Kowkabany’s is one of the best martial arts schools in the area and run by a family! The instructors are highly trained, professional, and passionate about teaching. They focus not only on physical skills but also on character development, respect, and perseverance. My son has improved his focus, confidence, and fitness tremendously. The class structure balances discipline with fun, keeping kids engaged while learning valuable self-defense skills. If you’re looking for a top-notch Taekwondo school, this is the place to be!

A Five-Star Experience at Kowkabany Taekwondo School! The instructors, led by Chief Master Laura Kowkabany and Chief Master David Kowkabany, are absolutely great and take the time to get to know each student, tailoring their approach to meet individual needs. They instill a sense of camaraderie among the students, highlighting teamwork and mutual respect. The curriculum at Kowkabany is comprehensive, covering essential Taekwondo techniques while also emphasizing the importance of respect, focus, and perseverance. My daughters have already shown remarkable improvement in both their physical agility and self-confidence. The structured classes provide an excellent blend of intense training and supportive feedback, ensuring that every student, regardless of their skill level, feels valued and motivated to learn.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place that nurtures both physical and personal growth. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your martial arts skills, Kowkabany Taekwondo has something to offer everyone!

Highly recommend Kowkabany’s Family Martial Arts. The instructors are skilled, respectful and treat everyone like family. The place is always clean and organized. In addition to the classes they provide a variety of clinics and fun activities for the holidays at no extra charge. “Hands down the best Taekwondo school in the Tampa Bay area for both kids and adults. The instructors are passionate about martial arts, experienced in running an outstanding quality school, and dedicated to their students and families (both 8th degree Black Belts). Whether you’re a little one starting at 3 years old or an adult, the Kowkabany’s offers a variety of classes. I’ve been training here for 9 years (started in my mid-40's), and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my physical conditioning and in my focus and concentration outside of the school. Highly recommended!” 🥋👊

My Husband, two granddaughters and now my grandson have all gotten their black belts through this school. I can not even begin to tell you what a wonderful experience it has been for my family. It is especially good when you have a teenage boy with a lot of pent up energy and hormones. Keeps them busy and focused on learning self discipline and doing it with two of the best instructors you could ask for. Truly a great family oriented school.

We absolutely love KFMA Taekwondo! Our friends recommended it, and it has been an incredible experience, especially for Viaan. He loves the classes and has made impressive progress. It's not just skills he's learning; he's also gaining respect and improving his listening abilities. We've really noticed positive changes in him. Highly recommend KFMA to any family looking to embark on a martial arts journey!

We initially received a referral from a neighbor when our then 5 year old son was interested in taekwondo. It didn’t take us long to know we were in the right place. The facility is clean with a nice area for parents to watch. The instructors are very kind, patient, knowledgeable with an emphasis placed on learning the skills of taekwondo. I can see they care about the best interest of the children and I appreciate the carryover of life skills that is being taught. Highly recommend Kowkabany’s Family Taekwondo!

Having recently moved from Atlanta to Tampa, my wife and I spent considerable time looking for the right taekwondo school for our nine-year old daughter to continue her martial arts education, and after checking out several schools in the area, we were thrilled to discover Kowkabany's Family Taekwondo (KFMA), as it offers everything we were looking for: highly experienced teachers that take a genuine interest in your child's growth and development; well-structured and balanced classes that help to improve technique as well as conditioning; a nice facility that offers plenty of space to sit and watch your child during class; and a group of instructors that emphasize the importance of being an independent, strong, and good person outside the classroom. I can't recommend KFMA highly enough!

The Kowkabanys are absolutely amazing. My teen girls don't trust many people, and they love it here. They feel comfortable, and learning self defense gives them more confidence to venture into the world alone. They treat people with respect, and are flexible to each person's needs. I recommend Kowkabany's hands down!

At 5 yrs. old, my babysitter introduced my family to the Kowkabany’s. I trained with them up until shortly after beginning high school, where I went on to pursue some other athletic and martial art endeavors. Only now, at 28, can I begin to comprehend just how much of an impact they would go on make on my life. From an early age, an incredible family at home, and equally incredible family at the Kowkabany’s instilled a work ethic in me that I attribute the lions share of my athletic, academic, personal, and professional successes to. I learned how to be a “civilized monster” and naturally gained the confidence associated with knowing one can take physical control of a situation. I learned how to win and how to lose. I learned how to get back up after being knocked down, literally and metaphorically. This list goes on and on, but I came back to train with the Kowkabany’s in 2021 and help instill these same values in students of all ages today; so feel free to come by and ask me about it!

This is the best martial arts school you will find! Not only is the martial arts training top of the line, but the Kowkabanys are top of the line people. They truly care about their students and what’s best for them. Students enjoy coming to class because it’s great training and it’s a family friendly environment. There are many families that train together and classes are geared toward all levels of learning. The school is well established and has been around for a long time. They stay up to date on training methods and also focus on life skills. The facility is extremely clean and the overall environment is very enjoyable. I cannot say enough good things about Kowkabany’s Family Martial Arts. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!

My family and love this place. I trained when I was younger for about 12 years and then signed my girls up as soon as they were old enough. They teach from the heart. They treat you like family and care about your well being. It is by far the best martial arts facility around.

Kowkabany’s (KFMA) is the best hands down. They are clean, kind, and professional.
We originally signed our youngest up in hopes that this would help his focus and discipline. Soon after our other children showed interest in joining. Before we knew it, we were all taking the classes together as a family.
The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and take the time to guide you on your own path of taekwondo. The black belts all step up to help and critique as well. Kowkabany’s has turned into our second home and we feel like family.
If you are considering Taekwondo, no matter your age, stop in and see how amazing KFMA is!

This place is AMAZING!!! If I could give these guys and gals 100 stars I would. My kids love it and look forward to going to each and every class they can. And they are GREAT with following YOUR boundaries ( you just got to let them know what you're comfortable with.) My kids confidence has risen so much since they joined. I can't say enough about this place and the people who run it as well as the people who go here. All I can say is absolutely AMAZING!!!

We are truly blessed to find such a warm and genuine home in Kowkabany's Family Taekwondo! Before we decided to join, our girls actually started with another local Taekwondo center and unfortunately, with no experience our girls were so lost and felt a bit of discouragement since the setting was just more so watch and mimic. .. but not here, from day 1- they were taken in and not only taught what some of the basic moves were but were explained to why you would use these moves. From helping their students build physical fitness to self-confidence and esteem to self-defense, we couldn't ask for more. The girls genuinely loves it here. If they had it their way, they would attend every class- every day! With all that's happening in our world with our children watching, we're very grateful to both of our Chief Master Kowkabany and their instructors. We hope you all know just how thankful we are to be apart of the Kowkabany's Family. Thank you so much!

If you are looking for an awesome family friendly place to learn Taekwondo you found it. Myself, my wife and my two kids (6 & 3) all attend classes here and we cannot rave enough about the Kowkabany's. Chief Master's David and Laura Kowkabany are amazing instructors and through Taekwondo will teach you and/or your child how to help defend themselves along with giving them a great work out. Kowkabany's Taekwondo also promotes Integrity, honor, self control in your actions along with many other great principles. Definitely give them a try.
