Kawayan Strength offers private and semi-private pilates sessions to clients interested in the technical aspect of movement. Our goal is to teach every client how to progress past learning the motion of an exercise and understanding how slight changes in position create the most successful practice in movement. With just a few private sessions you can take what you learn here and see how it impacts the changes you want to see in your favorite group classes offered throughout the area. We don't have to be your final destination; just a place where you can learn the best movement tips.

I absolutely love this studio! I have been attending sessions since last November ( Originally I attended with a friend, we both had been wanting to start Pilates and thought why not do it together). We loved the atmosphere as well as the instructors. The classes are more personal seeing as there are usually 3-4 in attendance. This leaves for an attentiveness that I have not found at other studios.
Recently, I’ve grown a new found appreciation for the explanatory factor of the classes. Their knowledge and understanding of one’s body is phenomenal. Last week while listening to Janet I needed to stop and marvel at what she was saying. It was genuinely like listening to the best type of Audio book where I could visualize everything described. It definitely helps to strengthen one’s mind/body connection when you understand exactly what you’re doing.
I’m always eager to continue attending sessions because I know in each one I will likely learn something new as well as feel refreshed for the day!

We have never done Pilates. My husband and I found Kawayan Strength was located right around the corner from us … so we decided to give it a try. We’re so glad we did! We Love it! The instructors are amazing..so knowledgeable and fun to work with. You feel positive changes in your body right away!! Any aches or pain I have (and I have lots!!) Janet knows just what to do to fix it! She’s like a little miracle! I would give them More stars if I could!! 🥰.

Kawayan Strength is truly the most amazing Pilates studio in Tampa! Janet, Delaney and Jen are the most knowledgeable, professional and wonderful Pilates instructors I have ever met. They go in-depth and explain the Pilates technique in a very detailed approach, so the classes are really beneficial and efficient in every single way! I can already feel how my body has become stronger, more toned and healthier, and my posture has improved so much just after taking a few initial classes at Kawayan. Highly recommend this studio to anyone who is curious about going in-depth about Pilates and learning more about their body. I am so grateful that I’ve discovered Kawayan Strength!

Kawayan Strength is a source of peace in this otherwise crazy world. As soon as I step through the door, I am met with the warmth and kindness of Janet and her staff, as well as other guests in the studio, all of whom make Kawayan a truly special place to be.
I regularly attend classes at Kawayan. Their "group" classes are semi private classes with 3-4 guests in each class. I am able to get one-on-one special attention in a "group” setting, which has been so helpful to me as I continue my Pilates practice. They also offer one-on-one Pilates sessions, strength sessions, and body work sessions; all taught by their incredibly knowledgeable instructors (their knowledge of body mechanics is absolutely unmatched).
I recently attended Janet's 2-hour "Reformer Rise" class, and it was simply amazing. It was intense but invigorating, and I felt fantastic both during the class and afterwards. And our little group of participants bonded in the experience. We laughed, and then we "cried" (abs, legs, glutes, arms, etc), and then we laughed some more.
I LOVE KAWAYAN. (I want to gatekeep this gem, but I love them too much to do so).
Everyone should *know* this special place in the world).

This is an amazing Pilates and Wellness Studio!! Clean location, great equipment, lots of attention to the members. While Janet is awesome, she’s still my second favorite Instructor at this studio.
