Wasn't sure at what point I would post a review however it seems about right , my daughter danced here for a few years on team and recreational. Once we joined the team things just went down hill. They made my daughter feel worthless , constantly compared one kid to another bluntly saying your not as good as another child you won't place in competitions. They made comments about the kids and parents behind there backs even in conversation would bad mouth other people. Over all it was not the best experience glad we left when we did.

Almost extraordinary like .I just remember that every Dance & school is mostly practice all over the world. But A k Dancer is a different kind of platform for kids and kindergarten type . school life .or After school day are over .The summer can get you into your feet how school kids could make up their minds is fullfill the promise of ther mother what dream they would like to find a journey of dancing as we'll as school life study. I have seen the world and almost beautiful to be adorable to find new children finding their hobbies for learning dancing.Its nicely to say A k Dancer have many stories to teach dancing in positive energy of Obedience new time of journey teaches.

My older daughter danced here before covid. She didn't continue after covid; however, our younger daughter did. The prices are great for kiddos wanting to start dance.
In three years, our daughter did learn quite a bit, considering she hadn't danced anywhere else. The first two years seemed alright. Unfortunately, year three was a struggle. Communication became limited, and invoices had errors, overcharging us. The dance schedule was changed mid year for one class, and their practices and/or rehearsals are not set until the last minute. If you want organization, this is not the place. There isn't a schedule or set of dates for anything, nor is the studio on top of their in-house organization. We were told to keep all weekends open for practices, only to be told last minute which days we needed to be there. It was very hard to have any family time or plan any events. The last year with them was also very stressful. Some days, we would walk into smiles, but most days, it seemed very unwelcoming. Our daughter cried many times about how she was talked to or treated during practice. There were several instances where the owners' children would push her around. Just wasn't a happy place. She has decided not to dance there anymore and wants something she enjoys with people who enjoy her.
In the end, I do think the owners love dance, and I believe they love kids. I think it's a good place for beginners but not for students who are trying to grow. If you join their studio, always track and/or document your payments. I do hope that one day they can return to the way they used to be several years ago. It's just not a happy environment anymore.

I’m a parent and grandparent now, and have spent many years around kids in various sports, dance, gymnastics, and other programs. I can’t say that I’ve seen one worse than this. The woman that is part of the couple that runs it is extremely unprofessional and can be downright nasty. Try being a little kinder to people. You wouldn’t speak to me as I’ve seen you speak to other adults that attend recitals as I saw last night in downtown New Port Richey. And what was the theme last night? Dead music artists? Great to do tributes, but that was a bit much. With the exception of a few older kids, it doesn’t appear that any of the others have learned much. When they remind people of rules such as no filming, or sending one adult back to pick up the kids, maybe try not to sound so confrontational and condescending. I honestly can’t believe they have even averaged 4 stars.

We just completed a season with AK Dance. My daughter loved Mr AJ and Ms Kylee. They have a warm welcoming and friendly studio environment. My princess gain more dancing experience and had fun doing it. Definitely recommend this dance family 🥰

AKDance Away is a little gem of a school located right off 19 run by a husband and wife team who have been in the business for over 15 years.

Not only has my 3.5yr old become more confident in her movements and dance abilities (in just 5months) but she has cultivated relationships with her fellow classmates that have made AKDance Away feel more like a family than just a school.

I highly recommend AKDance away to anyone looking to enroll their child in a dance school where they will be treated like family, develop strong friendships and where your child will get the smaller class one on one attention that most large dance schools are unable to offer. It is the love for what they do that makes AKDance stand apart from the crowd. You will not be disappointed.

Words can not describe just how great this dance Studio is! We have been going to AKDA for a while now after Switching from another dance studio. ( We're not fans of dance studio jumpers) But we took our time when looking. All Signs pointed to AKDA! The Director is a great woman with lots of love ! ❤️ The teachers are incredible! Miss kylee is very kind and sweet. She treats these children like her very own! She puts countless hours into costumes so every child is at thire best! While keeping cost at bay. Everyone gets time on the stage, In everyone of her routines she Choreographs. Mr AJ is very patient and works well with any child. He has a great Talent for that! Both teachers have many years of experience themselves as dancers! Which is a great benefit in helping teach the children learn new and difficult techniques/ Skills. They Don't just teach you how to dance they teach you how to be a team and be able to advocate for yourself and when they bring that all together on stage it's Magnificent.

My granddaughter started at this dance studio at 5 and she had such low self esteem, until mrs, Kylee and mr Aj, spent so much time with her. She was doing solos in the first 3 months being there. This place is family orientated, they show true compassion and care in what they do to help the children.

I have seen so many competitions and recitals and compared to other studios, AK is different and the routines is always a headliner.

My granddaughter now is the most positive pre-teen with so much self confidence! 5 years in dance with this studio helped form that courage and strength she has.

I would highly recommend this studio to anyone as the best dance studio in Springhill!!

We found our forever dance family over 6 years ago when we came to AK Dance Away. In addition to the studio offering recreational classes in a multitude of dance styles, the studio also has an award winning competition team, earning special judges choice awards year over year for choreography, concepts, costuming and stage presence. Not only does my daughter receive great quality instruction, but mentoring and guidance in life as well. They provide such a cultivating environment to boost creativity and passion for dance. They are engaging kiddos to support each other and spreading kindness every step of the way. They continue to showcase all of the students to the best of their abilities and encourage everyone to rise to their fullest potential. It has been such a positive experience throughout the years. My daughter has had anxiety from a young age and dance is so therapeutic for her, the world pauses when she steps out on stage and that is only possible because of the experience, guidance, support, and encouragement of Miss Kylee and Mr AJ and I will always be eternally grateful for them both.

They don't charge you an arm and a leg and that's nice concerning everything costs so much today.
It's nice to Be bale to let my kids enjoy something they both love and not have to break the bank .

Im a dad and My two Boys go here and both Mr Aj and Miss kylee are amazing with both of the boys.

One of my boys has a disability and they are amazing with him and that's so nice to have them be so understanding

They don't force them to do anything they can't they just ask that they try to if they Absolutely can't they will change it up for them so that they aren't left out.

My son started dance when he was young. After preschool, he took dance at his preschool, and then at Chocachatti Elementary both during school and after with Ms. Bowers. When he moved on to middle school we needed to find another dance studio. We were hoping to find one with a male dance teacher. We found a great team in Kylee and AJ at AK Dance Away. Cody stayed through part of high school when his life got more hectic with advanced course work, a job, and school Drama. Cody danced for 12 years and we are so happy with our choice to have him learn at AK Dance Away. The kids always seemed so excited to be there and he made very good friendships with other dancers. It always felt like a big family. Whenever Cody had a concern about any dance move, AJ and Kylee helped him improve. When he had a part in a musical that required a dance piece, AJ worked with him to help him work out the dance moves. We’ve never had any issue of concern during the years he danced there. If life settles down for him prior to college, he’d go back to AK Dance Away as his future degree and career will combine dance and drama. AJ and Kylee helped Cody maintain his love for dance and provided him with skills he will use throughout his career. They are much appreciated.

This is the first year my daughter has danced here and I can tell you there will be many more years. AJ and Kylee have a true heart for all the children they teach, no matter their level of skill. My daughter has done competitive cheer for (2) years but really loves her dance classes the most. She has taken (6) different classes and has been taught the different styles of each dance, and I witnessed this during the recital. I am in the studio many nights of the week and have never seen either teacher treat anyone with disrespect. Actually I feel they go above and beyond to help all the dancers and their parents. You can message them night or day and they are quick with a response. We are excited to start our second season with this great dance studio. Go AK DANCE AWAY 👋👋👋

The whole studio is so unprofessional and after being there for years I wish I left eariler. They know how to make a student feel so bad about themselves, leaving dance crying weekly due to being compared and put against friends. They are unprofessional as many reviews stated, screaming at paying clients (never being acceptable to scream at students parents when they don’t get their way), not ever communicating properly (missing many private lessons or being late) and then punish the students for being late or not arriving how kylee wants it. They even will walk past you acting like you aren’t there ignoring people who pay them for years on years. She is not someone you want to learn from as they are uneducated themselves in dance and how to run a business. She hides and let her husband deals with things while the whole studio is freud and lies constantly to make it seem like it’s something good when it’s not. Seriously think again about where you put ur student in because now that I’m grown I will never be able to have the passion I once did as they ripped it apart.
Also leaving reviews from family members of grandparents to raise the stars is so funny as once again it’s lies and biases.

I have sat on this review for about a week now. If you look at the other 1 star reviews, there is one by a Lilly. Two L's. My daughter Lily, one L, danced here briefly. She's 10. The studio decided to text me and tell me I needed to take the review down. Now, if they actually paid attention, they'd notice the incorrect spelling of her name. Not to mention the fact that a 10 year old wouldn't come up with such an adult sounding review. Even after I pointed this out, no apology. It's so very unprofessional to message someone to remove a negative review, and even WORSE to not apologize for the accusation.

We left another studio to go to AK. Big mistake. We were blinded by all of the false promises of something better. Even after the switch, those same people telling me they wouldn't be returning next season, along with others who have been there for years. The studio lies. Every price I was quoted before switching was a lie. When I would reach out to get any sort of dates, specifically stating I didn't want to get behind, I was told it's fine, not due yet. Then bam, literally 5 things are now late. Communication is a joke. The play favorites to the extreme. They talk to your child like they are garbage.
Had a private they didn't even show up for, or answer messages/calls. Had another that they "double booked" so even though I paid for it, my daughter just sat there and did nothing , because again, favorites.

Don't be fooled by the fake, bubbly personality. Once they get you in, it's gone. They will be surprised when a nice chunk of their competition team doesn't return next season. Like I said, I'm not the only one who has a sour taste in my mouth with the studio. They will see.

I LOVE that I chose AK Dance Away dance studio for my grandchildren, the dance teachers are knowledgeable and are wonderful with children. In a great location with easy access right off US 19, where I can shop for a couple hours while their in class, My mind feels so at ease leaving my youngest grandchild to my oldest grandchild there. I find it so comforting that the staff is able to work with all ages of children. The skills my grandchildren have obtained is immeasurable. Their professional training has established growth in my grandchild’s ability now having a back handspring to winning several dance awards and titles at dance competitions. Being on the competitive dance team has boosted my grandchild’s self confidence and we love being part of such a wonderful team. They have so many different styles of dance to offer my grandchildren all at one location. I recommend AK Dance Away to someone from a beginner level looking just to have fun and make friends or someone looking to enhance their dance career. I’ve not only witnessed it myself but I have seen first hand the dance teachers welcome other children with open arms and go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels special.

AK Dance Away Studio advertised a public Trunk or Treat event for Sunday, 10/25, from 3pm to 6pm. When we arrived at 5:35pm, most of the cars were gone and the 3 or 4 cars still there were packing up. My daughter was in her costume and makeup and we drove 35 minutes to get there. Needless to say, it was very disappointing! A few other kids in costume arrive about the same time we did and there were definitely some sad faces. For those that are considering sending their kids to this studio, please use this as an example of their lack of commitment to their word, the kids, and the community.

AJ and Wyatt helped me out so much with my Disney Cruise Line audition in NYC! I had to quickly learn a dance combination and they helped me polish and figure out what to do. Even on a tight schedule, they were able to accommodate me at a very short notice. I would definitely recommend this studio to everyone.
