Diamond Hill Golf Club in Dover, FL is an 18-hole semi-private golf facility that opened its doors in the summer of 1959. Designed by Chic Adams, Diamond Hill Golf Club measures 7002 yards from the longest tees and from that distance has a slope rating of 135 and a 73.8 USGA course rating. We offer several membership options and are happy to offer tee times to the public as well. As a course that was built on an old phosphate mine, our golf course offers unique terrain and undulation not common in Florida to challenge the better player, while playing open enough for the average player to have a great time as well. Our signature hole, a par-3, requires a force carry over water that drops 80’ from the back tees to the green.

Course In good shape but always the same 2 issues , always seem to be behind on the tee sheet, u never start on time unless they are slow, secondly the pro shop needs nicer peeps. I haven’t dealt w it but I’ve seen them be rude to others and talk down to people . I’ve seen it a few different times and it’s in others reviews so maybe talk about it diamond hill. Anyways I’ll still be back .food is good and the bartenders are always great.

The course is fantastic however I gave my rating because of the pro shop staff. Someone has to start holding these golf courses more accountable for who is behind the counter. We played in an outing with people from some of the most prestigious golf resorts in Florida, which you knew about. Yet, we still received borderline TERRIBLE service from your the pro shop staff. Seemed very disorganized for the price we paid. I would call people out by name because I’m that tired of grumpy golf shop attendants but no one was wearing a name tag.

Poor customer experience, willing to pay cart fees and full round of golf for the last tee time so we wouldn’t slow anyone up, but told we couldn’t walk because it was a privilege to walk and only members are allowed to walk. Left the course, and won’t be coming back, guess they didn’t want to make money that day.

Great layout with new greens. I've golfed here since the 80's and the course has never been better than it is right now. The Grill on the Hill is a great place to enjoy a beverage and some tasty food at the turn or after your round.

Took my previous review down. Course is in the great shape as it was years ago when I started playing diamond hill. New greens are perfect. Fairways are perfect. A little work put this course back in tip top shape. I'll be back as I enjoyed playing there again.

Incredibly disrespectful to my associates at the course. Paid $700 plus just for them to give me and my party a hard time. Last time we’ll ever come here. If you’re a young professional, don’t come here. They will rip you off not worth the money to deal with management.

Our foursome played here April 23, and the course was in great condition. The greens have been completely redone and are flawless. The new carts enhanced the experience. There were also new menus in the club house restaurant and the variety was a welcomed surprise. I can vouch for the Cuban sandwich. The staff at the front desk and restaurant were nice and the service came with a smile. My hats off to the owners. We’ll be back!

Lifetime DH golfer. Finished and moving on.
There have been many improvements, credit is due for that. However your main goal is rasing fees which wouldn't be so bad if you Pro shop counter wasn't so rude and arrogant. So to try and avoid the attitude tried making tee time online
The purpose there was threatening me I would be charged with a no show and making sure you get my credit card. Of course after being duly threatened and giving up my credit card your site failed to give me my tee time, 4 times!
Btw my group found a great course and had a very enjoyable round.
What a difference to check in with no attitude.

Sorry I didn't take pictures. Played this course many times over many years. This was the worst experience I've had in a long time anywhere! First, the course should be embarrassed to charge $86 for a course in such horrible shape. Lots of bare ground in fairways. On some holes moving the ball to the rough would have given a better lie . The greens may have been redone but they are still in need of lots of work; irregular surface, bumpy, patches around the holes making putting a crap shoot. Plenty of courses in the area in better shape and a lower cost. Diamond hill owner/management should be ashamed. we won't be back anytime soon

The most anti-family-friendly golf course I’ve ever experienced. On two separate occasions, the assistant manager has gone out of his way to prevent my family from enjoying a round of golf. The first time, my wife—8 months pregnant—was turned away. The second time, I was refused when I brought my kids along to ride with me. The excuse? ‘Not enough carts for riders,’ despite more than 20 carts clearly sitting idle out front. If you value a welcoming atmosphere for your family, avoid this course at all costs. Their treatment of families is absolutely unacceptable.

Let me start off by saying I like this course. It’s forgiving, spread out, and isn’t surrounded by houses. What I don’t like is being charged $70 to play on a course where EVERY SINGLE GREEN…. ALL 18 OF THEM…..Look like they were burned to dirt like the pictures below show. If your greens are like this, you CAN NOT be charging $70.

Place was terrible. To start off with the carts were nice(in 2001). Ride and steer like tanks. The fairways were a mess, not supposed to hit off of solid ground and dirt when in the fairways. Am enclosing pictures of the greens, we’re worse than they look. Couldn’t stick the green and was like putting on a table top. This club knew about conditions with construction coming and didn’t bother mentioning. They lost me forever for that. 70 dollars, should have been 30 with a warning about conditions. Do the right thing and send anyone who paid with card a reimbursement.

There is no excuse for charging people $70 a person for a course that is burnt to this extent. Cost of the round should have been $ 40 or less for the condition of the greens. First time at this place and the last. They knew what they were doing and pulled a bait and switch on people knowing they were starting renovations and killing everything off. On top of this course layout is not the best and staff could be a little less cranky. Take your money elsewhere.

Play discord today. Play discourse last week. Last week on a Sunday, they charged us $47. The group that we play in. And because we were 3 people short this week. They charged us seventy dollars. They did not tell us on the phone that the greens were burnt up and that they were getting ready to replace them. They pulled an old fashioned rope adopte, knowing that they were closing the course for 6 months to re do the greens. And when that gets done, no telling, What they will charge. They did say they were gonna put temporary greens in why they redo the course. Well, we all know how that goes at seventy dollars around. Bottom line is this course, no matter what shape it is. And it's not worth seventy dollars.

Had some concerns with all the recent 1 star reviews but these were not warranted!
Played yesterday, and greens were in pretty good shape and rolled AOK, and I'm usually a stickler for greens conditions.
Now, there are a few holes in the back nine with room for improvement to box and fairways but overall, totally enjoyed it.
Staff was friendly and still a lil gem with the undulations in flat Florida! 👍

Play in the Spark League here on Thursday. Now they tell us we will be playing only the front 9 for the whole year due to reconstruction of greens. So I ask the pro shop if back 9 is closed and he says no. They have not even started yet. I get it if the back 9 is closed but to not close it and tell the people who play and support them for 9 months during the year they are basically second class citizens there. Well guess what I will drive an extra 15 miles each week to join another sparks league at a course that appreciates my business.

I tried to play at this golf course but the staff was extremely rude when we had gotten to the course it was raining and our tee time was set for 10:48 am didn’t tee off right away. Due to it raining. Because we was in a larger group on hole three we stopped and allowed a two person team to play ahead of us and when we had gotten to hole 7 a man pulled up and said that we was playing slow and needed to speed up (I’m a new player and thought ok I’m slowing down so I stopped playing) and then when we went tee off at hole 9 the same man came and told us he was the gm and we needed to stop playing and allow his and all the other groups behind us go ( we spent a little over five minutes talking to him where he said we only allowed two hours for 9 holes) my group played out hole nine and went to the clubhouse where we looking at the clock and we realized it was only 12:57 was was ten mins past. Granted yes we was ten minutes behind but if we was not being harassed by the GM, who was around the golf himself, while being on the clock and stop to allow other go play ahead of us we would have been on time. Then when I went inside to grab a drink and ask a few questions I was informed that the gm was not there and the assistant manager was but he was playing golf I feel like the situation could have been handled better but he was rude and trying to rush us because he wanted to play golf. So I would only recommend playing this place if you want to be harassed and not have a good time.

So we tried to play a round of golf at this course. It was raining that morning so we was a little late to tee off. By hole 8 the assistant gm came to us and told us we need to let people pass due to not keeping pace of play. By hole 9 he did the same thing ( we wasn’t playing fast enough for him cause he was on his break). He informed us that it is 2 hours for 9 holes and by the time we got to the club house we were 10 minutes past the 2 hour mark in which we started late due to rain. Can’t play a nice round a golf with out someone trying to rush you. Made it a terrible experience and I will not be back.

This is a decent course for higher handicappers but can also be a challenge from the back tees if you're good enough to accept the challenge. The layout is a lot more hilly than your typical Florida golf course which I really liked the most. The course could use a little better maintenance in some areas and the greens were just ok. Hopefully they can make them better but as long as the price doesn't skyrocket like everything else seems to be nowadays, I'll keep coming back to play.

OVERPRICED!!! $45 to play in the afternoon on a course that is not in good shape. The greens are being taken over by crabgrass and some greens don’t even have grass on it. You have to pick your ball up and more it to an area that has grass on it to putt. Cart’s are old and the brakes are terrible on them. The staff are very nice but that’s about the only bright spot for this place. I played at a different course the next day in the afternoon for $37 that have greens in great shape and have new carts with GPS on them. Not sure about coming back.

In the words of Roger Daltrey "we won't be fooled again".
Overpromised and under delivered. I must admit I bought into the hype despite the recent reviews. Then bam, I witnessed it for myself. I will say this is a big golf course. 6400 yards off the white's with a 127 slope and it played every bit of it. While it did have some character (The signature hole was pretty neat.) with the hills, it was also somewhat nondescript. Lots of blind shots, just hit it over that hill, aim at the red barn. But the real disappointment was the green conditions. #14 and #18 were fine. The rest left lots to be desired. Several were full of bend crab and #11 was abysmal, SMH! Overall what was the upside (layout) was overridden by the greens conditions. At $50.00+ I have to pass unless something changes.

I will start by saying staff is very friendly! The course however, is not in good shape...I had to move the ball 15-20 yards in every fairway to find grass. They have lost thier greens...all crabgrass and bare spots on every green. I have played temporary greens in better shape than these. The cart I was operating had no parking brake so every slight incline I had to fight to keep the cart from rolling downhill..and to top it off I paid $100 for 2 people to ride 18 at 3pm....on a weekday. Full price for a course in this condition?? Too many other courses in the area in much better condition and better prices.

Not worth the current prices. Course is in very poor shape and their greens need some serious work, more than just your standard summer punch. Most fairways are spotty at best. We set a group rule early on that if you found one of the many dead spots you get a free move to actual grass as close as you can. The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review is the friendly employees and nostalgia. Played many rounds at The Rock over the years but $60 for downright poor conditions might’ve been the nail in the coffin for my time there.

Taking a week from work for a "staycation", and day one had to be a round of golf, right?
Booked our tee time for 3 online with no technical issues.
Arrived early to get some warm up time in and get the lay of the land since it is our first time.
Have to say the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Starter did a great job of pacing the groups, even though it wasn't extremely busy for a Friday morning.
Pace of play was perfect on the front nine. Back nine, we did get a little stacked up from a slow playing group 2-3 ahead of us, but where is there a place that this never happens?
Huge props to the regulars in the group behind us that gave us some tips, and for noticing that two of us were southpaws.
Overall the course is very fun to play. Front nine does lull you into a false sense of security with some wider forgiving fairways and receptive greens. The back nine will bite you in the tail if you aren't careful. Nice mix of challenges though.
One improvement I would recommend is on the course mapping. Card and tee placards are a little deceiving for direction. There were a couple holes that we weren't exactly sure where to play, especially number 10. Number 10 isn't a dog leg right, it's a freaking 90 degree right hand turn. Luckily, I hit what I thought was a bad shot, and ended up with a decent look.
Course was a tad on the dry side. Also to be expected for this time of year in Florida. I don't know how the Hillsborough County irrigation rules apply to golf courses, even though the course states they use reclaimed water.
Bunkers were in decent shape. I was fortunate enough to test 3 of the out (yes, that was sarcasm on my part).
There was some general landscape and tree trimming work being done on the course.
Beverage cart passes were on par (nice). Did grab a couple dogs and a double Maker's Mark at the turn. Snack/bar prices were reasonable.
In fact, green fees were fine, in my opinion. I see so many people bashing businesses for the prices. It cost money to run a business, chill out. These were reasonable for the type of course, time of year, and under the current economy.
Overall, we enjoyed the day and will definitely play the course again.
Nice job!

If you are on Vacation and want to golf, DONT GO HERE! Bloomingdale’s played much better and is also local. I didn’t like paying 40$ to rent actual children’s clubs and other clubs that they found in their lost and found. Worst rental situation I’ve seen in the state. Felt like (and was) a total money grab. Bloomingdale’s will rent you a $2000 set down the street. Take your money there. I love playing this course, it’s not the cheapest around but in my opinion with the staffing and the up Lee I think it is worth the price. I’ve been golfing here for about 3 years now off and on and still enjoy the layout of the holes here. Not overly challenging but isn’t a short easy course. Enjoyable!

We have lived in the area for several years and this was the first time playing Diamond Hill. I really liked it a lot! It is a great layout and is in very good condition! There is water but it doesn’t come into play a lot. It is a more open course and forgiving which is great for a golfer like me. Wait till you see the par 3 hole 15! It has an elevated tee with water between the tee and green! Very cool hole for flat Florida. The golf carts are newer, modern, and in excellent condition. There is a driving range and practice green right next to the clubhouse. Enjoyed it so much we are going back again with our sons over Thanksgiving break.

Someone needs to regulate players. We are spending 15-20 min at every hole waiting. 4.5 hours into the round on hole 11. There’s a 6 some with 4 carts in front of us and they aren’t letting anyone through.

Last weekend was my 1st time playing here and I will definitely be back again. The course staff was great and the beverage cart was available numerous times during our round.

A challenging golf course at a fair price. Open fairways allow for all levels of play. The course layout, elevated greens and strategically placed sand traps challenge even low handicap players.

Very nice course for the price. This is our go-to course that we enjoy playing the most with their long par 5 (should be par 6 lol) and the iconic par 3 from atop a hill hitting down to the green. Staff is always helpful and always a good time. We have played here dozens of times and always have a good experience (my golf scores could be better though! Lol)

Had a great experience at Diamond Hill. Found the course in great shape with Very nice greens. played on a Friday and possibly in the middle of a tournament. Nevertheless, things went very smooth and our foursome had a great time. A little pricey, but a sign of the times. Would definitely come back.

Pretty nice greens. Employees seemed nice. My biggest complaint, they don’t have left handed clubs for rent. You’re a large club, you should have left handed clubs. The young man working the front desk, was great and refunded us the rental and gave us a medium bucket of balls so I could hit with the right handed clubs.

It was terrible!! Harry was trying to run us off and had an attitude since the 1st tee. We waited 45 mins for rain to pass then we finally tee off around 4:15. We have played here in the past and were told 8:15 carts back... Harry asked how many we were playing we said as many as we can with the weather. Will definitely be back by 8. Oh you better be back before then. All 3 of us thought we paid for a round of golf. Then we are greeted by Harry at the 10th tee. Y'all only paid for 9... No we thought we paid for 18. Okay I'll take your word for it. I said I'll check my account and if not will make it right. Oh, don't do all that... Then he shows up at the 11th green. No y'all only paid for 9 holes... Okay, we wanted 18 and were not asked how many holes or given a reipct for what we paid. If I had to worry about the cost of a round of golf, I shouldn't be playing. So, we didn't pay attention to what we paid. Instead of letting us settle up and finish the round he ran us off and said that wasn't an option. It was terrible service all the way around and didn't feel welcomed from the beginning. We will never play here again. It's a same cause it's a decent course. Good luck! Buyer beware and make sure you know what your paying for or getting cause they don't.

This is without doubt a nice course. The gentleman at the pro shop and the starter were very friendly. I have played here for years and I have never seen the course in better shape. It’s far from perfect, but besides a few sandy greens and sand traps that have water in them, the course is on all around good shape. They also have a beverage card with a friendly attendant on the course now.
The course is long and challenging, but tons of fun to play. It has two holes that you tee off over water and many sharp doglegs.

Brutally slow. They put me a single after a shotgun group playing for a couple of thousand dollars in prize money. I waited every hole. Every shot. When I got to the sixth hole there was a group on the green and two groups ahead of me on the tee. They need to be more circumspect about sending a single out under these conditions. ( There were two other singles out behind me.) On the plus side, they issued a rain check (for 12 holes). They need to pair up singles, send them out ahead of these groups, schedule the tournaments for weekdays, or at least advise singles calling in that it's going to be brutally slow before taking their money.

My wife, aunt and I played Diamond Hill GC Feb 2, 2021. Pulling into the course at bag drop, we were pleasantly greeted by a gentlemen who unloaded our clubs for us and placed them on the carts. Club house employees were very professional and friendly. We had a wonderful time playing this course. It is tough, but yet fair. The downhill Par 3 (over water) was a delightful challenge. Fairways and Greens were in excellent shape. Greens rolled true and fast. Very Nice. We had the opportunity to meet the Owners. They were very nice and it was apparent they genuinely care about the customer experience. We highly recommend anyone in the area play this course you will not be disappointed. Thank you.

Fairways and greens could use a lot more up keep. And they must be desperate for business when they line up five 2-somes in a row, and when you call the clubhouse to ask the ranger to come out and speed play up you get no results. We watched more people quit early and leave compared to the amount of people finishing 18 holes. We will not be playing this course again while we here for ten weeks. Maybe 2022 will be a better time to play this course

Love this place but cannot believe they are trying to charge players for individual golf carts when you are playing with others that are not in your household during this unprecedented rise in covid. Other courses are still staying catious without charging their patrons for the doing the right thing. Disappointing.

I played last weekend and I could not have been more disappointed. The tee boxes had divots so deep you couldn’t find flat area on most holes to hit a driver (how do golfers make a divot with a driver)?!?! Additionally, several greens were in abysmal shape, especially #17... The green had craters so big it looked like it was the aftermath of a minefield!
I played this course in 2007ish and was blown away by the gorgeous landscape and elevation changes for a Florida golf course.
#16 has the potential to be the most beautiful and challenging hole in all of Florida, but the course needs a lot of love and a ton of money to be decent.
