kind. I’ve trained at gyms all over the world, and this one stands out. I highly, highly recommend it. The Miami vibes are strong in the best way possible, and it’s world-famous for a reason. Dino, the owner, along with his team, are amazing people who genuinely love the sport and the art of boxing. I’ve been training at 5th St Gym for about a year now, and from day one, my experience has been amazing. I was welcomed warmly, and the workouts have always been top-notch. I started doing private boxing training with Dino early in my second pregnancy and am beyond happy with the results. Every session is fun & challenging and the gym feels like a family. I’ve continued training with him postpartum & have had such a positive experience & lost the baby weight. I couldn’t recommend the gym enough - all of the trainers are fantastic and very knowledgeable.

Started coming here with my dad as a kid and have started coming consistently now for muay thai with kru jorge. I love this place, keeps me healthy and sane to going here. Whether its a boxing class with Fernando or a one on one with dino or any of the other coaches i highly recommend our gym.

5th St. Boxing Gym is an awesome place! I had my family visited from Europe and Dino, the owner of the gym invited my niece to try out his boxing gym. My niece had an amazing experience and she was begging me to go back. In the meantime I saw that these guys know what they do! They are like a big family and they have special attention to new people!
If you are looking for great workout in a place where they treat you like a family, 5th St. Boxing Gym is your place! Ask Dino, he is an awesome owner and an amazing trainer!

They apparently have an online store associated with the gym called fight shop Miami. They sell some gloves but mostly shirts. I bought some everlast gloves from them almost a month ago and stilled haven’t received them. Both the store and gym are impossible to get a hold of especially if you’re from out of town. I did get a hold of someone through the gym’s IG but have left me hanging since. No disrespect to the legacy of the gym but as far as I can tell, worst costumer service.
Update as of Dec 7 2023.
Someone from the store finally contacted me. Said they would have the package by this week. Guess what? Still hasn’t arrived. No carrier update or label created, tracking number, nothing.

If you like to get in shape fast mentally and physically there is not a better place for you in Miami.
I have been in Boxing for over 34 years.

Great place to train. I haven’t been training for long at all and was looking for a place to go while on visiting my wife so I could keep improving. I walked in and it was amazing experience. All of the members were very welcoming and the trainer was flat out awesome. I learned a ton and he was very attentive to my skill level and physical abilities. I walked out of that class drenched in sweat and with a lot of great knowledge to bring home. Drop in fees are very reasonable and this will definitely be where I come when I’m down in South Beach from now on. I could not have asked for a better experience.
