The location is convient and it's never extremely busy is a plus. The cleanliness of the bathrooms require drastic improvement! They are nasty!!! The mens bathroom toilet is constantly broken, and both bathrooms smell as though there's some type of septic issue due to the consistent smell. The bathrooms can also use better lighting. I'd think twice before I ever use the showers or even strip naked in the bathroom and have my foot touch the floors.

The equipment is old and the squat rack has been broken for months. This location needs help!

Addendum: Good news! Just learned that AF Eastlake got a new manager. Today, Scott B. contacted me to inquire about my review. He was able to take care of my membership issue. Thank you, Scott! He has been working diligently to rectify the other issues as well. He is responsive, caring, and experienced. I wish him well!

I’m not sure which gym these other reviews are for because this is not my experience at East Lake. The manager is not in his office during hours posted. The place is not well maintained. Equipment is in disrepair. Bathrooms are dirty. Negative, threatening signs posted to members. Paper towel holders regularly empty or with rolls sitting on top of the dispensers. Additionally, the manager does not adhere to AF corporate culture and will not change contracts to accommodate new payor status ( regular membership to Silver and Fit). He insists that the contract be paid in full or wait until contract expires before a change is made. According to other AF gyms, this is not the routine. I would not recommend getting involved with this gym.

I don't live in the area anymore, so I don't know. Original review below. And yes, I absolutely had the correct gym.

This is the most expensive gym around and the worst. Only 3 of the 6 TVs work on the treadmills. 2 of the machines are broken and the owner refuses to fix them. It's filthy dirty and always smells of sewage. We plan on leaving. I'd rather drive farther and pay less for a better gym.

I've been a member of this Anytime Fitness franchise since it opened 14 years ago. Unfortunately, it has been turned over several times by different owners. Good & Bad things happen when facilities change ownership. Recently, a new manager was hired; his name is Bryan, with a "Y," I can genuinely say he has been working very diligently to get this facility back in its glory days. It takes all of us to help keep a facility like this clean and in order. So please do your part to clean up after yourself after each use, re-stack the use of your weights, and keep this gym clean because the only alternative we have if you live in this community is the YMCA. Although I have nothing negative about the YMCA, I like the more private feeling of the Anytime Fitness facility.

Anytime Fitness has been my gym for the last 17 years due to its unique facilities where it's more of a personal and private club, come and go as you please with a swab key and the lights, TVs and music are all on for you. However, most of these Anytime Fitness gyms are not managed well at all in fact it almost ruins your motivation for going to get a workout because it is so ran down, nothing is upgrade or cleaned and you can tell there is no love at all put into that facility, it shows and the people who go there do notice that the owners and managers are not involved!

This brings me to my personal favorite..

This particular facility has been through many managers over the years with more of the same lack of passion and just dull atmosphere. Fortunately, now enter new manager Brian who is full of energy, knowledge and has the passion that this facility needs and it shows. Brian is incredibly involved with the facility, constantly cleaning and working on all equipment, he is involved with the members, listening to us, and sharing his knowledge and experiences, also taking time to show how the equipment is to be used and training members in detail. This has been so uplifting to me personally that I brought my two daughters to this gym for a membership and they love it. I can't thank Brian enough for his 100% dedication and for the inspiration that he has brought to me and my family. I will recommend this Anytime Fitness location to everyone as it is finally on the right path to being a Facility that is a joy to go and get some work in! Thank you to the Owners and to Brian who is the hands on difference. 💪👏

Similar to other reviews, I was a member here about eight years ago and decided to try it again recently. There is a new manager, Bryan, who is simply phenomenal. He's been nothing short of great helping me get setup, and he's always there when he says he'll be there. I was about to quit this gym for many reasons, but then the owner finally hired a new manager named Bryan. In the 5 or so weeks that he has been working here, he has completely turned this place around. Bryan cleans the gym top to bottom everyday and now when you go in there it doesn't smell like dirty socks (my allergies have been so much better since he showed up). Besides the cleaning Bryan does, he is also very knowledgeable when it comes to fitness, nutrition. I've been training for over 20 years, and in the past 4 weeks under Bryan's new management this gym has completely turned around. Bryan cleans the entire gym daily and engages with all members, offering his help wherever needed. When Bryan introduced himself, he offered to review my nutrition and fitness program, and I'm so glad I took him up on it. His knowledge of fitness and nutrition is incredible. He showed me new exercises and provided a list of superfoods to add to my daily routine. Unlike other gyms where you feel lost, Bryan truly cares about each member's fitness journey. I joined Anytime Fitness the other day to work on rehabilitating myself after multiple surgeries. I was so nervous to join another gym because fitness and nutrition have always been intimidating for me due to my lack of knowledge and experience.When I came to tour the gym, I met Bryan, the new manager. Right away, he was so welcoming and knowledgeable about his industry. There was no high-pressure sales pitch; you could tell that Bryan was genuinely interested in my situation and knew exactly what I needed to do to achieve my goals. Recently, this location hired a new staff member, Brian, who has transformed this gym. I will say, a gym is a gym and it’s not ever crowded which is really nice. However, to be paying that much a month for something that has such limited and broken equipment is pretty bad. However, some locations are much better than the others. Also you can only bring guests when people are working which is a super limited amount of time. If you’re someone who’s thinking to cancel their membership, be warned….you lose access to all the gyms except your home one. You also will probably lose access to your home gym if Kendrick is the one that helps you cancel it. Highly recommend a different gym if possible.

This is a very nice, clean, and quiet gym. When I signed up for my membership, I also signed up for one month of personal training with Brooke. She is very kind and encouraging. She is very good at explaining what different exercises target as well as how to best avoid injury. Through her program I learned how to use a lot of equipment I had never touched before. Went to check the place out today at 10:30 for a membership, and no one was there. Door posted office hours Monday-Thursday 09:00-19:00. I called and no one answered. This happened last week as well, I just thought I would give it another try. After reading the recent reviews, I am grateful.

I loved the motivational slag posted all over the outside of the building. Maybe turn them so they are facing inside the building so you can motivate your staff to come to work.

What a terrible gym. Extremely small and way overpriced. Most equipment has some component loose or entirely missing. The fabric on the benches is tearing away and there’s little to no care by staff. Honestly ~ this gym sucks… Gym is really really nasty. Layers of dust, dirt, germs cover the machines. I set my phone down for a minute and when I picked it up it was covered in gunk and I had to clean/sanitize it. Most people don’t wipe the seats off when they’re done. This gym is also really really small, it’s almost ridiculous how small it is. Machines are old. If you go after 5pm it’s full of “gym bros” who shark around the machines. I honestly won’t go to this gym without my boyfriend because some of the men make me feel uncomfortable (which isn’t the gyms fault, but something to keep in mind). All of this, and they charge $40 a month for a membership. I signed up for a membership because it’s the only gym near my house, but I’d almost rather make a longer drive than go to this gym anymore. Genuinely dissatisfied and will probably be canceling my membership cleanliness gets worse.

UPDATE: All of the above is still true ~ I’m just adding pictures to show that I’m not exaggerating on the cleanliness. I ended up keeping my membership for another month because the location is convenient for me for right now. If the gym was at least clean, it wouldn’t be terrible.

BEWARE!! DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM! I was a "non-contract" member and cancelled after not using this gym for about 6 months. The equipment is OLD, torn and many machines just are not up to what I needed.

I cancelled and was NOT TOLD it was a 60 DAYS notice! Well, that is a contract to me. I walked in to cancel. Brent the manager has absolutely no personality and just handed me a one page paper that was an old Xerox to sign. I signed and handed in my key fob.

AT NO TIME DID HE SAY YOU MAY WANT TO KEEP THAT FOR THE NEXT 60 DAYS BECAUSE YOU HAVE CHARGES COMING. Not at all! I have a verbatum memory!!! I don't forget these things.

When I called to dispute the continued charges, I was met with animosity from Brent saying that is what you signed. And that he hates that people "like me" call screaming when they get charges. He says he explained, but again, if he did, why would I be upset?? He did not explain a 60 day cancellation, with is totally OBSURD!

I have told my daughter and all friends to cancel this membership and go to FLORIDA BARBELL instead which is also 24/7 and GREAT OWNERS! Ask for Mike! They will actually appreciate you as a member of their gym.

Cheap owner who is never there. I’ve been coming here for 3 years but only because there is no alternative near my house. If a Planet opens in the area, this place is done. The air conditioner has been broken for weeks now and there are no signs up or anything telling people when it will be fixed. I don't recommend this gym at all.. The one who runs this place thinks he can blame a person for how nasty and neglected the bathrooms are.. I took a shower and was accused of "making a mess" the only hook in the bathroom to hang a towel was on the back on the door which u have to walk 10 feet or more to get to so I am sure that the only mess I left was a water mess..going from shower to door dripping.. the shower curtain had alot of mold on the backing and the smell alone could give u some sort of disease. very nasty place.. I can only imagaine how many germs live there to be carried home by so many ppl.also the soap could use a little less water and more soap in the dispenser. 😉 No worries of me ever returning to this germ infested place. I have been a longtime Anytime Fitness member but hadn’t used my gym membership for several years due to lots of work travel. Well, last week, I went into my “home” location and was really impressed by the improvements that have been made since the last time I had been there. Brent, the General Manager, was especially helpful on reorienting me to all the new amenities and equipment. Additionally, he spent nearly an hour with me to understand my fitness goals and share his professional insights on how I might best achieve those. I’m so happy to be back and highly recommend this location to those looking for a gym close by to home that is well maintained and staffed with a terrific manager!

I came to Florida very early January and went to purchase and talk to Brent about a membership. He was providing me with all this information but he seemed very tired, he had informed me he had just got back from out of state and was sleep deprived, so I purchased the day pass and that was it.
I came back to talk to Brent again and I started talking about getting a membership again because he was so informational the first time. He was much more energetic and enthused his gym.
I was having troubles gaining muscle and reaching my overall goals and he spent an hour with me sharing information and techniques and a month later I'm experiencing the results I was looking for.

I do not recommend this gym AT ALL. The staff here (like other reviews have stated) are RUDE. They have no sense of customer service and who have a bad attitude! Don't waste your money at this gym. They will try and charge you for any little thing they can. The owner wanted to charge my husband for a $10 clip that broke from the punching bag he had used. When this was brought to my husband's attention per the general manger, my husband questioned what the monthly fees and yearly dues go to if customers are expected to pay for the upkeep of the gym equipment. Since this was not the first display of terrible customer service and business etiquette we experienced there, we decided to quit that day. The general manager got so mad he punched the wall! On top of the bad customer service, EXPECT to pay more for this location compared to other anytime fitness locations because it is considered an "elite" gym, HAH Besides being much much smaller, there was nothing elite about this location.

If you are in need of a gym in the area, check out zone fitness. They have better prices and a MUCH more friendlier staff and a much better lay out plus their gym offers classes and a warm and friendly face to greet you at the door when you come in (you know, basic customer service skills).

These people are Thieves and Liars! When you sign up they say you can cancel at any time. But when you want to cancel, they charge you an extra two months. My son went off to college and didn't use the facilities for a whole year, and they took my payment every month. Then, when I wanted to cancel, they added two more months! Stay away from this place. They talk about family friendly....Hardly!

I have been a member of this facility for about 3 years now and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Management is great, trainers are very helpful, and facility is very clean.

Unfortunately, we are having to leave this facility, because of a relocation. With that being said, we have been members for 3 years and its the best it's ever been. The gym is clean and well stocked with great machines and the atmosphere is nice and laid back.

Brent has been extremely kind and helpful and is a huge asset to this location! All in all, I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to join or for visitors who need a great place to workout temporarily.

About a month ago I brought a safety issue up with the owner Cody Mannix regarding certain machine not being bolted down properly (at all). He said that he was going to take care of it soon, and I was happy to leave it at that.

Earlier this week I once again brought to the attention of one of his employees, that one machine in particular would lift up off the ground while in use, and pose a significant safety issue for members. This employee said that this Saturday they had plans on bolting down all the machines, and I was happy to hear that.

Today I saw Cody at the gym and I thanked him for making sure we all stayed safe by bolting down the machines. Strangely enough Cody seem perturbed that I even brought this up to his attention and said that he had no plans on bolting down anything Saturday.

Fortunately the employee that told me that there where plans to increase member safety by bolting down machines was present, and I was able to understand that the employee simply lied.

For members reading this, you might understand what I mean when I say Cody has a temper issue. When asked again why the machines weren't bolted down as the manufacturer directs, Cody became very threatening and asked me to leave his office. I did, and proceeded to call corporate anytime fitness in hopes that they could talk to him.

You have to understand, the gym itself has great potential and is nearby--I enjoyed the equipment but not at risk to personal injury.

Corporate seemed very sympathetic to the issue and said they would be contacting him shortly.

As I went back into the office to let Cody know, and apologize for having to take it so far, Cody became very angry and threatening and said that he personally does not like me and has the authority to have me not work out there any more. At this point I had to pull out my camera to document just what I was seeing--never before have I seen a business owner be so nasty. He did notice this though, and his tone changed completely, even saying hi to the camera and trying to calm down as fast as possible.

The in unprofessionalism of this franchise is incredible, and very unfortunate. I happened to see the good in Cody, and understand hat some of the hormones he uses can alter his personality at times. Regardless, if he has desires to be a business owner, he should prioritize member safety over everything, and should be able to look past personal, ego, or whatever sort of issue he has with anyone and see things for what they are.

I do not recommend this anytime fitness to anyone who values their safety, in addition to Cody's temper, until they can bolt down their machines the entire place is a giant liability.

I just moved to the area not to long ago and I after reading the reviews about this place from last year and beyond I was scared. But the newer reviews were positive so I walked in to see what Anytime had to offer...

I was blown away! As a recent graduate of USF (who just updated their entire 2 story gym) I was pleasantly surprised to see most of the same equipment that I was using before. And they even have new equipment that USF didn't offer. A membership will cost between $30-40 per month depending on whether you sign up with contact or month to month which I think is great. Also if you travel anywhere you can use any of the other locations for free. This will be a life saver when I start clinical rotations.

The owners really care about this gym and it shows with all of the new equipment and remodeling that they have been doing. Do not be discouraged by the old reviews.

The employees that I have encountered here are all helpful and nice. The gym is a good size and have a bunch of equipment and dumbbells go up to 120lbs I believe. Everyone who works out here seem nice.
The only issues with the gym I have is that the cardio is all facing towards the machines/weights, which is a bit odd. Also, they don't have a real cable tower, it's just a "V" shaped tower that gets caught up in the weights a bunch, if you pull the cables far. This gym is a great gym for leg day with a free hack squat, squat rack (people really should really stop curling in it), Smith Machine, plus more machines to use. The fact that it's open 24/7 is the best part, I get my two-a-days in, easily. They also have a speed bag and large punching bag.

They are a rip off. 4 times more expensive than the place across the street.
I did the month to month plan so that I wasn't bound by a contract, but when
went to cancel my membership I had to pay for the next three months in
advance. "60 day notice required" on top of your last month. They are
SHYSTERS. Don't even bother if you are thinking about it. There are a dozen
other gyms out there that are good.

every time I go there the door is locked and there is no 1 working... I can't even get in the place to see if I want to join.... tried to phone got voice mail.... heading to lifestyles now
