The staff is very friendly. My gripes are that it's only a 30-minute lesson, and when you arrive for swimming lessons, there are 3 other children in the same class with only one instructor. This means that 30 minutes of lessons split into four children gives less than 8 minutes of lessons per child only once a week. In other words, my daughter will learn to swim in mosquitoes steps. My opinion is, I don't recommend it if you want your child to learn to swim in a few weeks. But for those just looking for a way to keep their child occupied, this is a valid option.

My son Joshua is in Shark 1 at British Swim School it’s been a fantastic experience for him. He’s had so much fun and has improved more than we ever expected. The instructors are kind, patient, and have made us feel so welcome from day one. We’re so happy with his progress and highly recommend the program!

The entire staff and team of instructors are not only highly competent, but also incredibly friendly and genuinely invested in the progress of the children. Their care and encouragement make a real difference.
Special thanks to Ms Saleh, Ms. Chloe, Ms. Sarah, Mr. Will, Ms. Emma, and Mr. Tony — just to name a few — for their dedication and warmth. We’re grateful for the positive impact they’ve had!

We have had a wonderful experience with British Swim School. The class timings work for our family and our kiddo showed a lot of progress over the time we have had him take classes. The instructors are wonderful and work at the pace of your child. Definitely recommend them for swim training for your little ones.

British Swim School is the BEST! I have 3 young children enrolled in classes and they all love it and are making great gains. We love the teachers and variety of times and locations available. We also love how class is rarely canceled because of the indoor locations. My favorite part is that my children are learning survival as well as actually how to swim and the strokes!

We enjoyed our experience at the Palm Bay location but this location not so much. The staff are just not as welcoming. Our child was targeted for not having her swim cap because we provide our own. The staff instructed that we must use the British swim cap or bring it to class bc there was turnover amongst the staff. So we purchased a new one and bring it to class however there are several students who don't use the provided swim cap or have no swim cap at all and nothing is ever said to them. Even my local friends who attend the same lessons haven't received this constant scrutiny, they don't even know where their caps are and were never told there was an issue. If it's a rule it should be applied to everyone.

Words can’t express how thankful I am to have found British Swim School. From the moment you arrive, you can see affirmations and positivity everywhere. They are very consistent and passionate about teaching the skills needed to survive in the water. I am impressed every time I sit on the side and watch not only my kids, but other kids too, in how quickly they learn the skills to survive and overcome their fears of water. If you’re looking for a swimming school that is indoors, instills confidence, and has fast results, this is the place.

My sons are in the same class and have had a wonderful experience feeling welcomed. The class is personalized and the instructors are very skilled in both the pool technique but also in understanding true fear vs hesitation and nerves and work with the parents so well.

We love British Swim School!!! Class sizes are small to allow ample time for each child to practice what they learn. The instructors are very patient and encouraging and make class fun but also expect certain skills to be learned. The great thing about this learning environment is each student progresses at their own rate and once they master that skill, they move up. Extremely pleased with British Swim School!!!

I could write a review 3 pages long explaining how amazing of an Instructor Will is at the British Swim School Melbourne and how thankful my family is for him. As a little background, my son Knox was almost 3 years old and previously took the ISR swim lessons the year prior to starting swim lessons at British Swim School. Due to the ISR lessons he was absolutely terrified of the water and screamed the entire first lesson with the British Swim School. His swim instructor, Will, was so good with him and by his second lesson my son was able to be in the water without screaming. We are not permanent residents of Melbourne Florida and we were only here for a short amount of time due to a travel work assignment. Will only had about 2 months to work with my son and in those 2 months he had my son excited to go to swim lessons, smiling throughout the entire lesson, and even jumping off the side of pool into the water and working on his back float! Watching my son drastically change from being terrified of the water to truly enjoying his swim lessons nearly brought tears to my eyes! I cannot say enough good things about Will and the British Swim School! I would highly recommend Will for swim lessons, you won't regret it! The only thing I regret is that we aren't going to be in Melbourne any longer for my son to continue to take swim lessons with Will!

Wonderful people and staff they are far from the problem to whereas that lies with the system. Tight schedules for parents with jobs or any family emergencies are penalized with a fee to do classes again and they do have the option to reschedule but while there were times I rescheduled if something happened the day of I have to pay for the redo. A big thing for me as well is once the kids are past a certain point the 30 min class is just too short. If the classes were 45 min to an hour I feel that would help because If your kids are like mine that learn at a gradual pace you'll be in one class for a whole year. I just wish they had that little more time. My son was in the program 3 years. I'm sure not every kid takes that long but he didn't end up finishing and can still save himself in deep waters. Maybe not as strong a swimmer as the top kids but I didn't appreciate him being held in one class for a year when I seen with my own eyes him swimming just fine. Again great people love all the instructors. It's more about the system. Needs a rework.

We began taking our son to British Swim School (BSS) so that he could gain the confidence to swim with his father and older brother. Both of his swim coaches have been amazing and have gently encouraged him throughout his process of improving his water skills. He has taken swim classes before, but they needed to be more robust, so we chose BSS. In addition, the administrative staff at BSS is very flexible regarding make-up classes and goes out of their way to help and assist parents and caregivers. I thoroughly recommend British Swim School to all considering enrolling their children.

We could not be more pleased with the professional, caring, well-trained staff of British Swim School. Keep up the great work. We highly recommend this team!

This is a swim school where they are"dedicated" to helping your child learn how to swim. I have watched many many lessons and seen children absolutely terrified of the water progress to little swimmers. They are very dedicated to each child. Their classes are small and individualized. You can see the genuine concern for each child's needs. They are very accommodating to scheduling. All they ask is 24 hrs notice, and they allow ample make-up time. The school provides year-round lessons, a big plus! It is a family-oriented environment. Very personal. I can't say enough good things about this school! Learning to swim is so very important, and it takes time. I highly recommend this school!

I was very pleased with the progress they make with my little one. They are clam and collected and do not have many people in the class which help is the distractions and all students get good one on one time. The app is very easy to use. We are sad to leave the program due to relocation but are so happy we could have used them for the time we did! Worth every penny!

We have been with British Swim School for 2 years now. Their teaching method aligns with our parenting method, and our boys respond very well. When the boys have a bad day, the instructors will take it easy. But when there are days when all the stars align, they will push their boundaries and try new skills.
They have been flexible with sicknesses/vacations with doing make-up swim lessons, within a reasonable timeframe.
They teach that swimming is fun! When learning new skills, it is ok to be hesitant or scared. But they empower the little ones through their patience and reassuring, and firm words.
If you want your child to learn to swim in a day, this is not for you. But if you want your child to foster a love and respect for the pool, this is for you. Believe me, we have had some rough lessons, but it has been worth it. Both of our children love the water, but understand the boundaries of the pool so they don't jump into every pool they see. But if they did fall in, they would be able to float and get to the side of the pool and "monkey walk, monkey walk in the swimming pool" to the steps.

Had a unpleasant experience with this swimming school, I enrolled my six years old son who’s been swimming for about 2 years so he could learn proper strokes, talked to the owner over the phone and she said they would test him in class and never did she say something about their classes being for toddlers but she already charged my card the 60 dollars anual fee and 4 classes totaling 160 dollars. Once there the class was indeed for toddlers my son was totally uncomfortable, even though he’s a good swimmer he has a hard time floating because water gets in his ears, the instructor never took her time to ask him about that, they decided he needed to go back to survival class. I understand that in that school they can’t teach your child if he doesn’t fit in with their methods, so as I was not looking for survival classes I called to cancel because it’s definitely not a good fit for us and to my surprise they only refunded me 18 dollars. I’m very disappointed with their lack of consideration, what I would expect from any business is understanding their customers needs and if they can’t attend that at least give a fair refund. In the end I spent 140 dollars for a 30 minutes class. I don’t recommend this school.
Update: after writing these review the owner called me and she refuses to refund me the yearly fee I paid and I’m not using, what matters to them is taking your money, consumers satisfaction is secondary. If could give less than one star I would.
Update number 2: not being clear about the class you offer being directed to a certain age group before you even start and lying about not having any notice of cancellation is dishonesty, I tried calling many times starting the very next day, they don’t pick up the phone so I left voicemails. Keeping my money even after I stated we’re absolutely not coming back is a ripoff. For any one considering this school just be aware that if for any reason after your first class your child doesn’t adapt or you are not satisfied with their services they will keep your money regardless.

Can’t say enough great things about this program! We really appreciate the great communication, constant productive feedback from the teachers, and the positive environment.
We’ve previously done swim lessons with our daughter with another program and the experience we’ve had at Little British Swim School has been night and day. Their well-thought out and organized system gave us the confidence we needed to try swim lessons again! Our kids started at British swim school at ages 5 months and 19 months. The teachers have been great with both ages despite the developmental gap being so huge between both kids.
Thanks for your dedication to the “survival of the littlest”!!!

The female instructor obviously doesn’t like my kid and didn’t treat my kid well. I’m not blind so I can see the impatience and hate on her face. If this is your attitude to your student, I’d better waste my money elsewhere.
