Can’t say enough good things about this place! With my two previous pregnancies, I had gestational diabetes. For this third pregnancy, I really wanted to do something different, so I decided to work on my fitness and nutrition. I saw the great reviews with FitnessRx and decided to give them a shot. So glad I did because I just passed my gestational diabetes test with flying colors for the first time because of my fitness and nutrition plan.

The owner, Jay, really cares about his clients’ success and it shows in his individualized care plans that reflect your personal goals and concerns. I naturally approach things with skepticism, but I am so glad I just decided to try him out and see the great results for myself (and for you!)

Three months ago I started a nutrition plan and signed up for 1 day of personal training a week. My goal is to improve my health. Last week my doctor took me off of my diabetes medication. I have lost 18 lbs. Jay is very knowledgeable about nutrition and how to lose weight the right way. I highly recommend him.

By far the best facility around, great location,friendly staff, complete equipment. From the ownership, to management, to the trainers, by far the nicest and most knowledgeable staff in the business today. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fitness RX Studios to anyone. This place and these people are just great! I first found them online when searching for a fitness problem with a trainer; experienced in training customers with severe back pain. It was shortly after that I got the pleasure of working with Sarah who was absolutely terrific. She was not only a trainer but a motivator, coach, supporter and ultimately a friend! Her and her husband have a great program here in St. Pete and it truly would be a disservice trying any other local fitness programs! They are more than effective here and the give you multiple reasons why you should keep coming back. As for my back pain, it has dramatically decreased thru Sarah’s careful and strategic planning of each session and even adding some take home ones to keep me moving in and out of the gym. Rx is the place to be at and where they treat you like family, especially when you need them the most!

I worked with Sarah for 3 months. She is awesome 🥰 and very knowledgeable. She incorporates fitness and physical therapy. I was having back issues, with spasms. My spasms were completely gone when I finished my sessions. She truly cares about her clients and is dedicated to helping you get better and stronger. Sarah and her husband are a fantastic team!!

So glad that my husband and I have found Fitness Rx Studios. We really appreciate the special attention he gives us and our special needs. My husband had a stroke several years ago, and he has kept him healthy and moving. I am more agile and fit than ever before. Jay is so kind and caring. He's like our family now. If I could give 10 starts I would, Jay is helping me transform my body and lifestyle. Today I went in after not seeing him for a week and my hip was in pain to the point I couldn’t even walk fast and he stretched it out and within 10 min I felt 100% better and got right back to lifting. Jay is a miracle worker !

Wonderful atmosphere. Both trainers extremely knowledgeable in both fitness and nutrition. Flexible hours. Each session is one on one with no one else in gym. Emails with nutrition guidelines very helpful. They even created workouts for me to do while on vacation. Highly recommend!

I came to Jay skeptical, after 2 very bad car accidents, one resulting in a coma and year in bed, I tried everything, for years. Chiropractors, gym memberships, physical therapists, home remedies, yoga counseling, all failed to correct my injuries. By the time I found Jay just 5 weeks ago I couldn't even stand straight up for 60 seconds without extreme lower back pain, my knees would buckle when I walked, I couldn't even lift a box over my head or turn my head all the way to the side, and now, only 5 weeks later, I have a range of movement I never thought possible again, as well as virtually no lower back pain when standing, and for the first time in over 8 years have confidence in my body and future achievements. Jay takes the time to learn every single specific of your body, and has constructed a perfect plan that has showed major results! I am so thankful, and will always highly recommend him and his studio, and will continue going for years to come! Training, corrections, nutrition, he has all the info to make you the you that you desire to be!

I turned 50 a year ago and met Jay as a older person who worked out and not happy with how I looked, ached and pains in knees and weak upper body. I explained to Jay that I have been working out for years but still not happy with my results and my knees were getting worse. He than put me on a training and meal plan. Within 6 weeks I lost weight build muscle and started to see my body change for the best. My husband who I have been with for over 30 years agrees this is the best I have ever looked. I am a 41 year old man. I work a job that has an inconsistent schedule where I stand for 11-12 hours at a time and people like me routinely develop repetitive motion injuries. I was at the point that after working a couple of shifts I would have sore legs, a numb right shoulder, muscle aches down one side. My weight was creeping up. My metabolism was fundamentally broken from eating inconsistently and without any planning (another byproduct of my job). I found FitnessRx when I finally decided that I didn't want to be crippled in another 10-15 years of abusing my body without taking care of it. Met with Jay and talked about my goals. While they do train figure/bikini/bodybuilders, aesthetics has never been my goal. I wanted to get my metabolism right and get in better overall shape to minimize the damage my job was doing to my body. I had VERY little experience in a gym so the personal attention was required to ensure that I didn't break myself trying to do things the wrong way. I have been with FitnessRx for 4 months now. We started with nutrition planning which is based on REAL SCIENCE, no Dr. Oz baloney here. I have enough of an educational background in this area to know that the concepts they use are legitimate and not the result of any fads or trendy diet plans. As for training, I went through the first week of my twice-weekly sessions doing something of an "evaluation" where we worked together to determine where I was at physically. From there, I moved to an integrative exercise program- some weights here and there, but lots of different exercises to develop core stability and muscle coordination. These were core needs for me because the whole point of my working with Jay was to develop overall physical health and limit my potential for injury in the future. Once I graduated from this stage we switched focus to more weight training, which is where i'm at right now. I'm never going to be a fitness model, but that was never my goal. If I was shooting for aesthetics i'm sure Jay could get me there (i've seen it in some of his other clients.) I already am working pain-free, am lighter on my feet, have better energy and stamina, and eat good food in enough quantity the I never feel like I'm on a diet (thats because it's not a diet, its eating correctly!). Throughout the whole process, every day I felt confident that what I was doing was planned with MY specific goals in mind. I am sure Jay actually really cares about what he's doing and gets great joy in seeing success stories. The guy genuinely likes his job and it shows. I definitely feel like I made the right decision choosing FitnessRx and would recommend them without question.

I have been a client at Fitness Rx Studios for the past seven months preparing for my first figure competition. The attention to detail and passion they have for their clients exceeded all of my expectations. Sarah accompanied me to purchase my shoes and made sure the measurements for my suit were perfect. I can always count on Jay for an honest opinion and follow-up phone calls to make sure I'm adjusting well to any changes. I couldn't imagine going through this process with any other trainers. They are family oriented and allowed my daughters to accompany me for check-ins, so they could be apart of my transformation. I recommend them all the time to my friends that are interested in competing.
