I’ve been a member at Bend the Bar Fitness since April 2025, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. The staff is always helpful, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the gym feel comfortable no matter your fitness level. The equipment is state of the art and always well maintained, so I never have to worry about waiting around or dealing with broken machines. It’s clear that they take pride in keeping the facility top-notch. Overall, this gym has everything I need to stay motivated and consistent—highly recommend!

Great gym in Defuniak. Clean and well taken care of. Easy to use app. 24 hour. Equipment updated and new equipment added regularly. I have enjoyed getting into fitness here at Bend the Bar.

Great gym in Defuniak. Everything is spaced perfectly so you don’t feel crowded even with quite a few people in the gym. Owners and staff are great, they even have supplements for purchase if you forget your pre workout or protein.

I have been a member at bend the bar for almost 3 years now! They have incredibly nice staff and equipment making the overall experience a 10/10. Jamie and Ilyssa are great about keeping the gym a safe space that everyone wants to continue to come back to! If you’re wanting to try a new spot the DFS location is great! It’s huge which makes busy days seem less crowded! Love this gym and will always recommend them anyone I meet!!

Dropped in while in town for work. Great gym. Dumbbells up to 125. Benches, platforms, squat ranks, bands, rowers, etc. Everything you need. Plates all in lbs, metal and rubber both.

This gym is very accommodating and has every piece of equipment you can think of! There are numerous squat racks and is pretty spacious inside. Although I was a little intimidated at first, the people are very friendly and encouraging. There is an entire upstairs dedicated to “posing” with a dark ambiance (defuniak location) which is great for progress pictures! The Freeport location has just as much equipment and a separate outside area for CrossFit classes that are offered with your membership. The recovery room was opened earlier this year and offers many different options for some R&R! If you have just begun your journey or are a gym vet, this is the place to be. Join up and be part of the BTB fitness community!

Great Gym just wish they would call united health insurance and be one of thier gyms that they pay for thier customers. I got to use freeport gym as it's the only one my insurance covers. Otherwise this gym is by far the best in the area if you pay cash or card.

I started working out at this location 11 years ago, and I can honestly say this is NOT the same gym it was when I lived here.

Since the new ownership took over, the place has transformed in all the right ways. The equipment is top-notch, everything is kept clean, and the overall vibe is much more welcoming and motivating.

As an active-duty military member, I look forward to coming back every time I’m home. Highly recommend this gym to anyone serious about their fitness
