Have been coming here ever since it became Crunch and not 24 Hour Fitness. Started off as a definite work in progress, but surely has been getting its much needed renovations, i.e better equipment, soon to have recovery stations, and amazing instructors! Shoutout to Lauren who instructs the 7:30am Yoga Body Sculpt that leaves me feeling grounded and ready to take on my workout week. I don’t get the chance to use the Sauna and Swim activities that they offer but doesn’t mean it’s not available. Can’t wait to see what else they improve upon!

Romeo (the manager) and setu (the pilates instructor) are absolutely wonderful, everything is clean and the amenities are more than I would have thought there to be. If you have fibro or any other inflammation issues, they have this cyro bed that really helps a lot. I highly recommend at least stopping in the see or try it out ❤️

Had a second account with them that one of their staff mistakenly signed up under my emergency contact. When I tried to cancel there was a cancellation fee of over $100 and the manager said she would not take my word over her staff members even though I had a previous account under my correct phone number. She completely disregarded this. Terrible customer experience, never signing up for Crunch fitness again.

Mr Kayo blessed me up on my first visit to this location. As a frequent gym goer, this gym already impressed me with their hospitality. Being an Altamonte crunch member, you can already tell this gym has a better vibe going. Shoutout Kayo for giving me a quick tour and showing me how to get my workouts fueled. I’m excited for this location to finish upgrading. They have cryotherapy , thermal saunas and even a swimming pool. Genuinely shocked by the funding they’re putting into it. Left today feeling pumped and happy. Shoutout to your staff!

Crunch Gym has been a great place to train. The equipment is well-maintained, there’s a solid variety for both strength and cardio, and I never have trouble finding a machine or bench. The staff is friendly, and the overall vibe is motivating without being crowded or intimidating. For the price, the value is hard to beat. Writing this so none one hurts themselves on the weighted hip abduction machine! On October 15 I was using that machine near the leg workout area, the more I added weights to the machine I noticed it was getting harder for it to close so I can use it so I got up to close the machine and the metal part where your feet rest slammed on my leg. It caused immediate bruising and swelling and I felt pain but I thought it was normal for hurting myself but now I’m not week two and my leg is still killing me I have sharp pains. I made a report the same day I injured myself. Because I still have pain I went back to crunch to complain about the situation no one reached out to me after reporting my injury, after going back to further explain how bad this was no one cares, they said I’d receive a phone call from someone to go over it with me and no one has called me since. They do not care they have crappy equipment and are still doing construction there it’s just not safe and that was the only hip abduction machine I seen if not I wouldn’t have used that one.

Extremely disappointing experience at Crunch Fitness. The front desk representative, Jackie, was rude and unprofessional. The gym advertises a 3-day guest pass, but when I came in person, it was not honored. I was passed between four different employees, and no one took responsibility to help.
Even before visiting, I called the day prior and was transferred between two to three employees, none of whom knew what was going on. I had to repeatedly explain myself. To make things worse, when I asked for the employee’s name, I was given a false name—and when I came in person, I was told that person does not even work there.
This shows a complete lack of professionalism, honesty, and customer care. As a local business owner, I was actually considering joining Crunch’s business partnership program to promote my company—but after this experience, I will not be moving forward with that.
I’ve been a member at Planet Fitness for eight months, and the only reason I was exploring Crunch was to lift heavier and expand my workouts. After this experience, I will still be joining Crunch—but definitely not this location. It’s honestly sad, because my local Crunch could learn a thing or two from Planet Fitness about professionalism and respect.
This location has completely lost my trust and recommendation.

This place is literally stealing from me right now after I went in person and said I didn’t want a service the trainer I worked with lied to me about the time and day we were meeting so I couldn’t cancel. I showed up on the day he told me and my husband in person to be told there is nothing they could do and there is no corporate. Management is never available. Wiped my account completely. I’m extremely upset and no one is helping me. Do not join this gym.!

If you're considering joining this gym, here’s some important food for thought.
When I signed up in June, I was told about all the great amenities included in their top-tier membership. At the time, I was hesitant because the facility was still under construction and many of those amenities weren’t available yet. However, the staff member who helped me assured me that everything would be up and running soon, so I decided to go ahead and purchase the highest-level membership.
Fast forward to October, and the gym is still under construction. Most of the promised amenities are still unavailable. For example, the sauna has been consistently out of order, breaking down nearly every other week.
Given this, I decided to downgrade my membership — it doesn’t make sense to pay $33 a month for services I can’t use. To my surprise, I was told I’d have to pay a $20 fee just to downgrade. Frustrated, I spoke with the manager, Angy, and explained that I found it unreasonable to be charged for downgrading when the gym hasn’t delivered on what was originally promised.
Rather than offering an apology or taking responsibility, she told me, “Well, you can drive to another Crunch Fitness.” I explained that I wasn’t interested in driving an extra 30 minutes just to use amenities I was told would be available at this location. Her response? “It’s in your contract — there’s nothing I can do.”
So, here’s my advice: Don’t waste your time or money at this gym. The facility is still incomplete, key amenities are unreliable or unavailable, and management shows little concern for customer satisfaction. Worse, you may end up paying extra fees for things beyond your control — all while being treated poorly when you raise legitimate concerns.

Do not let your kids work out here! After the first month my son stopped going due to a older white gentleman touching himself in the locker rooms. He would do this in front of my son and his friends. The gym was let known and nothing was done. When all the boys went to cancel due to this issue they are refusing to cancel unless paying the full year out. And the hidden annual fees. In other news if you are a weirdo this place is right for you.
Updated because I can't reply back to crunch. I contacted the location prior to my review. I have emails of them saying they didn't care and I couldn't cancel. Funny because when I call another location they say absolutely you can cancel for that reason.

I am very disappointed with the customer service my wife and I experienced at Crunch Fitness Apopka. When we attempted to downgrade my wife’s membership, we were met with an unprofessional and unforgiving attitude from the manager, Angie. Instead of working with us to resolve the issue, she was dismissive and refused to offer any reimbursement for the inconvenience.
On top of that, we’ve been charged premium rates for amenities that are currently unavailable due to ongoing construction, which feels unfair and misleading. We were told to drive to another crunch gym which is 20 mins away if we want the amenities we are paying for. A gym should value its members and provide clear, respectful communication—unfortunately, that was not the case here.
I would strongly encourage management to re-evaluate how they treat members and ensure that customers are not paying for services they cannot access.

Canceled my membership when they bought out 24hr fitness back in May 2025, they are still CHARGING me EVERY month! Despite me calling HQ, going in person at the club SEVERAL times and WASTING my time! HQ says they cant do anything and the club should have the authority to cancel and refund. I go to the club in person they say they cant do anything! POOR MANAGEMENT and UNETHICAL BUSINESS!
Filing a BBB complain and taking legal measures next.

Crunch Fitness practices are misleading, unfair, and in violation of consumer rights. Make sure you cancel your membership in person. When you join, make sure you know they are going to charge you for 3 months and the annual fee. Then for another month after that. If you refuse to pay it, they will refuse to cancel your membership, which is very illegal. Will never deal with this gym again. You don't have the right to hold people hostage in your contract.

💀 Crunch Fitness Apopka: A Review by Bob the Skullz
(Now serving disappointment with a side of chlorine and management avoidance.)
Once upon a time, this gym was 24/7 Fitness. A spot we trusted. Friendly staff, working equipment, and a pool that, once upon a chlorine-scented dream, was actually great for swimming laps. We even prepaid for a full year because, at the time, it earned our trust. Solid choice… until it wasn’t.
But over time?
That pool slowly transitioned from lap lane luxury to lightly chlorinated swamp. Think less “training ground for athletes” and more “wouldn’t be surprised if a frog 🐸 swam past your ankle.”
Then things really changed.
By year three:
😡 Machines were consistently out of order.
🐊 The pool leaned more swamp than swim.
😷 Locker rooms were… less than fresh.
🤢 Staff turnover was constant, and service quality took a dive.
Enter Crunch Fitness. With new branding came hope....
Until reality set in....
😡 Memberships were converted without notice. The perks we paid for (like bringing a guest) disappeared. When we asked questions, the answers ranged from a shrug 🤷 to vague to dismissive and a little insulting. One staff member even chuckled at the idea of prepaid memberships, which felt more confusing (and insulting) than funny.😡
Renovations were promised, but what we have seen has been half-installed equipment, tools left on the floor, and machines still out of order. The vibe is less “rejuvenated gym” and more “cross between construction zone and shrug emoji.🤷”
The pool? Oh, it changed alright. From murky to Mardi Gras. It’s now more “community splash zone🥳” than fitness facility. No lanes, no structure, just a free-for-all. If you came here to swim laps, you’re gonna need goggles and divine patience.
🧽 🧼.The hot tub? Still home to its eccentric regulars 🧼 🧽
🎧 Music volume? Let’s just say you’ll need industrial-grade headphones if you want to hear yourself think.🎧
When you say something to the staff, they simply shrug and say, 🤦“This is Crunch. We’re loud and proud.”🤦
😡 Apparently… just not particularly customer-minded 😡
We did try to speak with management, but after waiting nearly 90 minutes ⌚️ and receiving conflicting responses from staff, it became clear: communication wasn’t exactly the gym’s strong suit.
For the record, we’re still waiting, but we’ve yet to receive a phone call, email, or even smoke signals💨 that the management is willing to speak to us.
To be fair, some staff were kind and did their best with what they had, but even they quietly admitted that internal support was lacking.
Ultimately, we decided to move on.
Crunch took over a struggling gym and had a real opportunity to turn it around. But instead of leveling up, it feels like the bar just dropped further.
Apopka deserves better.
Update:
If you scroll down and see Crunch’s response, you’ll notice their brilliant solution: “Come in and talk to a manager.” Had they actually read this review, they’d know we already tried that, multiple times. Spoiler: Still no manager, still no call, still no smoke signals. Also worth noting? This exact copy-paste response appears under nearly every negative review here.
Which tells us one thing: Crunch isn’t trying to fix the issues.
They’re just trying to bury the reviews that mention them.

I waited weeks before leaving this review in hopes someone would help resolve my issues. I was a 24 hour fitness member and paid my family membership up front for a year through September 2025. My membership transferred to Crunch and the experience has not been positive. First they tell me I just need to "sign" their contract to ensure everything transfers and all will stay the same. They immediately, (following month) begin attempting to charge the card on file for monthly fees, even though I am paid through September. THEN, when I go in with my 15 year old son (I paid for membership to allow me to bring up to 2 guests just so my son could work out with me), I am told they don't have me signed up for that membership and I will have to pay more. After a lengthy discussion and proof of my 24 hour contractbpaid in full for the family plan, we "fix" their system. Unfortunately, the corporate system is still trying to charge my card DAILY for fees. The card on file is expired, so I begin getting emails and phone calls that my account is past due. I explain to callers, send emails, go to the Apopka club and yes, send proof of the paid invoice in an attempt to resolve. After weeks without resolution, I speak with a regional manager who happens to be in the Apopka club. He assured me and the manager that the invoice that shows paid through the September service period is in fact all that is needed and they will get it taken care of within 24 hours. That was a month ago. Still receiving regular emails and attempts to charge my card, no access to book classes through app because my account is past due. I send another email in writing to Apopka club and they respond that my contract with them (remember they made me "transfer") was from June and therefore I needed to begin paying in July. Once I pay, I can have access again. NOPE, I have the paid invoice through September and confirmation from a manager that I should be good. So I resend and politely ask for them to please assist. It has been an ongoing issue for months. NO RESPONSE and the emails and attempts at charge continue. The last time I was at the club, the bathrooms were out of toilet paper in multiple stalls, the sauna had been broken for weeks, and they refuse to help members who tried to stick with them even through the transition. I have been so patient , but have to have a 30 minute discussion to try to resolve every time I want to work out and each time they act like they have never heard of me, seen me, or know about the issue (largely because the manager on duty has to assist and apparently none of them communicate with each other to assist customers). TERRIBLE.

THE BEST GYM EVER!! I’ve had so many experiences with other gyms but Crunch in Apopka tops them all. I’ve seen and felt the changes within myself. Crunch Apopka takes great service to an unseen level and really caters to each and every member. Not to mention how much they celebrate and congratulate you when you decide to commit to the changes your mind and body desires.

I never have had a better experience then Crunch Fitness. I usually go to the one in Apopka, where I meet my small but mighty trainer, Rainey, who reminds me that I actually am getting my money's worth after each session. I'm not one to ask for help but this young lady pushes me to my limits. She always makes sure that we're moving forward and working on things that I want to make better and stronger. It's never just a great workout but also a fun time and experience at the gym. Thank you Wreany and all the staff!!!!

This wasn't always a Crunch. As it turns out, if you had a membership with the old gym before they switched and they tell you your membership will just carry over (but you don't sign any paperwork), that gives Crunch every right to charge you $150 for a membership you didn't agree to, and weren't informed about the billing of in advance. They weren't willing to return the money once called about it either. Save your money!

canceled 3 months ago and they’re still trying to charge me. I give Crunch like 2 more years before they go out of business from getting sued for hidden fees. you may enjoy the facilities but just wait until you try to cancel and they request minimum $80 and your first born child because it’s in the fine print. trying to cancel a Crunch membership is like being stuck in purgatory.

I was honestly pretty worried about the transition from 24h Fitness -> Crunch.
Surprisingly, it's been an improvement: WAY more dumbbells, the decision to replace the basketball court with leg machines was great, 5 more squat racks eliminated the contention that 24h Fitness had for their 3 racks, and the staff of Crunch have been very helpful & professional in navigating my subscription situation (I live outside the US and only visit 2 weeks per year).
The only reason I'm giving 4 stars rather than 5 is because of some slight missing things that might be already be on their TODO list:
- I could never find bar clips (fortunately the plates stay in place well)
- No hip adductor machine
- No mats for yoga + stretching
- The glute bridge machines are both pretty weird & uncomfortable
If they fix these little things, I'm 5/5 stars for sure.

I’m very disappointed with how Crunch Fitness handles cancellations. I cancelled my membership in person, signed their cancellation form, and was told everything was processed. Yet here I am, three months later, still being charged. Every time I call, I’m told, “We’ll email our back office,” and then I never hear anything back.
This feels deceptive and unprofessional. If a customer cancels and signs the required paperwork, that should be the end of it—not months of unauthorized charges and zero resolution.

The worst experience ever, I used to go to the Crunch at Apopka since they took over from 24 hour fitness on 5/1/2025. 24 hours had taken from my credit card the yearly membership a few days before Crunch took over the business, they told me the money will roll over to Crunch multiple times. Today 8/7, a really nasty manager told me I would have to pay membership to them kus the money doesn’t roll over, she said she didn’t remember when I was told that in front of her. Don’t waste your money, and be careful when signing up for coach services!

This was my first time ever stepping foot into Crunch, and Devin absolutely set the tone for an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, he was welcoming, knowledgeable, and super patient with all my questions. He took the time to walk me through everything—no pressure, no sales pitch—just real, helpful info and great energy.
You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares about helping people feel comfortable and confident. Devin made the gym feel less intimidating and way more inviting. If you’re new or thinking about joining, ask for Devin—he’s the real MVP! 🙌🏽💪🏽

Never even been to this location but yet they are trying to charge me $53!! I never wanted to have a crunch membership to begin with but my 24 hour fitness was converted to Crunch and without letting me know or contact me they charged me twice in the same month. I went in to respectfully speak to someone at which time they told me they were going to cancel my membership but told me I had to give 30 days prior notice as per Crunch guidelines. Thing is I signed up under 24 hour fitness which claimed you could cancel at anytime. Not only did they not cancel my membership now the Apopka location is trying to charge me as well. Fortunately I cancelled my card back when this all began 3 months ago at the location near Metro West. Absolutely horrible customer service.

The only reason why the average rating of this place is 4 stars is because they grab the phone from younger folks (like they did with my 17 year old son) and review themself with 5 stars as they are signing up.
Terrible customer service. If you are young and like loud music with a darker atmosphere, just go to a decent gym (more options in apopka now) what headphones and sunglasses 🕶️ on. You will save yourself from “hidden cancellation fees” and essentially save money and head aches.

I love Crunch fitness gym, I’m able to work with my favorite trainer Reese and also my boyfriend to keep one another motivated. I don’t think any other gym offers this option without paying an arm and a leg. I’ve had nothing but amazing treatment and if you are thinking of a home Gym. Please don’t hesitate.

The manager of this fitness chain outlet can not seem to get it together enough to GET THE DAM FANS TO WORK IN THE CARDIO AREA. Out for months! Obviously Patron experience is a 2 out of 10 for this Manager..........not a priority. Friday AM opening has been missed 3 time since they took over. So some one with out a clue tore out the Baseball court because someone pulled a gun during a game. Then they tore the TV's off the Wall, except for 4 or so that face the back of the heads of the Cardio area users. Man whoever did this renovation threw $1.5 million down the drain, it's no better than before......I'm in the business, I could have saved you a million easy. I would leave but the AM girl is really trying hard and I want her to have the tools to succeed. Give her the tools! THE SATURDAY YOGA IS TOP NOTCH.

I was a paying member of 24hour fitness for years before it switched to crunch fitness without notice or signing a contract with crunch. I went the week they were switching over to cancel my membership (they took away amenities I went to the gym for. The hours changed and weren’t convenient for me) where I was told by a front desk employee to write my name and phone number down and they would cancel my membership. It never happened I kept getting charged and disputed the charges. When I called the gym to cancel I was met with frustration and rudeness by their manager. I understand they’re doing their job but I do not appreciate that I am continually trying to get out of a contract I did not sign up for because one of their employees did not follow protocol.

Been to quite a few Crunch fitness gyms and this is by far the best one. Front desk staff are extremely polite and helpful. The gym is massive and super clean. Nice area sectioned off for squat racks and Smith machines. Will definitely be back and bringing friends!

Crunch Apopka has been charging me for months after cancelling my membership in April. I have gone multiple times in person, and called over the phone, and they have been no help to resolve my issue or provide a refund. I have resorted to contacting my bank. Please be wary getting a membership here. They may never stop charging you.

I have been a member of this gym since it was a 24 Hour Fitness location. Now that Crunch has taken over, many things have changed for better or worse. The new equipment is nice and was sorely needed. However, the amenities have either been completely removed (basketball court) or suffer from a lack of upkeep (sauna is always out of order). Also, the music is SO loud now, which is pretty annoying if you don’t like what’s being played on the speakers.

front desk staff not only slow, lack of customer service, but this spanic morning lady (manager) is very rude...she acts like she don't need the job...
I got news for you: I will notify everyone about your behavior, lack of customer service, rude, loud, unprofessional, etc...
She should be given a mop and a plunger..she may have better skills to clean toilets.

I tried to cancel my membership after over a month of not using it and having health issues arise. They initially told me I would have to come in-person, and when I told them I would be unable to, then Angie Smith (Assistant General Manager) informed me that I would have to share my personal health information and/or give them a doctors’ note in order to have my membership cancelled within 90 days.
