While I met Mel over ten years ago as my Yoga instructor (amazing!) she has since become my instructor for Barre, Pilates, Stretch class. She has gotten me through the COVID times (via Zoom) and my many health challenges with her knowledge, patience and motivation. She is creative in planning her classes, bringing new ideas/poses to keep them fresh and fun. Thanks to Zoom (and recorded sessions when needed) I've taken her classes while traveling in the US and abroad. Also, I've been fortunate to be on the receiving end of her wonderful facials and nutrition/cooking classes. I highly recommend Mel to achieve your fitness and wellness goals.

Melanie is the most dedicated personal trainer I’ve ever met. She is constantly educating herself about the body’s physiology, nutrition and exercise. She’s a wealth of knowledge about all things heath and fitness. I am currently 64 years old and Melanie modified my workouts after three of my surgeries, which allowed me to start getting back into shape sooner than later.
I originally met Melanie at Shapes. I had lower back issues and a recent hip replacement. I was looking for a personal trainer that didn’t injure me. (I have had several trainers and some of them injured me) Melanie‘s workouts were fantastic from the start and always designed to fit my needs. When she left Shapes, I followed her to the YMCA, then to Dan’s Fitness, then to her neighborhood gym and now to her awesome gym on Manhattan. It was Melanie that, after my second hip replacement, noticed that I was 1 cm short on that leg. I was able to get it corrected at my podiatrist office so that my hips were even and my spine straight. As long as Melanie trains, I will be her client. Even if eventually I need a walker.

Melanie Yoshida is amazing inspiration to anyone’s physical fitness/life goals. I have personally had her as a trainer for over 10+ years and she has always guided me in the right direction based on my specific needs. She has helped me through several injuries throughout the years, including strength training, cardio workouts and endurance training. One of the most valuable assets of Melanie Yoshida is her extensive education and background in biophysics, body mechanics along with her vast knowledge on nutritional /dietary /pharmacological information.
