Place is very crowded even at non-pick hours. Lockers floor is usually dirty, except at very early hours in the morning. Lately, lockers’ A/C has been shut off. No more A/C in lockers. Out of order equipment can take sometimes weeks before repair. Staff friendly in their majority, however mostly to people they know due to frequency. Everything else is OK

This gym is an introvert’s nightmare. What else is new? They only care about sign-ups and keep allowing people in to the point that, after regular work hours, it’s filled to the brim. Think of it as going into a super packed club every day and having to play Hunger Games for most machines. I’m tired. I’m done.

I should not have to feel anxious walking into a fitness center that’s meant to help with my physical and emotional well-being. I would highly recommend NOT signing up for the personal training. You can learn everything on YouTube, TikTok, etc. And if you lose your job in this economy, they will NOT work with you.

I finally canceled today and learned they charged me an additional $28 (an entire month) without ever telling me they would. Now I’ve paid for a whole month with a canceled membership (and I can’t even go in). I feel betrayed.

I'm giving the club one star because of the customer service at the front desk. My girlfriend and I came in to check out the club. We recently moved to downtown St. Pete and live about 5 minutes away I went online and got a guest pass for both of us and the girl at the front desk who she was the manager. Tried to charge us $15 each saying that we've been members over 2 years ago at the Crunch in Seminole which is 30 plus minutes away and we could not use a guest pass. It's a completely different area we simply wanted to see how busy and the cleanliness of the club that's why we went during there prime time. There was a 95% chance we were going to sign up that day because it's very convenient and the one in Seminole. The people are very nice. It's a great gym. I would recommend that one the but it all worked out because we signed up at anytime fitness. Would not recommend going to this gym. It feels like they already have enough members and they really don't care about having new members in their gym Very rude people

STAY AWAY!! Crunch business model is a scam. It's cheap each month but when you try and cancel your membership they keep charging you. If you cancel the card then they send it to collections. Then after you pay collections they continue to somehow charge you! And its perfectly legal because the only documents they keep on file are your original sign up documents. So there is never proof you cancelled! They have a whole department that does nothing but make sure members stay members. STAY AWAY! I AM OUT OVER $1000.

I have been with Crunch for over 5 years and am cancelling my membership due to my personal training experience with them and their contractual agreements they have you sign but tell you nothing about the fine print and in between.
I feel completely taken advantage of from the staff here and their inability to help me after charging me not once but TWICE after cancelling .
Now having to deal with filing a claim at my bank, there was no empathy or compassion in their part and the personal training manager was no help what so ever (Jacob). When I was in tears over the financial stress they have put me in, neither of these men could even look me in the eyes. I know this is not the first time they’ve done this to someone and won’t be the last. The fact this is how Crunch is getting their money is sick and the only advice I have is to NEVER sign any paperwork with them nor come here and support their business.

I primarily use Crunch for its personal training, and I couldn’t be happier. My Trainer, Anna, is incredibly talented at pushing me physically while motivating me mentally. This isn’t just a hobby for her, she has deep knowledge of the skills and science behind fitness and strength training and is invested in my progress at the gym and at home. She is also very inclusive and experienced with different ages, body types and fitness goals which is really hard to find (especially at this price point). The gym itself was just remodeled and they have some great classes and newer machines that have really upgraded the experience.

Haven’t lived in Florida for a long time, have sent multiple cancellation letters to get rid of this membership with nothing done by this company. I called and asked that they switched membership to a different location where i live in Texas just to find out that they purposely put my address to one in Florida so they can still charge me for the one in St Pete. my account name is Diego Reynoso don’t reply to me with some bs auto reply and just CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP it’s been several months of trying to cancel this and filing disputes with my bank for fraudulent charges. The gym is always full of energy and equipped with almost everything you could imagine. I don’t come here to meet new people, but with 60+ people working out at nearly all times, it’s easy to connect if you want to. There are TVs playing sports, great music to keep you motivated, and an overall atmosphere that makes training enjoyable. I genuinely like working out here.

Spoke with the manager who said unless it happens again they can’t do anything??? So basically I have to get assaulted a second time. If I am assaulted at all, I will not bother to file another complaint with the gym. I’ll file an assault charge against the individual and also hold Crunch liable for negligence because they stood by and did nothing when a report was previously filed. They have an individual who’s a loose canon and could care less. They are obviously complacent when people feel threatened and I spoke with someone who had a similar experience at this facility and the club did nothing to ensure their safety either.

They care nothing for the safety of their members. I was confronted by a person working out here and I reported her. She got in my face, she took my personal property, (a water bottle) and threw it at me. I showed them the video. They did nothing and I saw her at the gym a few days later. I don’t feel safe here because they let people get away with threats and abusive behavior and let them back in.

The place is filthy. The locker room floor hasn’t been mopped in months and is covered in urine stains, sweat puddles, and garbage. I have seen insects crawling through the turf in the main area of the gym. At any given time there’s at least half a dozen staff standing around the desk doing nothing, yet the cleanliness and maintenance is clearly overlooked. As far as equipment goes, trying to find a weight plate that isnt 35lbs is a task; finding a 2.5, 5, or 10 lbs plate is nearly impossible and typically requires a scavenging mission walking around the entire facility

My biggest complaint is the volume of the music in the club. The vast majority of members are wearing headphones which should be a hint that people are not interested but I respect Crunch’s perseverance to make sure everyone still hears it. They send out random surveys about the workout experience and one of the check boxes is literally “music too loud” so it’s a known issue. It almost seems intentional to make the club less accommodating to move people through more quickly.

BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES FROM THIS GYM!!!

I was overcharged for months at this gym. The bank claimed it was fraudulent as Crunch changed the name several times under its billing charges. I spoke to Patience and she did absolutely nothing, and cut me off on the phone. She claimed she could not call me back about updating me on the status of these complaints. Matt Rykman is also absolutely useless. Two gym members argued with me and hung up on me. I know someone else who also had the same experience. Another gym member told me today that "she doesn't know how long it will take for me to recover my money" as the back office is "backed up." One excuse after another...

This gym should be put out of business for stealing from its clients!!! I would give it 0 stars if I could...Worst gym I have ever been a member of. Additionally, it is always extremely overcrowded which is most likely against code.

I downgraded my membership here from Peak Results to Base on 8/16/2025, expecting to pay $9.99/month. On 8/21/2025, my bank account was debited twice: once for $34.34 and again for $19.36. I later learned the $9.99 rate only applies with a one-year contract.

When I asked the receptionist about the extra $34.34, I was told it was a “downgrade fee” equal to one month’s dues. This fee was never disclosed to me at the time of downgrade. I disputed the charge with my bank, which reversed it. A week later, Crunch charged my debit card instead (without my knowledge they had it on file), and I had to dispute it again.

I cancelled my membership shortly after and paid the cancellation fee. However, Crunch later sent me a notice of an “outstanding balance.” I asked for a copy of my membership agreement to confirm if I had ever agreed to such fees. My request was ignored, and the link to agreements in the app only leads to a “404 not found” page.

When I considered just paying the $34.34 to resolve the issue, I logged on to see that Crunch added an additional $15 late fee and sent me an email threatening collections.

I would have been willing to pay the downgrade fee if it had been disclosed upfront and if Crunch could provide proof I agreed to it. Instead, they ignored my requests, continued adding fees, and escalated the threats.

Needless to say, if you are looking for a gym, look elsewhere. The gym is always crowded, the machines are always broken, and they try squeeze every penny out of you that they can.
