The new owner has done excellent work in creating a better experience for its members. Some of the homeless concerns have been addressed as well as the independent contractors within the facility. There is one issue that surprisingly has not changed and I believe it is simply because this issue has not been brought to the new owner’s attention. The number of Tierra Verde and Bayway Isles potential members that have chosen not to join this location because of the inability of staff to regulate a certain individual’s obnoxious commentaries is absurd. The individual is a large man with tattoos and a tie-on head covering for hair. From 4:30-6pm MON-FRI without fail, every thirty seconds, you will hear him YELL "Woooohoooo Yeah Buddy!" I have spoken with a number of members who feel exactly as I do and I am writing on behalf of them. Others that have simply cancelled their memberships in the past year, and chosen to drive the extra distance to the YMCA simply because of this individual and the atmosphere he promotes. Any other gym I have been to in the past has regulated this kind of behavior. I am a reasonable person and understand the need to emit certain sounds during strenuous activity , but there is absolutely no reason you should be inconveniencing your members during peak hours in an effort to allow one single member the ability to make constant proclamations at the expense of everyone else's need for a respectful workout environment. I will amend this post if the changes can be addressed and recommend the gym to many of those who have left over the years. I am fed up and felt it was necessary for the new owner to have some sort of notice of these events.

I really enjoy this gym, always a fan of steel plates. However there is the issue with the individual sleeping in the power rack that is not being addressed. At times he is loud with multiple electronic devices in use, this gets disruptive and is not well accepted by fellow members. A few times the locker room was found in a chaotic state with what appeared to be his laundry hung out to dry. I've been an Anytime Fitness member since 2014 and totally love this location, I hope this issue can be resolved soon. Thank you.

One of the best Anytime Fitness is that I’ve worked out at. Compared to mine at Apollo Beach Florida. This one has a terminus amount of equipment and space to work out in. I SUPER appreciate Dan, the club manager at this gym. From the start of my membership, I have experienced Dan as courteous, attentive, kind, generous, & helpful. He holds down the fort well at this center. I don't have a common name, & I was surprised/impressed that he remembered my name early on when I made a request. Dan is also super efficient, tracks things well, and can hold awareness of multiple things at once, which is a rare skill. It makes sense to me that he's the manager, & I think Anytime Fitness is lucky to have someone like him leading. Grateful.

Really difficult to schedule a time to do a tour. Staffed hours are inconvenient for someone working a normal 9-5 and the staff apparently don't even stay for the entire scheduled hours on Saturdays. Supposed to be 9-1, but I got there at 12:15 and there was no staff.

I have been a member for 5 years and have always loved working out at this gym. Yes, it's dirty. And moldy. Surprised it hasn't been shut down. But the people are great and the owner is nice. The new owner has now taken out all the sanitation wipe dispensers. People were using them and wiping down the machines which showed respect for the gym. Now they've been replaced with one paper towel dispenser and one spray bottle...for the whole gym! So beware of dirty machines and germs. Also it would help if they had a cleaning crew in there occasionally. Just saying.

Disappointed in the new ownership already! Recently changed from the wipes to paper towels and spray, since the change I have noticed less and less people cleaning the equipment. I realize the cost difference between the two products in minimal but if the equipment isn't being cleaned after each use, that will turn customers away very quickly.

Also heard Kneads by Kat is going away, BIG MISTAKE. I don't think they realize how many people she brings in the facility. I know my husband has benefited from her services. Kat along with Dan, Jen and Trent are what keeps people coming back, it brought be back after leaving Anytime for 2 years.

Wonder what will happen when the new gym opens up around the corner, if I was the new ownership I would be doing what I could to keep the clientele I currently have and work to get more, not pushing people away.

I joined this gym because of the massage therapist Kat. I love to Just found d out that the “large corporation” that bought them is getting rid of her. What a mistake!
They bought it in October and nothing is different .

I have been a member of Anytime Fitness now for over 7 years. The facility was decent and convenient for me due to its location. With the recent change of management, I am severely disappointed with the changes, especially with the lose of Kneads by Kat (the in-house massage therapist), between her knowledge and Dan's guidance I am now in the best shape I ever been. The second issue is the change of individual cleaning wipes. When you replaced the wipes with paper towels and spray bottles I have noticed less and less people cleaning the equipment after its use...which is disgusting.

Dirtiest one in the southern United States I’ve been to. I travel a lot and have this membership for The convenience of being open 24 hours I have traveled in all of the southern United States and this is the dirtiest one I’ve been to. I have even spent two years in a federal prison in Memphis and we kept the Showers cleaner then inside of this gym. As soon as you open the door it smells like stale piss. Blood on the shower curtain and old hair on the floor. Toilets are full of yellow piss and the mold is growing in the corners of showers.
I like to shower at the gym after a workout again like I said I travel for work and used a lot of places in the south and have an anytime membership for the Convenience of time and travel nothing wrong with any other location at all except this one they are usually very very clean

Today, Monday October 7 I called the gym and spoke with someone around 330 and ask can I come up and make a payment they said that they will be at the gym I asked how long will someone be there? He said 7 PM I than ask are you sure he the ensured me that he he was to leave he would call me to let me know so I’m guessing they have caller ID then I literally show up at the gym between 4 and 4:30 and the person I spoke with and all staff is gone said they door says staff are there until 7pm but I literally drove from Clearwater to try to come to the gym because this is my home gym and they literally left. A customer who was working out came and left me in and told the dude just left….. what the point of saying someone will be there until 7 and they are not.I don’t recommend his gym to nobody. I hate this gym this is why I wanted to cancel the membership but due to contract I cant get rid of it I literally HATE THIS GYM PASADENA IS BETTER now at 5:38 Daniel calls me back and say he’s not coming to the gym he’s canceling out membership who care. If this is your customer service is then you need to take an ethics class buddy. You are so unprofessional and then want to lie and say someone was in a car accident. Don’t lie on people to get out of something’s because maybe the next’s accident won’t be good God don’t like ugly!!!!!!! Just finish signing up with amp fitness the have better selection of equipment and recovery equipment way better

This week, after the power went out during Helene I came back to find almost every metal surface covered in rust. I moved and was hopeful for this gym to help me get back into shape since it's the only close gym...but I'm extremely disappointed. As someone who struggles with social anxiety, I do not want my machines making squeaking noises bringing attention to me. I like using the elliptical..its easier on my body, but There's only about 5 ellipticals, some are usually down and they all making noises because theyre old...Please get new equipment or use some wd 40..idk.. It's hard enough to even make myself go to the gym. Then to have to battle with this mentally makes me give up.

Absolutely a great gym. I saw a recent review saying this place doesn’t like black people and decided to respond. Absolutely not the case. Some of the most frequent guys i see in here are black like me. The owner is absolutely awesome. Hes there practically daily and is easy to talk to. Dan, the front desk guy, is also there alot and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to lifting. Its got more equipment than most other anytime fitness’s ive been to. I travel alot for work so ive been to my fair share. If youre into lifting more seriously this definitely is the place. Theres also a more casual crowd so its not full of bodybuilders if that thing scares you.

I wish I'd never signed up at this location. I was only in the area temporarily summer of 2022 and had figured since Anytime is a nationwide chain I could easily sign up here and then use my membership at other locations when I moved away. I regret EVER doing that because of the nightmare that has ensued ever since.

Not only was this gym just GROSS and outdated, but I have never been able to get ahold of anyone when I needed help. You can never get anyone to answer the phone, they never call you back if you leave a message. My monthly rate skyrocketed from $32.09 to $48.13 out of nowhere and of course I cannot get ahold of anyone to ask why or get it resolved. Corporate stated they can't even help me either, stating I need to call the location directly.

While I was still in St Pete I had to get my credit card replaced due to fraud and the South St Pete Anytime just completely deactivated my fob without notifying me of the reason why (needing an updated credit card, obviously) and like i've mentioned, I could not get ahold of anyone to get it resolved over the phone. I essentially could not access the gym for approx 2 weeks because every time I showed up during supposed "staffed" hours, no one was even there. I finally managed to catch a trainer one day and THEY apologize profusely and updated my billing info with my new CC. But God forbid the owners answer their phone when paying members are trying to resolve issues and PAY.

I finally started going to a different location now that I have settled down (Yorkville, IL) and even THEY cant get ahold of anyone at South St Pete to resolve my ongoing billing issues.

Save your money and your time and go sign up at either Beach Bods, Amped or Crunch. You don't want to workout in the sauna that is this gym anyways, air conditioning never seemed to be working.

Cons:
-Dumbell racks are grotesque. Covered in dirt, grime and hair. Been that way for a year. I asked staff twice about it but nothing came of it (see pictures below)
- bathroom always smells like urine
- missing shower curtains and broken shower hooks
- Kids and teenagers workout here every evening (though in their defense they are well behaved), wouldnt be so bad, but it gets busy here at the time.
Pros:
- Well laid out facility
- they seem to have plenty classes and trainers (though ive never tried any)
Overall:
If it wasnt for how close this location is, id go elsewhere. Theres potential here if they can be bothered to address the issues above

Most of the equipment still speaks and buttons are worn off, there’s pins missing from the weights. Still smells terrible. The lockers are still rusty inside. It’s clear that the owner is squeezing every cent he can out of this business. From nonexistent staff members to peeling rubber matting on the walls you’ll be able to see where the care lies in this establishment.
If you ever have the pleasure of meeting the owner be prepared to get talked down to. Your key will be deactivated at his convenience so try your best to leave an impression. Because this isn’t a gym for the people, it’s a moneybag for the owner.

There was even hesitancy offering even a day pass. Not good if you want repeat customers.

This place is smaller and has limited equipment.

There are three showers. One stall had NO shower curtain.

So I pay cash for one year only. After the year was up, they called saying my credit card was invalid. I never gave them a credit card. Now I have a $300 mark on my credit report.

Its a clean gym. It doesn't smell like a sweaty bag. The dumbells and free weights are fantastic. The cable equipment is a bit aged. It gets the job done though. I reccomend this gym to the average old school meat head

Walked in for a tour and our guide basically put us in the center of the gym and directed us to different aspects within. Then he shamed my previous gym and other options without ever asking what I was seeking. It was the worst experience I've ever had during a gym tour.

"Tanning" on the exterior wall, but they haven't had tanning beds in over a year and no plans on getting them back. 5 day free trial. If you're a member & you bring a friend it's $10 for a single workout. If you join, you can't use other Anytimes for the first month. Monthly memberships are more expensive than other 24 hr gyms. It wasn't very crowded on Monday ~6pm, which was a plus. They have good fans and ventilation, but no paper towels anywhere (old slow dryers in bathrooms, can't wipe your sweat in the gym. I know, I should bring my own towel).

I used to come here a lot, I really like the weight variety they have and the gym is nice and spacious and the staff is always professional. There is a wide variety of equipment too.

I have to be honest about my review though because over the time I have been coming to this gym my view of it has changed. Mainly because the equipment is poorly maintained. The cardio machines are often out of service completely with no signs to warn you, or missing buttons, handles, cup holders or they’re loud and squeaky because their broken and need general maintenance, etc. you often have to change cardio machines 2-3 times to find one that works or doesn’t make some hideous noise while you use it, it’s a bit frustrating.

Im home for the summer and needed a gym to go to near my house. This place is perfect! It is open 24/7, just tap your key fob, and they have a huge variety of machines and everything you could need. They also have showers and vending machines if needed. Amazing gym overall and always kept clean and staff is great.

This is one of the best Anytime Fitness center is Saint Pete. The facility is clean and staff is very friendly.
Trent is my personal trainer I think he is one of the best in the business. Very experienced and knowledgeable when you come to fitness. He set me up on a fitness program on what I wanted to accomplish and now I’m in better shape I’ve ever been in and we’re just getting started. The only thing is I can only give him five stars when he deserves 10.

I didn't know what to expect getting a trainer for the first time but let me say Holly the trainer exceeded any expectations I had! She started me on a fitness journey and provided me with all the training, and work outs to achieve my goals. Every time pushing me a little further, I was so astounded by my results. Feeling and looking stronger than ever. Whether you are just starting, very experienced or somewhere in the middle Holly has a training program for you.

This is a great gym! First off, it’s a HUGE Anytime Fitness so it’s open 24 / 7. This particular gym has some awesome old school equipment that is great for lifting. They also have ellipticals, stair steppers, concept 2 rower, TRX bands and more. They have plenty of squat racks (including smith machines) as well as plenty of leg machines… simply put, this is a WONDERFUL gym!

This anytime is only good for men! If you’re a women, the men will 100% bother you while working out here. They don’t respect your space and are very inconsiderate. They’re not even discrete about staring or making you uncomfortable.

I experienced an issue with my membership charges and Dan took care of it for me very quickly. Awesome customer service and many thanks to you Dan! The gym has everything you need, no matter your goals. Super nice equipment, tons of cardio, machines, and free weights with the added bonus of new power racks. I highly recommend!

If you live in the area, this is THE Anytime Fitness to go to. It's about three times larger than any location I've visited (6 or 7) which translates to more equipment, less/no waiting, and just an overall better atmosphere to exercise in. By comparison, others feel dark and claustrophobic. My only complaint is sometimes they fall behind with the upkeep in the locker room, although, it's the only location I've been to that actually has a locker room.
