Just completed two days of 1 on 1 training with John Hughes. John is an absolute master instructor who blends range and on course work into a truly transformational event.

John emphasizes simplicity and the ‘source’ that is the precursor to most ‘cause and effect’ golf instruction.

I left knowing exactly what I needed to work on and with an equally important shift in mindset that improving my golf game should be with the goal of having more fun…not punishing myself.

Yesterday, playing my first round since the class, I shot a 47/43 and can not remember having a more enjoyable and less stressful round.

John, Gibby, Doug, and Connor are just fantastic. I learned so much during my 2 day group experience. I received a lot of one on one instruction, advice and coaching from everyone throughout the entire weekend. John analyzed my swing and gave me real, tangible things to do to help me improve. Fantastic start to improving our golf game!
My wife and I recently took a series of golf lessons at John Hughes Golf and it was a great experience in our journey to improve our game. What stood out immediately was the initial conversation we had with the owner, John Hughes. He took the time to really understand our goals for the lessons and our overall aspirations for our golf game. This thoughtful questioning made us feel like our individual needs were truly being considered and we were paired with a wonderful coach, Jack Stumpfig. He took the time to understand our current swings, identify areas for improvement and explain the reasoning for recommendations in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. Jack was patient, encouraging, and provided constructive feedback that left us motivated and confident. After the lessons, we had a much clearer understanding of what we needed to work on and more importantly the tools to do so.

My driver was off and I'd had some coaching but it wasn't happening. On a trip to Orlando, I decided to seek John out for some guidance. At the wonderful Championsgate practice facility, John patiently and systematically spent the next 3 or 4 hours, bedding in the mechanics of alignment and swing execution. 1. The service I received from John to arrange the visit was high touch, personalized, and timely. He has a genuine interest in helping golfers meet their goals.

2. The facilities at ChampionsGate were top-notch.

3. The format of the full-day golf school was excellent and conducive to improving my game - evaluation and practice area / short game work in the morning followed by a playing lesson in the afternoon.

4. My instructor, Gibby Gilbert III, was outstanding!!! His experience, knowledge, patience and personality make him a very effective teacher. He used a perfect blend of technology and practical experience during his instruction which resonated well with me. We set and met several goals during my 2 days with him. In addition, he provided me with a framework for continued improvement ahead of the upcoming golf season.

I was in the area for a couple weeks and wanted to find someone help me with some areas I was struggling. Beginning with my first contact with John and his team the communication was outstanding. Knowing my situation and limited time frame John set up a plan and expectations based on what I was trying to accomplish before even scheduling a lesson. I have attended two individual schools of golf development at John Hughes Golf. On both occasions I worked with John one on one. He possesses a personality which lends itself to teaching the game in a very simple and calm manner. He is so optimistic about his students ability to improve, you come away believing you will definitely get better if you are willing to put the work in. He has over 40 years experience of teaching the game around the world. This knowledge of the game allows him to assess your abilities and develop an improvement plan that will work for you, since he strongly encourages your input and listens to what you have to say. You will enjoy the venue since it is well maintained and in great condition. It is truly a great golf environment. I enjoyed the on course sessions where you apply what you’ve learned under actual course conditions. It was wonderful and enjoyable experience. Just got back from 4 days with John for me and my wife and son. It exceeded expectations for me becasue he ndivudalized it for us. I’m a 12 , my son is a 5 and wife is a competitive s 34. All. 3 of us was taught differently . Expected me to struggle after lessons but come back to Ohio and golfed muirfield and played as well as. Ever did. John really knows his stuff and I am a very difficult grader.

John is a excellent communicater and instructor. Already with only spending a couple of lessons with John my ball striking and scores have improved significantly. John also gives you some great drills to do as homework that are amazing.
If you are visiting or live in the Orlando area and looking for some sound advice on game improvement, then John is your guy.

I recently did four days of golf school with John. We had lessons and drills for three hours in the morning then had an excellent lunch. After lunch we played nine holes in the afternoon. He is the best instructor I have ever had for the game of golf. I learned a tremendous amount about my swing, striking the ball and course management. John was very patient and had the latest technology to analyze everything I was doing on the golf course. It was such a great experience. I will be returning to Orlando in the future to take more lessons from him. If you want to get better at golf, then John is the instructor for you.

John is like a 24 handicap giving lessons..You will NEVER see him hit a golf ball ever...Typical voodoo instructor with all sorts of goofy hula hoops and computer visual stats that are supposed to impress u and learn his "method"..You will never get better.. I've met so many guys like him that have their "Golf Acadamy".but can't play golf out of a wet paper bag....Painful to watch people taking "lessons" from him

Highly recommend their facility and lessons! My lesson was with Ed and I was extremely pleased with the knowledge gained and how it improved my play (especially irons) right away. I learned more in that lesson (hands on learner) than in all the books and magazines I ever read. I'm 54 years old and I've picked up a lot of bad habits over the years, Ed helped me correct many of them. It was so knowledgeable I probably forgot a third of what Ed was teaching me. I played 4 more rounds while on vacation after that lesson and my play was so much better (especially irons). I reached out to John while traveling through the Orlando area in search of some help after some recent frustrating days on the links. John immediately got back to me and was able to schedule a slot for me the following day with his colleague Ed Fulford. Wow, what a great session with Ed. He turned me on to some basic swing flaws and got me back on track with some really solid ball-striking. Ed was very pleasant, knowledgable and really seemed invested in what I was trying to accomplish. I had my first lesson with John this past weekend. I am a 2 handicap and strive to play at a high level. I was so impressed in how John uses all of the latest cutting edge technology to gather information, but then is able to take what he’s seeing and deliver instruction in a simple, consumable way. We just can’t say enough good about John and his teaching! From the first lesson he made us comfortable and we especially liked that he took us on the course to actually play a few holes so he could see exactly what we needed to work on to improve our games. He has all the video equipment and training aids one could need. His drills are simple but effective. Having done several sessions with John, I have achieved remarkable improvements with my game, which has suffered from 2 strokes (brain attacks). John has the special ability to communicate what I need to do in a way that I can understand and absorb, and thusly change my movement to what it should be. I've never golfed, but had an interest in learning with my husband and found John online. We wanted to learn correctly and we opted for John's Full Day golf lesson. I received an hour lesson from John courtesy of a drawing I entered. I must admit, I was thinking since it was a free session, I might not receive a full experience. I was wrong!
John is a consummate professional and even in a limited amount of time, he pointed out mechanics, as well as mental aspects that have already improved my play. So much so that 2 days later I was able to place first in my flight with a partner in a tournament. I credit John with helping that to happen. “Aim small, miss small” my friends!

I am new to the golf game. I was having a hard time hitting the ball consistently and well. I decided to the beginner golfer weekend clinic that John Hughes offers. I was nervous at first, mainly because I'm not used to bieng bad at things. John definitely did great at making me feel welcomed to the game and broke things down in a way I was able to understand. I have taken 3 playing lessons and two mornings of lessons with John on 2 winter trips to Florida. He is an excellent teacher and enjoys sharing his vast knowledge. I so value his teaching of the mental part of the game as much as his teaching of strategies and technical skills. One area John spent a lot of time with me on is my putting. I went from being the world’s worst putter to being complimented by another pro on my putting technique! I learned so much from John I could fill pages. Having played golf for some years I was definitely struggling due to getting older and not being as strong as I once had been. I took a series of lessons from John who helped me understand the golf swing in a way I had never been thought. Now I am able to enjoy the game of golf more and understand why I sometimes hit good shots and why sometimes bad ones. Still working on my game but with a purpose and better understanding.
