First of all, I am a real person writing this review and not a bot from a competitor gym posting fake 1-star reviews (you know who you are!)

Appreciate great customer service from Jane and her explaining all the class options in detail to me.

There is nothing better in Orlando area than this gym, easy to spend 3-5 hours per day because there is so much to do.

Somedays I only come in to use the hot tub, sauna and cold plunge. Therapy pool is also a win for me, it helps with my lower back issues. It is always clean, everything works and gets fixed quickly if broken.

Come here and you won't regret it! Best health club in Orlando.

Hands down best gym in Orlando area - they have everything you can think of. My favorite is cold plunge and the separate sauna and steam room for ladies only. I started playing pickleball a year ago and now can't stop - the addiction is real 😆

Genesis Health Club in Maitland is the real deal — hands down one of the best fitness facilities I’ve trained at in over 20 years of gym life. I’ve been to high-end gyms and budget spots across the country, and Genesis easily stands in a league of its own.

The amenities are unmatched: from early morning to evening, you’ve got nonstop options — HIIT classes, yoga, kickboxing, spin, and more. There are three swimming pools, pickleball and tennis courts, childcare, a massage spa, and state-of-the-art equipment across two floors under stunning cathedral ceilings. You’ll even find professional athletes and elite members training right alongside you that’s the level this club operates on.

And then there’s Sydni — the gold standard of fitness instructors. She looks the part, leads with confidence, and drives her classes with purpose and energy. Her workouts are structured, tough, and never redundant. She commands the room, pushes every member to their best, and creates a standard that others should aspire to meet.

That said, a couple of things could use attention: the men’s hot tub area could benefit from better enforcement of the no-nudity policy, and the handicap bathroom seat in the men’s locker room needs replacing due to wear. Small fixes for a club operating at this high level.

Overall, Genesis Maitland isn’t just a gym — it’s a full fitness experience. The energy, amenities, and professionalism here make it a place you actually look forward to coming to.

Very disappointing ... after being a member for more than 10 years including when gym was closed in pandemic, working out an average of 6 days per week I never got or asked for a free pass ... my cousin was visiting me 1 month ago for 1 week and they made me paid for a week pass for him when since Genesis any idiot with a cam get a free pass today ... PSA: FOR ANYONE EXISTING OR NEW THAT WANT TO JOIN. The gym membership here is a SCAM. I was told a membership price of about $130 a month but then the assistant manager (name is Jane, older woman) ended up saying she can give it to me for $15. This made me skeptical at first because why pitch a membership at $130 and then all of a sudden you’re able to jump so LOW to just $15 a month? Ok great. I then proceeded to sign up for $15 a month however, when I proceeded to enter the gym the next time and scan the little barcode membership card she gave me, i’m unable to enter!!! They’re claiming my account is frozen when I never froze it on my end so now I can’t even get in which is absolutely ridiculous. I basically signed up for a membership that can’t even be used because the assistant manager told me I’d only pay $15 a month but yet that membership card doesn’t even work because my account is magically frozen? This was very unprofessional and misleading as a customer and definitely gives “under the table” business. As someone who loves working out and enjoys going to a good gym, I was definitely taken aback. When I sign up for something, I go into it with a positive mindset, hoping it’s worth the money and the experience however, it was not that for me. I was questioned if I froze my account in which I never did… I don’t even know how to do that because there isn’t even an app that exists for this gym. It appears that to get me the $15 a month, the assistant manager had to have done something I was unaware of. In addition, I spoke to other gym members and apparently they go through the same issue but are then issued a small paperback card that serves as a “temporary membership card” that states your name and when it expires (the date they put for when it expires is just random btw). This is so misleading and very unprofessional. Why am I paying $15/month just to have a membership that’s technically TEMPORARY? This did NOT make me feel like I was part of this gym. As someone who was interested in maintaining a membership and feeling like I may have found my new gym, this was a complete turnoff and let down from the expectations I had and what she (assistant manager) had explained to me. I was given the impression that I now have a membership but yet, it’s really NOT an actual one because when you attempt to enter the gym - your account is “frozen” and your given a paper card that is just temporary… I mean unless you agree to pay the ACTUAL membership price of $130+, it’s just a waste of time and money tbh. I have happily canceled because of the misleading and false information given to me from the assistant manager. When I’m being told information, I expect it to be true especially from a business like this. I do not like my time being wasted. I mean the gym is beautiful but whatever scam process they’re using is NOT. I feel like this is not acceptable and was very unfair to me. & With situations like this - if I have the ability to offer actual advice from my experiences that could prevent anyone from going through what I went through, then I definitely will, hence why I felt the need to share this. I would hate for anyone to have to go through such a hassle and an unprofessional process like I did. No one should have to go through this during their first moments of using their “membership”. Management needs to get it together. I will not be coming back.

Fantastic Experience at Genesis Gym!

I recently moved down to Orlando from Toronto and decided to switch gyms after being underwhelmed with LA Fitness, and I couldn’t be happier that I found Genesis Gym. From the moment I walked in, David at the front desk made me feel welcome. He was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to answer all my questions about memberships and amenities. It’s rare to find someone so genuine and helpful right at the entrance he really set the tone for a great experience.

Jamie, the manager, was also incredible to work with. She took the time to show me around, explain all the membership options clearly, and make sure I felt completely comfortable. You can tell she truly cares about the members and the overall atmosphere of the gym.

The amenities are top-notch, clean equipment, spacious workout areas, and great locker room facilities. The overall vibe is motivating and welcoming, which makes a huge difference when you’re looking for a gym that feels like a community rather than just a place to work out.

Huge thanks to David and Jamie for making my experience so positive they’re the reason Genesis stands out. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a new gym!

Came for the Halloween skate. They are getting tighter and tighter this club. No prizes in the eve for kids who can’t come to the afternoon and still charge ridiculous prices. If you’re going to do a Halloween skate in the evening at least make the effort like I’m sure you did in the middle of the day. It’s crap. Don’t waste your money.

Absolutely love this place! My daughter really, really enjoys the teachers here at the care center - especially Ms. Whistling! She begs us to go almost daily, which is a huge motivator for us getting our work out in too. All the staff in the kid care center are so nice, friendly and welcoming. They truly go above and beyond to help you and your children feel comfortable - including mini activities, some crafts, and alot of play time.

The actual gym facility is top notch - it always has been. Classes are abundant, and the operating gym hours are reasonable. My only complaint is the multiple broken down treadmills, but at the same time brand new and updated modern machines were just added to the floor somewhere else, so I really cant complain much.

All in all, Ive been a member here for years and don't plan to change anytime soon.

Jamie was truly a veteran down at Genesis Sports complex in mainland. She intake process smooth and hassle free I couldn’t go anywhere else in a 150 miles radius. The gym and Kids Club are awesome. It is a world class facility, and the best part is the staff. They are very friendly, and it makes for a great environment. The Kids Club is fantastic. It is huge, and my kids LOVE it. They are constantly asking if they can go to the gym so that they can go to the Kids Club. ALL the staff members in the Kids Club are fantastic. Had an awesome experience at this gym today! Jane at the front desk was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me get a day pass so I could work out with my friend. The facility is top-notch — huge, clean, and full of great amenities like a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, cold plunge, and even towel service. The lockers with built-in codes are a nice touch, so no need to bring your own lock.
The gym also has amazing childcare, two big basketball courts, and tons of equipment. Only downside was one broken paper towel machine, but that’s a small thing compared to how great everything else was. Overall, an incredible gym — I can’t wait to move to the Orlando area and become a member!

(SAT) Initially, I was 51/49 to become a member, at the Genesis Health Club, getting the special (at the end of Sep 2025); while exploring my 3- day pass at the Health Club.

(UNSAT) BL: At the end of the day, I became 51/49 that I was NOT going to because a member (at this point), due to the assistant manager (i,e., female - short) at Genesis Health Club that was on a power trip and not applying common sense.

(SAT) Mark V was excellent recruiting representative for Genesis Health Club. He reached out, answered most of my question, was polite and responsive. I did received the month-to month costs and the annual cost regarding the special. The only thing I didn't get and I could not find it on the website was, what was the "normal costs throughout the year, "so I can make an informed decisions and see the real savings/costs. Also, the life-guard at the swimming pool was kind, polite and doing his job! Nonetheless, No issues there.

(SAT) During my 3-Day Pass, Genesis Health Club has a vast array of fitness equipment and programs. Great energy in the gym. I particularly, came to use the swim lanes, which were great 50m, but depending the time a day you arrive, the swim lanes can be pretty tight with people wanting to swim. I did enjoy the swimming, it was great. Also, I enjoyed the sunna, steam-room and the cold plunge. Awesome. No issues there.

(UNSAT) Second day visiting the Genesis Health Club to get a feel for the gym. The assistant manager (female-short) was on some sort of power trip or self-indulged, demanding me (Disabled VET, Senior Citizen, Retiree) to walk from the front desk, back to my car in the parking lot, back in the building - to get an identification (ID) card for entry, although 1) The first day, they did not ask me for an ID and I had access, 2) The first and second day, I had put all of my admin information in their key pad, and 3) I had explained to her, they didn't ask for ID the first day, my information is already in the system, are you are demanding for me go back to my car? She was dismissive of my needs and didn't listen to what I was asking her. She was too affixed on her power trip, authority, and saying this is policy, rather than "applying" a "vail of common sense." In my opinion, not a good way to attract new prospects that can increase profit for Genesis Health Club. Sounds like she pushed a disabled VET, Senior Citizen and Retiree, out the door, before he could even arrives in the facility to determine if it was a good fit for him or not. Being on a power trip and/or self-indulged is not a good look for Genesis Health Club and clearly not the type of leadership you want as assistant manager.

(UNSAT) When you arrive there, you let them know, you are on a 3 day free pass. Beside the first day gym orientation, which I understand & appreciate, (day 2 & 3) you should be able to get to your destination to start workout immediately to see if the gym is a right fit for you or not. The people at the front desk, have you standing there 5-7+ minutes (i.e. hanging out, waiting for a Rep), rather than letting you in the gym, so you can start your workout and determine if this is the gym for you or not. In addition, the confiscate your ID card like Genesis Health Club is a matter of National Security, showing a "lack of trust" with new prospect they are trying to get money from, so you may become members. It is a Health Club, not the Pentagon.

I would really like to recommend the yoga class on Monday at 6:35pm and Friday afternoon as well with my Yoga instructor VB!!! VB is so encouraging and offer us a chance for us a chance to clear the stress from work, life, and especially our devices which helps alleviate the negative energy throughout our days and week with his class! VB leads with his heart and his so encouraging to every level of yoga and personal health they anyone can take his class and not feel insecure as he is so welcoming. I wanted a unique birthday party for my kids where they would have a good time and it would not involve them being in front of a gaming screen. I decided to checkout Genesis Health Club-Orlando Sportsplex because I loved their pools and made an inquiry about having a birthday party. Nevaeh not only made it an easy process to plan but as a parent I felt that all the kids in attendance would be safe. She communicated with me the entire planning process and the day of the party. She helped to ensure that we had all we needed and that we were happy with the setup. The party not only consisted of the pool the kids could swim in, there was also a water slide in the outdoor area, a life guard, and tables and tent setup for the kids to eat cake and pizza in the shade. Nevaeh also helped the life guard watch over the kids and with her encouragement and guidance I watch my nephew who is terrified to swim embrace the pool and learn to swim. My guests left not only happy but throughly enjoyed the pool and gym experience. Thank you so much Nevaeh for making my kids birthday fun and special for them and my guests.

I have been a member here for many years and love it. When my daughters became interested in swimming several years ago I signed them up for lessons so they could learn their strokes. I have kept them in lessons to not only continue perfecting their strokes but also to keep them moving. Exercise is very important! They've had many instructors - Ruthanne, Sharon, Jerry, Nevaeh, Sam, Robin and David. They all have done a great job and I will keep signing them up because of it!

I started taking my son for swim lessons with Richel at 12 months old and he is now almost 18 months old and he has come such a long way! Putting my son in swim lessons was so important since we have a pool, and one of the best decisions we have made. Richel has been amazing from the get-go!! She is so good with my son, so friendly, caring, personable, skilled, and great with babies/kids and parents. Richel has helped my son feel so comfortable and achieve so much in the water, which has given me peace of mind. Now he loves the water so much he never wants to get out! We come here for the swimming lessons with coach Richel. She has taught both my daughters 8 and 5. They both improved their fitness and swimming ability as soon as we started lessons. After we came back from summer break, their teachers at school immediately noticed the improvement and asked my daughter to demonstrate the correct stroke technique to the rest of her schoolmates.

The girls love swimming with her and Richel always keep you updated with reminders and even lets you know afterwards how they did, what they worked on and what needs improvement!

I have a three-year and four-month-old son, and we have been attending swimming classes for over three months. Each class has been about 30 minutes once a week.

I am more than satisfied, happy, and grateful to the instructor Richel because she has managed to teach Bruno how to swim when he knew absolutely nothing before.

Bruno loves the water, he is not afraid, he swims and floats on his own. I absolutely recommend Miss Richel to anyone who wants to learn how to swim. She is very kind, has excellent technique, and an amazing way of approaching children.

This is my favorite place. Always clean and the natural light is what sets it apart from any other gym I’ve been a part of. The staff is really wonderful - faces like Jamie, Alex and Clem greeting you and making you feel like you belong. I always find Alex sanitizing the machines which brings peace of mind! The Kids Stuff Staff and amenities are what made us fall in love with this place. Miss Melissa, Janice, Nya, Maria, Haley, A-Love, Karen, Kim, Christian, Leona, Julia, Jasmine, l and more I’m missing! They’re all amazing and we feel so safe with our kids hanging out in a fun, screen-free environment. Highly recommend this place as it’s way more than a gym.

Naveah is an amazing swim instructor and manager. On a daily basis I see her meet clients needs. She is so patient and understanding. Naveah is also a solid leader who makes sure her lifeguards are properly trained and also taken care of as employees. Her ability to manage and teach is unparalleled. I love Genesis-RDV and Sarah Petrone! They have such an amazing facility with everything you could need and more. The best part is their personal trainers program. I’ve been working out with my personal trainer, Sarah Petrone, for a few months now and she is AMAZING!!! Extremely dedicated to my workouts and fitness journey during sessions and in between sessions. She’s always available for any questions and support I may need as well. She provides so many recourses and curated workouts that the progress is so impactful and successful. I really appreciate everything she continues to do for my workout journey. This is a great gym, so many things to do. After a rough start I am glad I stayed and found an amazing trainer in Sara. She works on my nutrition, fixes my form, cares about my success, holds me accountable and makes exercising fun. If you are looking for a trainer I highly recommend her.
