Fairways were ok, not great. They have been overseeded for a week and the ryegrass is coming up. The Bermuda is thin in places. The greens were inconsistent. Some were loaded with goose grass and sedges. We played after 2PM so the price was right but I'd be dissapointed if we paid full price

New owners + staff are terrible. We got kicked off the course, without a refund. They just re-seeded the fairways and failed to inform my group that we weren’t allowed to drive on the fairways. Course manager drove up to us without warning & told us we had to leave without receiving a refund. The course has also taken a huge downturn. In terrible condition. If considering here, go to Legends or Clermont Natl instead.

Played King’s Ridge in Clermont and was seriously impressed. The fairways were perfect, the greens rolled true, and everything looked like it was straight out of a golf magazine.
The staff was friendly, welcoming, and somehow managed to stay cheerful even after watching my putting. Great vibes, top-notch conditions — King’s Ridge definitely lives up to its name.

Friday. Arrived about 30 minutes prior and they let us right out. No starter available and finding the Hole 1 via their signs was not easy. The course was wide open with cart path rules near tee box and greens. The low cost to play was justified based on the overall shape of the course. We had an enjoyable round. No ball washers or water on course but there was a m/f bathroom. They also had a snack barand outdoor seating, Enjoy!

Played the Ridge (par 3) course. Staff was EXCELLENT. The range is fine, facility is nice enough. The neighborhood that this course is in... A LITERAL DREAM! If the course was as well maintained as the lawns, trees, and homes in the community... this would be a $50+ par 3 course. The layout is AMAZING. The downfall is the groundskeeping. Was "in recovery conditions", but that is a stretch. 75% of greens were damaged, HALF extremely damaged. 2 holes were just simply UNPLAYABLE. I had more fun just driving the cart through the gorgeous community.

Played the course today and was unpleasantly surprised as to how bad the greens and tee boxes were. The greens are full of weed clumps making it impossible to putt. And the tee boxes are worse. Have played this course more than 20 times over the years. Like the layout but some serious work/money need to go towards the greens, tee boxes and fairways.

Played the King's Course, and it was just in horrendous shape. The condition of the tee boxes suggests complete neglect. Many, many areas where the paths are falling apart and on the fairway it felt like I was driving over some ATV terrain course. That must be doing a ton of damage to the carts. It's a bummer. They must be having financial challenges because it just looks like they don't have a groundskeeper managing anything. I guess compared to some of the other courses in the area it's a 'bargain' at $50 a round, but for that I'd at least expect to be hitting off grass from the tee. This was kind of a joke.
It's a very chill vibe. Everyone is exceptionally friendly. I was disappointed to stop at the turn and discover they didn't even have hot dogs to eat. This was around 12:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday...c'mon guys, nothing to eat?
Oh...and make sure you bring your own water, and a lot of it. There isn't a single water fill station on the course. Again...that to me speaks of financial issues. You aren't going to provide water out there to your customers in the 90+ degree Florida heat? Again...that is a joke.
It's a shame...this place could be so awesome! The location is tremendous and the layout is decent enough. It just needs some of the basics figured out.

The worst condition I have seen here in 20+ years Yes, it was recent aerated but I am not sure why. There wa no grass to save. The green are 60%+ dirts. R
More than half of the tees are bare and the rough is tall weeds that haven’t been mowed in weeks.
It is crime to charge more than $10 for this course.

Played the executive course on 5/26 with some friends who don't play that often so i wanted something on the easier side of things for them. Staff was nice but the course was in bad shape, some of the worst greens and tee boxes I've seen. Fairways were in decent shape but those greens were almost unplayable. Giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because of how nice the staff were and the $30 price however $15-$20 sounds like a more reasonable price. Probably wont be back for a few months.

Pro shop is very friendly. They have the championship course and the executive course. The executive course is a smaller course full of mostly three pars. I really like it because it’s a little less expensive. It plays faster. you don’t have to drive as much so you can use your irons more so I end up having a lot more fun here because I can keep track of my ball. The residence around this course are very friendly and the course is nicely maintained championship. Course is absolutely beautiful. This is our favorite local course usually because of the twilight pricing. Hot dogs in the pro shop are delicious too.

No one EVER showed up to enhance the pace of play. When we approached the 18th hole there were SEVEN groups!!! As we waited, two groups drove past us and called it a day. This is one of the best values in Central Florida. Greens and fairways in good shape. Challenging but fun layout. Loved the elevation changes that you dont normally see in Florida. Staff was friendly. There were quite a few workers on the course trimming trees and trimming/sanding tee boxes so you can see they are putting the work in. My main priorities are green quality then fairways and both were great to make this a bargain.

My wife and I LOVE both courses. We played the executive course this past weekend and had a great time! Teed off at 7:15 and finished up in under 3 hours. The way I like it! Course was in really good shape. I do need to talk to someone about the IMPOSSIBLE pin placement on 10 and 11! lol. The views along the course is a treat given typical dull and flat Florida. We’ve played the Kings Course as well. Love the track! Beautiful views and challenging decisions to make. The staff does a GREAT job keeping the course in great shape. Relatively speaking, Kings Ridge is one of the best golf values in central Florida. We’ll be back!

Fun course but 1-star for the customer service we experienced at check-in this morning. We were spoken to in a very demeaning tone, were up charged for more expensive club rentals due to lack of available inexpensive ones, and were forced to adhere to an unreasonably strict dress code by paying more money for merchandise on-site for a course with nothing to show for it - greens were in subpar condition.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I booked two tee times for a birthday celebratory golf session. We were not actively playing together, but we wanted to stay close as we were a group. We were then separated by the course Marshall who then proceeded to rush us the entire course even though there was no one waiting behind us and we kept pace. There were a multitude of other inconveniences that totaled this to be the worst golf experience any of us have ever had. It was overall a waste of money and everyone had a miserable time. There are much better courses in the area that you should go to that are worth the extra cost. This was supposed to be a fun and relaxing time with friends and was quickly turned into a negative day. The only positive service that we received was from the beverage cart and the check in desk. Had I know that we would be rushed as paying customers the entire course and watched the entire time, I would have spent my day as well as my money elsewhere. As the other reviews attest to, there are better places to go and after reading some of the negative reviews about how customers were treated after raising concerns , I did not bother mentioning this to anyone as I doubted there would be any action taken to resolve the issue. We ended up not even finishing the course and I wish I could get back the money I spent or at least partial of it. It is a shame as my fiancé and his friends would frequent this course but after this experience, we will not be returning and I would advise anyone reading this to do the same.

I don't typically write reviews, and this is pretty trivial, but the sheer stupidity was inspiring.
My mother-in-law lives in Kings Ridge. On a recent visit I decided to go to the range. $12.50 for a large bucket. I asked how many balls, 40-50 was the reply. Not quite large, but OK, whatever. Looks like they dip a bucket into a vat of balls and you get what you get, perhaps 40-50. Gave a $20 bill, got $7.30 change. I asked if they were out of change. Moron behind the desk said all he had was dimes and "didn't think" I wanted 5 dimes so I only got 3. He reluctantly gave me the rest after I said I wanted all my change.

This is a review that I feel is not only being honest but believing in the game of golf,
My girlfriend and I played The Ridge course this morning and wanted to for the sole purpose of improving our short game, the greens were so pool table nice and fairways were a tad shall I say challenging but not terrible by any means.
This course will remain in my tool bag for many many days to come and we've booked the following week after playing today. Very happy with the tranquility, beautiful views, and super super excited about the par threes Hitting off steep Ledges and challenging hole placements. Thank you once again for all the hard work out there we will return.

Kings Ridge is a great layout with fun elevations and challenges. Unfortunately, the conditions do not justify the $74 cost for a Sunday morning. Tee boxes and greens are pretty rough (see photos from this morning). Sadly, this is considered a decent rate in the area now - Orlando golfers are getting gouged. I’ll be switching to some afternoon rounds so I can get on nicer conditions at a better rate.

Terrible experience ! I am 16 year old high school golfer. I come from Indiana with courses beyond great golf etiquette. I hit a bomb on the 10th hole. I was so pleased i ran down to the hole and threw my tee ay my cousin with excitement. The Golf Pro ran down from the range and yelled in my face . Let me tell you, have you ever been pleased with the idea of a 30+ year old yelling in a young high school golfers face for doing what any happy kid would do. Everybody else in the shop other than that man were great. I hope someone reads this review and several others on this same rude man and realize this is not the course to choose.

Exec course review. A solid 4 maybe 4.5. I enjoyed playing Kings Ridge. A short executive course with lots of elevation changes and a few nice par 4s. Conditions were very good with maybe the exception of some tee boxes. Greens were very nice for the price paid. Recommended for tuning up your short game. Peculiarities include that you need to check in at the main clubhouse and take your cart on about a 10 minute expedition through the neighborhood to get to the exec course. Obviously, not enough business to constantly staff the second clubhouse. There was also no starter so you can go when you want, but this could be a problem if you are not part of a full foursome. Make sure you get the restroom code before you leave check in

We had to wait almost 45 minutes because there was no kart available. Then I wanted to use the bathroom and it was disgusting. Could not use it. The club house is in renovation and it was a mess. Then we had to travel by kart almost 2 miles to get to our tee off. Then we had golfers in front of us that were really slow and we waited at every hole. Then the guy at the club house said we lost a cover for a club and we didn't. Wanted our credit card to pay for it which we did not. Awful experience. 😖

Greens were tough in a good way in my opinion. The pin placements made it challenging. Only 4 Par 3, two in the front 9 and two in the back 9 made it ideal. Overall course condition was really good. Fairways and greens were kept really well and we enjoyed ourselves. The course is under new management and the pro shop is under construction and under staffed. I think I only saw 3 employees total. 1 in the Shop, 1 collecting, cleaning and delivering carts and the Starter. The downside is no food but select candy and chips and hardly an alcoholic beverage to choose from. Course 9/10 ProShop 1/10. I would come back to this course for the course, it was a lot of fun.

I am the organizer of a group of 16 golfers , most of which have traveled to the Orlando area for approximately 35 years to play golf . I have never had a golf course cancel our tee times at the last moment . I cannot say that anymore as Kings Ridge personnel canceled our tee times within 10 days of our scheduled tee times Mind you , these were tee times scheduled last October . Kings Ridge made no attempts to remedy or accommodate our golf group . I was left to find tee times for 16 golfers during one the busiest golf seasons in Orlando history . This was unconscionable .Left a voicemail at pro shop as suggested in owner response. This was on March 10 . Have yet to get a call back. I am not surprised .It has been a week since I left a voicemail and I have not received a callback . It's has now been two weeks and still no call back from pro shop management. The course is in nice shape. It's currently being overseeded, but will be even better soon.
Update as of March 18, 2022:
Course is I good shape, but greens are very slow. Golf course management is lacking as starter was only concerned with collecting receipts and making sure there were enough carts. Never told us pin positions and golfers started whenever they chose. We waiting until group was on the first green before starting. The round was so slow that there were four groups on number 10. No rangers during this busy time.

If I could give 3.5 stars I would, the only reason I gave 4 stars because it was priced fair. The course was in ok condition for this time of year in Florida, but not great. The staff was friendly enough, it just wasn’t a course that would stand out among others or one I would make an effort to go back and play. After reading some of the other reviews I expected it to be a little nicer, but it’s all relative. If you want a nice course you’re going to pay $100+ this time of year and I paid $40 to play late in the day, so fair enough.

What a difference this year vs. previous two years we have played the two courses. Lance and the new management team have done a great job vs. previous years... Available carts, efficient personnel in the club house and having a starter on the champions course has made a much better experience than before...my compliments to all!!!
Suggestion...have ranger at the ridge course, very slow play the last two times we played...almost 2 hours to play 9 holes due to extra slow foursomes in front of us.

Played Heritage Reserve after playing this. This course was much better: better layout, better conditions but still not in great conditions. 3 stars should probably 3.5. Price was in the right range for this course.

I play with a group of 16 players that travel from Ohio to Florida each winter for a golf vacation. The group had set up tee times several months in advance at different courses in the area. Our group organizer called Kings Ridge the day before we were to play. He was told the tee times were canceled in favor of a different group. This was a disrespectful, unprofessional and callous act by the management of Kings Ridge. There are multiple courses nearby, I strongly recommend you avoid Kings Ridge and look elsewhere.

They don’t deserve even the 1 star. I booked a reservation on their site for tomorrow, 02/07. They sent me an email confirming the reservation. Then 20 minutes later l got a text message stating the reservation was canceled. When l called the “reservation agent” couldn’t get through to the pro shop to find out why. I called a half dozen times myself and there was no answer at the pro shop. What kind of organization is this? A pathetic one in my opinion. I’ll book somewhere else, and not spend my money here!

That new greens keeper has done a terrific job on the greens & tee boxes. The fairways are close behind. Had some challenging pin locations which added to the fun. They could use a snack cart, however.

First time playing this course and don’t plan to come back due to staff. At check in, we weren’t informed there were two differences courses and weren't instructed on how to get to them. When we found the first tee box, the rangers argued we didn’t have a tee time. After showing them our receipts, they informed us we were supposed to go to the other course. That wasn’t an issue as we’ve never been, so we told them we had no idea, asked for directions, and eventually found the other course.
Our biggest issue was that on the 10th tee box, we were confronted a second time by one of these rangers. He immediately began accusing us of trying to sneak onto the course the weekend before and warned us not to try it again. Baffled, we explained we’ve never been to this course before ever and we were both out of town the weekend prior, so there’s clearly no way we could’ve done that. Instead of dropping it or apologizing, he continued to accuse us, commenting that he recognized my face and my last name. Let me reiterate: I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS PLACE IN MY LIFE. We went back and forth with this ranger for 5 minutes while he wrongly accused us, then eventually drove off saying “ok, well don’t try it again”. Needless to say, this wrecked the whole mood of our day.
When we dropped off the cart, we mentioned this incident to the front desk who joked that they can be a little over zealous sometimes. I’m assuming by that, this is not the first incident with this ranger.
Overall, poor communication and incredibly rude and aggressive rangers. Which is sad, because it ruined what was an enjoyable course up to that point.

Posting this here because the higher ups at this golf course completely ignored the email I sent voicing my concerns.
Giving only 1 star is a joke. 0 stars should be possible
This was my first time golfing at this establishment. We encountered some difficulties at this course that I feel are important to share.
At check in using the Golfpass app the pro shop attendant told us the course rules of collared shirts. This was not the first time we were met with this requirement and understood it. The frustration lied in where the rule was stated. I asked Billy to show me where it was in the app and he viewed my reservation and spent 5 minutes searching without any success. He stated that he could not find the rule on the app but it did not change the policy. I asked for a one time exemption as I have recently moved here and would obey the policy going forward yet there was no leniency. " This is a semi private golf course" was the response. The irony of this is when on the course I encountered 2 elderly gentlemen who were not wearing collared shirt. Instead we had to pay 38 dollars for a "clearance" collared T which is an absolute money grab and infuriating when older members can bypass this rule.
The other frustrations with this course were the lack of assistance on and around the course itself. No one to assist with where the 1st tee is. Us and another first time group could not find the 1st tee box and there was 0 assistance from anyone. We also were met with angry and impatient golfers due to one of our golfer member misplacing a club on the previous hole. We let 2 parties play through and they were so kind. However when we finally began to play an elderly man was enraged because we were breaking up his 5 Team outing and we should get out of there way because he was a member. Just complete disrespect for guests and a sense of privilege. We just left the hole completely and skipped it to the next tee all together.
As a newbie to golf and the community it's extremely disappointing to try and do the right thing and be met with such rigidness at your facility. When you see rules being bent for members but not paying guests you definitely feel shorted and marginalized by this golf course. I will continue my journey as a golfer but without a doubt I do not see the point of playing at a place where even though it is open to the public you are treated differently and not shown the same equality as members.

We rented the facility for a 70th b day party and they still allowed anybody in. We asked for the card players to leave and they got so upset that they were even asked. Like they own the place and no one else should be there even if we paid a premium. Leland employees sure we're ready to tell us what we were doing wrong yet the the folks that were not with us could stay and do whatever they wanted??? Place should have a 1 time code access given out to those who rent facility to keep others out during the hours rented.

King's Ridge is a community based 18 hole golf course which is open to the public. While the pro shop has few amenities, the course is worth it. There are no funky holes (golfers knows what that means), greens are in good shape, fairways for the most part are wide with good grass. Recommended!

11.40 am tee time. 4 groups on 1st tee with no starter. 3 hours to play 11 holes before we gave up.
Got the guy in pro shop to call manager bobby. Not policy to give refunds but would do me a favour and give me raincheck for back 9. Said they do have starters in peak season - we are currently in peak season and i played on a saturday. He wasnt prepared to discuss his staffing situation with me and he was on his day off. All a bit bizarre.
They overbooked the course and didnt manage it. You play kings ridge for a quick round. There are amazing courses eg OCN, hawks landing, celebration and many more you can play for the same money if you are going to be out 4 hours. Avoid. I certainly will never go back. Poor

The Par 3 course is in pretty rough shape, it seemed neglected. Even the signs on many holes are faded and falling apart. This place used to be so much nicer but we still enjoyed ourselves.
Update: It was in better shape on my last visit (December 2020) so added a star.

This is a nice golf course but the staff treated us very unfairly. Our tee time was delayed by over 20 minutes due to a freeze and then staff complained about us taking a long time because the course has a shortage of golf carts. There was no team behind us waiting. When we ended the round the staff was yelling at us in front of other customers. Recommend this place add more golf carts instead of yelling at customers.

Today my husband and I played the executive course at King's Ridge and I have to say we were extremely disappointed. Leave your putter at home, the greens are so bumpy and full of crab grass that there's really no point. This was a truly frustrating course due to the condition and I don't see myself ever coming back to it. Honestly I wish we hadn't wasted the money...

Course is in okay shape, the gentleman that check us in was not very friendly and did some bad mouthing about our group!!! we were told that everything is in great shape Wrong the greens were full of sand and they had just punch them a few days earlier charged us $37.00 each which should of been like $25.00 a player . Very hard on you if you want a single golf cart, even if you drove there by yourself!! Good Luck !!

Could use a super who knows how to to remove the unruly grasses like goose grass.
Hope someone regains control of the unwanted turfgrasses and can bring the wanted turfgrasses back through proper chemical applications.

I liked this course. It's challenging, yet somewhat forgiving. But truth be told, I only gave it a 4, because I wasn't a fan of the tee boxes. They need some work. Maybe significant work. It's the only shot in my round I can actually control the layout and there weren't many flat areas to hit from on this course's tee areas. That was disappointing. But not enough to sour my thoughts about the place. I'd certainly play it again.

I have lived in Kings Ridge by the 6th green for11 years. Have played golf on the Kings Course for 20 years. 20 years ago this was a 5 star golf course. Today it is not a golf course to be proud of as is the par 3 Executive Course. The course appears to be busy most of the time. Issues are greens in poor shape, many dead trees and large limbs not being removed, many areas of dead grass by the raised tee offs, fairways need more attention, and areas surrounding greens with raised area— dead grass noted. Can anyone explain why this has happened to 2 beautiful courses?

Great little course! Have shy'd away from playing this course for awhile, as years ago when I played last it was in very poor condition! Was pleasantly surprised last week when our weekly group scheduled in.
The fairways were in great shape, greens in good condition, although kind of inconsistent..... One green would be a little quick then the next one would not be. But seemed to roll pretty true. Nice elevation changes and fun layout. A lot of trees but they are on the sides of decently wide fairways. Will go back!

Course very nice, hospitality terrible. Booked 4some tee time for 2:12. Was not told about 6 PM cart curfew at the time of booking. Play was very slow, we had 3 holes to go when the fellow who checked us in came out and told us to get off the course. We had plenty of daylight left to finish. There were other groups shoed off the course as well. He offered no flexibility; he told us the sign is posted. He was angry when we asked to finish. No other course I've ever played forces you off the course before you're finished with daylight left. Members suggested we talk to the course Management. At check in, the same fellow did not direct us to where the carts were, where the first hole was, etc. We had to ask others. Clearly, he's not a people person and not interested in making people feel welcome. Very disappointing. Felt cheated. Had planned to bring a large group there but that will not happen.

Booked a tee time on line for Monday 1/27/20. When we arrived and paid they told us to go to 10 because they were working on the front nine. When we got to 10 they had a scramble group playing, We waited and before you know it here were 5 foursomes waiting. Extremely poor course management. Won't golf there again. The work was planned pest control. So, why take reservations if you know you can't get the people on the course? They did refunded our money but it was to late to find another course for this day.
