Joey is a phenomenal teacher with a holistic approach to training the body mind. This class will get you out of your head and into your body in a safe environment where you can explore new movement patterns synced up with your breath & have some fun moving in a playful & empowering way.
Through movement, mindfulness, breath, & proven science based info, Joey is educating in a very practical way how to pay attention to the cues your body sends that can reveal tension & stress are currently being held in the body & how to reverse engineer that stressed state with slower breaths & self regulate the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic (fight/flight) to parasympathetic (rest/digest) in real time before it builds more.
The Conscious Movements class incorporates yoga, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, yoga, tai chi, capoeira, ginastica natural, breath training, play, & meditation. I highly recommend this class. It is the absolute best!

I was very impressed with Joey and the way he incorporates holistic techniques into his classes. His classes are unique in that they provide a great physical workout while also focusing on managing your body's stress levels. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Joey is such an asset for life in and out of the workout environment. His Conscious Movements class helps with mobility and range of motion and the brain body connection. Joey's classes are amazing!! He integrates the whole body and breath for a truly in depth practice. The seminar is a great way to understand breathing techniques that will go hand in hand with the workout and also in your regular day life. I highly recommend any of his classes/seminars. All around wonderful, holistic experience.

I do personal training with Joey as well as his conscious movement class. He’s a great teacher! He’s more holistic than most trainers. He focuses on improving functional strength, mobility, flexibility, stress reduction, ect. I highly recommend!

The class is the best!!Rewarding experience! After Joey's class we felt alive, grateful, and healthy. My only problem is having discovered this wonderful activity so close to returning home to Brazil and not being able to participate anymore. I strongly recommend Joey's classes, as it mixes many aspects with extreme body awareness, uniting mind, body and emotion. Highly recommend!

Joey simplifies living better in a way anyone can follow. Tools, resources, tips, steps... he demonstrates breath work and does it with you. He shares extensive knowledge on the importance of breathing correctly and what a powerful tool it can be to manage overall well being, with just a little practice. I had no idea how to breath before! He gives you easy, no-brainer dietary changes that can go a long way and personalizes guidance for you that you can incorporate immediately. You'll feel like his only client. If you want someone down to earth who won't waste your time and lives what he teaches, schedule an appointment with Joey. Best instructor. I learned more in 20 mins if BJJ training than an hour of class at a gym. He’s adaptable to any training needs and knows how to communicate in a way to achieve optimal understanding.
