Hands down the best program I've experience. They teach more than Karate. Family atmosphere. If you are looking for someone to baby your child this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a place that create leaders, teaches discipline and touches on life lessons this is the place for your kids.

Honestly I can’t say enough about this amazing school, we started here last year and our son has loved every single moment. He’s made friends, he’s learned so much he’s so disciplined in learning he practices every day just to get better so he can keep going… this school truly feels like one big family but one with great standards which is exactly what we wanted for our little dude! He’s excited to come back day after day week after week! Mr and Mrs king, Mr Jeremy ms evie, we love you guys so much you do such a wonderful job with all these kids!

My kids have been going here for several years now. The school is awesome. They hire kids that have gone through the program and are mature, it’s not kids watching kids like some other camps we’ve tried! We’ve done evening classes and camp and couldn’t be more happy. My girls love it there and it’s clear that they love my kids. Not sure what more you could ask for. The staff feel like family!

I highly recommend American Karate! Just an overall awesome environment and the staff makes you feel like family. My kids have been attending the academy for 3-4 years. Alongside martial arts, they teach their students the value of hard work and instill discipline. It’s refreshing and nice to see that belts have to be earned and are not just given. We were tired of the afterschool programs that didn’t have enough supervision. We saw the signs posted outside of the school for this karate place. We called and set up an appointment got him enrolled at AAKA and almost immediately saw a change in his behavior for the better. He has been going for there for 5 years and has made many new friends. While attending he has learned not only how to do karate but self respect, discipline and responsibility. He enjoys going to learn his katas, sparring and seeing his friends. My daughter has been going to AAKA since she was 5 years old. Mr. & Mrs. King have made us feel like family since day 1. They have taught her respect and discipline, and she has gained confidence through learning karate and promoting to a yellow belt. She has made friends with the students and the staff, and they gave her extra help and attention early on because she was much younger and smaller than the other kids in her class. She went here every day after school and is also here for summer camp and sometimes ninja night (they have some nights for the kids to come play and have pizza while parents get a night out!). My daughter is always excited to go to karate and will choose karate camp over staying at home when given the option. This place is amazing and I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my kids.

Alejandro loves it here, we have had such a great experience with this afterschool program. Everyone is extremely sweet and involved on the kids development. Mrs. King is just full of love and she just a positive role model and teacher. He will be attending for years to come.

And here we are, years later!!! I’m even happier with this great program than when I wrote the initial review. This team has helped me raise my child, the level of care and professionalism they have is overwhelming. From Mr and Mrs King, Mr. Jeramy, our beloved Chris, Evie, all of them have been a blessing and instrumental in shaping Alejandro. We love you guys, we really do.

Our daughter spent a wonderful 4+ years here. EVERYONE was so wonderful and they were like family. She only left because we had to move, and we all cried saying goodbye. She learned so much there, I don’t know that any other school will ever come close to this one. Don’t hesitate to enroll your child here! My kid it’s been in this academy going to 3 years, Mr. Chris and Mr. Jeremy have been nothing but role models to him. Mr. Chris is not only the person-to-go-to but one of the nicest, honest and truly caring trainer in this place.
They teach respect, control, responsibility and he is the parent’s support in every way. 👍
They have safe drivers, an awesome summer program and cover the out-of-school holidays including supervised fun sleep over “ninja night” for the kids. Every dollar is worthy.
I recommend this academy 100%. The program itself it’s really not for kids competitions or Olympics material but give kids the basic knowledge of the art. Mr.&Mrs King are our community Pilar’s and very respected leaders 💗

My daughter has been going to AAKA for 2 years now. She gets to learn discipline, respect, and independence through karate. Kids have fun but are also held accountable and taught responsibility. I never leave reviews so this upset me enough to leave one. I never attended it was a simple call that changed everything these reviews were saying. The teacher got into a whole debate about kids with ADHD and medications and made the grave mistake of assuming my son is homeschooled due to probably having ADHD and not being able to stay still. He also, tried educating me on my own profession which is wildly bizarre given he understood nothing about my profession in medicine. I would never send my son here after this conversation it left such an ugly taste in my mouth and the way he spoke to me was an immediate no. I am baffled to see the amount of good rating this school has with someone who speaks to people as if they were idiots and with no respect for others level of intelligence.

My kids have done 2 summers here and this is the second school year, consecutively. I can’t say enough great things about them! To find a program that actually teaches your children is hard to find! They are patient and caring and truly love kids, you can tell! The summer program is awesome!! They have classes, outside time and field trips. Not to mention they are actually affordable especially for the time frame they are with them. One thing I noticed is staff is not changing every week or even every month. Same staff/people, so kids and keep and build relationships. they teach them discipline and respect and actually test for their belts it’s sooooo cute! I’m always recommending them! My kids love it here!

My son has been going to Altamonte karate academy for five years, both after school and over the summer. I love it and he’s loves it. I used to come every weekday after school but there are many great things to do there so I give this place more stars than I can in my head it takes a while at first to get used to the blocks, kicks, punches, and sparring at first but you eventually get used to it.

Owner Chris and his crew are Great! Our son has been training with them for almost 4 years in their afterschool program and they have done an amazing job. Their Covid protocol is strong and has been implemented perfectly. Their cost is comparable with other local outfits, but gets you much better training in a small family environment.

My son went this summer for camp and was bullied. I spoke to an instructor and he basically ignore my concern. He then told me I would get a call from the manager never did. My friend that I referred also called about her son and same situation. Since then I’ve heard more negative feedback not a positive environment for kids!

Great prices and policies -- if your child is sick and misses a couple days you don't pay for the time they aren't there. Instructors are great and the owners are fantastic. They genuinely care about the kids and make them actually earn their promotions to the next belt, they aren't just handed to them because they've been there x amount of time or attended so many classes. My children and I love Altamonte Karate Academy. All they had known prior to this was daycare life where they ran around like wild animals. Once my children started attending Karate School (and, it is a school) they are learning self discipline, responsibility, respect and are gaining a higher sense of self worth. If you are looking for a place that will help grow and develop your child into being the best they can be then this is your place. I could not be more pleased. My Granddaughter joined AKA about a year ago and I couldn't be more satisfied with them, previously she was going to brown's gymnastics and the difference is night and day, first your kid will be learning not only Karate but family values and manners which will help them for life. The owners( Mr and Mrs King) are amazing people so are the instructors, well not much to ad the place is just perfect, again, your kid will get the best you can hope for.

My kids joined AKA over 2 years ago, after we got tired of the crappy after school program they had in their school.
Kids not only learn karate and self-defense, they also learn discipline, good manners, and self-confidence. Also they are rewarded for good grades in school and for completing chores at home.
The senseis are great, even though they have a lot of children, they all know them by name, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and work with them to help them do and be their best. I also love that they allow advanced children to help teach the beginners; this provides them a good sense of pride and helps them strive to be better.
The owners Mr. and Mrs. King are wonderful people, they know the kids by name and they always have a smile for the parents; yes they are tough and disciplinarian, but that helps raising our children to be better people and better members of society.
As a working parent, I worry about what my children are doing after school. I wanted a place where they will be safe, where they would learn, exercise and learn to be better people. American Karate Academy has provided that for us.
Last wonderful thing, they are open those “student holiday” days that school has, I don’t have to worry about taking the day off, because my children have a place to go.
I cannot recommend this place enough!

American Karate is an amazing school that is ALL about teaching their students hard work, structure, and motivating them to focus. They allow the children to "earn" what levels they feel confident enough to test for without pressure. The owners and staff are absolutely remarkable, they have literally made my son feel so welcomed, cared for, and cared about. Hands down the best structured summer program. Skating rink, pool, arcades, movies. My son is learning discipline and respect along with self confidence. In the old day care he was in every day I had to sign an incident report. The first two days I picked him up from here he kept asking if he was in trouble because he was traumatized from the day care. It's such a relief to pick him up and to know that he had a great day. I would recommend this karate school to everyone.
