Llegaron unos amigos míos y, como suelo hacer, les estaba explicando algunos ejercicios y entrenando en grupo con ellos. La manager Sherlyn Pomajambo se acercó y me dijo de manera grosera que no podía explicarles ni entrenar con ellos, alegando que solo sus entrenadores podían hacerlo.

Le expliqué que eran mis amistades y que entrenábamos juntos regularmente, pero se negó de manera descortés. Incluso cuando mencioné que otros grupos entrenaban juntos sin problema, continuó con su mala actitud. Finalmente, debido a su trato desagradable, decidí cancelar mi membresía junto con mis amigos en ese mismo instante.

Not being in the gym for a while I came to Athletica on radio Road hesitant and intimidated. Brett chris we’re at the front desk. They made me feel comfortable and welcome. They offered me some assistance in training, which I took them up on and trained with Chris. He was patient knowledgeable of my abilities and my strength. I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this place. I had a terrible experience with this gym. They charged me a $100 cancellation fee even though I followed all their rules and gave proper notice. When I asked why, they had no real explanation and were completely unhelpful and dismissive.

This feels like a money grab, not a professional business. There are plenty of gyms out there that treat people with respect and don’t sneak in surprise charges.

Save your time, money, and frustration. Avoid this place.

Athletica is one of the nicest gyms in Collier County. Gym floor and locker rooms are always clean. Selection of equipment (free weights and otherwise) is more than adequate; outside of some super niche stuff, they have all the machines you could want, and even at peak hours I'm able to get a lift in. Staff are great. Definitely would recommend Athletica all around. Their smoothies are fire too.

I came to Athletica on a recommendation of a friend, I was not disappointed! The gym is so clean and welcoming all of the staff was so kind and took the time to also welcome my daughter and show her the kids club. Have filed a complaint with the FL Attorney's General Office for the deceptive practices in canceling the gym membership. Spoke with a representative on 1/8/2025, who told me I was required to come in person to cancel. I explained that I have moved out of state and can't, so I would need to cancel the membership over the phone. After putting me on hold because it was against protocol, I was hurriedly promised a cancelation notice would be sent via email. It never was. I called repeatedly in the subsequent days because nothing was ever sent, but no one picked up the phone. I was then charged again on 1/14/25 despite canceling the membership but still had no proof of cancelation as promised.

When I called, the representative who finally picked up claimed that the notice was sent (it was not) then kept me on hold while he hurriedly backdated the cancel notice and emailed it to me with the wrong dates of cancelation.

It should be a red flag that they are this restrictive in cancelations. Avoid at all costs.

I was a member of this establishment from 2021-2024. I paid two years up front, and my membership was supposed to end October 1st 2024. I never agreed to any monthly membership fee; However, I was still charged a fee for the month of October!!! Apparently this was done by a manager that does not work there anymore, and I have been trying for months to rectify this and NO ONE has been able to help me or give me a refund whatsoever. I’ve called multiple times and even emailed. The customer service is terrible and not helpful at all!! The machines are always under maintenance, the group classes are always cancelled, and the restrooms are always dirty. With the amount you pay monthly they should at least have cleaner restrooms. What really got me was the staff and how useless they are. I always got told someone would get back to me and nothing happened. I was extremely patient because of the hurricane, but at this point they’re just trying to make me look foolish. I dealt with the current manager Que (?) and he promised he’ll take care of it, nothing got resolved to this day.

Update: After writing my review the manager, Quindy, reached out to me on numerous occasions stating that I should be receiving my refund. He was consistent on keeping me updated on this. However, this does not change my experience with them from the beginning, and only let me to believe that unless I write a negative review no one would’ve helped me.

We had a fantastic experience with Q! After my wife and I signed up online for a trial while visiting Naples from New York, Q reached out to us by phone to follow up, which we really appreciated. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

THE OWNER...of the gym decides to clean the vents during PEAK hours. DUST DIRT MILDEW all falling into the air. So I asked him "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!?!" SO HE YELLLS back at me "what you want me to close the gym?" "Your the only one it's bothering, you can't go over there???" I was not the only one who had a problem as i spoke to other members who i see on a regular basis. They felt the same way. He then slings the water from his scrub brush in anger and gets the water ALL OVER A GUEST. He tries to kick everyone out over his quarrel with me!!!!!!!!
Literally got into a pissing match with me.
Common sense would be to do this during a time with little to no guests right?

Theres Not enough weights or Olympic bars. Way too crowded. There's no "gym etiquette". Wasted space everywhere.
Not much variety for machines. Only 1 seated leg press. Only 1 seated quad curl.
The sauna is small. Can fit 4 seated and 2 can stand if you want to get in there.
People often do not rerack weights or wipe down equipment. Bathroom stalls are often gross floors are covered in urine.
Gym has potential but the owner isn't a gym goer so his gym ergonomics are lacking.

Original Review: 2 Stars - 75% of the lockers don’t work… and there wasn’t enough to begin with. Member for a couple years, finally hit silver sneakers age and quit. There aren’t many choices in East Naples for gyms. First thing you notice about Athletica when you walk in is the smell, it is a funk that hits your nose and only dissipates after you are desensitized from it. It’s still there ! The gym is packed with young people and almost everyone is sitting on a machine surfing there phone. Machines are heavily abused by the younger clientele and repairs are very slow. Sometimes months. Mens locker room is scurvy and only a quarter of the lockers work, many doors are ripped off there hinges. (Roid rage here). Cost is high but they can charge because there are few options. If you do join, have Vick’s to put up your nose as the hot summer months it can get very ripe in their.

Where do I begin? This has to be the worst gym in all of Southwest Florida. The equipment is in terrible shape—most machines are frequently broken, and repairs take months. For example, only 2 out of the 6 StairMasters actually work. The weights are constantly disorganized, and the machines are scattered around with no sense of order. It feels like the owners threw together a random collection of cheap, poorly maintained equipment, knowing there wasn’t much competition in the area.

The staff is no better. They act like they’re above everyone else, and the atmosphere is unwelcoming, with the manager spending all day in her office glued to her phone. They even close the gym randomly at the last minute, likely because it’s falling apart. And don’t even get me started on the restrooms—they’re in awful condition.

On top of that, the place is overrun with loud, obnoxious high school kids who have no sense of gym etiquette. This gym is a complete disaster. Avoid it at all costs.

There is a reason this place has such good reviews. This for a while was almost my "back up" gym for when my main gym didn't have hot water, had mold, didn't have ac, etc. Well now it's my main gym, because it never has any of these problems lol.

Unfortunately, it’s become way too busy here and many members don’t seem to care how they treat the equipment and it seems the owners stopped caring a long time ago.

I give up. After updating my review from a 1 to a 4, I’m dropping it back down to a 2. They just can’t keep up with the place.

I am updating my previous post of a 1 star review. The owners have taken member comments to heart and have definitely made changes for the better. It’s great to see Athletica returning to what it once was. A gym which caters to members serious about their strength training. The equipment is terrific.

Truthfully, I used to absolutely loveeee this gym and now I’m just beyond excited for the brand new Smash fitness down the road to open. I come in to the gym and half of the machines don’t work… 5 out of the 12 treadmills in the front row do not function correctly with the speed that it shows on the screen, there are leaks above a few of the treadmills, there is trash everywhere, 3 of the 5-6 stairmasters work and the ones that are broken have been broken for MONTHS. The concept of the 24/7 hour gym is by far the best feature of this gym (I go at 4:30 AM due to a strict work schedule) and is why I continue to be here… This gym used to be a solid 5/5 stars but I think the management has been slacking on the up keep and maintenance. It’s a shame. Hopefully this review reaches the top so that some improvements can be made. The purpose of a gym is to have working machines.

I enjoy going to the gym especially to Zumba classes with Cat and Marisol. I had four initial sessions with Antoine, my trainer. He thought me everything about the gym and how to workout properly. I learned a lot during these sessions. Antoine safely pushed me through my limits and beyond and for that I am grateful. Now I know what I can do and what my limits are when working out. He is patient, courteous, encouraging and knowledgeable. He also encourages me to eat well and to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I am super grateful I found this gym! Thank you 🙏. Gracias!

Walked in for a work out facility is dimly lit in the functional fitness area and very Dirty and disorganized weights were everywhere and not taken care of. One of the water fountains where had food bits from someone’s mouth and one wasn’t working. Ultimately the work out I had wasn’t bad because they have the weights, but seeing what they’re charging for a membership would lead you to believe that the place could be cleaner and more organized. Lord knows she is not getting paid enough to HARASS customers. She needs a meeting with her manager so she can get a lesson on manners and a new hobby because she clearly has nothing to do. Maybe have her clean the toilets because she’s obviously not busy enough

Definitely ask for good conditions when becoming a member and do not be disappointed like me. Since I speak very few languages, I came with my translator friend for convenience. When we signed up, the registration officer told us that the training was free, so we became members immediately. We also arranged a meeting with the training instructor. The training instructors are very good. They were intentional and knowledgeable and wanted to help me a lot, but they told me that the 1 or 2 hours of training I requested was for a fee. The information given when registering does not match the information given thereafter, and they are misleading people. This is not fair, so I canceled my membership the next day. I did not exercise even for a second, I asked if I would get a refund, the officer gave me an evasive answer, he did not even refund my money, I will report this issue to the state authorities as soon as possible.

Laughing at the 1 Star reviews criticizing the staff. They always do their best and are super friendly. Sure the machines are out of service sometimes but that is only because there are a lot of people using this amazing gym.
If the management has some spare pins (they get lost or break easy) for the cable tower and renews the leather on the machines (i think they already did that but I do not remember from the top of my head, but they have been worn out for some time) that would be a 5 star review.

As a suggestion something that I would like to see would be some safety racks for the benches just like for the Squat racks. Right now, unfortunately you can only push yourself with a spotter on the bench press.

I love the cakes (green bites, I think) and the shakes are my favorite.

I hope the management can implement some of the changes I posted because I believe other members would enjoy them too.

The employees here are so rude, no hospitality nor customer service care at this gym. It’s very dirty and disgusting to say the least.. never any towels and when I tried to cancel my membership they tried to hold my money hostage. It’s sickening.
