Played Bay Point for the first time 11/16/25. What a treat to play and was a shot makers stay on your game track. True Nicklaus design with deep bunkers (large), water, water and more water, and slope throughout to test any level of golfer. I have played over a half dozen Nicklaus courses and this one is not much different… But he nailed the use of signature hole #6. Picturesque and no miss shots allowed. 5 iron 5 iron on 2 shots to a kidney shaped green on the marsh. I failed. I also salute number 4 green with a 6 foot hill to figure out. I came up short to green and had to putt up the hill… Only to have the ball come back down. I actually love it! 4.5.6 are a bit of what you can call “devils elbow” and the. The course lets you breathe on some par 5’s. Nicklaus wants you to score on par 5’s. Never playing before I recommend the blended tee card. Play tee 3 and 4 in the blend. If your a single handicap no need to play this style. Good to see this type of tee alteration in scoring and handicapping. Greens rolled well and were a good challenge. Well worth the money for this gamer. I’ll be back.

not worth $120+ round of golf. average course conditions. Starter put me as a single behind a 5-some of members on a September Saturday morning. They did not play ready-golf, regularly pulled their carts up the green, and did not care that I was behind them waiting 5-6 minutes on every shot. Did not receive a rain check for the back 9 because they “don’t do rain checks”

I don't understand the negative reviews. Our families have visited PCB 3 times in the past year and have had a great experience each time. Course has been in great shape each time. Challenging but fun. Outside staff ( starter and Marshall ) were very professional and knowledgeable. This is our go to golfing experience anytime in the area.

Start with the positives.
Course layout and design is very neat and challenging for the average golfer. Planning your shots and course management is a must.
The signature hole #5 is one of the most unique and challenging holes I’ve played.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and our bartender was great!
Now for the not-so-positives..
Lots of small issues that compiled into a “meh” experience.
The bulk of the course smelled of raw sewage or decay. The first 5 holes specifically had a distinct rotting smell. Not sure if that’s a recent issue or a common issue there.
The course was in rough shape to say the least.
The fairways and fringe were scalped in spots, leaving patches of sand and dirt.
The greens were recently punched and top dressed, but didn’t seem to be rolled. Weeds were sprouting on every green as well. The greens in this condition were not receptive of approach shots and putting was not enjoyable. Planning your putt line was borderline pointless. Your ball was constantly hitting weeds and clumps of sand and dirt.
A few of the tee boxes were just sand and dirt.
The rough had clumps of dead and dry clippings everywhere.
The carts are outdated and did not have gps.
A 6 pack of domestic light beer on special is $56.00…
Some may feel that this review is too critical, but at $120/person(at a discounted rate) and an average price of $150.00/person I feel there’s a certain level of reasonable expectation for course conditions.

The course was very beautiful, however, if you’re going to have a good time and not be rushed, this is not the course for you. It is for professional players only apparently.! If you want to enjoy yourself, maybe try a different course . But the bar staff and cart girl was very friendly, professional, and pleasant to deal with!

Really bad experience.
Course was in terrible shape especially for charging $150. Weeds were growing in almost every green.
Tee boxes were terrible as well nearly all of it was patchy and not level at all.
Also had members playing right up on us and hit into us when our 4 some was ahead of schedule. Very disrespectful and rude from “members”.

I had high hopes for this course, but unfortunately, the condition of the greens completely ruined the experience. They were in terrible shape—patchy, bumpy, and clearly neglected. For a course charging $150 a round, this is completely unacceptable. The layout might have potential, but it’s hard to enjoy any of it when the putting surfaces are this bad. Save your money until they invest in proper maintenance—right now, this course is nowhere near worth the price.
Only thing positive was the food in the clubhouse was decent.
This is what you call a Goat Ranch!

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. $150 to play what is essentially a condominium development on what could have previously only been a goat ranch. Staff was rude, course was in terrible condition and the pro shop attendant claimed the course was in its “usual good condition”. Upon arrival there were a few people hanging out that smelled like cheap weed and mysteriously a box of golf balls ended up missing from one of our bags.
The two guys that’s cleaned our clubs off after the round were very nice and deserve a better place to work and play.
We also inquired as to membership cost and a $15k initiation fee along with roughly $800 a month to play this place is insane.

Bay Point has long been a local favorite, but $149 is a bit beyond. For $149, one would expect raked bunkers, perfectly manicured greens, etc. Not exactly true here. Since Hurricane Michael, local courses have gained monopolies that have allowed greens fees to increased dramatically. Just because you can doesn’t necessarily mean you should. There is not room in this game for price gouging or profiteering. Today in PCB, four local friends will collectively pay $600 for their weekend round. A dad taking his son out to play pays $300. Today I played with a college student (former local HS golfer and former Bay Point employee) who was charged $149. A business model that discourages local golfers from enjoying the game is not in the spirit of the game real golfers love. PCB is more than just tourists. I encourage Bay Point and other local courses to do better.

As a local I will tell all my friends visiting from now on to stay away from this course! I was supposed to play with a group of friends this morning and had to cancel last minute because of work, but sent them on to play, so instead of 4 players they had 3 and Bay Point still charged ny friends $150 for me because they said they had a 24 cancellation policy. It’s not like we canceled the whole tee time, only I couldn’t be there. Very unprofessional and I will be posting everywhere I can to keep friends and friend of friends from coming to PCB to play this course!!

For $149.99 a round this course is not even close to being worth it. It’s the middle of the summer at the this time and every green was pretty sandy and cut horribly. On top of that, several greens had weeds growing in them that were unattended to. The water jugs were empty and they only offered the small white cones for cups. I honestly expected better for $149.
After getting done, I pulled to the pro shop and was inside for a short time. When I walked out my cart was gone along with my bag and belongings. I spent several minutes asking employees where my stuff was and everyone responded with, “ I don’t know.” I ended up finding my bag in the parking lot with no idea who packed it up. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate considering they took my cart from the pro shop which is not near the cart barn. I then asked all the employees where my drink and food was at since they moved my cart. Again, “I don’t know.” They then tried to charge me again for the drinks. This is a course I’ll never give money to again.

Disappointed with the overall experience. The round was seriously overpriced for what was offered - no GPS on carts, driving range is under construction, outdated clubhouse and food was overpriced.
The course itself was just okay, but the lack of amenities made it feel like a poor value.
Expected much more for the cost. For $150 a round, nobody should be hitting into nets.
I’d play anywhere else besides here. Not recommending to anybody unless major improvements are made.

Golf course was in very good condition. A few greens had little clumps of grass that would redirect your ball. Had a 12:15 tee time and was quoted a green fee and when we arrived and checked in with the Pro Shop, had to pay quite a bit more. We had a great time on the links and were not pushed at any time.

The service at the carts and in the shop was very good.
The course itself offered a nice variety of hole designs and I enjoyed the playing the course.
Pay attention to your gps and the course booklet they give you.
Most of the holes have water on them l. I got careless on 18 and hit my approach shot into the pond left of the green that i could not see.
Hole 5 is target golf on all shots, it is by far the post card hole along the bay.
Conditioning wise the tee boxes and fairways were in mostly good shape. The greenside bunkers were in outstanding shape. The only area that needs work are the greens. They were’nt bad, but definitely had some bumps and blemishes from poa growing on them.

Played April 29, 2025, the course layout was wonderful design and from that point on it was a complete disaster because the tee boxes and fairways had no grass. Twelve of the eighteen greens had poa annua which had been killed but was still present. Being raised in Panama City in the 60’s Bay Point was the hottest spot on beach to play golf. Being a member of the largest private golf course in the USA, I wanted to compare our course to Bay Point. Boy were we disappointed paying $130+ we expected the course to be in better shape. The grounds crew had spread a ton of fertilizer all over the course but still no grass to hit from.

Nice layout, challenging, and beautiful. A little rough around the edges, but the greens and main playing areas were in good shape, except a few greens had some poa annua popping through. Golf carts did not have GPS, which is expected if paying $120+, but range balls were complementary.

Nice course, friendly staff. Course is challenging with some beautiful holes. The greens were slightly slow and you need to be careful on the cart paths to avoid driving in front of a tee box for a prior hole. Otherwise, probably the nicest course with 10-15 minutes of Panama City Beach.

Very nice and challenging course, lots of water hazards, bunkers and overall very narrow. I don’t understand the reviews complaining about the conditions, they were phenomenal and we had a great time playing the course.
My complaint is with the rental equipment, and pro shop staff.
The website claims that they have the newest taylormade qi10 sets available to rent on a first come first serve basis. My dad and I were vacationing at the local marriot and decided to play, the green fees were high and rentals $60, and we were the first tee time of the day (6:42am) We figured that was high but at least we could try out the new qi10s.
We were given three generation old sets of clubs, sim2 irons and hybrid, first gen stealth woods and drivers.
I saw 20+ new sets of Qi 10 sets in the back room and asked the pro shop associate if we could play the new sets and we were told that they didn’t have full sets even though I was looking at them in plain sight, but regrettably didn’t make a big deal out of it.
Next, I told them needed a stiff set. I was provided a set with only a stiff driver, all irons, wood and hybrid were regular flex which I didn’t realize until about midway through the round and couldn’t go back at that point.
I told the pro shop associate after our round of my dissatisfaction with the set and all he said was sorry, didn’t offer any reimbursement or take care in any way. Seems like they were holding onto the rentals for their buddies and they simply brushed the situation off. Next time I would definitely challenge this further given they charged $60 for a rental and provided 3 generation old equipment despite the false advertisement on their website of qi10 equipment, which I saw in plain sight!
This would be an easy 5 star for me purely for the course but given the mismanagement of the rental clubs and the pro shop employees knocking two stars. Need to do better and treat your vacationing guests with higher level of service.
My advice If your renting clubs here is to check the clubs and make sure they’re what you asked for and push for the qi10s that they do have, just weren’t willing to allow us to play.

A fantastic course that was in incredible condition when I played it in early June. The layout has a true coastal feel and you are treated to some absolutely stunning golf holes right along the water. The course is beautiful and was a lot of fun to play. The staff inside and the bartender were great. The beverage cart lady was also very nice. The greens were in pretty rough shape which was surprising for a course like this. Unfortunately we had a pretty ignorant ranger rolling around. Not sure if he didn’t know golf or how to count but hopefully that’s an issue that the course will be able to handle. We were a foursome and they had a single and three twosomes tee off behind us which was pretty bizarre. We played fairly quickly (a four hour round) while also letting the solo and twosomes play through. Ranger stated we need to be able to keep up with the solo player or the twosome group. It’s stupid interactions like this that can really take away from the experience…

Really enjoyed my round today. Pace of play was incredible for a Saturday morning... 3 hours!
As for the course... was warned ahead of time the greens were aerated a few days prior, so I tempered my expectations + got a little discount, but they actually rolled pretty good. Can tell in a couple weeks they'll be pristine.
Fairways and tee boxes were solid for the most part.
Love the layout of the course. Hole 5 obviously the standout with the island fairway, but I thought the mixture overall was awesome. Brutal first 5 holes though! Survive those without losing a ball and you're on your way to a great round.
For out of towners... It's probably not going to be as nice as you normally pay for $120+ round... But due to supply and demand in PCB this is probably your best, local option for really good practice facilities, solid course conditions and a memorable layout.

Very disappointing. The disorganization and rude customer service really overshadowed the beauty of the coarse. They gave each team a tee time 8 minutes apart so the backup was so bad, we had 3 different teams waiting for one hole. After 4 hours we made it to the 9th hole. The staff was extremely rude in general. It was just two of us and we left after 8 holes due to the wait at the 9th we paid for 18 holes so we were extremely disappointed. The course was in good shape, greens and fairways well maintained. The bunkers were well groomed but the sand itself was a bit chunky. The course has hidden water all over the place, after playing the course once I would take driver less (played from the White Tees, they are called #3 on this course).
If you need food mid round you need to bring it or grab something at the grill before the round because once you tee off you do NOT go anywhere near the clubhouse again until 18. We chose to play Bay Point while on vacation. When we arrived, we were greeted by an older gentleman who advised that the range was closed. When I mentioned that having a range tonwarm up when it's 45 degrees and windy is one of the reasons we chose to play there, he said it's not too late to change our minds and can go somewhere else. It was an unbelievable thing to hear from the first representative of a destination resort course that is charging significantly higher rates than what the course would otherwise command. They also didn't have any food available, there is no turn back near the club house and we saw the food bev cart once. When we returned to the clubhouse, the range was open and we were denied a partial refund for the services that we expected when we booked this course. Do yourself a favor and go play somewhere else while in PCB.

Staff was exceptionally friendly upon arrival and throughout round. The $139 green fee is absurd for this course, however. Especially since booking a tee time online was $30 less per person, which was lovely to find out after the fact. The front part of the course was in rough shape and shoved in between a lot of traffic and condominiums. Weeds and sand all in the greens. Fairways lacked a lot of grass cover. The views of the bay were nice I guess. The course opens up some on the back 9, but still was a very average course as far as play and condition. Would definitely recommend checking out Windswept Dunes instead. It’s about 45 minutes from PCB, cheaper, in much better condition, and in a more natural setting.

Absolute worst golf experience of my life. Charging full price for 18 temporary greens is ridiculous. I never would have booked if I had known that all 18 greens were under construction. The temp greens are literally a shaved spot on the fairway 50 yards short of the regular green with an eight inch pvc pipe in the ground for a cup.
All of the staff were very nice with the exception of the marshal which seemed to be on some sort of power trip. He was rude and aggressive from the start. If you are looking for a good golf experience go somewhere else.
I would have giver them zero stars if possible but one star is the lowest rating it allowed.

Make sure you call ahead to see if any surprises are in store. When I arrived I had an excellent Reuben at the bar while waiting for my partner. While eating I asked the cart guy how the course was playing and was told then that the course was all temporary greens. Overall the front nine is in poor shape and temp greens are a joke. The back nine is in pretty good shape as far as the tee boxes and fairways are concerned but once again the temp greens are an absolute joke. Also if you play in the afternoon make sure that you have everything you need, (beer, water, food, etc.) the pro shop and bar close at 4 but if you find you’re in need just ride down to the marina and get what you need there. If the course was in good shape I would say $95 a round is good but as the course sits now $95 is absurd.

The course was in terrible shape! The greens were in disrepair. We arrived on the practice range and the “attendant” was laying in a golf cart with her feet kicked up on her phone and never said anything to anyone. People were mowing and spraying Chemicals while we were playing. To say I was disappointed was an understatement.

Worse course ever! Greens are gone, sand traps are full of weeds and you have to putt on temporary greens with an 8 iron and all of this I might could have accepted it I had been told about it before I paid. The course right now is way off and I would avoid it for now.

Very challenging course despite its condition. Definitely needs some Maintenance. Lots of water and sand. A few holes had views of the lagoon which were nice. Some Fairways had dead grass it appeared. Most of the sand traps had grass growing in them and could more sand. Temporary greens are set up which was not even worth the discounted rate for the greens being out of service. Very very slow and hard to putt on most of them. I’m sure this course is much much better If all the above was in better condition. Beverage cart was out and about. Staff was friendly and amazing. Free bag of range balls before tee off was nice too. Keep up the hard work! You have a course with a lot of potential to be 5 stars one day!

Have lived in Panama City for over 12 years and am an avid golfer. It is unfortunate that following hurricane Michael we lost some of our golf courses and that prices for the few we had left have pushed or exceeded the $100 mark. Mind you, these are the same courses we played for $35-60 prior hurricane. The Nicklaus course is $139 and the greens are unplayable. They inform you of this before you tee off, yet offer no discount. If you come to the panhandle do not bother playing this place, it is not going to be remedied anytime soon!

The Resort is beautiful and love that it is quietly tucked away and has its own private Island. The Resort has a lot of amenities they offer, but did not take advantage of any of them. They even offered Free Chair Massages! The food was delicious during lunch and dinner, but the breakfast was not so good. A cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich was $22. My husband put the sandwich in the microwave to heat it up and when he took a bite, it was still frozen in the middle. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated, but the beds are very firm. We prefer very soft beds, so we woke up with sore shoulders and hips. We also like more pillows, which you only get 4 to a king bed. It was a little bit of a hassle to get extra pillows. House keeping was very helpful and nice, but when we tried to contact the front desk, no one would answer. I called 3 x’s from the room and then decided to take the cordless phone to the port holes in the corridor on level 3 and called 2 more times as I watched through the port holes. To my surprise, 2 guest service members were standing there at the desk ignoring the ringing phone. I would have to say that the incident upset me and if I could have spoken to a Manager about the Guest Service employees that evening, I would have. Overall, the experience was good. The Resort is beautiful and has always been one of our favorite places to stay… just minus the firm bed and the 2 guest service employees.

Wish I read the reviews before booking. $139 with this course condition is theft. Every green was awful. Not only was it because of the greens, but in the middle of my round, one of the employees decides to cut me off midway thru 16. He has 6 young kids hanging off all sides of the golf cart. Instead of letting me just continue playing, I sat in the fairway for 27 minutes waiting for the kids to finish each of their 15 shots. When I finally get to the green and assume the greens couldn’t be worse, you can see where the kids were stomping in a 10’ radius around the hole. I finally get past this group and get to 18 and it’s the same thing. I paid $139 for the worst greens I’ve ever played and waited an hour for lessons to be taught in the middle of my round. Only reason for the 2nd star was bc of the starter and cart girl. I will be forwarding the same sentiments to Nicklaus Companies as I’m sure they’re not aware of this course disrespecting their name.

Read the reviews and they were true reviews so I got what I asked for. Played 5-21-2022 and, although the layout of the course is odd(it’s as if they decided to build a course through and around apartments) it has some challenging holes. The greens has many dead spots and fungus growing. This is no means a $105 course. $30 maybe but that’s it. Save your money. Cannot recommend this course at the price you pay.

What a fall from grace. What arguably used to be the nicest course in town has found itself competing with Signal Hill for absolute worst. I can’t believe this place looks at people with a straight face and asks for over $100 a round. Would have a hard time paying $40 to play there. Cool views and layout… until you get to the greens that look like they have the Black Plague. Seriously, did the owner say something negative about the Alabama Crimson Tide? Because it looks like Harvey Updyke has come back with a vengeance. Play in Destin if you feel like paying over $100

Drove across town to this course just wanted to hit balls on the range. Never been here. Was told I had to have a collared shirt on to hit on the range then was I told I could buy a shirt or change and come back will not come back ever. I wasn’t dressed like someone that just came off the beach. I fully understand rules but first time here just to hit balls on a range!!!!!!

I expected a course in much better condition. The greens were in horrible shape, kind of like putting on the moon. They're bumpy, had some weird fungus and some weeds/crabgrass growing in spots. Definitely not worth $100+ per player. The staff was very friendly. Had four players in our group, none had played the course before. Played our round in 4 hours. Had a group of members on our tail all day. The marshal told us we needed to pick it up because we were “ about 3 min away from being behind schedule” . Fist time I've ever been talked to while being on time. Sorry but I don't think four players at a four hour pace is slow. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place.

I really like this course. The layout is great and the staff has been awesome both times I have been there. We got a hot deal so we only paid $75 as compared to the $95 or more it could be. It really isn't anywhere worth that price right now. The conditioning was truly terrible when I recently played here on vacation. Every single green had dead spots. The grass that was on the greens was inconsistent hole to hole so speed varied a lot depending on the hole I'm sure the staff is doing the best they can with what they have. Hopefully they can get things moving in a better direction soon because it could be an awesome place to play.

Comparatively, this course was way over priced. Our public courses at home are in much better shape, and they haven't seen sunshine in 6 months. The fairway grass was so short it was like hitting off concrete. The greens were in horrible shape with patches of some kind of fungus looking stuff and patches of dirt. The par 3 course in town had better greens. It was an cool design.
Pack an ice chest because the club house is not at the turn and there was no beer cart or water jugs on the course.
Other than the time with my family it was a big waste.
Water the lawn.

Overall, decent track with a friendly staff. $105 might be a bit steep for the condition of the course but I would expect that price due to its location. I wouldn’t drive out of the way to play it but good enough if you’re staying in the area.

My golf partner and I really looked forward to playing a Nicklaus designed course. Unfortunately, we were VERY disappointed as was the two guys who played with us. First the positives…the staff was very friendly and cordial; the sand in the traps was magnificent to hit out of; the view/sights on a few of the holes was beautiful. Now for the negatives: 1. The greens were in horrible shape….MANY dead spots, many weeds and they were rock hard. 2. The driving range was in horrible condition…VERY little grass to hit from, mostly sand. We were each given a very small bag of balls that were dirty and in terrible condition. 3. The signage from green to the next tee was lacking. On either hole 14 to 15 or 15 to 16 we got lost…the small sign was on a fence post hidden behind shrubbery. For a course played by tourists the signage should be better and the score card should show the layout of the course. In the opinion of this foursome from Minnesota, we expected a MUCH better experience and felt this was definitely NOT a $90 course. We would much prefer playing Signal Hills or Blackstone in Defuniak Springs at less than half the cost of Bay Point and the overall conditions are equal to or better than Bay Point. This course may have been designed by Jack Nicklaus but it’s not been maintained to his standards. We will never play this course again and cannot recommend it to others.

They need to get control of the so called member's who think they can do and say as they please. I was behind a 4 some and a 2 some with a 2 some of members behind me who kept on and on hitting over me because the flow of play was slow then want to get a attitude when I can only go so fast. And have the nerve to call me a outsider because of my tattoos.

Awesome 11 holes that I played. The first 5 are very interesting due to all the water hazards. Nice driving range and putting area. The starter was very informative about the course and what tees to play.. What I was not told is how close the starting time were and after 11 holes in @ 2.5 hours of play our whole group decided to opt out and call it quits even though at a steep rate!! I would think at those rates there would be more time between flights or someone to police the slow playing people!!

7/9/18 - For the price you pay to play golf here, you are better off not playing golf in Panama City Beach fl at all. The reviews on here did not live up to the courses hype. I played the meadows course while on vacation and that ran me about 73 dollars, it seemed as if every pond was dried up and in bad shape. There are no scenic holes that grabbed my attention every hole looked generic and simple. The fairways and the starter are about the only two positive things about this golf course. The greens were cut and looked nice from a far but ran very slow. Very disappointed with this golf course and will play Signal hill or Kelly’s plantation on my next visit to PCB. Two stars is generous.
