Overall, I have had a terrible experience with this HOTWORX location. They lied to me and said I could pay the dues on the fifth of each month but instead they take away my access to the gym every first of the month and then they refuse to let me use the gym for the full four weeks that I’m paying for instead they want me to pay for the four weeks and only have access to the gym for three weeks. I tried speaking with the manager and come to a resolution about she did not want to help because. At the beginning of our conversation mentioned something about offering a month free since I am missing a week then later said there was nothing they could do about it for me, she just wasn’t willing to help at all. To make this matter worse I can’t cancel my membership because I have not been there for six months yet and if I want to cancel it now I have to pay a $99 fee.

This Hotworx location has been the worst gym experience I’ve had. Kaylee and Taylor clearly don’t know how to manage a business or treat members with respect.

The environment is toxic. Staff openly gossip about members (I’ve overheard it multiple times in the laundry room) and even vape inside. There’s constant judgment based on appearance and income, making it impossible to feel comfortable or supported while working out.

The owner shows no interest in maintaining or improving the studio — it’s obvious the priority is profit, not people.

If you’re looking for a clean, welcoming, and professionally run fitness space, look anywhere else. This place is not it.

I signed up for a membership on 02-19-2025. However, I have been unsatisfied with the condition of the gym and the maintenance of the equipment. For this reason, I am requesting a cancellation and full refund of my membership per Florida Statute 559.3903.

I love (properly maintained) HOTWORX; however, this one is being thoroughly neglected. Just a little under two years ago, this establishment was in good condition and now it is repulsive. Just walking in you notice the missing panel, the worn black marks on the saunas, the countless missing buttons, sauna 7 isn’t functional, the equipment is falling apart/smells/squeaks, and the FX zone has no cleaning resources to ensure cleanliness. Having attended other HOTWORX I can tell you: this is NOT normal. I want them to revive this place because it should be an incredible health hub; however, I cannot fathom recommending it at this time.

***UPDATE: I was refunded soon after. Still one star for the poor gym condition. Beyond my HOTWORX experience elsewhere, my hubby was a gym manager at multiple other gym franchises (not HOTWORX) and he is not pleased with the management concerning the facility condition. They are all really nice there, but it should be clean/cared for too. I am hoping for a fixed facility in the near future. I told the staff member to contact me if ever they do fix it because I WANT to go to HOTWORX and this one is my only option nearby. Like I chose my apartment based on being able to walk there (Although I do LOVE my apartment too thankfully)!! I had intended to be a lifelong member so having to wait for maintenance is disappointing. I bought a sauna blanket in the meantime which obvi isn’t the same but will suffice. PLEASE FIX!!!

It was my first time at HOTWORX and my experience was amazing! Robert showed my sister and I around, explaining everything in full detail. The first class is free which we were given a mat and towel to use and did their HOT ISO session. Robert checked on us several times during the 45 minute workout in the sauna room and even brought us water bottles. It was such a great experience that I decided to do the membership which has amazing perks and is affordable (for everything that comes with it and gives you access to I honestly thought it was going to be more expensive)! Can’t wait to start my HOTWORX journey!!

Donya, the manager was both kind and professional on the phone and went above and beyond to get me what I needed and several nice surprises. My wife loves working out there but its location does not fit well with her schedule otherwise I am sure she would have a membership! I must say, this place is awesome!! I love the atmosphere and the fact I can come whenever I want and just sweat, sweat and sweat!! I know I’ll get to my goal real soon!! Dhanya and her staff are just so nice, helpful and very friendly! You definitely need a hotworx mat and towel to help with your work out, because it’s a very unique sauna experience with the infra red that only their mat and towels work with due to toxins from other mats. I forget mine sometimes and they have no problem providing it for me!! Plus who wants to lay on a hard floor and do yoga without a mat anyways lol. Silent trainers on the wall in the gym room and all classes are lead by virtual instructors. Totally up my alley. I've been going to Hotworx with my boyfriend for over two years and we love it! To burn the same amount of calories outside of Hotworx would take at least double the time. I was harassed with calls asking me to sign up for months before I did. Once I went in the manager made it seem like there was a three month trial and after that you could cancel. What she really meant was that you can cancel and still pay for two more months unwillingly or pay a $99 cancelation fee. I told her she misled me and she just referred me to the document I signed. I only went to this gym a few times before realizing it was a sham. The sound buttons in some of the rooms were fully non functional which made it impossible to use, the videos were glitchy, and it’s the same videos over and over again. Gainesville Health and Fitness is a much better deal than this scam of a yoga studio.

For a girl who hates gyms and could never find a workout she enjoyed, I've loved Hotworx! The flexibility of being able to come 24/7 is amazing for anyone and most of the time you're in a sauna by yourself, which is perfect for relaxing and being able to focus on your workout rather than others around you. I love the different types of classes to focus on workouts I have never been able to master. I can't wait to see results. They also have a great student discount for college students!!

Some of the heating panels aren't working in the saunas. Tried to cancel within a week of starting after going in twice and trying multiple units that weren't as hot as they were when I was a member previously. They haven't refunded any of my money and just charged me another month of service. I sent an email to the manager with no response. BBB complaint filed and I'll be disputing the charges with my bank. Don't waste your time here. I used to love them when they first opened but they've gone way downhill .

To say Hotworx is "just another yoga studio" would absolutely NOT explain what Hotworx is all about! Yes, it's "yoga" but SO MUCH MORE! This review is from MY perspective as a member, not a sales rep. I could tell you every little thing this studio has to offer but I'd rather tell you what it's done for me. I feel so relaxed and energized at the same time after doing one of the 6 yoga style classes. Each one brings something different to your body, your soul, your heart, your physique, your flexibility. Not many places offer this all-in-one style of workout. If I'm in the mood to stretch....it's available...want to feel and get tone....has that too...strength your jive....they have a complete workout area with dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX straps, pull ups, battle ropes...everything you need to get a great functional fitness workout. Now,...if cardio is your motivator....they have hot rooms with row machines (water driven), and different styles of stationary bikes....15 minutes of that and BAM...you're sweating it out and getting great cardio interval training. I am a Crossfitter but I LOVE HOTWORX as a complimentary fitness regimen. Give this place a try....YOU WILL LOVE IT.

I was first introduced to hotworx in Tampa and was considering joining. I went back to New Jersey receiving emails and updates. I started to stay in Gainesville during the wi ter of 2022 , I was so excited to discover there was a location in Gainesville. I took my wife to go check it out. We was offered a complimentary workout...She joined, I enjoyed it but it wasn't something for me 3 -4 times a week. We expressed to the manager that we would be going back to New Jersey in the summer, we were told that we could put the membership on hold until we returned. This is where the problem and deception began. My wife was using the facility and enjoying it, when it was time to put the membership on hold the manager was never available. So we returned to NJ and continued to call back to Gainesville location and put the membership on hold,she was unable to make contact to get this accomplished. We came back to Gainesville in September 2022, even being here we still couldn't get any satisfaction. So we decided to cancel. During Thanksgiving we were at dinner and one of her church friends was talking about an opportunity that was presented to her, as I listened to her praise report I realized she had become the newest staff member at hotworx. I spoke to my wife afterwards, any way we still decided to cancel. Her friend was helpful and was available to assist her.,but she didn't make up the refund or cancelation policy. My wife informed me that we could cancel, but would not be out of contract for another 60 days. We finally got a real person to help us, but hotworx policy for cancelation is not fair to the customer its deceptive and based on greed. Why wouldn't it be pro rated and canceled within 5-7 business days, why hold a membership hostage for 2 months. Very disappointed & we still like the concept of the gym.😮

AMAZING GYM AND STAFF! It is especially great fit for hectic schedules and allows an effective workout targeting multiple areas, I I've never been happier with any other gym experience! It is worth the time and money to work towards your goals and they will always be there to support you in any way you need!! (It's also amazing for our shy gym girls as each workout is in a separate room and the classes are pre-recorded, so you can be as comfortable as possible) You can do a free trial day which is how I started to see if it's a good fit for you but I highly recommend it!

Hotworx is AMAZING! First, the environment is so great. It's very clean, everyone is so nice and the staff is the sweetest. They really go above and beyond for anything you need. And a HUGE shoutout to Cole (the manager) who's helped me with easily pausing my membership for a month while i recover from Covid, and has in the past always been so nice and helped me with anything I've needed, same goes for the ladies too!! I love the options they offer. 6 different main "isometric" saunas that offer 8 different classes. Then the HIIT training, 4 more sauna rooms that offer 4 different classes such as cycling and rowing. They also offer the FX Zone which is not in a sauna but is a large open area with weights etc.
I was just getting back into shape and was nervous about finding a gym I felt comfortable in, but I'm so glad I chose Hotworx! 100/10 gym!

I love the setup of this place! They give you 24 hr access with your own private sauna that's easy to book on the app. They have great, challenging workouts and on recovery days I usually foam roll for 30 min in the heat and it helps relieve my sore muscles. My friend and I came to this Hotworx while we were in town from Oxford, MS. It’s nice how quiet it is but there were a few downsides. People leave the doors open, the wipes are dried out or impossible to get out of the container, there are some bikes where the knobs are broken and just fall of while you’re riding. And not to mention all of the bike seats that are split open, which kinda grossed us out since you can’t clean the exposed cushion.

I just have to say everything the manager told me would Happen is. I have struggled to loose weight due to some health issues including lab verified high cortisol levels . I was told the Infa red sauna work out would help with that problem. I have lost 8 pounds in 10 days by going to HOTWORX three times a week and walking daily . I definitely recommend this place :).

I joined HotWorx back in August 2021 and just fell in love with the ease of the entire system, how quickly I saw results, and the privacy! I have always been embarrassed to go into a big gym, Hotworx gives you an at home feel with all the equipment you need to be fit and detoxify your whole body. My skin was so clear and I had never felt better. I joined after I got over Covid in late 2021, my body needed the rejuvenation it got from the saunas! There is no better feeling than sweating out bad toxins that we come in contact with every day, even unknown to us. Thank you Hotworx for an incredible experience from start to finish. The opportunity to work out and enjoy the sauna heat simultaneously is an incredible perk. 24-hour access, an intimate setting that allows you to work out by yourself or with a partner, is truly a must-do. The opportunity to reserve the sauna of your choice at the time and day you’d like is what I love the most. There has never been a time where I had to wait to use a sauna room. The staff is personable, and the facility is clean, sanitized, and well maintained. At Hot Workx, you spend less time than you would at a typical gym because you exercise in a sauna that reduces the amount of time that you would work out typically, and you burn calories up to one hour after your workout. UPDATE: Cassie from the studio was very kind to follow up with me regarding my concerns. They were a responsible studio who considered all the safety measures for COVID so she explained to me that the hours were adjusted due to COVID. I appreciated that. Corrective action was implemented and signage was placed on faulty equipment. I appreciate the communication and follow up after my review.
First off- let me start by saying I LOVE Hotworx....so much so that when I found out they had a Gainesville location, I became a sweat anywhere member. Since I was traveling, I figured they would have towels and mats available for rent. I made sure to make an appointment during staff hours. To my disappointment, THERE WAS NO STAFF during staff hours. Nobody to help me- first disappointing thing. Next up, safety and equipment. I went to a hot cycle class in room 8. The bike closest to the door was stuck in one position. I tried everything. The middle bike handle bars were safety issues. If you stood up, you might topple over due to the bars being crazy wobbly. Can you imagine how much a failure I felt when Brittany the instructor told me to never quit, but I had to bc I was going to fall off the bike? I was going to get my child a membership here while they are studying at UF, but never mind on that. I need high quality and professionalism if I’m going to invest inHotworx. Highly disappointed Gainesville!!! I think youre paying your employees to ditch work.

Often times the equipment was broken for weeks even after I notified staff. There is only 1 video for like the entire month (sometimes even 2 months) it gets SO BORING! The manager and the owner showed no mercy for my being a student dealing with graduation or COVID-19. As I am a student and was leaving after I graduated, I was never informed of a '60 day' cancelation fee. I was told to sign the documents and when I needed to cancel, to just let the manager know and we would "work something out." When it came time where I needed to end my membership, I was told I have to pay for 2 more months. After asking to speak to a member from the headquarters, I was told I would get a call and NEVER DID. I called and messaged and the owner on the phone was RUDE. He never let me speak and only cared about himself and his business, not about the customers. I do not recommend this place. Better off getting a different gym membership. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

They actually went into accounts of people who cancelled over a year ago and charged everyone out of the blue hoping that no one will notice and they will get away with stealing money. That is THEFT and STEALING. UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES against our consent/ever using hotworx services in the last year. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH HOTWORX GAINESVILLE. The place is nice and all but I have been trying to cancel since June of 2019 and i have sent letters of cancelation since I can’t go in to sign because I moved back home and they keep giving me an excuse after excuse and charging me and we are now in February 2020 and I am still getting charged. The girl on the phone ( Stephanie ) sounds super sweet and seems to want to help and has told me to send in letters which I have sent 2 and now she is telling me that it has to be a verified letter by the post office which she never mentioned before. They are very unprofessional and careless when it comes to customer satisfaction. I would recommend going to another place where they care about customer experience and customer service. They clearly don’t do their job right and then blame it on this contract that we sign at the beginning. DO NOT FALL VICTIM for their business strategy. Highly disappointed.

Really bad experience. Too expensive. They make it really difficult to cancel. Steph worked out a deal for me to cancel that was already sht, and then went ahead and charged me for another month anyways. Go to Yoga Pod, it's right there. I didn't even sign anything and she's still got me by the balls.

Was originally going to leave a bad review because I was signed up by a worker who told me to skip the details of the contract because she had “told me everything.” She had, in fact, left out that you must pay for at least three months and that there were some other fees associated with the membership like paying for the mat. However, I called the store to let them know they should be clearer about their business practices, and the manager was very helpful and even offered me two free months after my cancellation to make up for the fact, while assuring me that girl no longer works there. Big shoutout to Stephanie for being patient and knowing how to mend a situation.

I am a 62 year old breast cancer survivor and for the past 5 years have struggled with health issues including a compromised immune system and physical limitations due to multiple surgeries and cancer treatments. Six weeks (30-mins, 3x per week) of low impact, isometric exercise in an infrared, sauna environment has resulted in amazing and positive changes in my body, mind and spirit. I have increased the range of motion through my right arm/shoulder which was very limited due to past surgeries, feel more positive and definitely have a lot more energy! I am sleeping through the night for the first time in decades. My slimmer appearance has not gone unnoticed by friends and family. Sweatiest place in Gainesville (in a good way)! Great way to get a quick, intense workout and burn off that pizza you had the night before. Staff are super friendly, especially Jordan who is the nicest employee there. Cassie is ok too haha. I personally love the cycle classes since they give a fast, high intensity workout which is great since I am always in a rush. If I have more time in my schedule, I love doing the hot warrior. A+ Quality Gym with a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. Located in a safe, well-lit area which positively compliments the late night solo workout adventures. Free Weight room in the back is a great way to start or end a sauna HITT session. I like that you can take classes with an "instructor" any time of the day. There is a diverse variety and amount of people, but I never find the gym packed. Stephanie and her staff and friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful if you are needing any assistance around the gym. Never had problems bringing a guest, and my guest have enjoyed it too! Would recommend to anyone of any level. Discounts for students!

This is a fantastic studio! I love how innovative and unique the product is. I'm able to get a quality workout in in only 15 minutes. Plus the privacy while I'm working out is wonderful. The staff is incredibly friendly, and they make a genuine effort to get to know their members on a personal level; I love being greeted by name as I walk in the door. The only place I know that makes you pay to cancel your membership. They don’t let you read the contract. They skim through it with you and highlight the parts they want you to know. Then they use the contract as a way to scam you out of your money. Don’t get the service unless you really want it because otherwise you’ll be stuck paying for something you don’t want month after month! To cancel, you either have to pay $100 or pay two months worth of service which is $100 anyway.

I absolutely loooove hotworx. I am always looking forward to my next session, my favorite is yoga and spin! Even as a certified personal trainer i feel the video classes are challenging and engaging.
