My idea of the perfect gym!! During a little vaca in Ft Myers, Hammerhead Gym
was perfect for our daily lifting routine. Very easy to get a week’s pass online, download the app to use the Bluetooth to access 24/7 (like what? Is this is dream?) the facility itself has all the essentials you need to get a great workout, it’s clean, private, and comfortable. Will absolutely be back next time we are in town.

Easy location. The gym definitely does the job as expected for a 24/7 gym. I'm from Minnesota so to have easy access to a gym like this while in vacation is a huge PLUS. I have family on Sanibel and the only reason I started going here was because the Sanibel rec center was closed on Sundays. It has now become my main gym while vacationing in SWFL. Reasonably priced and has all the essential equipment for a good workout. There’s never been more than 4 people in the building when I’ve been there. A good gym that caters to the vacation crowd.

Hammerhead Gym met my needs quite nicely. I was looking for a gym to use for stretching, toning, increasing strength and cardiac exercise. The only equipment I would have liked that wasn't there, were machines that emphasized the abdominal mm. and lower back. There are other benches and free weights and universal gyms that can provide that training. I like Hammerhead gym.

Love having a gym close by that is open when I want to go. Plus, with various equipment I enjoy using like the Smith machine, TRX, rowing machine, stair master, and other common stationary machines for leg, shoulder, arm, and back exercises. Impressive in such a small facility!

Great gym to get a vacation workout in. Prepare to wait for the lone 45lb bar if ur lifting though. There’s a 33 pound bar too but that changes the feel of things. But for a little spot, it’s really nice. Plus whoever was in there (thankfully) to explain to me how to sign up online was really kind and helpful.

Before Ian, this was my favorite, most unique gym I've ever been part of when they were at FMB. While the new location is right next to where I live, it's just not the same as it was. While I loved being the only one in there for my first workout, it's just not up to par equipment-wise or space-wise for the fee they charge.

Was recently down in the area for vacation and needed a place to workout. Found Hammerhead via google and after going through photos of the facility I realized they had everything I was looking for. The sign up was super easy via the website! I was able to sign my waiver and pay for my membership before I even got to the facility! Once I got there I just put in my code and the door unlocked and I was good to go. Between the cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines it was perfect! For a non-staffed gym/facility it was very well maintained and super clean. Highly recommend!

We miss Hammerhead Gym on FMB — but it’s obvious the owners have worked hard at the Summerlin Rd. Gym and they are open (Google needs to catch up).

You MUST buy a pass online. There is no front desk, therefore this is no desk employee that can let you in.

Good gym, lots of free weights. Lots of machines, fair amount of cardio equipment. I didn’t do extremely comprehensive workouts because I’m on vacation, but I’m pretty sure it has literally anything you could ever ask for. Except maybe it was missing a GHD machine, but I’m not 100% sure.

The DL platform could use another set of rubber 45’s, but that is only a need for people DLing above 400ish and want to use all rubbers.

Great gym while staying in the area. Owner is a very sweet woman who's name I forgot (sorry!). Happy to get you signed up for a few days while in town.

Machines are "old school" but totally fine for what you need to do. I think some of the negative reviews are under the impression this is going to be Equinox.. come on people, this is a small local gym in an area that otherwise does not have any offerings.

Close to the beach which adds its own unique vibe. Some neat apparel up front too!

This gym is in a great location and provides an excellent opportunity for anyone to get in a solid workout while on vacation or in the area.

It is not staffed, but the rates are competitive and it is an easy process to secure the punch code.

The gym is clean, maintained and all equipment was in working order. Excellent variety of equipment, plates, db's, etc.

My only complaint was that there were no shirts in my size to purchase from their vending machine.

Still a nice gym but a lot has changed. This gym will obviously have a lot of people on vacation coming and going. If you show up without your smart phone you wont be able to get in. The new system has no employees, no one to greet you, just a locked door and a sign on the door with instructions to scan a QR code and sign up online in order to get a door code. They only offer daily, weekly, or monthly passes. I wanted a 4 day pass so i was unable to do this.

When i got to the gym there was another guy who drove 15 miles to get a workout in and he just left because of the new system. I was able to figure it out myself but this new system is very impersonal and it seems as though the new management wants to run it like a laundromat where you don't have to be there.

The gym itself is still nice, has quality equipment and has most of what you would need to get a good workout in. They don't have a bench press or incline press anymore which is disappointing.

Overall, i can live with this new system but i can see them losing a lot of business with this new system for people who don't have smartphones and don't want to deal with the QR code system.

Hubby did unlimited pass for $45, I did 3 day for $35, worth every penny. Rags and bottles as you walk in, extra rags everywhere, Owner Tiffany and employee Mary super helpful and nice. This gym is amazing. I came here on vacation, and this gym is better than my schools multi million dollar workout facility. They have all of the equipment, machines, and accessories you could ever need for any style workout. All equipment is up to date... personnel are friendly and attentive to customers’ needs. They listen and the the gym is never too busy to get a workout in. Owner knows the equipment and help is always available. Never had to wait to work out, though sometimes I move from one machine to another. Plenty of mats and floor space, free weights and aerobic equipment. Owner Tiffany is bright and energetic and her staff is awesome and friendly. TV’s play but not too loud, and I love the quality of patrons I meet there and visit with. Steve the Personal trainor is very good, well versed in training routines, and has a great sense of humor! He can sing and play a great air guitar!
