24/7 access and $50 fee for not racking your weight is the reason I signed up. I'm not sure if that fee is enforced but some days it definitely doesn't. The equipment itself is varied enough to get the job done. There might be some preference issues but that's about it. A machine will break but you can usually expect a fix within 1 month or less.

Staff is friendly and other members as well, although plenty dont rack their weights it seems.

My wife and I rejoined this gym on November 2nd because we used to love how clean, organized, and disciplined it was. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. In just three visits, we’ve had to re-rack other people’s weights multiple times — including putting away a bar loaded with over 200 lbs — and we’ve seen empty bottles and energy drinks thrown on the floor.

The bathrooms were also not well maintained, with toilet paper scattered across the floor. It’s really disappointing because this gym used to take pride in keeping things tidy and enforcing accountability (like the old $50 re-rack fee).

We decided to cancel our memberships immediately. We truly hope management brings back the standards that once made this place great.

This gym has potential but its own members leave the place looking like trash! Let’s start by there! 1% return weights and accessories to its designated places! Empty cans and thrown wipes everywhere, floors, top of machines…Toilets clogged and used toilet paper on the floor all the time!

If your time is short and you need to shower before leaving, just know that if no one used the showers before you, you’ll be waiting at least 15 min for the water to start warming up! Thats a lot of water going down the drain by the way.. the wait is longer than the shower itself!

There is a room with some bikes that I personally have never seen anything going on and think that space should be turned into the female only room (empower room) as the gym is packed most of the time!

BEWARE -
While the equipment is decent and staff is generally friendly, the gym is consistently packed and the bathrooms/ locker areas were consistently filthy - for the gym alone I'd give it a 3/5 HOWEVER, BEWARE of signing up for a membership.

I cancelled my personal training membership over 1 year ago (in person AND in writing) and have been billed $220/month since - Upon finding out that I was still being charged I've received NO help at all - i've spent the last 2 months trying to contact them and, despite providing proof I cancelled, they continue to try to bill me to this day.

They are completely unreachable by phone, and whoever answers their emails takes days to respond and only provides canned answers, proving they don't read. There are too many good gyms in the area to risk it, if I could do it over again I'd avoid amped at all costs.

Literally! you don’t even have to have a membership to get in it’s FREE!! after 9pm just roam outside like many people waiting to go in after someone or waiting for someone to come out so they can sneak in, I literally saw someone tonight use the exit door behind the stair masters to go in LMAO, crazy thing is that nothing happens. I’ve been a member of this gym for over two years — almost three now — and I am absolutely done. This past month has been nothing but a headache. I’ve now been charged four separate times for my annual fee within a single year.

I’ve left multiple messages for the manager, and every time I go in person, the front desk promises someone will call me back. No one ever does. Even when I finally caught the manager in person, he told me he reversed the extra charges — but he didn’t. It’s now been three weeks, and not only have I not received a refund, but I’ve actually gotten two more charges since then.

Their phone systems don’t even work half the time, and there’s no way to contact the district manager or anyone at corporate. It’s like they don’t exist. The complete lack of communication and accountability is beyond frustrating.

To make matters worse, the gym itself is always dirty and disorganized. But at this point, the real issue is their utter incompetence and lack of customer service.

I’ve been loyal to this gym for nearly three years, but I’m done. I’m switching to a new gym that actually values its members and knows how to handle simple billing and communication.

I ’ve been going to this gym for a while and have held off on writing a review, but unfortunately, the negatives have piled up.

First, I want to say that the front desk staff (especially the girls at the counter) are always friendly and welcoming—no complaints there at all. I also appreciate that the vibe at the gym is usually positive, and I was glad when the broken machines were finally fixed (though it took almost two months).

That said, some issues can’t be ignored anymore. Today I had to leave early because a staff member walked in smelling very strongly of weed, and the smell spread throughout the gym. I understand everyone has personal preferences, but when I come to the gym, I expect a clean environment—not to be surrounded by weed odor. On top of that, I often see people smoking (vaping) inside the gym, which I think is completely inappropriate and unprofessional for a fitness facility.

The men’s bathroom is “okay” at best—kept somewhat, but not great. Rules don’t seem to be enforced, which makes the gym feel a bit careless in its management.

Overall, I do like the gym’s atmosphere and the friendliness of the front desk, but the lack of enforcement of basic rules, long waits for repairs, and especially the weed incident today have really soured my experience.

I can honestly say this is the most disappointing gym I’ve ever been to. The place is not clean, and it makes you think twice before even working out. The machines are constantly broken—at one point, my treadmill shut off mid-workout along with the three next to me. There are never enough working machines, which makes getting a proper workout frustrating (pins for machines)

I tried calling the gym more than ten times, but no one ever answered. The phone doesn’t even ring. The general manager, Troy, is never around to talk to, especially when it comes to issues like refunds.

Overall, this gym is poorly run, the equipment is unreliable, and the staff is unhelpful. Honestly, you’d get the same quality at a cheaper gym like Planet Fitness and save yourself the money.

Many machines are broken and remain broken after weeks or even months.

Hygiene specially in the bathrooms is very bad, no soap, wet floors, disgusting stalls and many more unpleasant sights.

Got a day pass here and was excited to go after looking at the pictures. Turns out the actual gym is nothing like the pictures. The pics make it seem really nice. There were dumbbells scattered everywhere across the gym and mismatched together in the wrong wracks. Nearly almost tripped on the dumbbells. I don’t recommend going to Amped and especially if you’re going to sign a contract with them for personal training.

I’ve cancelled my personal training in April but whoever was front desk either 1. Scammed me and made it seem like as if the cancellation went through or 2. Wasn’t properly trained.

I realize then that I was being charged $220 after signing a cancellation contract for personal training, so I called in March and spoke to front desk about it and they stated that the person who took care of me before to cancel the contract didn’t do it correctly. So they refunded me with no issue which took 3-5 business days. I then asked them if I could be sent through email the documents I signed in person when I canceled the personal training and they claimed that there was “no document” and that they couldn’t find it in the system which I found interesting.

Later again, I was charged AGAIN the $220, I called back again and now I’m upset because 1. I’m being charged for a service that was signed and cancelled 2. Once I called them the 2nd time about the $220 they would ignore my calls and hang up.

Their manager is either always in meetings or he’s not there at all. Which is frustrating because who am I able to talk to if their front desk isn’t even properly trained for payment issues involving a cancellation contract.

I had to reach out to my bank after countless of days of trying to reach out to then about this issue and cancel the $220. I had to involve another amped fitness (the one in St Pete) to see if through their system they could send me the contracts I signed because I legally have the right to have them. The manager in St Pete had no issue finding the contacts which once again, I found interesting since the Amped I attended here “couldn’t”. Thankfully I have now the personal training cancellation document and the membership cancellation document as well.

Months later, this week I’m being charged for the THIRD time the $220. This has been the biggest scam I’ve ever heard of because how come after cancelling months before, I’m still being charged for a service that’s not being used. Not once, not twice but THREE times. I tried once again calling them but the first few times my call was ignored and the last time I called, front desk picked up and told me the manager is in a meeting.

These are the main key issues in this gym:

1. Front desk isn’t properly trained when it comes to cancellation documents (sending to client or even knowing how to cancel a membership) and answering phones. (their phones also always have issues)

2. Even if you have cancelled a contract with them, you’ll still be charged.

3. Side note: the equipment there is worn out and could use some fixing as well.

Love this gym! The management does what they need to do when machines and equipment need serviced. But be warned..coming here during the week after 5pm is crazy crazy packed. Make ya feel like a tiny sardine in a can.

Pretty nice gym. A few of the equipment choices were unfortunately unavailable and a couple treadmills were powered off, but they have a variety choice of equipment for you to use. As far as I have seen it was clean and well maintained. Staff super friendly as well.

That’s it. I’m done. I’ve FINALLY had it. I’ve moved on to greener pastures and do not feel bad about not looking back.

For context, I’ve been a member of Amped Doral location since it first opened a few years ago. When this place opened up, it was AMAZING. It was full of life, full of trainers that ACTUALLY cared about your health and fitness, and a state of the art gym to accompany all that.

Over the past year, maybe two, amped has drastically declined. Everything you read in the one star reviews is sadly true. The water machine? Broken. And have been for MONTHS. The bathrooms look and smell like they haven’t had a deep clean in MONTHS. You should consider yourself blessed if you can find soap in the dispensers. The sauna? Directly under the power lifters and falling apart from the impacts above. The machines are broken for MONTHS with no repair in sight or mention. Zero….. pins…. I’m not sure who’s the gremlin that’s taking them home, but seriously guys? Toothbrushes and makeshift gadgets to fill in the place of pins. Roaches along the floors and in the bathrooms near the saunas. The toilets…. Don’t get me started on the toilets. There’s been several cases of well documented diseases being contracted from this location, and the above has a large part to do with it.

One would hope that this is a minor setback, as most businesses face challenges, but this just feels like a lack of giving a single crap about your customers health or money spent.

I’ve heard wonders about the other locations from friends, so I gave the more recent issues some time to maybe course-correct. Maybe it’s new management? Maybe it’s new employees?

I don’t know. But what I do know is after many years with amped, this will be my last month with them. I wish there was something they could do to win me back, but I just don’t see that happening or even a fix being worked on.

What a shame, I truly did love this gym, and wanted to give it another chance in my heart. I’m not going to wait until I contract a disease, or see machines fixed next year to find out.

And before the management tries to reply saying they’re “working on it”, sure you are. The mediocre excuse for a regional manager is leaving you dead in the water for no reason. If amped knows what’s good for them, they’ll close this location before the lawsuits come.

I’m already weary about going to cancel my membership as I’ve heard they make it near impossible to do so without some type of harm to your credit or bank account.

Very upkept Gym!!! The place is spotless, the bathroom, showers and sauna are clean and the equipment is top-of-the-line and well-maintained — whether you're lifting heavy, doing cardio, or stretching, they’ve got everything you need. What really sets this location apart is the motivating atmosphere and positive vibe. You can tell people here are serious about their fitness goals, and that energy is contagious.

Wow! I got a membership in the Pompano Beach location and this is my first time coming to this location since I had to be at a job nearby. Looks like a prison gym! Run down garbage. Needs a complete restoration. Shut it down! What a shame for the brand name.

This is my second review of this gym because apparently not all reviews were created equal and management will take your review down if they don’t like it. I had a membership here two years ago for a few days and decided to immediately cancel it. The manager told me based on my physique I “didn’t have what it took” to be consistent in the gym. I wasn’t fit at the time, but I was still skinny. Even if I wasn’t skinny, that’s extremely insensitive and unprofessional. People get very discouraged going to gym’s as is. Now regarding my cancellation, I told them I would be cancelling my membership in March 2023. They told me I couldn’t do it via email or on the phone but had to go in person. Red flag #1. So I went in and “cancelled” it. They continued to charge me from April until October. I kept calling them nonstop and it wasn’t until I left a bad review around October/November 2023 that they called me back and admitted to their fault. They reimbursed me and said I was good to go.

Fast forward to December 2023 now I’m getting calls from a debt collector stating I owe them money. It has been two years and by this point they have tarnished my credit. Don’t even think about joining this gym. They’ll do whatever they can to steal your money and find their way around the system.

They make it nearly impossible to cancel your membership — you have to show up in person, even if you’ve moved out of state. They refused to cancel mine over the phone, then sent me to collections and spammed my phone with calls.

This review honestly isn’t even necessary because the gym speaks for itself the moment you walk in but wow. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place is just too much. I barely even come here anymore, and every time I do, I’m instantly reminded why I stopped. It somehow gets worse each visit, like a game of “What’s broken or missing today?” Treadmills are often off during peak hours, stair masters are almost always down, machines are missing pins, the water fountains barely work, and the sauna is pitch black. The whole place feels neglected, messy, and like no one’s actually running it. It’s giving abandoned warehouse with gym posters on the wall. For the price they charge, it’s actually offensive. The only thing left is for the roof to collapse and honestly, at the rate this place is going, I wouldn’t be surprised.
