I can’t say enough good things about Aqua Journeys Swim School! From the moment we enrolled, the customer service has been outstanding—friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in my child’s progress. My family and I came down on vacation and desperately wanted to get my daughter comfortable and confident swimming. Coach Katie and the rest of the staff are truly exceptional; they go above and beyond to ensure kids not only learn how to swim but also gain essential water safety and survival skills. The care and effort they put into every lesson really shows, and the results speak for themselves. My daughter was swimming confidently and safely in 4 days! I highly recommend Aqua Journey Swim School to any parent looking for quality swim education in a supportive and professional environment.

Aqua Journeys is second to none. We brought our 2 year old (who is a tough one) and 6 year old (who had a bad experience elsewhere and was very afraid) here. Coach Tara and Coach Jonny have been incredible with our two. After a couple of weeks, they each were able to connect with them and work with them in such a way that they not only have graduated from SFS, they LOVE the water and cannot wait to go back. I cannot believe how far we have come in just a couple of months. Our son has gone from being afraid of the water and only would go in swimmies to swimming across their big pool over summer break. The confidence and skill they have gained in such a short time is incredible and I will be forever thankful to Coach Tara, Coach Jonny and Aqua Journeys for teaching my kids water survival and swim skills to last a lifetime. THANK YOU AJS!!!

We are beyond happy to swap from the ymca to this. If a ptron won't understand why they only do 15min sessions it is their loss. This place worth every penny. My 3yrs old is like a seal underwater. After 3 weeks here. Also spent 3 weeks at ymca with literally no progress.

We LOVE this swim school. I’ve put my 4 kids through various classes and it has been amazing. I feel so much peace living around so much water knowing even my 1 year old will know how to respond if she falls in. My older kids can swim and my baby can roll into a calm rescue position back float. I highly recommend it!!

I am amazed by this place. I used to teach swimming lessons in my younger years, but you can never teach your own kids lol. After many glowing reviews of this place I signed my 3.5 year old son up for lessons with Ms Tara. I was skeptical at the 15 minute sessions and thought to myself theres no way this will work…. My son started the beginning of this week and was petrified of putting his face in the water, and sank like a cinder block when he would kick because he was so tense.
Today… our 4th session, he is now, quite literally, a fish. My flabbers are gasted at what less than an hour or accumulative session time this week has done for him.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful Ms Tara and the other instructors are and how wonderful they are with kids of all ages and swim level.
Worth every penny!! I cannot wait to see what he looks like at the end of 4-6 weeks!!

Shoutout to Ms Tara and Ms Kelly who got my kids from being horrified of water to not wanting to get out of the pool. Whenever I take my 2 year old to our community pool, people keep telling me how impressed they are that he swims independently. Thank you Aqua journeys, I’m beyond happy to have made the decision to enroll my kids in your school :)

This place did an absolutely incredible job with both our kids! We love Aqua Journeys swim school and every one of their instructors!! So grateful for them! We enjoy going to the pool and beach soo much more now that our kids can swim! Seriously there is not another school that teaches like this. This school is like no other! Many other schools like the YMCA do not compare to this type of training my kids can truly swim better then most adults!

Way overpriced. And if you cancel they will keep every penny. They will dunk your child over and over in the water while they scream stop and say that that’s completely normal. I told them to stop, it’s not normal and very uncomfortable to watch. I’m glad I stood my ground. Found a new school that plays games with them to get them used to getting their face wet. Such a more enjoyable experience. Avoid this school. They took $270 from me. Ridiculous
*UPDATE*
they changed their Facebook reviews after another customer called them out for not refunding him his money back after having to cancel cause his child was sick with RSV. BIG red flag. Money hungry business with horrible business ethic!! Shame on you, Carly (the owner)
Side note..did swim lessons at YMCA and wow what a difference. The ymca in ormond was a great experience and way cheaper with a beautiful outdoor pool

If you have a child over 6 months old and they don’t know how to swim, stop whatever you’re doing call Aqua Journeys. You live in Florida, your kid needs to learn to swim. Today. I regret not beginning sooner. We tried the YMCA mommy and me classes when my twins turned one, and they were a great bonding experience, but did not help at all with learning to swim. My twins have been enrolled here for two weeks and I can already see their confidence improving exponentially. They both start singing “swim lessons” on the car ride to the facility. This is from two two years olds who otherwise whine constantly. They LOVE it. Ms. Tara and Ms. Carly are wonderful with my littles. Everyone here is so nice. Naysayers are just need to put a pin in it. I see a couple of people squawking about the price. 6 weeks is the average time it takes for a kid to learn to swim. This equates to $900. What would you really pay to guarantee your kid won’t drown? People who miss lessons and squawk that they had to pay anyway, sorry, this is an appointment-based business with employees and overhead. Missed appointments are expensive to a business. Like-minded people will understand. Bottom line—this place is amazing.

Buyer Beware! They take the pool maintenance fee and then cancel classes! No one returns calls when they tell you they are going to! On May 3rd I was charged a $60 yearly pool maintenance fee for the mommy and me class. After that class I called to say we would be attending the next week. I was told all those classes had been canceled due to low enrollment. They said classes would resume June 14th. Then when I called again I was told July 5th. I called one final time requesting a refund and was told “she was so sorry, that classes might resume late august. She took my information and said the head receptionist would call me Monday.” That’s today July 10th and I haven’t received a call or refund. We got one class and they are trying to keep the yearly fee. Not fair and buyers should be warned!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everyone who works there is so kind and accommodating. The instructors are beyond amazing. Even going so far as to cheer on students that are not their own. My child became a completely different person in the water. His confidence has grown so much and the peace of mind that comes with knowing that he has the skills to save his own life if he were to fall into the water is invaluable. Aqua Journeys is worth every penny. Definitely recommend.

Lack of customer service. My kids have been going to this school for 7 months. We’ve been paying $450 per month. We missed one scheduled session (two 15 minutes) and asked to make it up if they have a cancellation. They allowed to make up one, but told us their policy does not allow to make up the other. Lack of customer service is always a bad business judgment. A good business needs to have some flexibility in their policies and customer appreciation, especially that this was the only time during the past 7 months that we’ve missed. It doesn’t cost them much to allow a make up during a cancellation because the coach is still in the pool. I have cancelled lessons for both kids because my policy is not to give business to a business that does not appreciate me as a customer.

I inquired concerning my grandson. He's two. The young lady quickly explained to me that the classes are Monday through Friday they're 10 minutes each class and it will last from 3 to 6 weeks at $150 per week. So the bottom line is your kid gets 50 minutes not even an hour of swimming lessons for $150. 10 minutes each visit $30 per class. These prices are insane. $30 for a 10 minute lesson. Some people are so greedy it's unbelievable. Not today Satan.

My daughter was so nervous and apprehensive about getting in the water without her floatie... I didn't even know where to begin with teaching her to swim. I'm so glad I called Aqua Journeys and even more grateful i made the investment in my daughter. The first few lessons she was stiff as a board, and no she did NOT want to go.. However, every single instructor and grown up she encountered continued to encourage & praise her.. now, all she wants to do is swim. This school was money well spent. If they didn't have their current attendance/payment policies in place they would not make any money and their schedules would be booked solid. It's understandable and it's a big commitment to make. It definitely helped me hold up my end of the bargain! & I'm so glad that I did because they definitely held up theirs!

I am very disappointed at how this place has treated me. Although couch moose was a great couch, I am very unpleased with how management handled make up classes. I had a death in the family that required me to travel and they refused to make up any classes for me because of the policy. I understand the policy states no make ups but in some situations such as death in the family should be considered separately.

My daughter started infant survival rescue when she was a year and a half. The swim instructors at Aqua Journeys Swim School are absolutely amazing. They are so kind, caring, patient, and loving towards all the kids. My daughter is 3 years old and is now learning the different strokes. At 3 almost 4 years old my daughter can do the back stroke. Absolutely amazing. My only regret is not putting her in there sooner. They treat you like your family. I am sooo thankful for all of them. The process is sometimes a little nerve-racking when they get dipped under the water but it’s only to teach them how to save themselves if they were to fall into water by themselves. Miss Aleesha was her instructor for most of the time she has been there and let me tell you my daughter gave her a run for her money lol but now she is a little fish. After she taught my daughter infant survival she started her swimming techniques like how to kick and how to start using her big arms. We stayed with her until we moved up to the next level with Miss Katie. She was also very patient with my daughter and was absolutely amazing with her. We then had to switch to afternoon due to my daughter starting school and she finished off learning how to use big arms and big kicks with Miss Nikki and Miss Emma. They were so wonderful with her. She is now in the next level up and is learning all the different stroke techniques with Coach moose. And he is so kind and gentle with her. All of the instructors are awesome. I would hands-down recommend aqua journeys. It could be the difference between your child being able to save themselves or the unfortunate.

Bad experience. Unless you can guarantee your child's health and attendance for weeks at a time, find a place with better policy.

My sons Physical Therapist recommended this for my 3 year old. We paid a $60 registration fee and two weeks upfront for a total of $300 and ended up receiving only 1hour worth of instruction in 15min increments. My son attended his first week, which he enjoyed, then ended up with an ear infection from swimming but they couldn't be bothered to reschedule, even when due to sickness. He missed his whole second week, at no fault of our own, non refundable, we just had to eat it. This may or may not be industry standard but working in the medical field myself this policy is not customer service. During the week he did attend he was sometimes seen late and dismissed early. When your dealing with a 15min class that's unacceptable and definitely not worth our 30min commute. The receptionist and teacher were very nice and my son enjoyed what he could but definingly not as charismatic as you would hope a toddlers instructor would be. All in all not worth the money, I feel like I donated $300...

My 6 year old daughter (now 7), started swim lessons back in October of 2020. She was TERRIFIED of water to the point when we went to pools she would only stick her feet in. At AJSS, she learned the basics of swimming with Coach Tara, advanced to Coach Ashley where she mastered her swim-float-swim (in less than a month), and then advanced even further to Coach Moose where she began learning stroke techniques! We had no idea when we first started, that she would advance so far, at the rate she did, and develop a passion for swimming. So much so, that after 7 months at AJSS we are headed to the swim team at the YMCA!! Thank you to the AMAZING staff at AJSS for you’re patience, kindness, and dedication. You are truly making a difference in the lives of others in an amazing way. Highly recommend!

I really cannot say enough positive things about this place, I started going to the mommy and me class when my son was around 4-5 months, it’s so great and a great intro to the water. At 11 months we started the ISR. We are just now finishing up the survival courses with Aleesha and it’s been incredible to watch my son learn from her every week. She is incredibly patient and so great with him. She has taught him a life saving skill and it’s amazing to watch. I would highly recommend using Aleesha at Aqua Journeys! I have known since the day my daughter could say water and crawl that she would enjoy being in and around the water, which made this mom know that swim survival lessons were a must! Aleesha is so patient and kind when it comes to understanding the needs of children who are being taught by her. She was extremely focused on my daughter while she was in the pool which made me very comfortable to know that she was being taught by the best. Not sure I can thank Aleesha enough for what she has done for our family through her lessons. Knowing that my daughter can safely survive if anything were to happen in the water, is a gift I will forever cherish. Thank you Aleesha and Aqua Journeys for all that you are and do for some many childern!

Aqua Journeys is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. A place where our newborn son could learn to float in the rare case that he were to fall into any body of water. As new parents you hear all the horror stories of things that can happen to your little one. After our son did his survival lessons at Aqua Journeys I felt at ease and so happy with our choice. He has been back since to keep up with his floating and is now even learning to swim all before turning 2! Aleesha is the best instructor could ask for. She has been patient and helpful to working with our son's little quirks and really has developed a special relationship with him. Can't wait to keep bringing him back there so he can keep learning more!

Aqua Journeys is the best! We brought our 13 month old son for survival swim lessons and Aleesha was our instructor. She was very patient and worked through a few "things" with which our son was struggling. He always wanted to have his legs up at his chest but she managed to get him to settle them down all while working on the basic survival skills. The peace of mind in knowing that he can float and roll to survive is amazing. We're forever grateful to have these skills and the relationship with Aqua Journeys. Some may be hesitant when they hear $80 a week for a 10 min long class per day (infant survival) Let me just start off by saying personally I was that parent. I live 20-25 min away and it takes me longer to get to the aqua journey then it does the class. Considering "other" local gyms that offer swim classes something in my gut as a mom said " if the difference meant paying for swim classes to insure he has the best possible chance of surviving god forbid he were to ever fall in a pool or in another body of water you simply cannot put a price on that. " My son started class as a 3 year old who had no perception or fear of the water. With the strong will of his instructor Heather who may I add was exactly the type of instructor he needed he now successfully can float in just a matter of 3 week. Heather greeted my son every day with a welcoming smile but was the stern, focused guidance he needed. Words cannot describe how it felt seeing my child being able to fall in the water , sink to the bottom and float to the top. Aqua Journey isn't just a swim school but a lifesaving guide. This is what the specialize in. Not only will my son continue to attend Aqua Journey but I will refer every person I know who has a child. I'm almost partial to say it should be mandatory for children to take this class. It's life saving. Thank you Aqua Journey!

In my opinion Aqua Journeys is the best place, hands down, to teach your child to swim and build confidence. Frankly I was skeptical because the lessons cost more than what I was used to paying and also shorter, 10-15 minutes long. Last year I spent many weeks/months mostly in private lessons at a public pool and at a private house and saw zero progress. I even enrolled them in some group lessons thinking they would try and mimic the kids that could swim better but nothing was working. Both my girls started at Aqua Journeys still terrified of putting their head in the water and very apprehensive altogether. After the first day my four year old was comfortable getting her head in. At the end of day two my three year old was fine as well. The progress happens so fast it is a little unbelievable to me and I say this as a 10 year lifeguard captain/instructor and former swimmer in a masters program. In 11 fifteen minute lessons my four year is sprinting across the pool, rolling to her back to float if needed. She just started week four and is doing some of the same stroke drills I did when I competitively swam in high school. My three year old swam most of the length of the pool today and the fear and uncertainty she harbored is now replaced with confidence and excitement to go swimming. These instructors really have a solid understanding of how to work with children and also know the building blocks of swimming. If you want your child to swim take them here. Just try one week, you will be amazed.
