Disappointed After a Great Start

We enrolled our daughter when she was 3 years old, and her first experience in the Baby Cats (3–4 year olds) class with Coach Niurka was absolutely amazing. Coach Niurka was compassionate, attentive, and genuinely cared about her students. She made sure they were learning, progressing, and most importantly—safe and confident.

Unfortunately, everything changed when our daughter moved up to the Baby Cats (5-year-olds) class. The new coach never even learned her name. Our daughter was often left alone to attempt stunts without supervision, and at one point, she actually injured herself. What shocked us most was that the coach was wearing dark sunglasses indoors and seemed completely disengaged—focused on something else entirely. I have video evidence of this incident.

When I voiced my concerns at the front desk, the owner was sitting right there and didn’t even acknowledge me. It was clear at that moment: once your child moves up, they’re no longer seen as individuals—just another number.

We’re heartbroken because we started with such a positive experience. I hope this feedback encourages the leadership to take safety and communication more seriously—every child deserves to be seen and cared for, no matter their level.

Esta semana fui a una prueba, mi hija está en natación y baile y quería probar gimnasia, Google y por la ubicación agende una clase de prueba. Nunca mi hija (q tiene dos años en una academia de baile, donde trata con varias profesoras) y está en clases de natación ha tenido problemas. Fuimos a este lugar y terrible, una clase donde la entrenadora q tenía un grupo de niños de 5 años era apática, estiraba a las niñas de mala gana les daba instrucciones de la peor manera, yo creo en la disciplina pero no así! Una cosa es ser exigente y otra mal educada. Al ver q mi hija cada vez su expresión corporal iba empeorando no sintiéndose cómoda, le pedí a la muchacha del front desk que porfa la sacara q mi hija no estaba cómoda, ella salió, le dije q si lo quería volver a intentar y me dijo q no q no le gustaba el lugar. Agarre a mi hija y nos fuimos. Luego fuimos a otra academia y ella quedó enamorada, otro trato, más enfocado a hacer que la niña de 5 años esté cómoda y le guste el deporte. Así que no lo recomiendo con mucho pesar mi experiencia fue muy mala. Mi hija nunca llora… y acá lloro se cerró…la entrenadora lo peor.

Went there to get information about "recreational classes" for my 13-year-old daughter. We were mistreated, and practically told to leave.
In their website it literately says: " Recreational classes offer a fun an INCLUSIVE environment where gymnastics enthusiasts OF ALL AGES and ABILITIES can experience the joy and benefits of the sport."
The front desk lady told us (to my daughter's face) that if she was 13, she CAN NOT enter the academy. That she won't learn anything, and that they won't even let her do a tryout class.
This is how Sports bullying starts. This is how children are treated even before they put a foot on the door. You should be ashamed!

My granddaughter has been taking classes at EGA and loves it. She likes everything about, and mostly all of her amazing teachers from her first, Coach America to her current coaches whom all have been a huge part in her loving the sport even more which says alot. But I cannot not mention Yoanka, who is an amazing asset to EGA, she's a workhorse with a beautiful smile on her face day in and day out. Kudos to her!

I don't understand why a place offering gymnastics classes would have a summer camp program for 4-6 year olds where the instructor recommends children bring tablets. It defeats the purpose of the camp if they spend the day on tablets instead of participating in the activities parents paid for.

My 4 year old daughter has been taking classes for several months and today she had a substitute teacher, Gigina. My daughter hesitated to enter the class for the first time ever and Gigina did not have an ounce of patience and love towards her. In a bad tone and manner immediately told her to step out of the classroom if she did not want to participate, my daughter went into the class but suddenly she was expulsed by the teacher. Her regular teacher is very loving and kind to all her kids. Gigina thinks this is a military academy. It is a shame to have the wrong people working with kids. In this business, if you are not willing to be kind and patient with kids, they should not hire this type of people. I am very disappointed.

Beginning of 2022 my daughter, who was 4 years old, came from Tumblebees Gymnastics to EGA, I was looking more of a challenge for her and to advance her skills. Once she did the trial class they told me she was going to be in Team Xcel Bronze. The first two weeks I was impressed by the workouts, I knew I made a good decision for her. Coach Marilin and Paola are the absolute BEST! They build a great bond with the girls. They know how to be firm and how to communicate with the girls. While at practice the girls do a lot of conditioning which helps them in skill development. During the 2023 competition season my daughter won 1st place at the Florida State Meet. The coaches work hard on the girls and it shows! My daughter tells me she loves her coaches and her friends. The gym is always clean, including the bathrooms, there’s enough seating and parking and they have a lot of equipment for training. I highly recommend EGA!

Acabo de salir de esta academia , mi hija tiene 4 años y la profesora que da esta clase es una abusadora no respeta a las niñas con mala aptitud discrimina a las niñas en una clase de prueba de 45 min no le da oportunidad a las niñas a desarrollarse en minutos es imposible q se ajuste a su clase . Grosera con los representantes. Mi hija viene de balance gymnastic con éxito en todas sus clases y prestando atención. .. es el peor lugar para llevar a sus hijas . When I called the academy's front desk to seek clarification, I was met with complete bewilderment and a lack of accountability. Despite confirming the availability, they offered no justification for the rejection and seemed disinterested in resolving the issue. To make matters worse, attempts to communicate with the business owner have been met with silence, leaving me feeling unheard and unimportant as a customer.

My primary concern here is not just the inconvenience caused by the rejected booking, but the utter lack of transparency and accountability in the academy's practices. As a parent who values their child's physical and emotional well-being, I trusted this academy to provide a positive and reliable experience, only to be met with disappointment and unprofessional behavior.
It is disheartening to witness such negligence and a blatant disregard for customers. My intent in sharing this review is not to spread negativity but to call attention to the urgent need for improvement within Elite Gymnastics Academy Doral. I sincerely hope that the business owner takes this feedback seriously and implements measures to address the flaws in their system and customer service.

As parents, we invest our time, trust, and money in our children's activities, expecting nothing less than honesty, respect, and professionalism in return. I urge Elite Gymnastics Academy Doral to reevaluate their policies, train their staff to handle situations responsibly, and provide clear and honest communication with their customers.

Until I witness genuine efforts to rectify these issues, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Elite Gymnastics Academy Doral to any other parents seeking a nurturing and reliable environment for their children's development.

Personally I went here when I was about 9-10. I did not like the coaches because they seemed very forced to to things. At the time I had pretty short hair, a little above my shoulders. I had a MALE coach say that my ponytail was not good enough and proceeded to take my ponytail out and redo it himself without my consent. I won’t take away the fact that I did learn quite a bit in a year. But I do believe they could to much better.

Unfortunately this was not the best experience for my three year old, I think this may be a good place for bigger kids but not toddlers. The teachers seem to hate kids wont even make eye contact, no smile nothing, I had to witness myself the teacher basically screaming a 4 year old because she cried about something. Not the right approach to handle kids, I hate to do this types of review but honestly I wish someone see this and takes actions on the teachers behavior.

As a new parent, nothing was explained to me or another mom about payment due, how payments are made ext. Of course I get a call saying now I have to pay 20.00 for late fee.

EGA is one of the newest gimnastic in Miami, where they offer the best equipment to achieve the results in a easy and fast way. They also offer KARATE DO inside, it's a different bussines from EGA, I heard they have more than 30 years of experience in the karate world. I have seen their classes and they are terrerific! I highly recomend to anyone looking for a martial art like this in this karate academy.

Registre a mi hija de 3 anos en la clase de gimnasia para toodler, con el fin de que mi hij practicara un deporte y aprendiera a seguir instruciones, y desafortunadamente, tube una experiencia MUY DESAGRADABLE cuando una de las instructuras llamada Yiyi de Nacionalidad Venezolan, tomo de la mano a mi hija a la fuerza tumbandola porque la nina salio corriendo a la puerta antes de que ella dijera que la clase habia terminado, NO EXISTE NINGUNA JUSTIFICACION PARA QUE NINGUN ADULTO y menos alguien a quien debe de llamarsele INSTRUCTOR, ensene queriendo poner su fuerza y autoridad sobre un nino, aun estoy a la espera de que ALGUIEN DE LA ADMINISTRACION SE DIGNE AL MENOS DE OFRECER UNA DISCULPAS

I was outraged with the rude, disrespectful, and erratic behavior by the manager. Her customer service skills were below zero. Her phone skills extremely in need of training. Her language barrier makes her limited to receiving help to better the company. Not only was I not given support in admitting my child for the first time. Instead I felt attacked, ridiculed and mistreated indirectly while speaking with other staff members. I was weary my daughter would be labeled because her public display of no customer skills/public skills. I could have been a good source of reference. But with that treatment, that will be very much unlikely. I will have child complete her classes and never look back.

Don't get fooled by nice looking facilities! The owner and the office staff are very rude and disrespectful . They changed the rules and policies ridiculously without notification. They charged me one full month tuition on december and made two weeks vacations. There were no make-up classes no matter what! They answered me back insanely that they followed the dade county school calender because they are "school" too. If school has a breaks, the EGA has breaks at the same amount of tuition as other months.( they even closed the classes due to celebrate the halloween!)The more your children stay there, the more you wast in the way of time, money and your children's talents. The coaches are changed too often in their conveniences. Competition is in 3 weeks but the coach still can't give a full length of routine to the students. I am very disappointed how poorly they treat the children. Even a staff smokes at the main gate where children come and go, while they call themselves"School". They don't even know what the school means and dishonor the school.

I've been taking both my son & daughter since may of this year 2015. All of a sudden that classes fall on a holiday they don't allow you to make them up even if you paid for the entire month. This is absurd. I understand if they miss their weekly scheduled class do to our own accord and do not reschedule, but if they choose to close they shouldn't penalize my kids & take my money on top of that.

To top it off, they don't give me an option to pay weekly, I have to pay $150/month at the beginning of the month. So if I pay the month of December in full & they decide to close for the holidays, I'm f-ed and loss out on what I pay.

Highly disappointed & considering pulling them out of this Academy.

My daughter joined this gym about 2/3 weeks ago through a Groupon deal. So far she loves it. The coach is so sweet and patient and has a way of keeping the girls interested and paying attention, which is difficult enough for 5 year olds. Once the groupon deal is over I am definitely registering her for the classes so that she can continue going. She absolutely LOVES it.
