We started at the beginning of the 2023 year on a whim. My child had been involved in many school and recreational sports and we encountered bullying and lack of structure with all. I looked up local karate locations on a whim and we went in to watch a class. The Shihan-dai was INCREDIBLE from the start before we'd even began in engaging my child directly. It was THEIR responsibility from the start to engage and not mine and Shihan-dai helped them engage and jump right in. Shihan-dai's son, is also my child's sensei and they work so hard to connect with them and help them progress. Both Shihan-dai and his son and the other senseis take an incredible amount of time to work with my son. They are understanding and so supportive. My child was so ecstatic recently when they worked through their first assessment for their first colored belt with sensei Duncan.

I kept my child out of class as a punishment. The next class, the sensei and shihan-dai were adamant if punishment was needed, bring them in. They would assist in constructive discipline. And they did.

The whole team is incredible here. Great role models. Consistent discipline and life direction. This school is not in it for the money. They are in it for the art and belief in what karate embodies and our family is hooked. Thank you to this entire team and family. They have no idea how much impact they've had on our lives in such a short time.

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese style karate look no further. The people here are passionate and it shows in their teaching. My 9-year-old has been enrolled for only 2 weeks now and already there is a shift in his attitude. He actually wants to go here. Everybody is super nice and the price is very comparable to other. Way cheaper than martial arts world. UPDATE: A year later and they are still awesome. They don't just promote everyone just to earn the extra money for the belt and promotion, the kid has to earn it and continue to earn it in order to keep it. These people are definitely not after your money. They are in it for the right reasons. We feel blessed to be a part of the Karate family with many wonderful people. THANKS SCOTT AND DENISE !

The Family Karate Center has an outstanding program for everyone. I have been in the adult classes mostly on Wednesday and Thursday. I have lost weight and gained strength. Scott, Denise, Duncan, and Logan are all dedicated instructors. I encourage you to attend!

My boys started here about 6months ago. My sons love it. It's a family atmosphere, the Siense's are extremely knowledgeable, Siense Scott has changed my sons lives for the better through mentoring and guidance during every class, they care for the child as a whole. They are in it to make a difference in people's lives.
