I do not recommend this gym, I was lied to during the contract agreement and has been charged fees and I never attended their gym! The managers John and David has yet to respond to my emails very poor customer service! Now to this day there still taking money from my account and my bank is telling me that they have to stop the payments and still have failed to do so!

Bait-and-switch promotion.
I signed up for a free day pass at the Plantation location to try it and even received a call confirming I could use it within the next seven days. When I arrived, I was told they couldn’t honor the pass due to ongoing remodeling and that I would need to either sign up for a membership or pay for a day pass. Very disappointing and misleading experience.

Pretty good gym. I appreciate that they have some dumbbells with half lbs (22.5, 27.5, etc.). They also have an area for HIIT and have equipment for Olympic weightlifting (squat racks on deadlift platforms). Plenty of cable and cardio machines too. And they also have some bench presses (the pads are a bit short for my liking bit that's just me nitpicking). The gym was pretty clean when I went in and the bathrooms felt clean.
Only con I think of is that I came in and asked for a day pass. I was told that they aren't doing day passes until renovations are complete. Seems kinda silly but whatever. It also doesn't look like they'll be done with renovations by the end of the month.
On my way out, I was given 3-4 free day passes that expire at the end of the month... So if I give a day pass to someone (or I decide to use it tomorrow), are they gonna be allowed in? Or are they gonna be told that day passes are not being accepted and suggested to sign up if they want to work out? My suggestion is to call ahead and ask if day passes are being honored. They are staffed while the gym is open so there's plenty of time to call and figure this out and save you a drive if
If you need a gym with lots of equipment, this gym is a good option. Just call ahead if you are not looking to sign up for a membership that day.

Dealt with this guy named Drew. I dont know how this guy is a manager. To the owner of this gym, you need to seriously re evaluate who is at your front desk and put your employees through intensive customer service training. This gym has lost my business and I will never be returning, thanks to drew and his lack of professionalism.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
DREW gave terrible service. My experience at this Crunch Fitness was ruined because of Drew. His customer service was unprofessional, rude, and he had no interest in helping at all. He made a simple situation stressful and acted with a bad attitude the entire time.

His behavior was unacceptable and left a very negative impression. Management needs to address this immediately. And also, this gym doesn’t look like anything in the photos. It’s old and needs a real remodeling.

I wish I read this review before ever signing up. Would have saved me a lot of time and energy.

Not sure how other Crunch's are in the area, but at least at this location, they put profit over people. I hesitated writing this review for the longest time but I just want to make people aware:

1. You walk in and are swarmed by sales reps begging you to start a training session with them.

2. You are not signing up for "One cent". Depending on your plan, you will be charged at minimum $9.99 monthly on top of an annual fee. Normal right? If you ever want to go from the peak results from $30 month on top of this annual fee to a lower tier due to any reason at all you will be expected to pay two annual fees of around $90 in the same period.

3. Unless if you absolutely need motivation/encouragement and have the financial means, DO NOT BE PERSUADED INTO THE PERSONAL TRAINING. These are not professionals. They hire new trainers every week. Once you sign this contract you are locked with payments being drafted out of your account without your control.

4. They will ask for your credit card information AND banking and routing information. I had to fight like hell to get my payments drafted out of my credit card even with it in the system. Very scammy, because credit cards offer the only protection to the consumer. You will feel DEFENSELESS once you give them your bank account information.

4. In the three months I have gone, I have spent a total of $1609.14. This is a total of training sessions I did sign up for, but also including paying for two annual fees in the same year on top of various random cancellation fees to switch memberships. This is not normal.

5. The staff is either incredibly unaware of how anything in the system works or they are all trained to repeat the same BS when it comes to fixing your account/refunds or even talking with a manager. They act like there is "nothing they can do" when even after you cancel your high tier membership to go to a lower one, they are both concurrently active? They LIE to your face saying you are "taken care of" and then you ask them again the next day and make you pay another lump sum to cancel.

6. It is all scammy business. The gym is fine, even though it is all 24hr equipment that they slapped a crunch label on to save costs. They even like to blame negative comments towards management on the 24hr payment system as if they have any correlation with each other. The crunch's software is set up to continually draft out payments and is strategically designed to "pend" your cancellation requests so it can draft out another payment. I am telling you, they think they're smart until a class action law suit will inevitably be thrown at them.

7. Their favorite line is "You should have reviewed the contract". They will lie to your face saying a certain amount is all you will pay until another monthly payment is pending on your credit card. These people know what they are doing, you cannot call or do any business over the phone. I am already expecting to pay another annual membership before my current membership expires next year.

8. I gave two stars because I didn't want this review to get lost in the one star category with petty customers shouting their ridiculous reviews. I never post reviews. I have been complacent the entire process. One of the managers even showed me the list of people spam calling her cussing her out because they were wrongfully charged to their bank account. My experience is not unique.

9. The only thing they want is your wallet. This gym is the definition of an unethical business and I am sure they will just respond with "I am sorry you feel that way". This gym is only good if it is in a good location for you, you do the lowest tier membership, and go frequently.

Other than that its a great gym!

Beware of misleading and shady practices.
Their website and in-club flyers clearly advertise a free training/pass, but once you actually drive all the way there — in my case over 25 minutes — they suddenly refuse it at the front desk without any valid reason.

This is false advertising and completely unacceptable. If you promote a free training offer, you should honor it. Period.
Wasting people’s time and gas just to deny what you advertise is not only unprofessional, it also feels illegal and deliberate.

The staff didn’t care at all and gave zero explanation. Very disappointing experience.
I definitely won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone looking for an honest and reliable gym.

Deceptive Advertising / Bait-and-Switch Promo

I recently moved to the area and have been searching for a gym with a steam room and pool. I was excited to find this location and was fully prepared to sign up as a new member. While I was on their website getting ready to join, I saw they offered a Free Day Pass, so I decided to use it to quickly check out the facility before committing to a membership. I registered online and received the confirmation.

When I arrived, the front desk (Aleena) told me they “no longer accept the free day passes” and that her manager (RJ) instructed her not to honor them anymore. My only options were to pay for a day pass or sign up immediately. The exact same Free Day Pass promotion was still printed and displayed at the front desk, which makes this a clear case of misleading advertising.

This is textbook bait and switch using a promotion to get people into the building and then refusing to honor it. If a business won’t even stand behind their own advertised offer, it raises serious trust concerns about how they manage memberships and billing.

I walked in ready to join. I walked out disappointed and unwilling to support a gym that relies on deceptive tactics instead of transparency and integrity.

Be aware before you waste your time.

Unsafe equipment and zero accountability from management or corporate

I had a very disappointing and unsafe experience at Crunch Fitness Plantation. While using a treadmill, I injured my ankle due to a loose part on the equipment. I immediately reported the incident to staff, who assured me that an incident report would be filed.

When I followed up the next day after seeing a doctor, the report couldn’t be found, so we had to complete it again on the spot. I was told that corporate would reach out within a day — but no one ever did.

Over the following days, I repeatedly followed up, but received no updates. Eventually, I was told that corporate would handle it and that the gym could do nothing more. I never heard from anyone afterward.

This experience shows a complete lack of concern for member safety or accountability. The equipment was not adequately maintained, and management failed to follow through on a documented injury.

If you value your safety and want a gym that takes responsibility when things go wrong, I recommend reconsidering joining this location.
Despite my injury and the fact that nothing has been resolved, Crunch is STILL charging me — monthly fees AND the annual fee. It’s been over a month and not a single person from corporate has reached out.

This is an extremely unprofessional and irresponsible company. If you care about safety and customer service, avoid this location. It just TERRIBLE location/gym and TERRIBLE management.

They're remodeling at the moment. Most, if not all walls have been freshly painted. The Crunch signs are up and it looks almost like a different gym. Just waiting on the new, updated gym equipment and it will be gold!

People at the front desk are super nice and friendly. You don't usually get that at most gyms.

Updated review: after writing this review and the owner sending their fake professional message, I started to receive debt collection phone calls and text messages. I’d just like to clarify that I never used the Crunch Gym facilities ever and never signed up with them for membership and now they sent me to a debt collector and after the owner wrote their response they did nothing to rectify the situation and now they're trying to collect a debt that I do not owe. I'd also like to mention that my bank returned the money to me which validates that the transaction was fraudulent.

This company purchased the gym that I used to go to. I had a membership with 24 hour fitness and crunch fitness bought the 24 hour fitness. I never received any email notification, phone calls or letters in the mail regarding this transfer of ownership until I learned that I was being charged monthly fees of $26 per month on my credit card . I never signed up for a membership with this gym. I signed up for a membership with 24 hour fitness and it was a one year annual membership that was supposed to end in June. I never signed up for a monthly membership with crunch and had to contact my bank to dispute the charges. After contacting the crunch fitness gym, they refuse to refund and said that I would have to come in to cancel my membership (that I never opened with them )in order to end my membership And that I would not be refunded. They found my email address and continue to send me emails because now they decided to email me- to ask me to pay for the membership they signed me up for without my authorization. I think this is a really shady way to open a new business and there are better business practices to take over a company and let the previous customers know and decide for themselves if they want to open a membership. Its disappointing that I was only emailed regarding a membership with them after disputing charges. Had I been notified in advance regarding the ownership change and the new charges and was asked to come in to sign a new agreement, I may have opened a gym membership with them. I did receive my money back in full from my bank, so I advise everybody to file a dispute with your bank to get your money back because it is considered fraudulent for them to be charging you without a signed agreement. Don’t let them fool you into keeping a membership with them that you never assigned.

The rudest front desk worker is there. Not sure if he is a manger but he is a tall mollato looking male. I was treated like I was a bother waiting for my friend. I was so excited when I saw I had a crunch nearby newly opened, I’ve been a crunch member for almost 10 years, but never had one nearby, the one in Pembroke Pines was no longer close enough and I loved it so much. I tried out amped, which I also love but felt it lacked a lot of things that the crunch in pines had but seeing as the only option I kept my amped membership. I signed up as soon as I realized that crunch bought 24 hours, but what a disappointment coming in here as my first day, first the gentleman at the front, blonde hair, didn’t catch his name but will update the listing as soon as I do. Walked in and asked for my account and routing # while every customer was around. Then tried to sell me the kickoff whatever and when I respectfully declined he said “ok you’re good to go” and I said how do I make it upstairs through here and he was like “yeah that’ll take you up.” Terrible service and also to my dissapointment ; they inherited the machinery from 24hour fitness and I’m soooo disappointed. Crunch has all the machinery I need and love. But think twice.

Mid 20s to adult crowd. Perfect! Vibe, classes in dance room always has place with the crowd right for connections. Better than other locations that might have a very youthful age group all with very dedicated people. Sauna and pool present and spacious bathrooms with lockers only drawback only card accepted for everything and no offer to pay for locks were found and the jump offs would've been better if warm and stretches were an expectation but I cant complain given it's introductory to introduce type of programmes.9.5 out of 10 even though they are early days.

I had a 12 month commitment with 24 hour fitness where I paid my last month’s fees when I signed up. I signed up last year October and called on the last day this month to confirm my membership ended. Cool, got a copy of my contract ending!

Quite literally the next day I check my bank statement to verify nothing shady was done and Crunch charged my card despite 1) my contract with 24 already ended and 2) my last month fees were already paid when I signed up…

I called several times since early October and it’s been so much back and forth, in the year 2025! Insanity. The representative Elena explained that I shouldn’t have been charged and didn’t know why I did. All they can do apparently is submit a form but it’s up to corporate. Absolutely not, it’ll be up to my bank and my documentation :-)

Somehow even changing brands, this gym still cannot get it together.

I am a member at Crunch Gym in Plantation, and I want to raise a serious concern regarding guest check-in procedures. Guests are required to leave their physical driver’s license or state ID at the front desk, rather than simply presenting it. As a cybersecurity professional, I believe this practice creates unnecessary risk.

A driver’s license contains sensitive personal information such as full name, address, date of birth, and identification number. Retaining this information in physical form exposes guests to potential misuse, loss, or unauthorized access. The gym already uses a digital waiver and check-in system, which is sufficient to confirm identity without holding government-issued identification.

Modern privacy standards, including principles found in the Florida Information Protection Act and FTC data protection guidelines, emphasize minimizing the retention of personal data. A visual ID check is enough to verify identity without physically keeping the card.

I respectfully urge Crunch management to review and update this policy to better protect guests and uphold responsible data handling practices.

Thank you,

Long time patron of this location back when it was 24hr. Still don’t understand how management does things here, for example:

2/4 cable machines are down, now for what seems like 2-3 weeks. Not everyone has time to wait 5-10 mins for someone to finish up. Lotsa machines are dated and broken.

Painting the gym..making it a multi-day affair involving all patrons that come here because of the fumes. Here’s an idea, why not close the gym for a day/2 and get it painted and then have it air out properly. You have us come in after they’ve painted all night so we can inhale all the fumes and you don’t have open up all the doors….. make it make sense! We can’t even use the gym in this condition, just close!

I’ve been coming to this location for almost two months, if not longer, and every time I'm here, there’s pressure for me to sign up for a membership. Three people in my household already have memberships, one with a personal trainer, yet I’m still constantly being pushed to get one.

What I don’t understand is why I’m asked for my ID every time. I’ve asked repeatedly what the purpose is, but all I get is "Management Policy." However, it’s not mentioned in your guest policy, just that it's something you can ask for once. Yet, every single time I come, especially if I was there the night before, I’m asked for it again. Last night, I forgot my ID in my other car, and I wasn't allowed in, even though the staff (Brian, AJ, and the others) saw me the night before. It honestly felt like I was being treated as though I was doing something wrong just by showing up as a guest.

And don't get me started on the Facebook request. I did it the first time, why keep asking? Honestly, I'm disappointed with the way this location operates. It feels more like dealing with pushy car salespeople than a gym.

I came into the gym with a guess pass that was obtained from the Crunch website and the car salesman front desk gentleman’s said they don’t accept them and instead pushed for a $1 month gym promotion. I said sure why not since it was only a dollar and I wanted to check out the gym. The representative said I could cancel any time and that was proven to be a lie.

I had the membership for less than a month and I came to the conclusion that this was not the gym for me. Old equipment and filthy gym. Trying to cancel the membership was its own headache. I called to cancel and instead was told to come in to the gym. They try and force you to pay the $60 annual fee and two months of membership even though this was not mentioned at all during the onboard and wild to be that I would get charged for that when I had the membership for under a month. In short, you’re stuck with fees, misleading advertising, and no easy way out. STAY AWAY! Try out the new Amped facility around the corner instead!!

This gym is dated . Its the same layout when i use to workout with 24hours years ago. The staff is friendly my only issue is they clearly dont do anything except check you in or train. Who is responsible for maintaining machines? Things are broken and unopperable. Some equipment is filthy like i went to wash my hands after and the water was greyish/black! Them painting the walls while we workout is crazy work ,all you can smell is paint and its not healthy for you to inhale it in an enclosed area like that. My only real issue is cleanliness , lack of dumbbells hopefully when gully renovated i can change my mind . Hallandale looks more promising but lets see how it is after one year operating

This location has a lot of potential but it simply isn’t there yet. I was very excited with Crunch purchasing this location because I assumed that they would begin renovations immediately. Instead all I see is building material stacked up in the lobby and I’m greeted by pushy used-car-salesman acting employees who just want my credit card number for personal training plans. Maybe once the owner can be bothered to actually renovate this place it will be worth the membership.

Crunch advertises itself as affordable, but in reality the pricing is very misleading. They promote “your first month for $0.01” or “first month free,” but in the fine print it’s really only the first week before you’re billed. When I signed up, I was expecting the first full month as advertised, but I was charged much sooner.

On top of that, the “$15/month” plan is not truly $15. After taxes it’s about $17/month, and when you add the processing fee (about $2.25/month) plus the yearly annual maintenance fee (around $60), the real cost works out to closer to $25/month, not the $15 they promote everywhere.

So while Crunch looks cheap on paper, once you add up the hidden charges and fine print, you’re basically paying the same as other gyms. It feels like a bait-and-switch, and I wish they were more upfront about the real cost. To make matters worse, when you confront the staff, they admit they can’t do anything about the charges. There’s also no real way to cancel your membership online (the site just leads to a dead link), calling corporate only gets you an AI that doesn’t help, and the email address listed in the agreement bounces back with an error. If you try to cancel in person, you’re still forced to pay the $60 annual fee and even get charged for an extra month because they require a full month’s notice in advance. In short, you’re stuck with fees, misleading advertising, and no easy way out.

Hi, I stopped going months ago when it was 24 hour fitness. And what I didn't like was they automatically enrolled me to The New gym and they're calling me up three times a day, and I tell him no. I didn't ask for this membership and to please cancel me, then they tell me in order to cancel. I owe them $65. And they won't cancel it until I pay them. And I even went in to speak to the manager. He says oh he'll make a note. But I'm still getting phone calls to cancel my membership. It'll be 60 bucks and it's increasing all the time too.. Very unhappy

I signed up with 24 hour fitness last year in July with Matt and paid my full year with him using a Bank of America CREDIT card. When my membership with 24 ended this year, somehow Crunch rolled over my membership with them. I never authorized or signed a membership with Crunch.
Last month I went into the gym to cancel my membership because I was charged for the first month somehow. I told them I never signed a membership with them and they told me “it’s all the same thing”. When I told them “no it’s not, I paid a full year with 24 Hour last year” they looked at me like I was crazy. So one of the guys up front told me “we need a copy of your agreement and proof with 24 so we can send it to corporate”. The next day I call in to ask for an email to send the agreement/proof and the guy over the phone tells me “just come in and we can cancel it when you get here”. So again, I come in and the manager tells me “well you paid one month, your annual fee comes out soon and then you just have to pay 3 more months to cancel”.
I didn’t want to cause a scene so I said okay, thanks.
A day later I get charged the annual fee.
I called my bank to put a stop pay and dispute the annual fee and they did. The past week I got phone calls/voicemails from Crunch asking me to update my form of payment in which I ignored.
I check my account today and SOMEHOW they were able to take out $41.70 twice this month using my DEBIT card number I NEVER provided them besides using it for Apple Pay to buy a some protein shakes when the first week they converted.
I call my bank to ask them how this is possible?? They tell me they can only block recurring charges exactly how it’s spelled the time I ask for it to be blocked. These snakes at crunch first charged me under “CRUNCH PLANTATION” and when they saw it being declined, they charged under “Crunch Plan”. (See screenshot).

SNAKES.
It’s not about the charges at this point, it’s about the moral of this company.
This can’t be legal..
I will most definitely be contacting corporate about all of this.

I was rolled over to the Plantation site from 24 hour fitness. It has been a nightmare!! I cancelled my membership and received email confirmation. They continue to try and charge me. Manager Drew is awful! Unprofessional and no customer service skills. He just hung up . DO NOT join this gym. Old equipment with new paint.

Got a day pass online but when I arrived they said it was only a 15 dollar pass and they weren’t accepting free day passes; this despite the fact the website confirmed it. Was looking forward to signing up from what I heard but being charged for trying out a gym is ridiculous.

My friends and I drove 30 minutes after signing up online for the free first-time pass, only to be told it was no longer valid, even though the offer was still up and they said will be“ending tomorrow.” We offered to pay the $15 day pass instead, and they still refused. Manager Adriane wouldn’t let us speak to her boss, who was present but ignored us the entire time. Extremely disappointing. We won’t be coming back.

UPDATE. It’s been a month not a single thing has changed. Not a single gym equipment improved. Just a 24 hour fitness with crunch stickers on the outside. The equipment is beyond old I’m talking ANCIENT. Cracked and broken equipment everywhere. Everything is filthy and dirty. Don’t even waste your breath.

This is not a crunch. It’s a 24 hour fitness with a crunch label. Equipment is all 24 hour fitness and old. I walked in and walked right out.

Extremely rude judgement and shouldn’t not be what we see when we walk in to a place where we go to feel good . He needs customer support training . To know judgement is not needed when working with people who are working on their bodies.

Gym was bought by crunch months ago, but no new equipment, only very very slight rebranding, that actually covers up where you can see the weight on some machines!! Sauna and pool area is constantly shut down it’s ridiculous it’s been like this for over 2 years. Not only that but the gym is disgusting and just boring.

This place sucks. Stay away. They scam you and customer service desk people are either rude or incompetent and poorly trained. Talked to so called manager at front desk by name of Drew and he was extremely rude, talked over me and would not listen. Tried to cancel my membership and although I had explained to him I was being charged on my membership monthly and was just recently charged the $53..49 annual fee and I told him the dates, he stated I was wrong and said my account wasn't paid and then apparently they charged me a late fee. His excuse was to send an email. This is going to take a lot of work to resolve due to someone's incompetence. Do yourself a favor and go to a real gym. This guy Drew should not be in management for any company!

I had a bad experience at the new Crunch Fitness today due to unprofessional and pushy staff. A young male trainer asked me to enter my personal info on a tablet right away, even before explaining anything. He also told me the promotion ended today (July 15), but my flyer clearly showed it ends 7/31. When I pointed it out, he just said it was “updated,” which felt dishonest or misinformed.

I understand that rebranded gyms with new equipment may raise prices, but the staff made me feel rushed into signing up without caring about my needs. It felt more like a confrontation than a consultation, so I left unhappy. I used to go to 24 Hour Fitness for years. I won’t be joining Crunch and hope they train their staff better.

Was super excited to see that a new Crunch was opening in my area and I signed up online when they first launched membership.

When I came for my first day I was a bit shocked and slightly off put because I didn't realize that it is an old 24 Hour Fitness that is being renovated. I kept my membership and had a change of thought. Seeing as I am not in my best shape and needed to find a gym home that I can grow with. The staff is friendly and the location is right just needs a little work. Flash forward to today and Im actually excited to see the improvements and renovations in store as both me and the gym will be looking brand new in a few month.
