I just want to say how great this gym is. I'm in town visiting family and I called three other gems and they were nice to me too, but I wanted to come in super early within the 24-hour gym hours. No one would do it except coastal family. The equipment is super clean , advanced and everything is put back into place. The owner stopped in when I was wrapping up my workout and greeted me as well. If you're in the area to work out you have to come here or if you live in the area you need to join this gym.

Gym is clean, and well equipped, and not overcrowded! A variety of: machines, attachments for cable machines, Squat racks, Smith machines, Sled/turf area, and dumbbells up to +- 140lbs (very uncommon around here). Staff is friendly, price is right, and the Owner Ed is a generous, and stand-up guy! Heard they'll have a sauna soonish' too, looking forward to that, especially pre-workout during the cooler months.

Best Gym In Clearwater-

Coastal Family Fitness is the best gym for people in the Clearwater Area. Whether you're a casual gym-goer, or a daily lifter, coastal is going to suit your needs. You can see in the pictures, they have all the equipment you'll need to lift weights, do cardio, or attend group fitness classes. Ed, the owner, is a personable guy who takes care of his members, and has helped me out on multiple occasions. Just on Saturday, he remotely gained me access when I couldn't get in during unstaffed hours. Stuart and Jonny are also good guys who will help you out when you need something. I like the fact that no matter when I go, I never have trouble with the gym being crowded, or not being able to get on a machine I want. Even on a weekday at 5, there's never more than 10 or 15 people in the gym. Something you can't say if you drive down to Gulf to Bay and go to LA Fitness or even Esporta or UFC Gym right down the road. Plus, the gym is 24/7, so no matter what schedule you have, you'll easily be able to get your workout done here.

If you're considering where you'll get a gym membership, I highly recommend that you stop in and give Coastal a try.

I had the chance to work out at Coastal Family Gym in Clearwater for three weeks, and I honestly loved every visit. The gym is super clean, well-maintained, and has all the equipment you could possibly need—whether you're into lifting, cardio, or functional training. Would love a hack squat as i can't do regular squat because of a hernia but can easily work around that.

One of the standout parts of my experience was the atmosphere. It’s welcoming, never too crowded, and just has a great community vibe. A special shoutout to Stuart, who works in the mornings—he's incredibly kind, always helpful, and makes everyone feel right at home.

You can tell the staff genuinely care—they keep the place spotless and the energy positive. Whether you’re a local or just in town for a bit, I highly recommend Coastal Family Gym without hesitation. This place makes it easy to stay motivated!

This is one of the best gyms I have ever been to and by far my favorite since moving to Florida. The staff is incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help me get a new membership squared away. I asked if they recently got new equipment, because of how nice everything was - but they just take care of their gym and it shows. I haven’t been this comfortable in a gym in a long time, other members are so respectful and gym etiquette is upheld by all. And to top it off, when classes aren’t in session I have a secluded spot to practice posing. Kudos to Stuart and the team that runs this place, they’ve created a great environment and I’m so thankful to have found them.

I don't even have a membership in this Gold's Gym and I'm one starring them because an employee, "Robert" keeps harassing me via text insisting I call in and update my billing information. I've asked him MULTIPLE times to stop messaging my number! I'm not even part of this gym and they're annoying me to death imagine what they do to members.

What a gym! I have worked out at many gyms across the world, and this one is one of the best. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, it wasn't crowded at all, so you never had to wait for a machine. But most importantly this gym had some of the best etiquette I've ever seen. Everyone was so polite, they all put their weights away, and clean up after themselves.

As a once member of Golds gym this gym does not meet the typical standards of a Golds Gym. There are no showers and is tight on room with the equipment. They do have at least one of almost all gym equipment though. This gym is great for people that live in Clearwater, but for anyone traveling through it lacks most necessities a gym would typically have elsewhere.

I’m not a member because the location isn’t convenient for me (I travel a lot), but I really like everything about this gym and happens to live close, so every once in a while I like to treat myself and text Ed for a day pass, I send my credit card info and he unlocks the door remotely.

The best part about this gym is that it’s not an LA Fitness or a Planet Fitness. There is no waiting for machines. There is no obnoxious high school kids coming making a scene and not reracking their weights. There are no ego-lifters throwing dumbbells around because they can’t control their weight. This is a truly peaceful place where you can go workout for an hour and really enjoy it. For me, it really is a special treat to drive past my big box gym to go get a real workout at one of Ed’s gyms.

I was very impressed with the gym, its a great gym for anyone but specifically for someone looking for a friendly non-threatening atmosphere and a bit of guidance on equipment. I thought Stuart (general manager) did a great job in helping those who are unfamiliar with the equipment and were new to using weights to build strength in later years. Great gym if you want to workout late. You'll see the same familiar faces at night when you go which makes me feel comfortable. Lots of space to workout without anyone bothering you. Was only a member for a short time due to having to move, but would def recommend. New to FL and I access this gym through my employer provided classpass. Stu and Ed are awesome. They make everyone feel welcomed and go the extra mile to help their patrons out.

Clean gym. Well kept. Has everything you need. All the folks who are customers are also cool. Made some good friends there. Everyone is in it to get in better shape.

I would highly recommend this Gold's. I was a member at a couple in NYC and they weren't as well kept as this one.

Even if my employer stops providing classpass monthly credits, I'd still join and pay for a membership. Can we get a dedicated T-Bar row station? :)

I checked out numerous gyms in Clearwater and chose Golds even though 2 gyms were much closer. Extensive equipment choices including free weights, dumbbells, nautilus type lifting machines as well as a large mat area for stretching/ pilates type work. Various cardio machines and 24 hour access. Spacious and about 8-10 people there between 7-9am.

Great facility - not too big and not too small, and you're not paying for a lot of things like racquetball courts, a basketball court, and a swimming pool that I don't want anyway (like LA Fitness). It's one of the less expensive larger gyms in the area, and it has 24-hour access (unlike LA Fitness, for example). And, best of all, is its common-sense Covid mask policy.

I've been visiting the Largo location for the past 3 or so years when vacationing. Owner and manager are friendly, caring, and laid back. Although a new location it is still clean and tidy with new equipment. An emphasis is placed on hygiene among gym goers, so it is a good place to visit right now! Although it's still under some construction, I love really love the energy and atmosphere in here. Almost everyone who comes here is consistent and there to take care of business. Is not 24 hours. I signed up to this gym when it was 24 hours. They moved with little notice and there is no word on when it will be 24 hours. The guy who signed me up months ago recently told me they might not even be 24 hours. I've been upset with this gym ever since they moved. The reason i signed up was because I like to show up after midnight. I wouldn't recommend because they might leave without notice. I really want my money back but I bet I will be penalized for breaking contract.

From the moment my husband and I walked into Gold's Gym Clearwater (Largo), we felt like we had come home. Nanci greeted us and signed us up. Manager Stuart is one of the greatest guys we met. The golds gym in largo that just moved locations is HORRIBLE. The place has not be fully set up and it’s almost been a month or two. No tvs. No key pad to get in when no one is there. Half the equipment is not set up. They keep telling me I have to talk to Stuart to cancel who is never there. They have employees who say they are upper management and are not. I’m already starting my reviews on google, yelp, Facebook and any where else I can post a review about this now HORRIBLE gym. If you don’t know what’s going on over there you need to look into it and there are bums living in the back of the location. So women really need to watch out. Update to review. The owner has threatened me with legal action.

Ed did try to make things right still upset with them about being threatened, which he never said sorry for also degrading my bf character since he used “God” in his email now and that was no way to do business. So glad we are out of that gym! Plus he mentioned in his email the electrician is working on the tvs and treadmills and key access. So much for a fake review!

I have never met a more kind and caring group of individuals at a gym.

Stu and Nanci, the manager and assistant manager respectively, have gone the extra mile for my friend that has a disability called Spinocerebellar Ataxia.

He has gone to many gyms in the past and has never received the love and support that comes from this gym.

Not only do they allow me to workout with my friend for free at times, but they also assist him with everything he needs while at the gym.

Recently my friend ran into an issue outside of the gym. When Stu and Nancy heard about it they gave me a call to see what they could do to help. They then stepped into action to help my friend with his issues that had nothing to do with the gym or even working out.

I am extremely grateful for this as I live in California now and was not able to be there for my friend when he needed it most.

Great owners and staff. Very clean and lots of equipment. I have had terrible bouts with back and joint pain. I have been to physical therapy, chiropractor's had numerous steroid injections into my back and lots of oral medication. I was told the only relief would come from back surgery from my surgeon. I explained this to the owner and he introduced me to his personal trainer Greg. I have been working with him now for a few weeks and I am finally starting to get some relief. I will continue to work with him and hopefully become pain free. I wish I did this years ago.

My favorite gym I've been too, hands down! I'm moving to Texas and honestly I'll probably miss this gym more than anything else about living here. Canceled my daughter's membership paid the fee that was required and they now are blowing up her text messages that she owes more can GOLD'S get it together this a minor you are doing this to. I will see legal recourse for harassment. Do ever get a membership it is a nightmare to canceled!!!!!!!!

Got a week pass for $40, would definitely go here if youre visiting. Bring a sweat towel or youll have to buy one.

Very friendly staff. lady who worked weekday mornings (cant remember her name) was always pleasant and shared some dog photos.

Tons of cardio equipment.

A few classes daily too.

Nancy was very helpful as we got guest passes. Best gym for visitors (we tried 2 others!!). Just be sure to bring a towel or you will need to buy one there for $9. Good equipment and clean gym except for the ladies locker room, toilets weren't clean. Other than that, will be back the next time we visit!

same hard sale from Joe as mentioned above. I came in for the 3 day pass. He told me to sign up yesterday to get end of month promotion, but yet still 4 days left in the month??. said if I wait and sign up next day, it would be 89 plus 50? then on the next day I get a text saying its 25. He holds your license in the office and makes you go back there to get it and get last chance at hard sale tactics before you leave. also saw him go into ladies locker room to empty waste baskets, but seemed to be in there long time. I was working out other side of the building, but thought that would be awful to walk in there and not know he's in there. Gave him benefit of the doubt, until I saw him go in there again. I think he said HELLO in loud voice before entering, but still...why is the male manager emptying out waste baskets in the ladies locker room ? guess he does that when he's not pressuring people to join. too small and too crowded doesn't help either

Staff is very friendly and supportive, 5 stars all the for the genuine, positive and helpful service from Stuart. I do my RPM\Cardio class with Christi and Mindy, great workout and they make it fun! I started working with Greg 3 weeks ago and in that time have already almost met my fitness goals! He keeps me challenged and motivated, I would highly recommend Greg!!!

Also, the gym is very clean and the location is great with plenty of parking spaces.

3 day trial? A rep named Joe gave me a 10 minute tour and a hard sale. He was really pressing to get something signed. He offered like 20% off if I'd sign today.

Well look, that's not my personality and I like to see if the machines fit my motions before I get in too deep. I explained that- and there was no change in his approach. I moved on then.

I never got one workout in. Never got to try one machine. Couldn't tell you much about the place really. I believe people need to find out what will really work for them and to each his/her own. Good luck.

So if I sign up for a "FREE 3 day pass" I'm not expecting to be pressured into giving up my account info for a membership on day 1, How do I know if I even like the gym or not? That's false advertisement! You should want your seeking clients to feel the gym out and see if they'll like it. If your confident that your gym will serve it's purpose, you shouldn't have a problem allowing people to use the 3 day pass with confidence that they'll sign up afterwards!

My wife and I are here in Largo for a few days on holiday, and wanted to drop in to workout today. Called the number and asked how much it would be to workout today. Simple question right? Instead of saying oh yeah it'll be this much, we got transferred to a sales manager who didn't even talk to us. Just hung up. I guess we won't be working out here.

Love my Gold’s Gym in Largo! Everyone from the staff who greet me to the people who come to workout are always welcoming and so friendly! If you need anything there is always a warm and personable employee happy to help. The facility is huge and clean with state of the art equipment. I did some training with Jerrod who is awesome! He is very knowledgeable and so encouraging! His personal training truly rocks and so do the classes. The instructors are energetic and always fun to follow. They offer a great schedule and have excellent hours. I cannot say how much I have enjoy coming here. I am telling you if you haven’t been…You simply must go.

Been a member for about 10 months. All the trainers are super friendly. Been personally working with trainer Joey to decrease a problem lower back soreness. I can definitely tell the difference between the first day and now.

I've been a member here over a year after switching from Planet Fitness, I was a member of PF for at least 3 years. I'm very happy with this gym because the hours are super convenient, and the people are very friendly. Gold's does a superb job with motivational music that gets you going. Gold's has all the real equipment you might want, and great group classes for all ages and abilities.

Planet Fitness had the worst music! I realize a lot of people bring headphone to the gym but I don't. At the time I switched, PF was actually starting to air commercials(!) on their Planet Fitness TVs/sound system (what?!). The commercials were the last straw for me. The music was already terrible and non motivational, then they're forcing me to listen to drug company commercials/propaganda! Fuddegaboutit.

I recommend going to Gold's. They've got different classes and times geared toward everybody, and lots of smiling faces.

I've been working out at this gym for a year and a half now. It's easily one of the best Gold's facilities around. It's new and spotless. Always see the staff cleaning every part of the gym.

They were open even without power after IRMA. Have all the equipment I need, and even when it's busy, there is room to move around.

Stuart, Tony and the rest of the staff always reach out and say hello. Only suggestion is maybe change the music rotation every so often lol.

No complaints. Love the atmosphere.

I was in town for vacation with the family. Compared to many gyms I’ve visited over the years I can easily say this is a five star place. Extremely friendly staff, clean facilities and every kind of workout equipment one could use was in this gym. All equipment was failrly new and well maintained. I went in every day around 7am and had no issue with the gym being overly busy.

Scam of a location that will cost you a lot of money to end a "no contract" contract. I was thinking of signing here from the recommendation of a friend who recently joined until she just called and told me that after only a month into her groupon three month membership and needing to cancel she was just told they were charging her for two additional months memberships ($60) just to end. So a $40 groupon fee and now this fee, just because she is choosing to cancel is not right. Your two month notice "can be given at anytime" is not able to be given at "any time". It can only be given after you have given them the groupon fee and then two months after that fee. Scam! I will stick with other gyms in the area. The worst part is that she said she only went to the location 3 times in that month because of her work travel schedule. In my opinion this is not business with integrity and makes so much sense why they are using groupon to get people in. It is just their way of guaranteeing at least $100 no matter if you like it or not. Trust a different gold's gym or go to the LA Fitness down the street from this location, where everything is very upfront.
