As an adult learner, it was the best decision I've made to come to British Swim school in facing my fears. I leave each class excited for the next one. Thank you, instructors, for your patience, care, and understanding as you taught me to become brave while I learned.

Mario is a miracle worker. I am 71 and never learned how to swim. After 6 lessons I can swim on my back and have completed the first phase known as swim and roll which is the first phase to learn how to swim freestyle.

There is one word to sum up this company: incompetence!
I should have read the reviews before registering my son there.
To begin with, the facility at 2084 University Drive–where the little ones are assigned to–is decrepit, out of maintenance, and smells like mold inside. Despite this, I gave it a chance. However, this location is literally run by teenagers with no supervision, including the instructors. The instructor my son had took her bad mood on him, almost let him drown because she was frustrated with him and then scolded him for about five minutes non-stop because he was moving his legs kicking while sitting at the edge of the pool waiting for his turn. To put things in context, my son is 3 years old. When it was his turn, she let him swim back to the edge–as they always do, and when she realized he wasn’t making it and visibly swallowing water, she did NOTHING. Yes, you read correctly, she did nothing until I stood up (I was inside looking through the glass) then she proceeded to help him. When the class ended, instead of letting him have his five minutes of play time as usual, she decided to scold him because he was previously kicking. I approached her and she said, “why is he not responding”? “He can’t talk”? And I explained to her that he actually has a speech delay and he won’t respond when he gets nervous which he obviously was. She continued scolding him which made me think she might have had a hearing problem at this point of she was so fixated on taking her bad mood on him that she didn’t care what I told her that he has a speech delay.
Needless to say, after this class I wanted to cancel his membership. I called several times to no avail until I was able to reach an employee. She apologized for what happened and told me she had canceled his membership and I had nothing to worry about. To my surprise, a week later, they charged me $200.00 as if I had never canceled. I started calling again and spoke with several people who couldn’t help me. Then I spoke with one of the owners, Nicole, and she told me that corporate wouldn't refund the money to her so she would not refund the money to me, because whoever had canceled it when I called didn't do it right. So not only I had to see how my son was mistreated by a stranger but then I had to gift the company $200.00 for classes which I will NEVER USE because they don’t know how to train their employees, not only the instructors but also the employees who deal with billing. Nicole said that I should stay because they are doing so many changes, great start Nicole, ripping off clients is good for a change. Disappointment is an understatement. Do not trust your children to these inefficient people nor trust them with your credit card unless you want to be scammed!
And please don't bother on writing an apology to this post pretending you care unless you want to refund my money back, which the company stole from me.

About 10 days ago I called to inquire about my son trying an introductory swimming class. I was told by the gentleman that picked up that I could bring in my son that following Tuesday and that the cost of the introductory class would be $37. That Tuesday I stopped by with my wife and son and the school was closed. I stopped by today and sat down with a lady who informed me that she could not offer my son an introductory class because it would be a waste of time for her, her instructor, and my son. In order to move forward I would need to sign up for a series of classes and that the cost would be $200. I felt that the way she spoke to me was so arrogant and disrespectful that I would never entrust her with the care of my son.

We had my son’s 6th birthday party here and it was amazing. The staff was great, the price for the party was very reasonable. All of my children have birthdays during hurricane season, and knowing that weather didn’t play a role in whether we would enjoy his special day, made a world of difference. And the pool is heated perfectly! My eldest son, who is eight, often gets cold and starts shivering at pools that aren’t heated. He enjoyed the entire time. Thank you guys, so much for making my son’s day special!

Place us top notch. Several locations but I'm close to the Sunrise and University location. Instructors are great and patient with my girls and all children. Classes are not too crowded, so the kids get that 1 on 1 time still.

I write this review in hopes that I will spare other families a terrible experience at British Swim School. My kids have been taking classes in this place for more than a year and there seems to be little to no improvement in their swiming skills. They change the teachers constantly, which is an issue because most children need consistency to become comfortable in the water -- something this swim school does not prioritize. After so many classes, my son was told in the last class that he passed to the next level. He was so excited and happy for his accomplishment. But that did not last long. Shortly after, another teacher told him that he didn't pass and he will therefore need to stay in the same level for the next class. I inquired as to why he would now not be allowed to go to the next level, and I was told that it was because the teacher had forgotten to test him on the free style and he needed to pass that before moving forward. I asked them to please test him on that part so that he could move to the next level in the next class and the answer was a resounding NO. I repeatedly asked to re-dress him and just give him that one test but again the answer was NO WE CANNOT DO THAT. My son was so excited and proud to have been told earlier that he had achieved going to the next level, that you can imagine my heart broke in a thousand pieces seeing his face change to disappointment when he was told he could not move after all. I tried to call the office many times after that and was not able to reach anyone. Three days later I got a call from the owner who basically projected the conversation as if it was my fault. He was very rude and abrupt and did not even let me explain why I was upset about what happened. He proceeded to lose his temper, yelled at me several times as I was trying to explain what occurred and then finally he hung up on me. That same evening, I went to the school and the same teacher who had told me my son could not move to the next level was there. I asked to drop my kids from the program and for the next month’s fee to be reimbursed since I was not going to continue. She again gave me a “robotic” answer as if she was reading from a book – “we can’t do that”. Needless to say, my main concern was my son’s feelings and how hurt he was to have been told one minute he had made it to the next level and the next minute that he had not. That affects a child’s confidence tremendously, particularly at the age of 6! A business geared towards children should not have reacted in that manner, and should have tried to resolve the situation in a better way. I will never bring my children to any of their establishments and wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.

Don't waste your valuable time or money on this place. They changed the location for the classes 3 times and they constantly changed the instructor, some days the classes was one thing and other days the technique was somethig different. British Swim School was a total disappointment. The owner called my wife and was very rude and he didn't even let her explain her concerd regarding an incident that my son had. They refused to give us a refund and also insisted to go for another month or leave my money for future classes. As other people said ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

Awesome! Awesome! My first experience at the Sunrise location was 12 years ago with my first born daughter. Mr.Rubinel was her instructor then and my second daughter now attends with Mr.Rubinel . I was so thrilled to know he is still the instructor after all these years ; He’s patient ,experienced, loving, firm and most importantly makes the children feel comfortable in the water as they are learning life saving lessons. THE BEST INSTRUCTOR and great customer service from Angie. She’s always flexible and accommodating to when I need to switch classes when needed.

My daughter has been coming to this swim school since she was 6 months old. The staff is very friendly and the teachers great. I have been accommodated every time I needed to switch class.
I am very happy with all the teachers and their teaching method with babies and children. I also like the fact that the water is pretty warm and not so full of chlorine, if I'm right it should be salt water or a mix. I have been to other swimming pools where they offer classes for babies and my skin was burning for the amount of chlorine in the water. I can't imagine how my baby delicate skin felt 😥
The pool is small and intimate, over all it is very nice, especially since they painted and renovated it.
I wish they had more showers, some hanging hooks by the shower, and the changing station/areas had some space to accommodate more than two babies and their belongings (shelves and counters where we can leave the swim bag, dry clothes, towels etc. while we take the class with our child, and while we shower get dressed).
I am so glad we have this swim school ad a reachable distance. I really reccomend thanking your babies and children to swimming classes here!

I have been really impressed with the British Swim School. All of the instructors are awesome and have been really supportive of my daughter. They helped her get over her fear of water and now she is finally enjoying swimming. The boost to her confidence and self esteem is something I contribute 100% to the team at the British Swim School.
I also want to give special recognition to swimming instructor Kaylin. During a swimming session, I watched Kaylin instructing a child with special needs. The patience and attention she gave to the child was something I was extremely impressed with, it went beyond what you normally find in customer service and truly speaks to the character of the staff at the British Swim School.
I would certainly recommend you give the British Swim School a chance even if your child can swim, the techniques they are teaching can last a life time, and range from basic survival to competitive swimming. Overall, I am definitely happy with the choice I made!

I have nothing but positive things to say about this swim school. After using several other programs and facilities I brought both of my toddlers to BSS on the recommendation of my neighbor. I walked into the office on a random afternoon and the director took her time to get to know my childrens’ needs and place them in the appropriate classes. She also thoroughly explained the program and policies and gave me a walkthrough of the location. I am at the school twice a week and in the six weeks we have been enrolled, I have seen pool maintenance people there countless times measuring the chlorine levels and ensuring that the pool is in tip top condition. Saturday mornings are busy but there is always fresh coffee and the owner is around to chat and make sure parents and students alike are content. My kiddos have progressed so much over the last month and absolutely love their instructor, Caitlyn. We have had a couple of makeups due to my kids being ill and I must say that the other instructors are also very personable and effective with my children. I’m so glad we found British Swim School for our family.

We have been very loyal clients to the British Swim School for many months and love the program. The instructors are very dedicated and the Manager at the front desk Clawens is extremely helpful. The owner Martin is very down to earth and personable. He takes his time to get to know the children and their parents which is quite comforting.Today as a matter of fact my son likes to be rewarded with a lollipop after class and Martin ran to the store to get a bag since they were running low..now that is customer service. We are very happy to be here.

The owner is rude and hung up telling me he had no time to deal with me and he will call me tomorrow .. Are you serious?? All because I had a question about billing that I was not informed about upon enrollment... He lost his temper and yelled at me and then hung up the phone. You do not treat paying customers that way his excuse is that he had a migraine... Really so I have to let you yell at me and then hang up because you have a migraine and do not have time for my questions... He talks over you when you ask valid legitimate questions over the charges and the program... I am deeply concerned about his short temper because this is a program for small children and you cannot have temper issues and get to that level of anger when being around children. Is very scary I will be taking my kids out of this program. Do not go there.. I noticed all the other poor comments as I was writing my review of this horrible experience. I should have researched this place before entering my kids.. when the previous owners were there it was a nice facility.

My 4yo daughter had a traumatic experience in another swimming academy, when we got into British Sunrise, we were skeptical, the very first 3 classes she was crying, hearing her saying to the teacher please don't let me drown, don't let go, with a terror face. Starting the 4th class she start gaining a trust relationships with the teacher, today 3 months later, We are happy to see our daughter jumping into the pool, rollover into her back, and do back strokes swimming to the edge all by herself without assistance and with confidence. Looking forward to see her learning more swimming techniques. Great School, Great Teachers, Thank you Rubinel 👍

Every time I took my kid there, they used to get sick right after, like fever, glue like symptoms and even vomiting. The minister of health should visit this place...I asked the management numerous times to sanitize the air and all the toys and chairs etc but they didn't do anything. Also air conditioning didn't work for weeks. Also you pay like $100 for 4 half hour sessions a month, but they put 4-5 kids in a class so you're kid is not getting more than 7 minutes of actual study a week- its a theft. You better off paying a private instructor in a clean pool somewhere else. I took my kid out..

My four year old daughter has been attending classes at the Sunrise location since she was about 14 months old. She has learned everything from floating on her back to the butterfly and breast strokes. For her third birthday, I had her party at the school and it was a huge hit with her and all her friends. The instructors and the staff have always been friendly, professional and very accomodating. Recently, I wrote an e-mail to the corporate office expressing some dissatisfaction with a minor issue in the change of the facility and less than 24 hours later I recevied a personal phone call resolving the matter. I unequivocally recommend the British Swim school.
