Went to this gym for the first time yesterday. I usually workout in the one in Sarasota on weekends but wanted to throw in a few workouts during the week.
What a difference.
Upkeep seems to be a little lacking. Lots of rust on machines and machines weren't even - my poor left side got a much better workout than my right. Stationary bike felt like it would fall apart anything over 4.

I've been to a lot of anytime fitness locations and this one is one of the worst. While there is a decent amount of equipment for an anytime, some of it needs some serious attention. Many of the machines have torn seats or missing/completely worn out grips. The equipment is placed poorly making it difficult to get around. Some treadmills are so worn there are literal grooves under the matt you can feel as you run. On top of that they had guys come in to swap equipment come in at poor time getting in the way of multiple customers. Also, paper towel dispensers to wipe down equipment are often empty and I was able to save hundreds by signing up at a different location.

I had and appointment for a walk through this morning for the free 7 day trial. The gym looked fine, but when I asked to sign up for the free 7 day trial the guy said he charges $25 for the key fob. I thought the key fob was just a card. That's sad you advertise something for free then have the individual come all the way there to tell them it's $25. ☹️

I have loved Anytime Fitness for years and for the last year have seen it go downhill with the restrooms ,floors in the room we have class are extremely dirty ,& the machines are old and lots are broken or ready to break .

I take personal training and classes plus SheHulks from Ilda and she is the most amazing, knowledgable trainer l've ever had! She is such an asset to Anytime Fitness! Ilda knows her stuff and knows how to make an extremely difficult workout be exciting and fun! She is extremely uplifting and encouraging, and welcomes everyone to her classes. I have never learned or been part of a group like this before, with such a great leader.. I've never been in such good shape, and it's thanks to her and her heart and disposition that shines bright every single day..
Without ILDA, I wouldn't be there., She is such an inspiration to us all.
I give the gym a 1 star but ILDA a 5 star !

Let me start with saying that I love this gym, because it’s never too crowded to go for a workout! But the state the the machines and accessories needs to be upgraded! Most cables machines are a mess and need new cables, if cables are not broken they would have a side longer than the other. I always feel I’m doing my workout pushing one side more than the other. Handles are ugly and old, tricep rope cable looks like it has more than 20 years of beat ups. Overall it could be great to update some machines most feel out of balance.

The facility and staff are great and very helpful. The Big Bend location is the cleanest gym I have ever been. It has the machines that I need to do my best workouts. I love that I can go anytime 24/7.

The machines are not cleaned and are always breaking. Not enough fans. There is a dirt everywhere. There's cold bath and sauna but it's only available when the owner is there which is only for 2 to 3 hrs. Early morning people can not use it.

I am very impressed with the variety of all the different exercise equipment. My trainer James is awesome. This is completely new to me and he takes the time to help me understand each step of the process. I really appreciate his personal approach to helping me attain my fitness goals. I also like being able to work out at whatever time best suits my schedule. I highly recommend Anytime Fitness.

Don't fall for the giant signs advertising "Cold Plunge!" and "Sauna!" They are pretty much just for the owner to use. As, not only are they an additional $20 per month, but you can only access them when an employee is there. And, I have been to this gym 7 times in the past 2 weeks, and only seen an employee there once. And he was just working out, then left shortly after I arrived (this was middle of a week day). I was there for about 2 hours. He did not return while I was there. So had I paid the extra $$, I still would not have been able to access the sauna and cold plunge.

The gym itself is not terrible. There is a lot of modern machines and equipment. However, the upkeep on them is very poor. The incline and decline benches all slant to one side or the other. There is a 2x cable machine that is all screwed up. And with the exception of the treadmills, there is only one of everything. So often times you can't use what you are wanting to.

If you are looking to workout in the middle of the night, this may be your only and therefore best option. But if you want to work out during normal hours, or use a sauna/cold plunge, I would recommend going somewhere else.

Gym is in good condition and I have never felt scared going in at night, but it is impossible to get a hold of staff. I’ve been trying to get in contact with them for two months to ask about my membership. I’ve gone in on numerous occasions when it said they should have been staffed, but there was never anyone there. I have called, left voicemails, no answer. I have even tried emailing them through the Anytime Fitness website, still no response.

I have been trying to cancel 3 memberships "family" . To avoid heavy fees I decided to keep the plan and let it expire after 12 months like the owner told me it would on multiple occasions. The membership did not expire and they are still taking money out of my account. I've called many times and left voice messages. No one has returned a single call. I stopped by the club several times and no one is there. This is becoming a nightmare.

I don't usually get to come to all classes but when you come to this fitness room, you leave satisfied, rewarded, ready to face your day, motivated and most of all accomplished. I do especially when I attend Ilda's sessions. She is usually on fire. They are classes such as zumba, core training, tabata and many more you can choose from. There is personal training if needed. The gym is very clean and well kept.

I called to find out what their covid 19 safety protocol was..I asked if masks were required and the girl eagerly responded;" No masks needed." It pains me to write this review because I love this little gym and have been going for years but the place has really gone down the drain. It's not clean, the machines are all very much outdated and on the verge of a complete breakdown. The ellipticals all squeak and none of the TV sets work on the treadmills. There is a thick layer of dust around the windows, wires hanging and a window cover that's been pulled down stuffed behind the treadmills that have been there for months. The bathrooms are dirty, and often out of toilet paper. And lastly, the place stinks, smells like a mix between vinegar and mold. The "new" owners did a good job at first but that only lasted a very short time. I really wish they would get it together otherwise this is one member who will be canceling their membership and pay less than half the cost across the street.

I am an avid patron but I really wish they could maintain their cardiac equipments. It's so disheartening to see pieces broken and machines not oil properly to prevent member's injuries. Definitely a great gym now with the new owners. The gym is always clean, all the equipment works and you never have to fight for additional equipment. They have a small room for stretching and bag workouts. The trainers Nery and Jen are always very helpful and polite. I was never a big gym person and always felt like I was not getting the best workouts. They have helped me to understand what each workout strengthens and how to properly die the exercise. I would highly recommend this gym and the staff.

The new owners, Gary Cucchi and Daniel Peterson have done a great job of turning the facility around. Daniel is my personal trainer and has an exceptional work ethic and understanding of your personal goals and needs as an individual. Wow! The new ownership of this facility is fantastic. Talk about a 180 degree turn around! The owners are seasoned trainers who have worked training high school, collegiate, and pro athletes along with folks who have weight loss or activity goals. Always dirty! It’s Saturday morning and the trash bins are all over flowing and there’s no cleaning solution in the spray bottles. They should have been staffed until 7 pm last night! There’s no way this was all emptied that fast.
They’re always out of soap and toilet paper in the restrooms.

The quality of this gym has decreased so badly over the last 4-6 weeks that I am joining another gym. The restroom/shower rooms are disgusting. One clump of hair (and other things...) has been in a shower for 3 weeks. The sinks and toilets appear to not have been cleaned in weeks. Trash cans are overflowing. The paper towel dispensers and the spray bottles for the disinfectant are usually empty. I have been there during staffed hours three times, there is NEVER anyone there. The phone # for the location has a voice mail which is "full" and the email address is invalid.
Today I saw the attached sign posted on the manager's door in the club. I don't know what happened, but the condition of this gym is inexcusable.

We moved from St. Pete to Riverview and I thought this gym would be exactly as other anytime fitness around Pinellas County. But I was wrong. Went there for the firsrt time and I was very disappointed. This place is so small and less equipments. It seems like the owner of this gym is on a budget. Afraid to spend money that way he/she could save some $$$s! Compare this place and the Anytime fitness on 49th St. and 38th Ave.,Pinellas Park. It is way more better than this place in Riverview. I was a member for a while, but after the experienced, I had to cancel my membership the next day and find some other place to go. All I can say is, that this place is not worth of the money you paid for.

New to the area and kind of a gym rat. Was really itching to get back into a gym routine. We just came from a Marine Corps base with an incredible gym so I wanted to find just the right spot. I left a detailed message requesting more info. No response. Stopped in and received information from someone who seemed indifferent about me joining.

Scheduled a 7-day trial online but I must have accidentally scheduled it for the Boyette location. Came and in and realized my mistake and asked if I could just do the trial there since it was closer to our house. (called other location as well so they didn't think I left them hanging). I was told I could only try out the gym for 1 day. I explained I would really like to try it out for a week since a 12 or 16 month contract is quite the commitment. Manager wouldn't budge and said the asterisk online excluded their location. I stood there in front of him and double checked and online it DID allow you to select their location for a 7-day trial.

I left and won't ever go back.

This gym is extremely unconcerned about the customers. The staff does nothing but sit in the office on the computer. The weights and benches are constantly out of place. Recently, they just shut the whole facility down for four days (without any notice to the customers) due to new flooring being installed. The issue is not even the fact that it’s closed but NO NOTICE was given AT ALL!!! Flooring doesn’t just show up one day out of the blue so there could’ve been some notice so customers knew this was coming and we don’t just drive up to a sign on the door directing us to another facility. When Crunch opens this gym is going to lose tons of business...and rightfully so!

This gym is average at best. It is relatively clean which is great but this gym doesn't use its space very well compared to the other ones that's I've seen. The atmosphere is bland, staff never really takes initiative to acknowledge you and the equipment is average to below average compared to other gyms. If you just want a quick workout it gets the job done but you get the sense that this gym could be a lot better.

I really wish another gym would open I this area. This gym is small, and the atmosphere is unpleasant. Group fitness leaves their door open as they blast their music the entire time. If they must condemn us to listen to their music play (over the club's music), can I at least hear something in English?! The staff doesn't say hi, the GM is never there, and it's very clicky. The floor in the freeweight section has been bubbled up and damaged for over a year. Me and many others have complained of the tripping hazard but management doesn't seem to care.

This place is organized and clean. Their flow is laid out perfectly & their staff is friendly every time I go in. And to the comment where it says Mexican music is being played... first of all, it’s Latin music that comes from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil, etc. Believe me, if they played Mexican music in their I would be dancing along with them in their Zumba class but, I don’t have the smooth movement for salsa or cumbia dancing. Visited after getting an email confirmation for a 7 day pass. They tell me when I show up that it’s only a 1 day pass, that the 7 day version is for corporate customers only. Whatever. The space itself is small, maybe a step or two higher than an apartment complex gym. No flat bench, no real squat rack. Very small place and crazy pricey. They are still asking for a 12 or 18 months agreement for more than $30 a month! Not even Sprint does contracts anymore... where have you guys been! You better off workout in your living room instead that come to this closet.

Great for casuals or those new to fitness. However it only has one barbell and one smith machine, and the dumbbells stay in the light side.

Would be a great fit as long as youre not into bodybuilding or powerlifting.

Most unhelpful manager in the seven states worth of clubs I've worked out at.

Called the club north of this one and they took care of me on the spot. Go there and be helped.

This tool tried to sell an existing member a $5 a day pass instead of giving me a temp pass. Phone call to my home club took 1 min at the other club.

It is obvious that all what this guys are up for is your money. Big bend facility First of all I have never heard of that if you are on a month to month deal you are supposed to give them a 60 day notice and pay a small fee to break the contract. What contract? It is month to month Doesn't make sense. You pay one month you use the facility whether, you use it for the whole month or not you are done no questions ask no small fee no nothing done that's it. That's why it's called month to month. I am new in the area from Nevada didn't know any better didn't know about other gyms around and signed16 month contract. Before I signed they told me that if I wanted to break the contract I was supposed to give them a 60 day notice and pay a small fee. Now 3 weeks later I found a way better gym no contracts. No catches and month to month if you like. well I went to talk to them guys at any time fitness wow I don't even think they know what they are talking about. they told me that Supposibly I can't break the contract that now I have to pay for the 16 months whether I use their facility or not. I never like to sign any kind of contract and with this crap just keeps getting worse and with people like this guys don't think I will be singing any contracts any time soon one thing is for sure I would never walk into this gym ever again.

It is unfortunate that I have to write this poor review. My husband and I were patrons of this gym for a year and a half. We are both upstanding citizens and served as very positive role models/patrons at this location. In fact, we were at this location 5 days a week on average and many people knew us as the "cute couple" that works out together.

The management does not know how to handle negative situations and would rather "cover up" a situation than deal with it. To summarize, I had trained with their head trainer for about 4 months. My husband and I spent a large amount of money for this service. Although this trainer has a great amount of knowledge about training, he lacks understanding of professional ethics and relationship-building skills. I had learned from other gym patrons that this trainer was saying very negative things about me and my husband. To name a couple: we were "cheap," even though we make a nice combined salary and have student loans and other priorities; and that it's "stupid" we train together and are making "no progress," although we are both in great shape. It seems that this negative talk stemmed from him being upset that we stopped training with him and that we are happy with setting and reaching our own personal goals. During the 4 months I trained with this trainer, he told me very personal things about other members (about drug addictions, eating disorders, etc., and made negative comments about women's bodies). In one instance, he told me a member had an "old lady butt." As a woman, I found this incredibly offensive. My husband and I were immediately concerned. We reported this behavior to the gym management and apparently they disciplined the trainer.

After the gym became aware of the trainer's negative comments about my family, they spoke to him. We met, and of course the trainer denied everything. It was difficult for me to believe he never said these things, as I've heard him gossip so much throughout my time training with him. We were supposed to have a meeting to discuss the situation this week, but unfortunately, the gym cancelled the meeting and said it needed to be handled "in house." This seemed to be a way to brush the issues under the rug....again.

My husband and I are now members of a new local gym, and it's a much more comfortable, respectful environment where our business (and privacy) is a priority. Anytime Fitness Big Bend is a nice facility, but I feel it is my right as a consumer to make patrons of this location aware of an unprofessional trainer and management team. I am still sad I had to leave, as I loved many of the gym-goers, equipment, and classes, but I had to do what's best for myself and my husband.

I want to say that I travel a lot of states and areas with my job and this by far was the best that I have been to. Well rounded and talented staff as well as the atmosphere is fantastic! If I was ever in this area again this will be the only one I go to. Thank you for giving me the privilege to be part of this!
