Great gym and great equipment. While the price is higher than normal, the offset of this is that it's always super easy to get on a machine, I love it!!! I moved so I had to cancel and cancelling was as simple as a phone call. Great staff, great people, amazing gym!

Relative to the high price of the membership, the amount of equipment and size of the facility is small and can feel cramped. They also have a couple unnecessary fees which should already be covered by the membership price. The staff is nice, though.

If you can afford it they’ve got everything you need! Jaye, Blaise, Stephanie are all an amazing, professional group that know their stuff and love what they do. It’s conveniently located for a lotta` folks, especially now that the closest gym is gone. Lovely place run by a phenomenal group.

I have been a member of numerous Gym’s over many years. I joined this gym because it was the closest to the home I rented for a period of time. Unfortunately you have to sign a one year contract to be a member of this Gym. I do not know of any Gym these days that do this. Most are month to month. I bought a home over an hour away and moved. I contacted the Gym numerous times to try to have them work with me on this contract. They would not. Sorry you signed the contract and you have to pay. I have asked for the owner to contact me and that never happened either. I would not recommend this Gym to anyone.

I've been a member from day 1 (over 7 years). I have also been to many gyms in my lifetime, from the hole in the wall sweat shops to the elaborate fitness chains. I have to say, this is the best fitness center I have ever been a member of. The place is extremely clean and the equipment is well kept. The staff is very experienced and overly helpful. There's no high pressure sales staff and the atmosphere is extremely friendly, courteous and unpretentious. The gym has all your needs, whether your trying to lose a couple of pounds or your into heavy lifting. From group training to one on one, they can provide a program to suit your personal needs or you can just do your thing. With a family atmosphere and the great personalities of the staff, its hard to find a better place to workout. With 24/7 access, I'm not restricted to any schedule, I can workout whenever I choose to. I wouldn't go anywhere else in town.......

Been coming here since January 2017 and I have lost 21 pounds and tons of muscle!! Best class I have ever taken! Been in the fitness industry for a long time and stopped. Gained a lot of weight and need to get back into shape. The energy and friendship in this place is awesome!! So glad there is a place here in Tallahassee that I can go to and actually enjoy it and see results! This place rocks!

Around Oct 2012, the gym closed for a day and reopened with great fanfare from the owners.. After entering the gym the next day the place looked bare with missing equipment. At least 8 exercise machines were removed and there were not that many to begin with.. Non of the members were consulted or asked any advance opinions of a change in marketing. I say change because the gym is now focusing on personal higher cost personal training. This is not a way to treat customers.

This is one of the cleanest gyms I have ever been in. The staff is very friendly and always has a smile. They rember me by my name which is very nice. The guest relations manager didnt hound me to buy a membership, they are very laid back and are not pushy at all means. It is hard to find a good gym that really cares about the members but I can say that I have found one. American Fitness is great, they have helped me change my life around and get me in a healther lifestyle. They best part besides that they are open 24 hours is that I never have to wait on equipment.
