The front desk staff seemed kind of rude. Not the guy with the long hair, he was nice and was doing check ins around the gym. The other dude at the front desk just seemed like he didn’t want to be at work, and wasn’t much of welcoming especially since this was my first time visiting chuze. I was kinda confused on the process and he just seemed kind of arrogant like I’m suppose to know how everything works. Don’t know if I’m wanting to come back or not. He just seemed very judgmental and like you were bothering him if you even talked to him. Even told bro to have a good day when I was leaving & he just ignored me… terrible front desk service.

I love this location and have been coming here since I was 13 and I am now 38. This gym's layout is open and comfortable and everyone I have ever met in here has been as friendly as can be. Unfortunately I just found out this location will be closing which is sad to hear as there is equipment in there not found at any other Chuze. I live across from the Monument location and cannot stand it's claustrophic, over crowded and unclean feel. If the Merrill location is closing then unfortunately I will be looking into LA Fitness and Crunch Fitness for another nearby gym option. :(

This location and the one on Monument are both shutting down in November. One of the managers let it slip but told me not to say anything because they don’t want word getting out yet. Super shady. They’re just milking every last dollar from people before closing for good on November 15th. No heads-up, no transparency—just quietly dipping out.

The Merrill road gym stands out from other Chuze locations. John and Taonya who work there are friendly, professional, and motivating. They set an excellent example of customer service.

Unlike many gyms, the equipment at this location is consistently clean, well maintained and in working order. The gym is not the newest or biggest, but I would choose it any day for the reasons above.

I've actually never been inside a gym that had a shoes on at all times policy. Not once in the last 10 years has anyone ever told me to put my shoes back on, even at other Chuze locations. I've been barefoot every time ive gone into the Monument location and no one's ever bothered me about it. Nowhere on the Chzue website gym rules does it say that your shoes need to be on it at all times, so obviously it's just this location being weird and difficult. For a disabled person thats more comfortable barefoot, you could do better instead of making up your own rules and adding signs after because you're on some weird power trip.

I subscribed with the promotion of 15.99/ month. Now I am being charged double and the clerk says that I told him that I wanted different plan. I has specific that I wanted the 15.99. Deceptive practices are being encouraged. Demand paperwork affirming your choice. Beware of deceptive practices, since these appear to be encouraged. BEWARE it is your money. The website says the pricing is legit, however, my bank says it is not.

Canceled my membership here after only 3 months. This gym is alright nothing special, very antique with basic amenities (one of the less attractive Bailey’s gym in the Jacksonville area). I liked the 24/7 feature which kept me coming here, but today an interaction with the manager on staff made me cancel my membership on the spot and I am left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I am an hard working aspiring athlete and had a once in a lifetime memorable moment that I needed to capture for my business page and my business social media. I knew it may not be possible, but I had hope since I was the only one in the gym that Sunday (wouldn’t violate anyone privacy rights) I just hoped that the gym has access to the camera footage. I had the date and time, however after talking with a manager on staff we never even got this far in the conversation to discuss this. First off, it was hard getting in touch with the manager to begin with. I showed up during business hours during the next 2 consecutive days, speaking with staff leaving my name and number hearing that they would reach out to me which was not the case. Today I was finally able to meet the manager AJ, telling my story and receiving a cold shoulder (inability to understand my customer needs, dismissive communication approach) I just felt like a bother and like a nuisance instead of a paying customer. All I got was “this cannot be done” and not much more really. I was respectful throughout the conversation however and decided to cancel my membership and an additional frustration was added on top of the situation when the manager would not even drop the $50 cancelation fee for me in this case. I requested a customer service number and did not receive one and can not find one on the company website and do not know who to contact about my problem. I could have walked away an extremely happy customer or at least understanding the situation a little bit more why my most memorable moment could not be captured. An incredible opportunity to provide an excellent customer experience to a paying customer was given to Bailey’s gym and completely disregarded. I find it ironic how Bailey’s gym will encourage you to help them with their social media growth, but they would not do that same for you. Never wrote a Google review in my life but something just felt wrong about this situation and for now on I will be looking for a new gym to be a part of and join. Hopefully this review will be read and listened to and Bailey’s improves their customer service from this lesson.

If you wanna be bound by a contract for the next year or 2, And forget about trying to cancel the contract. Even with a 2 week notice and giving them evidence that you either moved out of town are a medical reason for not continuing your journey with this gym. It is a lot of drama.Trust me when I tell you this..If your not turned off by this, I guess this would be a good place for you. I would not recommend this place due to their customer service. I've been working out for decades. This is a decent good gym for the size, good equipment, facilities are well kept and clean.

My wife used to go to the morning cycle classes... but this location decided to remove that room and turn it into a turf room that is almost always empty ( and requires a more expensive membership) She ended up cancelling her membership because she only liked the classes.

The turf room was a stupid idea for this location. I wish the gym just had double the amount of machines or an area of stretching that wasn't directly in front of the fire escape in between the locker rooms... a proper spot to stretch before using the gym should not require a higher membership...

I've been coming here since it was Powerhouse. Over the years I've been able to meet many people. The equipment has changed some as well. I like the cables, free weights, and the machines, as well. I've tried other locations, but Merrill Rd. is home. I try to go 4 or 5 times a week. On the weekends I can get there 3 or 4 in the morning when it'snot as busy.. I hope that this helpful for someone who may be interested in getting in shape or just maintaining.

This location has the best leg press. It is hapaed in a way that the foot t is not bent forward or hyper extended forward but is at a 90 degree angle, putting less strain on the foot and ankle and working the muscle more.

Bailey Gym at Merrill Road sounds like a great place to work out and achieve my fitness goals. It's always motivating to be surrounded by a supportive community. Ian and Nelson are great staff members who are dedicated to helping customers achieve their physical goals. It's great that they provided you with information on supplements and better ways to use each piece of equipment. The cleaning staff's respectful behavior is also commendable. It's nice to hear that I consider this place as my home gym, and the customers there are respectful towards each other. 10/10 :)

I’m always so shocked to find out how much individuals truly don’t care about their jobs & they get paid to provide customers a service. Every time I go in, the front desk agents are rude & have no time management skills. I called today to ask about a double charge on my account & the guy that answer sounded like he didn’t want to be there. I had to repeat my last name 3 times for him to only get the first 3 letters. Then after everything was settled I said “thank you have a nice day” & he just hangs up in my face. Never said his name, if I had any other questions, or any friendly mannerisms. Spoke with manager about cancelling my membership due to finding out news that I have Colon Cancer and was not in good health and he reassured me it would be handled and my membership would be cancelled and no additional cost to my account , I moved to Orlando to be with family and that was in 2021 and here it is 4/1/22 and received a bill that my account was being sent to collections for almost a 1,000 !!!!! I do not recommend this gym as they seem to be scamming people out of money

He handled my wife’s membership - there was a line, he took my wife through the paperwork, talked to us and was friendly.. he managed to service us and handle every one else with ease. Impossible to cancel my membership. I am a disable veteran with back issues. I went there with a doctors note whixh is 1 of the 2 requirements to cancel my membership, and they still found a way for to keep me in the 2 year contract. Oh yeah, covid happened 3 months after i started my membership, so for months to nearly a year i was getting charged for a gym i cant go to and cant physically parricipate in.

Giving me the hardest time canceling my membership after my doctor wrote a personal note on my behalf. Told me the note was not sufficient and a form (created by the gym) needs to be completed by my physician instead.
In the meantime they are charging late fees each month while I attempt to get THEIR form completed by my physician- which is beyond my control. I regret joining this inadequate gym. DO NOT get caught up in a contract with these crooks.

After years of being a member at this gym today i sadly decide to go elsewhere.. i went back to the gym today and tried to join back because my membership was canceled in the middle of the pandemic. I was told that i had to pay $230 if i wanted to be a member again.. i asked if there were something they could do because thats a lot of money and i did not canceled the membership the gym did because of an issue with my card. I did received a letter and went by the gym twice to find it closed. I hope management understeand that because the virus pandemic there were issues outside of the control of the members and more important that a gym membership. I did what i could do as of going back and even try to talk to a manager, the guy at the front told me he was "the" manager while wearing an "assistan" name tag.. also asked for a number to speak to corporate maybe i can explain myself and corporate could wave a few fees in order to help return my membership and he said he can give it to me but they will tell me the same thing.. this are not times to be loosing customers.. specially someone whos been there for years.. luckily for me they just opened a new planet fitness near by and they are happy to have me. I would give no stars if I could. Between being assaulted on numerous occasions by the "trainers" but when speaking with corporate and the "regional manager" Stan, I was told because it was a contract employee (whose office is located inside of this gym) and it wasn't technically a Baileys employee there was nothing they could do about the harassment. I am talking extremely inappropriate, unprofessional remarks on my body, my childhood, and things of that nature...

I said fine and quit going to the gym so I wouldn't be subjected to that and just let them charge my card each month. About a year has passed since then, I've paid close to $500 and not used it ever since last year when this happened. Totally fine until a year later like I said my mother has become terminally ill and I've had to relocate to North Carolina to help her as she prepares for a possible transplant. I've gotten all my affairs straightened out, except Baileys, who advised a certified letter from my financial institution indicating I have relocated is insufficient and now is asking for a letter from my job to confirm that my mother is truly sick and I have relocated. My job has been accommodating and let me work from home and I am not going to ask them for a letter, all things considered, if they can prove that my mother truly is sick and I am in NC. I could but this is so embarrassing and painful enough. I own my house and my car and the only other option they told me was to put my mother's bills into my name. Counter productive considering I'm trying to eliminate this bill and will not be putting other peoples bills into my name just for a stupid gym membership.

After trying to discuss all of the above I have not been assisted once by anyone who cares, which is fine, so I cancelled my card and they can send me to collections. I have an 800 credit score and with owning everything I need at the present time, don't really care much if it drops a few points.

Baileys, you do not foster a safe environment, especially for young hispanic women. Thanks a lot for wasting my time and money and not holding your employees accountable.
