Highly recommend skipping this course. Debbie in the pro shop was so helpful and nice, however the gentleman who was sitting out at the first tee and swung into the pro shop was incredibly rude. He pointed to us and yelled unacceptable at us when Debbie knew we were there to buy polos since we from out of town and didn’t have any on us. We called in advance to ask a ton of questions and make sure we were allowed to golf and felt comfortable, and this guy made us feel anything but once arriving.

I really hoped that I didn't have to make this review it saddens me to type this out... but this place has gone down hill fast since before this summer...

I will start with the greens are awful brown everywhere! Huge holes in the fairways not very pleasant to drive around all of them 😮‍💨 the super attendant (Rick) has been doing a awful job hint is why he got fired from the last 2 golf courses he has worked at... He is always drunk at work and slurs his words when you try and talk to him. it's not worth the money to play here, save your money to go to clermont national or anywhere else...

Also to finalize my review i want to bring up a guy that works in maintenance named (Ralph) he is very rude and he has been caught taking pictures of (children) minors on the property. It is NOT safe to bring your children around this place while he is there. This has been reported multiple times to upper management and nothing is being done about it. So as of now STAY AWAY from this place at all cost!!!

I've always enjoyed playing this course and have consistently found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. However, my experience on Tuesday morning was extremely disappointing.
When my daughter and I arrived to join another twosome, the starter was unnecessarily rude to my daughter and I. His behavior was so unprofessional for a starter on a course. What made it worse was that he spoke to us this way in front of other golfers waiting to tee off.
The starter position is crucial—they're the first impression players get and set the tone for the entire round. This individual needs serious retraining or should be removed from this customer-facing role. The way he treated us, especially my daughter, was completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on an otherwise great course.
I hope management addresses this issue with this individual.

I enjoy spending time at GVCC working on my game! The club has a decent short game area where you can pitch as long as about 100-110 yards, hit at multiple flags, and practice bunker shots out of two green side bunker on either side of the green. Bonus, if you are looking for lessons from a great golf coach then you have to see Russ! What an amazing man, he has tons of wisdom about the game of golf, personable, and an all around good guy! I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shoutout to Maureen! I can’t say enough about her, she’s the nicest woman I’ve met since moving to the area! Such a sweetheart! You won’t be sorry for swing through!

Realistically it’s a 3 star golf course. But I like to give the benefit of the doubt. The first three holes are a nightmare because they wrap around the driving range and are not well maintained. Combined with a lot of Cranes that shed feathers, good luck finding your ball if it’s not in the middle of the fairway. I found the rest of the course to be very creative and challenging. The bones of the course are solid and while many of the fairways and tee boxes are in subpar shape, it has so much potential. It’s a must play at least once and a great local course, but unless you live nearby not a course I would go out of my way to play.

Came back to one of my favorite courses. Used play out here all the time. It is one of the best kept golf secrets in the Orlando area. They have a nice driving range and a nice putting green complex for practice. The greens were immaculate. The course is challenging but fair. The course has elevation changes which effect your club selection which is rare in Florida. All the staff was super friendly. Grab the great wrap sandwich in the restaurant at the turn. All in was a great way to celebrate my birthday.

This course is a great value for the money. It’s very nicely kept it’s Green. It’s very affordable and it’s a nice layout. My only gripe with this course is that there’s so many people that enjoy playing it at the same time so the pace of play is slow.

Really fun layout and well worth the cheap price they charge. We paid $140 to play a different course two days earlier and I would choose Green Valley over that course every time. Also, and most importantly, the staff was so friendly here and was nothing but accommodating. We will definitely be returning to play again in the near future!

The people here are super friendly. It was my first time so the starter Mike got me prepped on the course and gave a few tips on the first few holes. I'm a new golfer and this course was a little challenging, but fun. The fairways are pretty wide and there's really no water until the 8th. I had a great time.

EDITED July 2024 - I AM SO proud of Green Valley Country Club and how far they have come since my below review. The course is in the best shape it’s been in for YEARS… New Greens Keeper (incredible) New GM (who is absolutely amazing), new upgrades on the course, driving range, clubhouse and in the pro-shop…. We were so pleased, we actually bought a membership and are proud to bring our clients, friends, and family out to play our home track. Keep it up, GVCC!!!

I can't believe I'm about to post this... and it honestly breaks my heart.... but I swear I will NEVER pay ANOTHER DIME to play at Green Valley Country Club again. Until they change their stubborn minds and actually sink some money into that golf course. What a shame it is to go to the course you've been playing on since you were 10 years old, play through the 11th hole and quit because it's in such horrible condition. When you're sticking fairways and greens and still have to hit every single shot off of sugar sand... you know it's time to find another home course. It's so sad because it really is a great track. They're lucky they have such a loyal group of players and that there are no other tracks left to play on in this town other than Legends, or they'd certainly be belly up by now. If they don't do something soon, all those people who live there are gonna end up just like Palisades ... with rear neighbors and townhouses. How incredibly sad.

John Jones is an amazing golf instructor. So patient, kind, and he really knows how to teach so kids feel engaged and actively learn. His lessons were worth every penny. The course is beautiful, the people are friendly, and I highly recommend these greens for parents looking for lessons or those just looking to play a round of golf somewhere peaceful.

I live around green valley...for 15 years or so I've played here..
Now the fairways on a few holes are patchy. But they just scarred em 3 weeks ago and are actively trying to repair them...the greens however roll very true..slow with the morning moisture but lightning fast in the afternoon. The staff is absolutely killer and the community is really good too with the exception of a few slow foursomes that never seem to want to let ya play through..but what course doesn't have that...if you play from the tips this golf course is incredibly challenging..even though it's only 6600 yds, what it lacks in yardage it demands it immediately back with strong shot shaping and absolute precision. Some tee boxes have such a tight driving window that you can't afford to be 3 or 4 feet off line..and you have to be working a fade or draw at that. The greens also demand respect, some of them being only 15x20 0r 15x15 yards wide protected well in some areas by bunkers in the front,side and rear of holes. Green valley is my home though..so I love it here

First off the starter was quite friendly and helpful and the clubhouse attendant was courteous as well. Otherwise this is the worse condition golf course I have ever played. The first three fairways are a disgrace with patches of dirt, grass and ruts. In fact to call them fairways is much too generous. I've never seen such horrid conditions. The course improved somewhat on the backside but still was quite rough. I will say that the greens were respectable but played quite slow. And there was decent sand in the traps, although quite hard, but the tee boxes were in horrible condition. I will never play this course again but will note that the potential is there to be a credible course if it were properly maintained.

The course layout is beautiful with lakes, hills and valleys. The front nine is very patchy and we almost got thrown out of the buggy with the bumps and holes. The greens had been recently hollow tined which made them very bumpy and erratic. The back nine is completely different, smooth fairways and reasonable greens. The main letdown was the men's restroom which was quite disgusting. Flies everywhere in the sinks, urinals which stunk, no paper either. Not a pleasant end to the round. We paid full rate for our round which was well over what it was worth.

Nice course, average condition. The pace of play was good on our Sunday afternoon visit. The greens were recovering from a late summer aeration but they rolled well and were surprisingly quick. Our visit was well worth the money spent, the pro shop staff was very pleasant and its a course I will play again.

Course was in good condition. There is some room for improvement. I was skeptical at 1st since I saw some bad reviews views that were posted 4 to 5 months ago. Those reviews could not be further from the truth. They completely criticized as golf course like it's like you were playing in a sand drop everywhere you went where there were no grass on the tee boxes and the greens. If that was the case there is no way to get the golf course in this good of condition in such a short time. Staff was great very friendly and the people in the restaurant were really awesome keep up the great work! I will be back!

Had a 11:15 AM 2/24/20 tee time, got off on time, even thought the course was busy. The course was in very nice condition. The fairways had some good grass on them and the greens were fast and true. I'd recommend this course and will be sure to put it on my replay list.

Fairways are well kept, but the roughs and trails are rather beat up. Dirt and mud abound in certain areas. Some long holes and some challenging uphill/downhill holes as well. Prices are fair, but wait times can get long here so call ahead for tee time. Yardage markers are insufficient in size, and a handful of greens were worn down. We visited here during the winter, so maybe the conditions improve after spring.

Overall enjoyed the round at Green Valley. Maintenance was lacking a bit as sand traps were not raked in the morning and weeds were present throughout the course, including patches on the greens. The setting on several holes is beautiful in the Clermont hills which makes up for some of the maintenance issues. Definitely felt like an older municipal course, but I'd play it again for the slope, scenery and elevation changes which are unusual in Florida.

Been playing golf for 60 years on both coasts and in-between. This was a new one on me. An incredibly rude elderly male employee accused me of not buying range balls to use at the chipping green. The green was already covered with range balls when I first arrived and like everybody else present, I was just using the ones that were already there--pretty standard in the golfing world (I have previously bought range balls to use at the actual driving range). He then went into a tirade about range ball theft and basically accused me of that too (imagine the effect a guy like this has on new and/or younger golfers). This club appears to be a "wanta be private" one that, contrary to their advertising, in reality doesn't want to deal with the public. I had planned to play the course after chipping practice, but needless to say, departed . Apparently their employees can't take their frustrations out on their precious "members" but feel free to do it on the public. Why take a chance on a truly negative golf experience ?

I'm a professional golf coach and just came out here to practice after work and there was no one here. I started putting and then I was chipping on the putting green, not bothering anyone mind you, and the cart guy came all the over to me and shouted at me to not chip. "Did you see the signs?!"
