I began working with Matt more than two years ago following major surgery, and I have been intentional about my fitness journey ever since. My initial goals were to regain strength, increase flexibility, and improve my range of motion, all of which I accomplished. Thanks to Matt's engaging and enjoyable workouts, I have since set new objectives.

Currently, I am focused on maintaining muscle mass, stabilizing my knee joints, and enhancing my bone strength. I have seen clear improvements in my balance, posture, and overall cardiovascular health. Matt's deep knowledge of sports injury recovery and his commitment to staying current with the latest techniques are invaluable. I’ve been seeing Matt for over six years now, and I intend to see him for a whole lot more.
I’ve had a few personal trainers in my now (sorta’) long life, and Matt is the first one to have actually listened to what I want and crafted a workout plan so I’d reach my goals. (Which I have, so I’m moving the goalposts. Lol)
Among many other things, I like that he makes sure none of my exercises are going to cause injuries, and he makes sure I have good form when I'm doing them. So as I had hoped, I have not had any injuries while working out, and I have gained a good amount of muscle.
I have a schedule that’s very variable, and Matt is great about finding days and times that work for me. But I know he also has many clients that see him on a regular schedule, the same days and time each week. He’s really accommodating with however you want to schedule your sessions.

I should mention he has his own gym/studio. It's not overly big, but it's big enough that it fits a well curated selection of equipment that I think has everything most anyone could want. It's also one-on-one -- your session is for you, they'll be nobody else in the studio when you're there.

On top of all that, he’s very affable and enjoyable to be around and talk to, so I actually look forward to my sessions. Going with a rating of 1 to 5 stars, I rate him a 10. You cannot go wrong with Matt.

I have been training with Matt for a while, and I am long overdue writing a review. I moved to Florida a couple of years ago, and Matt's studio is exactly what I was looking for. My time going to the over-crowded chain gyms has long since passed. I am able to get everything I need not only with equipment but also with a trainer.

I see Matt three times a week. I told Matt when I first started that I did not want to have think at all and just do what I am told. We have our routine down as far as what body parts we are going to cover, but Matt also mixes up which exercises we will do, including testing new exercises. This is one of many characteristics that sets Matt apart from other trainers I have had in the past. My session with Matt do not get stale and boring.

I cannot recommend Matt highly enough. He's personable and friendly. When he is available, he is generous with his time if I need to reschedule. He's professional even though I find myself laughing most of the time when I am at his studio. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better trainer in St Pete.

I’ve been to many personal trainers over the years, living in different cities. Matt is the best personal trainer that I’ve ever had, plus the sessions are one-on-one with no one else in the gym. He really customizes each workout to the individual and is very thoughtful about any physical limitations in order to avoid injury and to strengthen parts of the body that may need more attention. Matt really listens to his customers on what their goals are and keeps detailed records of the workouts to ensure progress is tracked. He can also customize diet plans and provide other helpful advice, when requested. Matt is always positive and encouraging during each session, and I believe that he genuinely cares about his clients. I highly recommend him for anyone at any age and fitness level. You won’t be disappointed!

I am 76 years old and have always been in reasonably good shape. That is until last summer when a disease caused me to lose a great deal of weight in a very short period of time. With it went a lot of strength, muscle, and a sense of coordination. It felt like instant aging. Nothing I tried helped me recover.
Fortunately I found BodyRush Fitness. Matt designed and guided me through fitness and exercise program that has worked wonders in a few months. The training sessions were enjoyable and challenging, and left me feeling invigorated. I’ve regained much of that lost strength, and I think I’m on the road to maintaining physical wellbeing in the future. Because I was a snowbird in Florida for the winter, Matt went the extra mile by finding a suitable personal trainer in my home town and sharing with him the record of the training sessions.

Though this isn’t my normal account I’m giving my review with this one. I’ve been with Matt even before he made this his business and the amount of growth he has had during that time is amazing. He always makes it fun to workout while giving useful advice whenever I’m doing weights or even if I plan to work outside the gym. Matt puts his all into making a workout customized for each person and tries to make sure they are comfortable. So even at times where I’ve not been for a while due to personal reasons he helps me get back into shape or reteach me skills with no judgements There is no trainer I’d rather have during my times working than him. Even if that means he’ll make me have to do more weighted lunges.

I attend Body Rush Fitness 3 times a week. This is the best gym I have ever seen in the history of all gyms! Take my word for it. Matt is the best trainer I have ever worked with. On 9/25/19, I started training with Matt about 3 days per week. At that time, I was, IMO, in desperate need of some physical changes. I am 46 years old with a 28 year old 'end stage' knee replacement & 5 inch tibial cadaver resection as a result of bone cancer when I was a teenager so finding someone who was creative in dealing with my quite complex physical limitations was imperative.

I had a three interviews with personal trainers and when I met Matt, I knew I found the right person. Matt is extremely professional, military punctual, motivating, honest, positive, uplifting, and knowledgeable. Matt gently guides me at my level and corrects my form when needed so I can exercise safely and effectively while working towards my fitness goals. His pricing and schedule is reasonable.

Matt's gym is located literally right on the Pinellas Trail so if you want to go for a walk, run, or bike ride before or after, this location is super convenient and parking is literally in front of the gym. There is never anyone else in the gym so this minimizes any distractions. The gym itself is super clean (he has hand sanitizer by the front door) and I see Matt cleaning all the equipment after each client.

My strength/endurance/ADLs have grown leaps and bounds since starting my fitness journey, so much that my husband even notices my progression! My ONLY wish is I should have reached out to him 5 years ago when me moved to this side of St. Pete!!

There were three things my wife and I were looking for in a personal trainer: Efficiency, Safety, Attention to detail. Matt is really excellent in all three of these areas, and you also get a really intense, goal-oriented workout master as a bonus!
Efficiency: Matt is punctual, organized, and prepared for every single workout, every single time. He tracks our improvements, monitors our progress (and lapses!) and is constantly urging us to put in our utmost in during every session.
Safety: Form, form, form! No haranguing into unnecessary and counterproductive too-fast reps or too much weight or improper posture. The facility is spotless. The atmosphere is businesslike and focused.
Attention to detail: Matt religiously follows up on things he picks up on from workout to workout. My wife and I work out together, and he tailors each exercise to meet our individual needs, and then carefully monitors our execution and progress. His enthusiasm and excellent.
Bonus: Matt is very easy to interact with, fun, and in amazing shape himself.
Additional bonus: Rates are very competitive. Access to the facility is very convenient.
My wife and I cannot recommend Body Rush enough. If you are serious about getting in shape, see Matt at Body Rush.

UPDATE:
Weight loss and strength gains! 'Been working out for over a year now under Matt's direction. He keeps coming up with new ways to push us, getting us to up our game, setting new goals, all the while calmly and carefully monitoring our form, preventing injury and -- get this -- just being a great guy to hang out with for a couple hours a week! My wife takes full advantage of the assisted stretching as part of her cool-down, and we highly recommend it. If you'd like to get in the best shape of your life through a multi-faceted, thoughtful, and never-boring approach without all the hoopla of a cross-fit yelling fest, set something up with Matt. We've worked out at a bunch of places before, and Body Rush is among the best.
