New owners have ruined a good gym. They got rid of equipment, reduced the floor size, only have 2 good thread mills. It also has one of the highest prices. After the ONE-Time start-up fee the costs are 180, 385, 390, compared to 420 for the smallest and least equiped gym. I was a member for over 25 yrs and have left.

I saw this feedback from the manager on someone else's review. Granted, I don't know the full story but this public display from a manager and business professional rubs me the wrong way. This was the response to a negative review from the manager:

Unfortunately the building owner decided to try leasing part of the building, we remodeled the remaining 6000 square feet. We kept classes and did have to reduce the number of pieces of equipment. We also became a 24/7 gym which addressed a previous complaint of yours. As you were made aware the last time you claimed we have the highest prices, our price is the 2nd lowest in Crestview and we are the ONLY gym which doesn't charge start up or annual fees. Those are the facts whether you like them or not. I try to serve all of our members to the best of my ability, please be sure to wipe your tears off the equipment before leaving.

Insulting someone, regardless of their negative feedback, is never right, especially from the vantage point of the owner and especially in a public setting. It just doesn't sit well with me. It leads me to believe that, even if you are on good terms with management but make one choice or word to the manager that he doesn't like, he'll blast you in front of everyone. That's not management I want to deal with.

Management is FAR superior than it was before. Dave has been tremendous in ensuring satisfaction. My main issue now is the remodeling and new direction of the gym. The walls are painted black with fluorescent lights so it feels like a prison. The layout is awful. Everything is right up next to each other and it feels cramped. The dumbbell rack is not a great set up and creates awkward traffic jams. There used to be more treadmills but is now filled with more Precor sitting bikes. My wife really enjoyed the cable machines in the back room so she could work out and not feel awkward for trying new movements but, now that it’s all taken apart back there, she feels uncomfortable coming to the gym.

It looks like it isn’t done moving things around and replacing the back room with things so I’ll update this review once all the modifications are done but, for a gym that has “family fitness” in the name, it doesn’t feel family friendly anymore. It just feels like it’s for the elite meat heads. We’ll still come as it offers more than PF and is closer than the other gyms in the north end of town but those aren’t great reasons for continuing to come.

Riviera Fitness in Crestview is absolutely fantastic! The gym is always clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything you need for a great workout. My husband has been enjoying working out at this fitness center for many years, and I have enjoyed my work outs there as well. Dave is doing a great job managing and taking care of the equipment. I’m a single mom that moved to the area, I came in and talked with the owner about bringing my daughter in a stroller to work out and he was very sweet and welcoming! Switched gyms a few months ago and this has been SUCH a great experience. Everything is clean, well organized, and staff is super friendly. Private changing rooms, showers, bathrooms, and locker rooms are also always clean. They have every piece of equipment you could need to workout, and it’s a great deal for the price compared to other gyms around me. Also far more quiet and comfortable when it comes to distribution of people! I much prefer this to my prior gym experience and can finally enjoy the gym and working out again.

I usually come after work and on weekends, and every time I’m here, I’m surrounded by amazing people who make working out a pleasure. The community here truly feels like a second home.

Dave has put so much effort into improving the gym, ensuring it’s a comfortable and motivating space for everyone. There are two pet peeves that I have one. I understand if you are just resting for your next set but if you’re gonna carry on a conversation for 1520 minutes then you need to move somewhere else and somebody else can use the equipment. Lastly, I know Dave can’t be everywhere however you all know because of Covid and other sicknesses that you have to wipe down the equipment and if I see that you are not wiping down your equipment after you use it, I am not the shy type. I will come up and let you know that you need to clean the equipment. Otherwise, to the staff and Dave great job on making this a safe and clean environment.

I hadn't visited the gym in a couple months due to health issues and decided to cancel my membership until things improve. While cancelling, I am told that I would be charged a $60 cancellation fee.

I asked the purpose of the fee, and was told that it was in the contract. I did not recall any such wording, so I asked if he could show me where I signed my name to such an agreement. As he attempted to pull up my contract in the computer, he tried to justify the fee by saying the fee wasn't as bad as the other gyms.

When your only defense of an unscrupulous practice is to point out that other places are worse, you should change your practice.
I left after he was unable to pull up the contract, and I will definitely not return.

If I could give yall NO STAR O WOULD..I been coming here for 6 months doing class every week.. And when I started it was $5 ok cool.. Then the price jumped nd now it's $7 bc perfect fit closed and they don't have competition.. Okay cool I still been coming twice a week paying no problem.. For the past twelve years I’ve been working out and or working for gyms, so I’d like to think I’ve seen a wide variety of gyms/gym climates and equipment variety in my time. Upon moving to the area I noticed we have no lack of choices in the gym department and so I began to test out and basically evaluate each of those gyms. Some were too small. Some lacked good variety of equipment for someone who’s been doing this for so long and sadly some had a really ego driven atmosphere inside. When I walked into THIS gym however I was immediately thrilled.
The space is well used with a diverse amount of equipment great for beginners all the way to advanced lifters.
The gym is kept clean via staff and from what I’ve seen the fellow members always do their part in keeping the gym clean as well (huge plus) in my book as it shows a lot about a gym and its internal atmosphere when their members care about the gym also and do their part to keep it clean safe and friendly.
The new owner Dave is friendly and listens to what members want as far as additions in machines. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name but the woman with short blonde hair at the reception desk is very friendly and welcoming as is the younger gentleman I’ve seen working on Sundays. They offer numerous classes for their members and also have hydro massage beds and red light therapy. I really can’t say enough great things about this gym. Keep up the great work Dave and team your members and trainers appreciate it!

Great place, it’s a good middle ground between a planet fitness and a gym that caters more to body builders. The gym is clean and the equipment is nice and does the job. Completely let down. Gyms slowly gotten worse every day for 2 years. It’s dirty, the bathrooms are always filthy there are never any towels to clean your hands in the bathroom and I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for over 6 months that they will not cancel. Great Place, Good People.. The Turbo Massage Beds are the BEST.. I use them on a regular basis, I work in plumbing service and this devise helps my back in a really good way,, I also use the RED Light therapy bed on a regular basis and have seen a good change in my skin. .All kinds of equipment too..

So disappointed with Riviera's business principles. Riviera's business practices should be illegal. DO NOT JOIN THAT GYM. It's a death sentence. It's aggravating. They behave like vultures. I haven't set foot in the gym since the pandemic. I went twice to cancel. They always give you a reason why it's going to count against you. I continued to pay for two years since the pandemic. They stopped charging me for 2 months since my membership was over. Then they restarted to charge me again. Today, I got a call that I owed them. These are principles that businesses in Crestview should not accept. It goes against the society we are trying to build.

Just one down fall, it’s sad the owners can take your money… but can’t trust you with their equipment. One room is always closed after staff hours, or on the weekends and it’s really weird why they can’t just keep that room open? Don’t understand why. Riviera Fitness is the 3rd gym that I have belonged to. I have had the pleasure of calling this gym my 2nd home for going on 2 years now. Let's start with the staff, always friendly, from my very first day going there. They have addressed questions that I have had along the way, especially when I first started. The equipment is plenty and well maintained. I have been a type 2 diabetic for over 20 years now, I started my goal of reversing this condition with a member of the staff (Jeff) then met a member there (Rich) both of whom have lost significant weight and reversed their own pre- diabetic and diabetic conditions. Then , I started working with one of the trainers (Haley) best decision I have made in a long time, I have hit my goal weight of 160 pounds which is down a total of 37 pounds from where I started. Also nearly off all of my diabetes and blood pressure medication. The trainers are excellent, knowledgeable and committed to helping you with your goals. In summary from the staff to the members to the trainers, the people that I have gotten to know there are more than simply friends, they have become family.

Dont give your money to Riviera Gym in Crestview, FL. They say they support Military, but do anything they can to take your money. They told us we can not get out of our contract unless we move 35 miles away or greater. Knowing very well Pensacola, Destin, and Fort Walton are in that range. Supporting the military my a**. Who is going to drive to Crestview from those areas just for a gym? Especially one that only has one cable station. They do this type of business on purpose. “Now that will be $800 to cancel for you and your spouse, thank you for your service.” They charge the most out of every gym out there too, even though that equipment is older than I am. Also never change the filter for the water station.

Lost a star because most of the equipment is fairly old, lacking attachments for cables, patrons often leave stations without reracking and ofc the 2 year contract can be inconvenient. Been a member a member at a few different gyms and this was hands down the worst experience. There are better gyms around with much better customer service. I signed up for a two year commitment which included guest during staffed hours. Every time I brought a guest they were constantly pressured into getting a membership.(even after we said my friend didn't even live here) Every single visit my wife asked several times if she wanted to sign up while she was in the middle of a workout.

My 2 years were fulfilled on Dec 16 2021 so I went in mid November to ensure they didn't need anything from me to not auto renew. The gentleman at the counter had zero clue how to even check that and after calling the manger who wasn't there he confirmed that I had to do nothing to stop the renewal. He did give me a number to "Paramount Access" in case i had any questions. Due to his apparent lack of information I tried calling the number but the "wait time" was 328 minutes. So i scheduled a call back with the system which I never received. Now it is Jan 11 and I received an email that I was delinquent on a payment. I was luckily able to get an agent on chat and they were able go cancel my membership but only after paying a $26 "one month notice fee". Overall the most scummy feeling exchange of transactions and uninformed employees.

When the pandemic hit they continued to charge the monthly fee even after the gym was closed and they had no service to offer. While everyone was struggling and with out jobs, they continued to bill. If you reached out during this time there was no response. I have since moved out of state and the contract is unbelievably hard to cancel because they finance your membership through a third party. I have lived in another state for 4 months and still haven’t been successful in canceling the membership. I have paid for 4 months close to $250 since I moved out of Florida and when I call to cancel they send you through a maze to prove you’ve moved, having you call the financing company for a letter of proof that you’ve moved which takes so long I’ll probably be paying This membership for another 4 months.

Just be carfeul when signing up. The payment process for the membership is through a third party called Paramont. I was told that there was no contract when dealing with a Riveria associate and that I could cancel at anytime without any Issue. I moved to another state so I decided to canel our membership. I could not cancel directly with Riveria and had to cancel throgh Paramont and they told me that I was under contract for a year and in order to cancel I had to provide proof that I had moved and that there was a cancellation fee of an additional $50 per account after I had proved that I was no longer living in the state. Other wise I would have to pay the full balance for the year contract.

The most greedy, forgetful, and unprofessional gym I have EVER dealt with. I went to sign up in the beginning of January with a friend. After considering it for a night, I went up to cancel. You have to cancel within 3 days of signing contract or you're locked in for 2 yrs. They said okay, took my info and said that would be it. Never had a phone call or anything. Soon (January), they took money out of my account for their services. I called and they said they'd handle it. A month later February), I had a monthly from them take out. I called again and they said sorry and that they would take care of it and that I had nothing more to worry about. They even remembered it being an issue last time I called!!! A month later (March)... I had another monthly take out! I'll have to call once again for more greedy lies probably. The facility may be nice but those who run it only care about the money apparently. I don't recommend this place at all. Find a place that can actually get done what they say they'll get done.

not a single flat bench, been told one was on order back in October 2019. Tried to scan in using the 24 hour access which you have to pay extra for and the card reader did not work. Ultimately not a military friendly place if you work out often and need a place to get a good lift. I am Looking into adding this establishment to the not recommended or even black listed establishments for military members because they are also very devious with their contract. DO NOT sign!!

Funny how people complain about a contract that they sign. I see posts all the time from people whining about how they can't get out of their contract. Then they blame the gym. Instead of taking responsibility for what they signed they want to say that it's someone else's fault. They obviously don't know how to understand a contract and have no business signing one. I have always had good experiences with this gym. Never any problems. Great place!

I have been a member with this gym for almost 2 years now, and I really love it. I started out just going to the bootcamp classes and eventually got a trainer. My Trainer is AMAZING and everyone at the gym is so friendly, kind and helpful.

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!!! The sales tactics here are as shady as car salesmen. You cannot pay out of the contract unless you move or are injured. I REPEAT YOU ARE LOCKED INTO THIS CONTRACT EVEN IF YOU TRY TO PAY TO GET OUT. They conveniently “forget to mention” that part when they’re breezing through explaining the contract. There is a reason this gym has such a shady reputation in the Crestview community. I wish I had listened when people cautioned me to stay away. It is a lovely gym but there sales rep is an absolute snake in the grass and will corner you and use every trick in the book to try to sign. The personal trainers seem friendly and I hope if they care about their reputation they’ll go find a gym that actually wants to help people instead of just trying to pressure them into signing a contract.

I have been a Riviera member for years. I was a member of multiple other gyms in the past but prefer Riviera. There are more than enough free weights, machines, and benches that you never have to wait on what you need. More square footage than any other gym locally and a great atmosphere. Private personal training area, large Aerobics room, hydro massage beds, tanning, outdoor crossfit style area, basketball court, 24/7 access, and less expensive than anywhere else.

Do not go! Had an appointment with Julie, waited around for 30 mins and no show. Very unprofessional, she called me an hour later and gave me a poor excuse why she was late. Walked around the facility and noticed the machines were old. This place is not intended for someone who wants to truly workout, but more geared towards the older generation. Staff was not friendly, the ONE I saw, and did not seem to care why I was there. I compare this place to a cheap Planet Fitness. I will pay a little more for someplace that is smaller and more of a “gym vibe”. I did not see any free weights when I walked around, mostly machine weights. I DO NOT recommend this place at all!!

I’ve been regularly working out here for almost a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed it! There is a wide variety of equipment and the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating! I also love the hydromassager which I use after every workout! This place is great and I highly recommend it!

Jam has changed my mind about this gym. Jam goes above and beyond in her Zumba class! I plan my schedule around it. I look forward to the full body workout I get. It is more intense than your usual zumba class and you have to be mindful of your own limits, which she gives many reminders about. Saturday is her only class and its usually packed.

I had a great experience at this gym! It has a great community of people with amazing, experienced and fun coaches, a nice schedule for classes and a diverse amount of workout equipment.

After being released from physical therapy I knew that I needed to keep up a workout routine to continue strengthening the area of my injury. Ryan Davis was my personal trainer. He always brought a great attitude and a fresh routine. He designed a program that suited me at my level of ability, pushed me to do more, but knew not to push me when I was hesitant or straining my area of injury. He was more than happy to adjust the workout to the target area that I desired. It was such a pleasure to work with him. I miss having him around, but I can say that he taught me and encouraged me well enough that I am now, in Australia, strengthening myself and continuing the program that we started.

Stay the hell away from this place! Unless you are moving 30 miles away or suddenly find yourself physically disabled they will continue to bill your credit card. Never mind if you happen to lose your job, find your family knee deep in medical bills, find yourself at the bad end, financially in a divorce, riviera fitness better stay on as one of your main bills for basic living such as rent, electric, water, food, and gas. Riveria fitness will bill you, with the redheaded owner callously stating any of the misfortunes listed above DON’T QUALIFY for cancelling a VIP membership. Nor will they care to reiterate this upon signing up for the membership. This is the kind of consumer class action lawsuit you only read about or see on TV. Folks, it is very real. I’m heading over the BBB. Good luck fitness friends. Hope you don’t have a VIP membership and experience any of the misfortunes listed above, because, well, YOU’RE SCREWED!!

I’m also heading over to Florida Division of Consumer Services as this handles this type of business under “Health Clubs”. I’m adding this as a resource for those who have experienced the same.

I love this fitness center. The hydro massage is awesome! I didnt realize that I was so stressed. Now with the daily massage, I'm not so grumpy any more. I would give them 5 stars if they supplied towels and daycare, like the last place I had membership with in Arizona.

Worst gym experience! Signed up because I had a friend who attended this gym. They are very very very strict on their contract. They have no compassion for your financial problems. Riviera wants that gym membership payment no matter what. You can only cancel if you live 35 miles away or have some medical disability. That's It! You will not have the freedom to cancel at anytime with no reason. If you don't make the payment until the end of your contract they will send it to collections. Hurting you financially even further. I have never seen such a cruel business practice in all my life. So be warned! I hope no one shares my experience. But if you don't see your self ever canceling then go for it. The gym is actually nice, just too bad it's a financial black hole. Oh, there's a 50 to 100 cancellation fee aswell if you meet the criteria. This rating is more geared towards Riviera's binding contract gym subscription and not the looks, appearances, or any of the staff/trainers of the gym.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!! It’s absolutely ridiculous to get out of your contract. If you’re military you have to send in a copy of your orders and pay a 100 dollar cancellation fee. This only works if your moving 35 miles away from a facility. If you move within 35 miles you’re screwed. Also the membership fee is absolutely ridiculous! I need access at night because that’s the only time I have available in my days, and they charge you extra to workout out after hours. Iv seen people paying 19 dollars for 24 hour access when I’m paying 57 dollars. Not to mention when I signed up none of this was ever stated(I blame myself for not reading the fine print).

Impossible to cancel a contract. Even when life gets in the way, they only offer cancellation if you move more than 35 miles away (even if you currently live 36) and don't have transportation to even get there. They'll cancel for health if you're disabled. Seriously the inside staff is friendly and nice but I hate their billing partner Paramount. This was literally the worst decision.

Every time I come here the manager is nitpicking the cleaning help and making condescending jokes, you would think she would have a written protocol for monthly, weekly, and daily tasks by now instead of expecting them to read her mind and adding her desired detailing to the day. It's a good gym, the equipment is great, but they aren't a guest friendly gym. I'm from out of town and decided to get a week pass here and they neglected to tell me that you can only workout during staffed hours. I of course showed up at 7:50 right before staff leaves so I could get in, and they kicked me out! Check out flex fitness it's a lot better.

My daughter joined this gym when she was 17. She explained at that time, she would be leaving in a year for college. They told her that would not be a problem and she just had to sign a few terms and conditions as to behavior at their facility. She is leaving tomorrow and when she called, they said she had to pay $100 cancellation fee and the balance of the contract. I've seen here, that a few people have had problems with this gym in Crestview.

The Staff are friendly, the location is ideal, and the equipment is in good condition. I've been a member for 2 yrs and I vary my workout around their peak hours so I can get a good work out in an hour or so. Since the gym is open 24/7 its now more convenient to workout whenever you want.

Management will say anything to get you in a contract, but when you want to get out of it within the first three days they will drag their feet. I've canceled my card they used which by the way, the paperwork doesn't say it but they auto enroll you in auto pay, and they have a sub company coming after money. Unless you can read everything and get full disclosure and everything in writing, I wouldn't so business here again. However, I did use their facilities for two days. They have a large number of equipment, all are very clean. Then bathrooms are very clean. Great place, wish it was accessible from the road better but it's a great place. BE WARNED: IT DOES TEND TO GET VERY CROWDED AROUND FIVE PM WITH NO PARKING SPOTS

I loved this place!! I used Riviera Fitness for my last 3 years in Florida. The staff & trainers were extremely helpful and friendly. Not only that but all the members I came into contact with were always friendly as well. I was fortunate to have Monique as my trainer. Not only did she help me get toned but she also guided me to a better outlook on physical fitness as a way of life. They really have quite a bit of equipment & free weights for use there. I am fortunate to say that I made quite a few friends during my membership with Riviera Fitness, and I wish I could find a place like it in Ohio.

Riviera is an awesome place to go to work out. It is "clicky" and hard to fit in, but if you actually are wanting to work out, then that shouldn't matter. I had a personal trainer there, Monique Reid and she is amazing!! I had to stop training due to my own health issues, however if you need to get into shape and want someone that cares, she is the trainer!
