I left this gym over 18 months ago because it was falling into a state of disrepair and they would no longer let you take photographs of yourself nor were they letting you wipe down the equipment which was always being covered in sweat and then the equipment started to fall on the disrepair and they never bothered to repair any of it and now I just found out they've been trying to bill me now for the over the past year!

Because of this shady company and their horrible business practices I'm now having to get a new debit card reissued which is throwing off all of my billing cycles so I hope amped fitness is prepared because I'm reaching out to a lawyer right now and they will be speaking with me about compensating me for my time and my suffering if I should find out I'm entitled to any of it if nothing else I can rest assured that my better Business bureau complaint and my Federal trade commission complaints are also going to go through and that my bank is disputing every one of these charges!

Do yourself a favor and never go to amped fitness they were really good about 7 years ago? But these days they're just a glorified gulge gym with a lower standard and worse business practices and I hope this place goes out of business because it doesn't deserve to stay in business when just trying to rob its former customers!

Please don’t come here unless your already a professional or look Good in shape I signed up for this gym because my brother recommended me for it at first the over look and signing up was so easy and I loved the atmosphere seem like everyone got along and the manger gave us a tour and told us how good of a workout it was but I was not ready for the horror I was gonna receive the next day the manger keep pressuring us to get a personall trainer but wasn’t as bad yes repeat we would tell him no he would try to pressure us to the point where he made us feel bad so we said no he left us alone and brought a more personal tanner to come and let us do a 10 min session and btw he never warm us up he just made us do workout so fast Anad again I was new to the gym and he was worst and pressure us to let him train us almost corner us I wanted to things on my own after i repeated told then no multiple times due to income issues it was insane I almost felt corner and if I said yes was the only option please I decide to leave the amount ofpressure to get a personal trannier was inside almost making me feel bad for not signing up for one even though I already got the membership fix this issue I plead owner don’t allow your personal tranniers to almost come for us when we say no I
Understand marketing but this was a whole new level and as well to the manger of the personal trannier corner people and not allowing people to say no IS INSANE

Hello, I am Shadana J, and I just wanted to say Jordan (The trainer) was awesome. I know i was hard to train, but he was so patient and kind. Jordan answered every question I had and was very knowledgeable about the body and muscles. I have never stayed with a trainer this long, but I was blessed with Jordan, and I enjoyed the journey. Thanks, Jordan for being an awesome person. I really enjoyed our session. YOU ROCK

Imagine a gym if a 10 year old was maintaining it. Things are broken alot of the time. I don't think there isn't a treadmill without a strange rattle. The bathroom is gross, the lock for the stall has been taped on for about a year now, its like $2 and a trio to home depot to fix it. For some reason they decided to paint the tile and grout with latex so its kinda all gross now. There is water damage in the corner of the cealing, and there bathroom exhaust is a dewalt fan covered in dust and rattling itself to death. Some of the cables in the machines are frayed and will easily poke through your skin. There isn't equipment without rust on it, and the ac kinda sucks even though they got it fixed a few months ago. And who ever decided to caulk the painted grout should go back to kindergarten to learn finger painting. Jordan is a pretty fun personal trainer tho, only reason I go back.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM! The trainers are not properly certified and will overextend members CAUSING THEM TO PEE BLOOD!! After a horrible experience with his trainer, AND PEEING BLOOD, my partner canceled everything. After canceling his membership amped tried to send a bill to collections stating he owed over $400 when he paid everything and they never reached out saying any amount was owed. After dealing with the law office they sent it to IN UTAH, amped cancelled their collection charges since we provided proof they were trying to illegally charge him. THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU DO NOT GO HERE

UPDATE: 9/29/2025
Here we are almost a year later and they’re trying to charge my card AGAIN!!! Stay clear of this scamming business

Big gym with plenty of space, most of the machines work fine. The dumbbells are rusty but no big deal if you’re here to train. Biggest issue is they removed the wipes and spray — now the equipment is always sweaty and you can’t clean it. Staff keeps the place clean otherwise, but the sweaty machines are a real turnoff.

Been coming here for years and only see that it’s gone down hill. equipment is always broken and you can’t even take a hot shower because management is too cheap to replace the broken hot water heater. Bathrooms are gross and outdated and could use a remodeling. Sad to say this was my favorite gym, but now it’s just trash.

The gym is kind of fifty fifty It's a good place to work out, but they don't maintain any of the equipment Can the reason I say that because a lot of people complain and I hear them The t v's on the treadmill have been off for like almost a year and a half In some of the treadmills don't work properly and I see people moving over times 2 or 3 times to get a machine that works correctly I've been here for like 3 and a 1/2 years. They're really not maintaining it good If I was in charge, there would be a lot of people fired I think i'm about to turn in my membership anyway

I canceled my Amped Fitness membership over EIGHT months ago and thought that was the end of it. Fast forward to today — I get a call from a lawyer saying I “missed payments” and am now being threatened with collections. Excuse me? I haven’t set foot in this gym since I canceled, and I followed their process to the letter.

Instead of an apology or resolution, I’m treated like a deadbeat over a membership I do not have. This is not just sloppy management — this is predatory billing. If you’re thinking about joining, ask yourself if you’re ready to fight lawyers months after you leave.

Amped Fitness clearly values squeezing money out of former members over basic honesty and professionalism. Save yourself the headache and stay far away.

I have had a gym membership here twice. First time I cancelled because of the “dudes only” atmosphere and members filming for social media. I tried other gyms but their hours were restrictive. I came back here after 2 years and found the atmosphere better and restarted my membership. Shortly after, I decided to move and cancelled my membership. I ended up paying the annual membership fee and the following month’s membership rate because that is their policy. Machines are OK, facility offerings are average, and honestly I still felt like the staff was judgmental. I would wholeheartedly recommend another gym if you are a woman.

I initially signed a contract last year. I looked at the contract and thought I was signing up to a monthly membership. I was called numerous times about working with a personal trainer and into my understanding. It was a free session the first time which I did, and with my back issues, I left hurting and never agreed to what I understood was a Routine where I would continue to do that. Still not sure if I’m even underneath that type of contract. I do know that I tried calling and explaining my business hours and how it is hard to stop in to cancel my membership, but when I received a bill from a collections agency, I was very dumbfounded so I called and they said that they had no idea why I was being billed from the collection agency so I can ask can I please cancel they told me I had to come in. I told him that was hard to do. What I don’t understand is how I am being billed by a collection company, but they’re still to this day taking money from my bank account every month and that amount changes. I decided to do what I’ve read and just try to communicate with corporate because people at the Largo location have been rude over the phone. I haven’t visited the location in probably over a year now and I didn’t realize that I was still paying for it because I was still Under the impression that it was a month-to-month, I take accountability that I guess I didn’t read that I had to physically sign a cancellation form or send it by certified mail which is ridiculous and one sense but to be sent to collections while they’re still taking money out of my bank is another. Hopefully I will hear from corporate and can get this dealt with as if you read the one star reviews or many of the reviews, you will see it is very hard to deal with the people in the location.

I only have the membership so I can use my phone on the WiFi while I workout and take a hot shower afterwards.

WiFi is very bad can almost never connect. Last two weeks there has been no hot water at any time 24/7.

Very disappointing gym I’d give it a one star but the staff are at least nice. Not sure about the manager as I have been practically shooed away when asked about the hot water not getting hot.

I would cancel but this is the closest gym to me so I’m here hoping things get better.

This is so disappointing! This place used to be great! 3 year ago I left a five star review about how great the equipment, atmosphere and cleanliness of the gym was. And at the time it was all true. I haven't been regularly in a year and every time I go back I'm foolishly reminded of why I stay away. The only bright spot is the Tryone location, but the same problems of dirt and broken equipment are creeping up there too. Largo is my "main" gym or whatever. Next time I go in there, I'm cancelling. The only saving grace is that they're 24 hr. But even that is becoming less and less of a reason to keep putting up with them. What happened to you??? You used to be perfect.

I'm a member of Amped fitness. This is "the first time" that I've joined a gym that has "A Lot" of rusty equipment. The staff is kind, and knowledge in fitness. The problem with the Largo FL location is half the equipment either is rusty and chippings in some way shape or form, and or it "doesn't work at all." Sadly no sign is on the broken, and malfunctioning equipment letting us know that its broke. This is an ongoing problem. Compared to other gyms Amped fitness equipment is also outdated. I'm sorry to say this because the staff is nice, and the place looks nice. Im just being honest..

Some of the cardio equipment is broken. Lots of things seem a little worn out. They don't have a full set of kettle bells. No spin or assault bikes. Didn't see any medicine balls or slam balls but I could have missed them. Not a horrible gym but there are better ones in the area.

This company is a total SCAM. They took over for a YouFit at a different location forever ago and started charging my card monthly about a year ago. I no longer live in the area and now I have to send certified mail to get the membership cancelled or go in person AND pay another month. I HAVE NEVER ENTERED THE DOORS OF THIS PLACE and have been charged over $300 in the past year.

I will be reporting this to the BBB and disputing the charges with my bank.

One of the worst gym experiences I’ve ever had. I joined this gym hoping for a positive change, but I regretted switching from LA Fitness almost immediately. By June—just six months in—I had already stopped going, yet I kept the membership, hoping I might eventually return. Unfortunately, I barely stepped foot in the place again.

When the two hurricanes hit, I was dealing with financial hardship. I delayed canceling because I had already paid annual fees and couldn’t afford to start over at another gym until the year was up. I even had to pay late in September/October because of the storms and was charged a late fee nearly equal to the monthly membership cost.

By October, I realized I needed to cancel. I went in and explained my situation to the staff: that I hadn’t been in for months, had been affected by the hurricanes, and had already paid a late fee. I asked if they could waive the final month’s charge as a courtesy. Instead of empathy, I was met with a cold, dismissive attitude. The staff member seemed more concerned that I might be switching gyms than actually trying to help me.

The gym itself is poorly maintained—the place smells bad, the cardio machines are outdated or broken, and the customer service reflects the same lack of care. After canceling, I thought I was finally done. But because my final payment didn’t go through (due to a card change), they sent a $28 balance to collections—claiming I never canceled at all.

The collections agent (who also happens to be a lawyer) told me to provide proof of cancellation. I found the email confirmation—but to my surprise, it included a vague line: “This membership will be cancelled after receipt of last payment.” That single sentence is what they’re using to claim I defaulted and still owe for an entire year of membership. Now, a $28 balance has ballooned into a $260 collections notice, and I’m being threatened with legal action.

This gym clearly values money over integrity. It’s incredibly disheartening. I strongly urge anyone considering this gym to look elsewhere—don’t make the same mistake I did.

Does this location not have management? Emails and calls go unreturned. People at the front desk seem clueless or just do not want to be bothered. The facilities are gross, The bathrooms are dingy, frequently dirty, and in desperate need of renovations. Much of the Cardio equipment is broken and has been (as well as at least one machin for MONTHS! Several pieces of equipment do not even show the weight anymore because its so old its been rubbed off so good luck tracking your progress! No central location for plates so workouts take wayyyyy longer than necessary just searching for plates. Equipment is dated, rusty, the walls look dirty despite being black, and the floor needs to be repaired or replaced. These issues are many times mentioned in older reviews and they keep replying that they are working on it - HA! The same problems and zero meaningful improvement says otherwise. Way too many options around to settle for this place. Amped Fitness needs to get management in here immediately.

i've been a member here for years. in the last year, specifically the last few months, the place has gone to absolute shit. i love the trainers, they're amazing people & good at their jobs, i just wish they didn't work in such a terrible gym under terrible conditions.

to start, this past summer, the AC was out for MONTHS. it was 90°+ in there. people were passing out. the AC still isnt fully fixed, almost a year later. there is terrible ventilation. half of the machines are either broken, or the weight labels are scratched off so you dont even know how much you're lifting. the company did not bother fixing ANY of that. instead, they wasted money on unnecessary aesthetic renovations. members have been begging, for YEARS, for the company to improve equipment, & instead they put in fluorescent overhead lights right in front of a mirror, blinding everyone near it.

now they're trying to raise prices for personal training, despite the fact that they have fixed NOTHING & they're not adding anything to the service at all. they just want us to pay more money for the same product & shitty environment. & it seems the turnover rate is higher than ever for all staff. there has been a new manager like every 2-3 months (if that) for the last year. old trainers leaving after years, and new trainers quitting after just a few weeks or days. this, i can only assume, means they're probably not even seeing any of that extra money they expect us to pay. so why are we paying more? to fund your other, newer locations while you leave largo to rot?

finally, the gym used to be a comfortable, safe environment. management was nice, the staff was great. now, there is a toxic masculine culture there. there are a few select people on staff who are amazing, but others are weird and pushy, and the members have adopted that vibe and energy. members are always pissed off because everything is broken and/or dirty, it always feels stuffy, the music doesnt work half the time, & there is barely anyone left that us years-long members recognize on staff. it feels like it went from a motivational place that tells you to work out because you deserve to feel good to a toxic place that tells you to work out because you're a loser.

overall, this place is just gross now. both literally & metaphorically. the only time i find it tolerable to be there is when i'm working with my trainer or i'm in one of their classes. im cancelling my membership as soon as my training contract is up because im not messing with that predatory cancellation fee (which, by the way, is now 50% of your contract instead of the 30% it used to be).

i used to love this gym. it was the first gym i stepped back into after a long break, but amped is going to lose all of their loyal clients & business at largo if they keep up this bullshit.

EDIT: a lot of their responses to other negative reviews state how much they care & how they are working to fix it. it has been months & things have only gotten worse. actions speak louder than words.

I was a member of this club for three and a half years and it used to be a great place to work out. Unfortunately, in the last few weeks, the gym hired a very unprofessional employee. He claims to be the new manager and I believe his name is "Nate." This individual is very disturbed. For reasons unknown, he started following me around the gym, harassing me, claiming my technique on whatever I am doing is "all wrong." Personally, I couldn't care less what he thinks since I have been lifting weights for over twenty years before this kid was even born. Yesterday was the last straw. He came at me again, hysterically screaming about how horrible my technique supposedly was and how I have scratched up equipment, ignoring the fact that all the equipment is scratched up and has been for years. I canceled my membership the next day and went out and found a new gym not far away.
I intend to file a written against this person with the owner and corporate CEO of Amped. This guy has some serious mental problems and as long as he is there, I won't be.
Personally, I think this guy will wind up destroying the business as he drives more and more customers out and away.

You ask the front desk staff for answers and all you get is “oh I don’t work at this location I don’t know anyone” every damn day. Look I love this gym the staff is absolutely awesome here BUT for goodness sake never having working stairsteppers is beyond ridiculous seeing how there's only 3 for the whole gym but at least 15 unused ellipticals . I know the owner was once a body builder so I expect better, especially with the "new renovation" there should be NO broken equipment or lack of equipment. Scrap the ellipticals and bring in some more stairs. Then y'all by all means can get a 5 star from me. I'd give a one bc of it but I love the staff to much.

Ohh Yeah and the WHole A/C vent system thing ripped out more then half of it at least 10 weeks ago STILL Not fixed. Then there is the tanning beds down for weeks for just bulbs, then only 1 repaired for us members that Pay for that extra. LATEST. They post up and email closing for renovations over the Holiday week when Most people are off, Umm Ok, but THEN on FB page they post up & it says they are open so myself and Others go just to see closed sign on the door, WTH, I Messaged on FB No response, , Respond to that post saying open, No response, its like Nobody actually knows whats going on.Again, get what you pay for, guess i Expected Way much, But Staff is nice... I’ve been to this gym since March and loved it. Yes some machines are older and sometimes out of service who cares it happens. They’re usually fixed pretty quickly. Staff has always been helpful and kind.

Although, today I’m fed up with the men at this gym. Today is the second time in two weeks I’ve been told to move off a machine because they are still working on their set. Literally multiple machines down and come out of nowhere asking you to move. Mind you- if there was a water bottle or something on the machine I would understand but this is enough. It would be one thing if I was asked kindly but both times it has been rude. Idk what these roid raging men get off on billing women on machines but this needs to end. Idk how to fix this but from now on I will be saying “no!”.

As a long time old school 53 yr old weight lifter, I'd like to see some cast iron dumbbells, better hammer equipment and a variety of kettlebells 45s,50s,55s,60s,and up..moreso them than anything , I've been going to your gym in Carrollwood and the have a variety of sizes. So I have to gym hop. I go to Carrollwood for upper body or Esporta and Largo for leg day.

I signed up at this gym for personal training sessions 3 times a week with their trainer Jordan with a 12 month contract …. Life was going good till work had me move back to Colorado. I brought this up with Jordan and asked what I should do. He said that since I’m moving out of state I can cancel contract. So he had me fill out paper work and was given them 60 day notice. Flash forward months of weird phone calls. I get a letter today from an attorney stating I owe 3400 dollars….. you guys are scamming people. I did everything you asked me to do but still this smh. You don’t even have amped here in Colorado.

Update: I emailed you guys last week after you responded with the email to reach out to. No response from management or anything. This is showing why this is happening in the first place. Waiting for this to be resolved……

Amped Fitness Largo – Beyond Disappointing

I recently visited Amped Fitness in Largo, Florida, and this was, by far, the worst gym experience I have ever had. The list of issues is so long, it’s hard to believe they’re still operating.

First off, most of the machines were broken. Shockingly, only ONE had a sign indicating it was out of order. Every other broken machine was left for unsuspecting members to try and nearly get injured—just like my best friend almost did when a treadmill started shaking dangerously. This level of negligence is unacceptable and puts gym-goers at serious risk.

On top of that, the machines are covered in rust. If you had any open wounds, you’d be at risk of getting rust in them. And to make matters worse, they don’t even change the rags meant for cleaning the equipment. It’s unsanitary, unsafe, and downright disgusting.

The environment itself is toxic. It’s overly masculine and unwelcoming, making it uncomfortable for anyone who doesn’t fit that vibe. There’s also no space—everything is cramped, hot, and the gym smells like pure sweat. With broken machines everywhere, what’s the point of having multiples if none of them work? The whole place stinks, and there’s not nearly enough air circulation.

There’s no focus on functional body training either. The music is barely loud enough to cover any conversation, making you feel like you're shouting every time you talk. Even the few machines that do work are run-down and unreliable, often shutting off mid-workout and losing track of progress.

Lastly, every emergency pull string clip was broken—completely inexcusable when it comes to gym safety. Amped Fitness Largo is a total disaster. If you care about your safety, cleanliness, and a functional workout environment, steer clear of this place. Do better, Amped Fitness.

Do yourself a favor if you value your hard earned money and stay away from this company. Shady Business Practices.

The contract they put me under is "month to month". The application had Auto Renew = "None". Which means NO renewal. They continuously charged my card for nearly a year after not going to their gym and treating this as an annual contract renewing each month. They sent letter in the mail from a law office stating I had to pay roughly $230. This was an old card and I had not realized they were charging me until months later.

Read all the reviews on Better Business Bureau. This alone will help you make a better decision.

Edit: Read the reply they sent. Completely disregarding the fact my auto renew was set to none on the app. Thanks for showing an example amped!

Edit 2: So you're blatantly misinforming your members on the app about their membership status? For what reason other than to steal as much money as you can. I suggest you take a peak at the Unfair Trade Practices Act. If you have this many complaints about your business then maybe you should look into your shady business practices and make improvements. However, given the replies I have seen on mine and other's complaints I can see you have one goal in mind. Also, fix your websites deceptive practices. You have 2 weeks to do so or you will be reported. I am not going to tell you what laws you are breaking that would make it less fun wouldnt it?

Update x2 in response to Amped's response -

You had two of my cards on file, which you did not charge for several months for the "personal training fees", but managed to continue to bill me for my actual gym membership. I was not aware I was being charged, and no one notified me or charged me. Your GM or manager, also would not let me cancel my membership or person training without first bringing the account current. I offered to pay the outstanding balance to shut my membership down, and I was then told that I would ALSO have to pay the cancelation of 3 months. Completely un-ethical business practices. I'm actually filing a complaint with the attorney general, as well as corporate. Based on the recent complaints, this business practice seems to be a common theme with your new management.

Update: They continued to add charges to the account, after stating I would be unable to cancel the account without paying the $600. I just received a letter stating that I owed $1300 from their lawyer. Extremely predatory business practices.

I genuinely had a great experience to start. The staff was always friendly, the wait time for machines wasn't terrible, etc. I had been going there for several months before having a conversation with the General Manager about some personal training sessions in November of 2022. This was something I had a mild interest in, but decided to go forward with it. I paid my initial 4 sessions up front ($120) and it was explained to me that It would then become a recurring charge after that. Sure, no problem. Rescheduling happened on my part due to work conflicts, and then the trainer stopped following up so I never actually received the training sessions, and then I forgot all about it.

Fast forward to May, (mind you, I've been in the gym numerous times since November and have spoken with the front desk person every single time) I go to buy a drink at the front desk, which i do every single gym session because I'm incapable of remembering to bring a water bottle, and the lady at the desk says there was a notification that I have an outstanding balance of approximately $600 (how did this notification never come up every other time I'd bought a drink?). It turns out that during the 6 months since I signed up, they had continued to charge me for training sessions, regardless of whether or not I used them. The kicker here is though, they never charged the cards that I have on file (which they are supposed to per their contract). They never notified me the times I was in the gym, no one reached out to me, emailed me, called me, etc. They were completely able to charge my girlfriends and I's two standard memberships monthly, but were "magically" unable to charge the recurring monthly charge of $90 to either of the two cards I have on file "due to a billing error" that apparently lasted 6 months. The GM was completely unwilling to budge on the price. Said it was my fault for not remembering and that it was not their responsibility to remind me of a charge, service or balance. I requested that he cancel my membership and please stop the future $90 charges for the person training, which he denied. Stating that he would not cancel or stop the charges from accruing until everything was paid in full. He admitted after speaking with his customer service team on the phone that they had a billing error and were unable to process the two cards on file. I offered to pay 1/3 of the $600, stating if their system was "working correctly", I would have been reminded, via the monthly charges to cancel. He again stated that was not their responsibility and that I had every chance to cancel on my own accord and the full amount was due.

I highly recommend avoiding this gym for personal training. The trainer did not meet my expectations, the facilities were dirty, and the overall atmosphere was underwhelming. I started off at Pinellas Park six months ago which was great but moved to Largo so now this is my home gym for the past few months. It’s been great! There is plenty of room between equipment, it’s constantly being cleaned and the other gym members keep to themselves unless giving friendly advice.
I recently decided to get on a plan to have more structure. Jacob is my trainer and has set up a workout plan and nutritional guidelines tailored to the results I’m looking forward to. Jacob is a great motivator and can push you through a lot in a little bit of time.

If YouFit, I mean restructured YouFit Gyms would’ve fitted the gym here where and how the owners of Amped currently now use it…Maybe they’d be here instead of closed down. But Amped turned up this location after YouFit closed up shop. With athletic looking staff, new amped atmosphere, and most importantly new equipment. Just remember this was the first gym to reopen here in Pinellas County during the Covid lockdown. The owners are about that “Workout”! The gym has aged well, and the atmosphere is still about that “Hustle”!

After reading several other reviews now I see I’m not the only one who experienced shady business practices. When I first came to this gym, I just had a regular membership. Everything went great. The location had just opened. I moved away for a short time so I had canceled my membership; but when I moved back, I tried to restart it. When I came in for a membership, Rob kept trying to convince me to do personal training, although I kept telling him that it was not in my budget nor was it necessary since I was very knowledgeable on fitness already. Rob still told me that I should come back for a follow up which I did and he continued to try to sell me the personal training package which I then refused again. He sat me down and asked how much I made and tried to budget out my money for me, I was going through tough times with my career and family and just getting out of very abusive and toxic relationship. Looking back the way he spoke to me felt more manipulative than a like an upselling technique. He asked several personal questions and me being in a vulnerable state, answered I answered them. I wasn’t fully aware of what I was signing, as well as wasn’t in the greatest mental space when I made this decision. Within the month I received a charge for way over the amount of my membership cost when I went to confront Amped about it. They told me if I wanted to cancel this personal training contract. I needed to talk to Rob, but every time I went in, he wasn’t there. I called the place several times trying to cancel this contract because I couldn’t afford it nor did I even want to have a personal trainer. They then told me that there was no way to cancel this contract and I would have to go to the training sessions. I signed up for one session and showed up on time, I talked to several employees, but none of them seemed to know who my personal trainer was that day. I left and I felt embarrassed and confused and told Rob that I wanted a refund and get out of this contract immediately. He refused to cancel it, and I ultimately had to leave the gym because I couldn’t afford that money being taken out every month as well as I felt so taken advantage of. It’s been over a year now, and I’ve recently started receiving letters in the mail that I am in debt with this company as well as receiving several phone calls a day that I owe them over a thousand dollars. These people only want your money so be careful what you sign up for. I came in here to better my mental and physical health and ultimately put myself in a bigger deeper hole.

The gym is decent, but the airflow is lacking, and the air conditioning is often off or set very low. However, the equipment is in good condition. I signed up for a membership because they had a $1 sign up special for the New Year, I thought it would be cool to do for a month for just a dollar. I was going to cancel before they charged me an annual fee because I only wanted to do the month of January... They charged me 68 dollars and they said regardless if I canceled a week after I signed up they would have charged me the $68 annual fee and they won't refund me because it's their policy... THEY SHOULD'VE DISCLOSED THAT VERBALLY. All these guys want is your money, TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE. When I signed up they scheduled me for a "free dietary and BMI check" then after that they grilled me to get a personal trainer after I said NO about 15 times they still wouldn't let up... AGAIN, ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY.. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE, YOU WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER... I should've listened to the 1 star reviews, these people are snakes in the grass. BTW, They like to reply to reviews on here to act like they are taking care of situations but they clearly are not. People keep leaving the same negative reviews for the past YEAR, equipment being down for a long time, gym is dusty, it smells musty and is hot. None of it is getting resolved but they like to act like they're taking care of it.

So it’s not terrible (I did a free day pass to see how I liked it because it’s close to me and is open 24 hours) but the second I walked in I immediately smelled body odor, and the place was humid and hot. There are no fans circulating the air which makes it difficult for the place to cool down. This location does not have the babe cave or the hydro massage, you have to travel all the way to Tyrone to get those amenities. Also the gym needs to be maintained better as it is one of the oldest Amped locations, the machines have visible rust on the metal parts and there is not a separate place you can stretch or do floor workouts if the turf area is taken by a class. Overall I would not recommend this location but I haven’t been to the others yet. Will update if I decide to go after they renovated a little (hopefully). Besides that, The employee that helped me while I was there was very nice and helpful with all of my questions.

The ellipticals are so rusted out and make popping noises, same with the treadmills. I understand the monthly fee is super cheap but I'm not sure it's even worth $10 a month. The worst part is it's supposed to be 24 hours but the app never works and I can never get in. And no one will let you in out of fear they will get charged. 12/27/2023: I see I got a public response from the company now trying to work with me directly. I would have never posted this review if I had not already attempted to resolve this issue through the proper channels. I submitted both the medical letter from my surgeon and a follow up letter to the regional personal training manager (Clay), requesting an appeal due to the circumstances, which were denied. THE CONTRACT IS VERY SKETCHY. In addition to the clause your company hid behind because the surgeon did not state that I could NEVER benefit from these sessions, I learned MORE! I continued to pay for the sessions from March until August, even tried to go back for a couple sessions but wasn't ready (had an additional surgery last week). I was verbally told in March that I could continue paying for the sessions then use them when released by the surgeon, but then saw the contract stated that any unused sessions must be used within 30 days of canceling the contract OR non-renewal, so I am puzzled as to when I would have been able to use those sessions I was paying for that were stacking up, month after month, if I would need to use them all within 30 days.... DON'T BOTHER TRYING NOW, MANAGEMENT.
Joined this gym in Largo in February 2023. When I went to check it out, the tour focused on the room where small classes are held primarily. I was not given a tour of the cardio area or the rest of the facilities. I realized upon my first visit why. The equipment at the facility is in such poor condition, with many of them not working, with visible rust buildup. I wasn’t thrilled about that, but I continued to use the gym because I also signed up for weekly personal training sessions.
What really upsets me about this place is that I was involved in a major motorcycle accident in March breaking several bones in my left arm and hand and elbow and left foot and ankle to see if I could freeze my personal training sessions until I healed enough to use them again I was told no -I could either continue to pay for the sessions at over $200 per month and use them whenever I am released by the doctor or I could pay $350 to cancel them all together. Although I provided a letter to from my doctor stating that he would advise that I don’t participate in personal training at this time as I am still in occupational and physical therapy, and likely going to need additional surgery, because that letter did not state that I will never benefit from personal training again, they would not accept this as a medical release.
I will definitely be canceling both my personal training, contract and membership going forward, as I feel this company has input a clause into their personal training contract that is shady in the least. While I still have a good 20 sessions that I paid for, I will never be able to get the benefit from them that was originally intended due to the injuries that have not yet healed. It could be a year or more before that occurs, so beware! Read this contract carefully and be prepared to come out of pocket if you have an unplanned emergency that leaves you unable to use them.

For the price and hours it'll do for now. The equipment, especially the cardio section is horrendous. Good luck finding a treadmill you feel safe running on or an elliptical machine that doesn't pop and creak. The TVs? Forget it. The place always smells like a dirty litter box too. They play good music on the weekend when it's staffed, but during the week prepare to get Rick Rolled, literally. Not sure who keeps that AM playlist going, but no one wants to lift to Madonna, like a virgin at 4am.

Maybe you can skip opening yet another location and update this one. (Yes, we know it's the first and it's been open 24/7). That's a pretty poor excuse for the equipment condition. It's not that hard to swap out 5 or 10 machines here and there.

Loved having a membership here! Everyone is super respectful and willing to show me how to do different skills. I had jordan as a personal trainer and he did a wonderful job pushing my limits and showing me the different machines around the gym :)

I had a great time at this gym, worked with a personal trainer Jordan. I've never really worked out in my life so I decided to work with Jordan. Every day I decided on what area (upper/lower body) I'd like to work out and Jordan would immediately know a good routine workout to do without hesitation. It was also rarely the same workout which was awesome because it also taught me a huge variety of workouts you can do which I really appreciated. He did a great job balancing pushing me and motivating me to take myself as close to my limits as possibe which I needed and thought was great. Jordan is incredibly knowledgeable regarding the body, muscles and tons of workouts that target specific areas, he's also very friendly and personable and was a great trainer for me, I had a great experience!

Staff are fairly friendly but the gym itself seems poorly maintained. Dust on the walls, highly noticeable rust on cardio equipment, noisey, missing bottom of cup holders, tvs don’t work or fuzzy. Air vents look like they haven’t been cleaned in ages. Took them almost a year to fix a mirror. Out of all the amp gyms this is the worst by far

Customers can be very aggressive over gym equipment. As a women, I have had several men knock me off of the machines I was on. Gym staff was not helpful. Unfortunately very common here

Very rude and unprofessional staff. Tried to discuss canceling or freezing contract and was told either continue to pay monthly fee of almost $400 that I said I could not afford or pay $706 cancelation fee!!! They would not compromise or work out a plan. No compassion whatsoever. Will never go back.

Very no frills gym. Most of the treadmills barely work; and the equipment is visibly worn. I stuck with it for a year as I mostly used the free weights and didn’t mind the grunge atmosphere. They still tried to charge me the annual fee because my “30 day written notice” overlapped. Oh, and you must go in person to cancel! Buyer beware. It should be this difficult.

It's an adequate gym with poorly maintained equipment. You can definitely get a good workout in though. Just don't look for any ab machines. Their policies are very friendly to people that want to workout in a safe and clean atmosphere. They don't allow tripods, which is awesome. It's a gym, not an Instagram studio. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The price is right and it is a true 24/7 gym unlike Planet Fitness that pretends to be.
