Hi! I'm Clare, a Pilates instructor with a professional background in Physiotherapy.
I teach weekly group Mat Pilates Classes at Solely Therapeutic Massage Studio and I teach Private and Duet Equipment Pilates at my Home Studio.
I Specialised in Sports, Rehab, Prenatal and Postpartum Pilates.
I gained my Pilates training through the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and have taught Mat and Equipment based Pilates since 2010 in both the clinical and fitness studio setting. I have a particular passion for teaching Prenatal and Postnatal women following on from my experience treating women’s health physiotherapy clients and since becoming a mother myself to two young children.

Taking pilates classes with Clare is one of the best decisions I have made for my health--I look forward to every class. Clare is kind, compassionate, and supportive. Her classes are well-planned, with great variety and a bit of humor to make sure you are paying attention. I worked with Clare after years of struggling with a shoulder injury (torn labrum) that had kept me from being as active as I wanted to be. I’d actually never tried Pilates before, but realized pretty quickly it was a great way to rehab an injury. Clare brings advanced knowledge in the rehab/physio space to the table, but makes it all easy to understand & apply in her sessions. She took the time to send thoughtful follow up notes to keep me moving in the right direction, & had a genuine interest in getting me back to full strength. Her studio is clean, organized & state of the art, & she’s a great person. Highly recommend.

I was recommended to her by my pelvic floor physical therapist during pregnancy, and omg I’m so glad to be connected! She has been helping educate me as well as feeling so strong in our sessions together! I always feel challenged & leave feeling like I got a great workout in. I trust every way she pushes me because she also has a background as being a physical therapist herself!!! She is always checking in with me too throughout each sessions asking if I’d want more or less weight or challenge depending on how I feel each time. It’s such a custom experience, she is always so thoughtful, she is truly passionate and cares so much for her clients, and is so kind and upbeat and fun too! I’ve learned so much about my body in pregnancy from her & definitely feel a big difference going to her! It’s one of the best things I’m doing for myself in pregnancy, is going to her specifically!!! I don’t think there is anyone like her! I can’t recommend her more highly!!

Claire is an incredible teacher who truly tailors each session to help you reach your goals. She’s been working with me on chronic pain and mobility issues, and at the same time, helping me improve my golf game. Just a few months in, I’ve already noticed major improvements. Clare is such an amazing instructor! She is the best with modification and helping you be in correct posture in order to get stronger without injury. I struggle with lower back pain and her style supports working through that without feeling pain and working the right muscles with each exercise. I jokingly call Clare my “unicorn”, but the truth is - I’m not joking at all! I was on the hunt for a Pilates instructor who had a physical therapy background AND also specialized in pre and post natal Pilates. And I found her! For someone who is recovering from 20 plus years of chronic pain and wasn’t able to workout for 2 years Clare’s pilates classes are perfect for getting my strength back. I love and appreciate how she’ll come around to check our form. I’ve been to so many classes where that does not happen and if needed, she will tell us personally how we can make adjustments if we have pain or if an exercise is uncomfortable. ❤️

If you want the best Pilates class, instructor, and core of your life, it’s best you come in and give Clare a try. A friend of mine referred me to her and after completing a 6 week block I was hooked. Clare is so helpful. She truly cares and watches her clients for proper form and if necessary she will correct you mid-workout to ensure that you’re working the proper muscles. Her cues are so on point and helpful during the workout. Her classes have been a blessing to my weekly strength training routine. I’m so happy I found her. I wouldn’t dare miss a week without Pilates.

I found Clares pilates classes through my pelvic floor therapist Dr. Kate at the hope Doctors. I've had multiple abdominal surgeries in the last five years (including 2 c-sections) and I continue to need guided direction on re-gaining my strength, especially more core area. Clare's classes are wonderful because she takes care of each person in the class ensuring you are executing the exercises accurately while also modifying to your level and ability. I've been going to Clares classes for over a year and will continue to keep her pilates classes as part of my weekly exercise. I took the prenatal pilates classes. This is my first pregnancy, and the pilates have really helped to make it a joyful experience. Clare has a tonne of knowledge, and even in a group class, she caters exercises to each individual's needs. Highly recommend, especially for pregnant or recently pregnant women!

I’ve been working with Clare on the reformer and can’t say enough good things! Because of her training as a physical therapist, she is so knowledgeable about the body and notices things about my form, movement etc. that I would never even know to look for. She tailors my workouts based on my individual goals and makes adjustments specific to my body and abilities. I was intimidated at first but she immediately put me at ease and has made it such a pleasant experience!

Clare is excellent! I have done two classes and I’m excited to be signing up for a package. The biggest differentiator for the group classes is that it feels very personalized. With her background in physical therapy, Clare is very cognizant of which exercises will be appropriate for each person in the class- and works with you to find the right level and adjustments to get the most out of each move. Clare is an exceptional Pilates instructor, her teaching style includes lots of visualization techniques which are key! I started with Clare's prenatal classes which helped prepare me for my awesome home birth and now I am taking her postnatal classes with my babe at my side, which is a lifesaver. Plus I am learning how to juggle baby while taking care of myself! It's an art and Clare is a pro. I am looking forward to these 6 weeks to see some improvement in my pelvic floor, I am already feeling less back pain and more mobility after just two classes. Roll and Release class at Ca Home Pilates is the best! Trigger point release can be challenging at times but Clare brings you back to your breathe, describes an image to follow or talks about how your muscles interact so you can relax into the release. No two Roll and Release classes are the same. Clare takes suggestions from the class and adds to it for a relaxing experience. We use the foam roller, tennis balls, spiky balls and the “nose”. Stretches before and after a release are a nice example of the positive muscle response. Clare is there to instruct and assist you to get the most benefit from a fun and relaxing Roll and Release class.

Clare ‘s way of teaching on the mat and on the reformer has been so wonderful! Even in small group classes, she makes adjustments and meets each student where they are. She is always prepared with props for the group and keeps a nice pace in class. Clare is a Pilates instructor who is the perfect combination of kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring.
Her experience as a physio helps immensely as she can describe how targeting each muscle individually will influence the whole body. You can always trust her knowledge of how your unique body moves and how it can improve with simple movements.
Her cues to get you to understand how to hold each pose are priceless, "Pretend you have drinks on your hips and you will spill them if you're unbalanced": you won't risk spilling those drinks, y'all!

Clare is an excellent instructor. Her knowledge of human anatomy and movement makes her instruction crystal clear. She’s always mixing it up so boredom is not an option. I’m guessing, but I think she has about 50 exercises to work the glutes!
I've been a client of Clare's for 4 years and I am stronger, healthier, and more capable in daily activities and in all that fun stuff- long hikes and kayaking and swimming- thanks to her focus on core work and building strength. Best instructor ever! I highly recommend Ca Home Pilates. Clare is the best fitness instructor I have encountered. She is encouraging, clear, offers modifications and tips, and customizes every workout to your individual goals. I log on virtually for her classes from across the country because they are excellent. She has a wonderful virtual set up-you can see and hear her clearly (plus visualize some beautiful ocean side backgrounds during her outdoor classes) and she provides individual feedback on your technique which I did not receive when I took virtual classes elsewhere. I have felt stronger, more flexible and have more energy after taking her classes. I was nervous to try a pilates class but she is so supportive. You can't help but enjoy yourself the entire time. She also provides lots of modifications so you can get the most out of her classes at any level. The classes are very affordable and you will fall in love with pilates like I did.
