Updated review after 3+ years of classes:
More about memorization and rigid contracts than practical self-defense or flexibility.

If you’re looking for a program focused on discipline, this school may be a fit. However, if your priority is learning self-defense or how to handle bullying situations, this may not meet your expectations.

Instruction here emphasizes memorization of Korean terms and specific martial arts movements, but there is very little focus on practical application. Students have no contact with one another (even at higher ranks) and minimal practice using pads or bags. Events are poorly planned and very limited. The "annual tournament" is very small, has unfair judging, and consist of low-quality awards.

Families should also be aware of the contract terms. Memberships can not be paused for travel, summer breaks, or participation in other sports. In addition, cancellation fees are not applied consistently — while some families are charged two months’ fees, others have not been charged at all.

Overall, this program may work for those seeking structure and memorization-based training, but it may not be the best choice for families seeking flexibility, fairness, or a self-defense–focused martial arts experience.

Excellent instructor who is really great with the kids , very impressed with his teaching skills and it's flexible , my daughter has to go at least two out of 4 weekday after school classes (usually 3) so we have a little freedom to do other things after school too .

Our family loves GGKS! Raymond & Derek are excellent with the children and extremely respectful to not only us parents but also to the children. Although they are strict, they do have a fun/funny side to them that comes out sometimes which gets the kiddos laughing and feeling more relaxed.
They really are teaching them discipline & guiding them to be amazing martial artist. My daughter has learned so much in the short period of time she’s been there. She loves counting in Korean at home & showing off her “sick moves” as she calls it to our extended family 😂 I can tell my daughter has already gained more confidence thanks to Raymond & Derek!
Jennifer the front receptionist is also very pleasant! She always greets us with a smile, answers any questions we may have & is overall just a very sweet young lady.
The facility is always clean!! You can really tell they take pride in their business.

I have been taking my 2 kids here since the school open and I can't tell you how happy I am with this school. Both father and son along with teacher James have shown such patience and love towards all the kids. You can tell they truly love what they teacher and they love all the kids. I absolutely recommend this school if your kiddos want to try their luck in karate you wont regret it.
