The childcare was the selling point for us. We were hesitant about how it would work with our 7mo baby, but Karen encouraged us that babies get used to it after several times so we went ahead did the 2 year plan because it’s the best deal and we intended on being regulars. There was no trial period option. We tried to make it work for 4 months but our baby would cry hard and we could only workout one at a time. We wanted to cancel for now and return when he gets older. Once we communicated that, we were no longer getting prompt responses from Karen and learned there was no flexibility on the cancellation fees. We signed the contract so we take responsibility, but we won’t be returning.

It is an excellent place to go workout and that is why I give it 5 stars, but the only thing I would add to the gym would be a chest press and a hacksquat like the big one, but the rest is perfect.

The gym is clean, and the Tioga location is never packed, which is nice. However, I’m giving 3 stars because of the disappointing class experience. While they claim to offer amazing classes, I’ve never been able to find a realistic yoga class that doesn’t cater exclusively to an older crowd.

Additionally, the temperature in the classrooms is an issue. I’ve tried attending some classes, but the rooms were freezing cold, which is not ideal for yoga—especially for a Vinyasa class that’s supposed to be slightly warm to help loosen the joints. I ended up walking out because it was so uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, due to these issues, I won’t be renewing my membership after this year.

I've been a member of GHFC since December 2008. I go 6 times a week, 3 days a week doing weights, and 3 days a week doing group classes along with some cardio on various days. Prior to moving Gainesville, I was a member of a gym in southeast Florida for 29 years. GHFC is a superior gym with 3 locations from which to choose. All locations provide weights, cardio equipment and a large variety of classes. I am completely pleased with everything available and with all staff members. I have also made a number of "gym" friend over the years. GHFC is truly a very important part of my life.

GHF Tioga is wonderful! GHF has the nicest staff, cleanest equipment, and best atmosphere. The Tioga location is great for people who work a tight schedule because it is generally less crowded so you can get in to do your workout without having to wait for machines or equipment. They have a variety of group classes which are a lot of fun. I highly recommend GHF Tioga!

So I used to like attending the gym but gainesville health and fitness either needs more locations or all of their locations need to be 24 hours a day and also available to anyone. The problem is I hate walking into a gym and it feels like disney world or Miami during rush hour.

Maybe limit the amount of memberships sold and Raise prices. I can tell you this it needs to be more people friendly.

Yes I have been to the main and this location. I normally miss sleep in order to go to the gym at 2 am so it's peaceful. At 5 am at the main location it is light a lightswitch and people flood in from then to only God knows what time at night it stays packed.

This location I know they aren't as busy when they open. But I am not sure in the afternoon I know I have seen it quite busy inside.

Anyways rant over. I just wanted to put that out their for people to think about before signing up.

I have belonged to ghf for over 20 years. I paid my plan off and only pay 22$ per month. I have to drive 20 miles each way. With 3 locations, it is still convenient to anywhere I have to be in Gville.. Their equipment and available classes are second to none and even if I can't make it, I feel I am paying for someone's free babysitting so they can worlout. That is a win win for me.

You'll be lucky to read this they cancell all bad reviews, but I'll keep writing them.I signed for one year. One. I never even used it more than maybe 15 times. You can barely find parking, much less get a super sweat soaked machine.I paid for over a year as scheduled with my debit card. I lost my debit card, and had to replace it, gville health an fitness never called me or contacted me. I received a summons for court, only it was mailed to the wrong address. When I was contacted by a horrible attorney they use in gville I was one of hundreds of young people he takes to court daily, they ruined my credit put a Lien on my vehicle. Even after I sent the court an them the contract. the ownership and gville court system..........beware.

My wife and I have been going for over a year now. The gym is good, but there never seems to be enough benches and machines available. If you go right after work, forget it! They have great instructors and group workouts. The place is pretty clean, and it's on the expensive side.

I like the Tioga gym a lot. It is smaller than GHF Main Center, which means it is also lacking some of the amenities like the sauna and pool, but I also find it less crowded. I prefer this location because of the squat racks and the abundant cable machines. The front desk staff is always friendly!
